The staff there were wonderful! Very helpful and friendly. The property was beautiful. Great pools, beach, and water parks for the kids.Plenty of night time entertainment.This place is great for a relaxing couples getaway or if you are traveling with the family. They do a great job accomodating everyone! There are fun excursions to choose from very near by. We did horse back riding and went to Monkey land, and they were both great! I would highly recommend this place, if traveling to Punta Cana! We had a great vacation here!

Rooms were clean. We were upgraded to a castle view room. The sofa was torn and some of the pillows but we were not using them so it didn’t bother us. The refrigerator kept things cool but not your at home cool. Mini bar is restocked everyday. Definitely bring your own sunscreen it’s $40usd a bottle at the gift shop. And a floaty for a baby was also $40usd. Family friendly, food is mediocre, overall it’s worth it to us and the kids love it.

No puedo dejar de mencionar a María fernanda de housekeeping; su trato fue el mejor, nos mantuvo la habitación siempre súper limpia y acogedora, e hizo que todo fuera aún más especial. We absolutely loved our stay at Bahia Principe! As a family of 4, this was one of the best vacations we’ve had. The resort was beautiful, the staff was friendly, and there was always something to do.

What really stood out was how much they cater to kids. There were so many family-friendly activities, and our children had an amazing time every single day. It made the trip so much more relaxing for us as parents because there was always entertainment, great food options, and plenty for the kids to enjoy.

The rooms were comfortable, the pools were great, and the overall atmosphere was so fun and welcoming. We made so many great memories here and would absolutely come back again. Highly recommend for families looking for a resort that truly makes kids feel included and keeps everyone happy!

We had a great time overall, especially for my 8‑year‑old. The pool was the highlight — always something going on, and the evening entertainment (kids’ disco, karaoke, face painting) was a big hit. She didn’t use the kids’ club much because she made friends around the resort, which was easy since there were lots of families. The beach and water were also fantastic, and you can move between the nearby sister resorts, which is a nice bonus.

Where things fell short was the service and the buffet experience. I’ve stayed at other Bahia Principe resorts and the service has always been excellent, so this was disappointing. It was hard to get basic things like water or coffee, and when coffee did come, milk never came with it. Many mornings the tables weren’t set with cutlery or napkins, and staff often seemed disengaged or even annoyed when we asked for something.

The live cooking stations were also slow — omelettes made one at a time even though there was entire grill available, and pasta chefs walking away mid‑dish. It just didn’t feel efficient or guest‑focused.

The rooms were very basic. They were fine for sleeping, but nothing special. If you want something nicer, I’d recommend looking at the other Bahia Principe resorts on the same property — you can still access the Explore Legend but get a better room experience.

Great for kids and the pool/beach, but service and room quality definitely need improvement. I wish the attention to service was the same across all resorts.

The bathroom was also in bad condition. Every time someone took a shower, water would leak out and flood the entire bathroom floor. Additionally, the air conditioning barely worked—it felt more like a fan and did not cool the room at all.

To make matters worse, one night the electricity went out for two hours. This was extremely unpleasant, especially with the heat and mosquitoes. My daughter ended up with more than 10 mosquito bites. I was very surprised that a hotel like this does not have a backup generator.

Overall, this was a very poor experience, and I would not recommend this hotel to families or anyone looking for a comfortable stay.

This Hyatt property has a different understanding of the term all inclusive that I had expected. Dinner reservations at the restaurants 5:30 pm. The buffet had a wide variety but the food was almost always cold and insipid. Want wine? $60-80+. Want steak? $45-85. AC and electricity was on and off many times. One night the lights went on and off more than a dozen times. Impossible to rest. Staff seemed disinterested in helping. Often had to ask 4 or 5 times to get something simple. Like bottled water. And the ‘club’ presentation? The ask was for an hour with breakfast. Reality was almost 4 hours of ineffective salesmanship. The irony was that we were interested but the club sales team could not or would not get to the point. What a waste of time. The reward? A spa voucher that didn’t even cover half the cost of a basic massage. Never again. Spend your money on elsewhere. This was very poor all around. I won’t be reserving anything Hyatt for a very long time. This was a major disappointment.

Very kid friendly! Our kids enjoyed the multiple pools and different water features. They had different water entertainment during the day such as a paddle board race, aqua show and an inflatable activity. Amazing dinner show at Onerio! A silent disco, and neon show as well.

Our room was extremely loud as they had placed it close to reception area. The entertainment music along with guests and staff in the halls kept us and my kids awake every night. The staff didn’t speak English which made it hard to communicate regarding orders or asking for help. One Sheet in our room had holes in it and another a small blood stain. The bathroom provides no privacy for families as there’s a window looking into the room. Upon arrival, check in was dull. We were not welcomed or offered any beverages after 10 hr flight. Nothing was explained and our spa credit never provided. Beach was kept clean but very small and filled quickly with no spots left.
Some Staff at buffets and restaurants did not seem eager to help.

I would not recommend this resort based on our experience. Upon arrival, the room was outdated and unclean, and we had to request that it be re-cleaned and mopped. We also encountered a roach. The linens appeared worn, and the refrigerator was not functioning properly.

The dining experience was disappointing. The resort heavily promoted a circus-themed dinner, which did not meet expectations. The meal included low-quality food, meant to serve four people. Overall, the restaurants were subpar, and the buffet was overcrowded and disorganized. While we understand language differences and speak a different language beside english as well, there were consistent communication issues, even with basic requests like scrambled eggs, fried eggs, and omelets. Long lines were also a constant issue.

The pool areas were extremely crowded, and there were safety concerns at the children’s water park. The surrounding tile was very slippery, and we witnessed multiple instances of both children and adults slipping and falling(hitting the back of their heads).

The only positive aspect was the front desk staff, who were professional and helpful. They assisted us in moving to the Esmeralda for an additional fee, which was a much better experience, with improved food, organization, and dining overall. I would return to Esmeralda, but not this resort- Legend.

This resort is just ok. Expect your kids to have a great time and enjoy that. Rooms are kept clean and they do a nice job. The dinner show was also alot of fun. Service here is not good. Several times we asked for things and never got them , coffee drinks spoons for table ect. Food is just ok , not alot of selection at the buffet and due to the app being hard to get into pretrip we weren't able to book alot of dinners. Also cockroachs. This place is ok but wouldn't recommend.

I just got back from here today and it was such a good experience. Everything was amazing. Lots of stuff to do for the kids. Love the evening events they have. Staff were so so nice and helpful. Lots of food options. Only thing missing was the villas didn’t have elevators. Being on the top floor was a pain of going back and forth. Other than that, 9.5 out of 10 for sure!

My kids loved it but my husband and I did not enjoy ourselves. This was the fist time in Punta Cana we were disappointed. The staff seemed as if they don’t want to be there. Rooms and resort was really outdated. Room barely had outlets and only 2 of them worked. Food was mediocre but the entertainment was top notch. After the few issues we had upon arriving on property, our concierge representative, Eduardo took total control over the situation and corrected EVERYTHING! Every time he seen us in the lobby he approached us to asked if everything was OK if there was something we needed. The issues that we had with getting reservations for dinner he took care of. We ate at the restaurant we wanted every night at exactly the time we want. On Friday he arranged a special dinner considering it was a religious day. Overall our stay at Bahia Principe Fantasia was wonderful, we will definitely be back next year.

I had a very disappointing experience at Bahia Principe in the Dominican Republic. The resort is falsely advertised — they claim to have 11 restaurants, but in reality only about 4 are actually available at this specific hotel. The rest are spread across multiple other hotels in the resort complex, making it extremely difficult (if not impossible) to access them. On top of that, reservations are nearly impossible to get, so you’re basically stuck with very limited dining options.

Another misleading point: this is NOT actually a true beachfront hotel as advertised. Depending on where you stay, you’re far from the beach and need to rely on shuttles, which is not what most people expect when booking a “beachfront” resort.

The buffet food was just okay at best — very repetitive with limited variety. Definitely not what you’d expect from an all-inclusive resort of this scale. Also, don’t expect premium drinks — there were no recognizable liquor brands available, which was another letdown.

Service was also frustrating. Getting clean towels by the pool was a daily struggle — they were always out by noon. When you did get one, they were old, worn out, and clearly overused.

One of the worst parts: housekeeping accidentally took some of our clothes along with the towels, and they were never returned. After speaking with other guests, we realized this wasn’t an isolated incident — it had happened to others as well.

First time in Dominican. We stayed at Explore Legend Fantasia. Out of the dozen or so resorts we've stayed at (Mexico, Turks, Dominican), this was probably the least favorable, we will not be going back or recommending to anyone. Food was below average. Most of the staff should not work in hospitality. Plenty for kids to do. Pools were good, lots of options. Beach was okay, food and service at beach was not great. Maybe the other areas of the resort are better, we were not allowed to eat/drink at others. Ambar looked a little better, cannot comment on food/staff. We stayed at Bahia Principe in Mexico and it was a much better experience. The Expedia and Google reviews are very misleading.

We really wanted to love this place because there are some great things about it, especially if you have kids. The water park, pools, and shows are honestly a lot of fun and definitely the highlight of the trip.

But not everything lived up to expectations. The kids club was a big letdown. It just felt poorly run, and the staff didn’t seem interested in actually engaging or entertaining the kids, which was disappointing.

Food was another issue. The buffet was pretty bad, and on top of that, the staff there weren’t very friendly. The à la carte restaurants didn’t make up for it either, very limited choices, small portions, and the whole experience felt rushed. The Japanese restaurant especially felt like they were trying to move you along as quickly as possible.

Overall, there are some nice features here, but the service and food really need improvement. It just didn’t feel like the experience matched what it could be.

All the rooms are in poor condition and need a major renovation. Overall the condition of the main areas are run down and need an update. Food quality was poor and very bland. Pools were very nice and clean and well taken care of. The service was also very poor as they were very up tight and always seemed in a bad mood. They would barley come to our table to serve us or get us drinks. Room service was really good with hot food all the time. The food in the buffets was cold and very distasteful. The weather was beautiful. The water was clear, warm and the sunshine was healing. The customer service with Expedia was incredibly disappointing. When I booked the trip, it clearly stated that we could cancel up to 2 days before the trip. I obviously, had no intention of canceling as this was a trip we have been looking forward to for two years- but a week prior to the trip one of the seven people booked for our trip could no longer attend. I contacted Expedia- was disconnected twice when being continuously transferred to different departments- 2 hours were lost to learn that I could only cancel the entire trip- canceling one member was not an option. When we arrived at Punta Cana the check- in process took over an hour- with 2 small children who were tired, hungry and teased by a waterpark they could see but not access. Once in our room- we still could not partake because we were not allowed to take our suitcases with us- and waited another hour to obtain our luggage in our room. The toilets did not flush appropriately. The shower only has very hot water at all times- the adults i. Our party could not tolerate- it is likely unsafe for children. Communication about activities in the resort was nonexistent. I asked many times & were told to “look on the app”. I attempted the app- but it is either nonexistent or incredibly not user friendly. There were multiple times we sought food and nothing was open. Soliciting was constant. You must buy an adapter to change any devices.

Extremely beautiful property. Pool layout, the castles, the beach were all great to look at. Beach was gorgeous and staff were very good at picking up and disposing of the seaweed from the beach (only so much they can do). Some of the staff were amazing and many others seemed like you were bothering them and didn't want to talk/help. That was very annoying. The buffet was great but the food was mostly just mid and a lot of it just didn't have much taste. Not unexpected since this is 100% a kids/family resort. For a kids resort they had a super small kids food section. Food at most of the restaurants was just OK. Maiko was our favorite and the Mongolian and Tex Mex places were also great. Flame, Il Paradiso were not worth going to in my opinion as the food was not that good. Internet was not good and you have to pay extra for internet that isn't much better. TV reception was terrible and not up to modern standards. What modern resort in 2026 has tv's that you can't stream on? Overall, I'd come back as despite the above that will probably be viewed as complaints it was EXTREMELY relaxing. All said and done, our family absolutely loved our time there. There were some minor inconveniences but the pool/beach and such were a total blast. The only bad thing about the pool is that they close at I think it was 6:30pm. Rather than coming back, I'd probably rather check out another one of their properties. If you have a family with young kids, this would be a fantastic choice.

We spent 7 days with our special needs kids. Eduardo was our butler he was incredibly helpful at making our restroom reservations and making sure we were taken care of. We are extremely grateful for that. We spent seven wonderful days in the hotel. The pool was amazing. The beach was nice. The staff was very friendly. The cleanliness was top. I wish that they did some work on the rooms a little bit updates but it’s not a big deal. We never spend a lot of time there anyways thank you Eduardo for all your help and I do recommend the property.
I also think that they should promote their on oneiro send that-show, which was amazing. I feel like they don’t talk about it enough. That was a really nice restaurant show and the kids enjoy themselves.

Kids Club was fantastic! My kids had a great time there and made many friends! The kids club staff were amazing with the kids and communicated very well with the parents using Whatapp. Thank you for the cute pictures and all the fun activities so that the parents could genuinely relax as well! We appreciate kids club the most from our trip!!!

Our room cleaning staff, mini bar staff, room service staff, reception staff Santa and Andreas were so pleasant and welcoming! Santa gave us the perfect room with a lovely view and close up iuds club. Our room was so clean and comfortable! The air conditioning was so nice in our room and our mini bar was well stocked. Tuve un problema con mi hija de 3 años. Convulsionó y los empleados no reaccionaron a ayudarnos. Tuve yo que salir corriendo con mi hija en brazos para buscar ayuda. Ellos tienen conbenio con un hospital que se llama Hospiten Babaro. Y me llevaron para ahí en una ambulancia. Cuando llegamos al hospital nos dijeron que si teníamos dinero para pagara podían atender a mi hija. Pero que si no teníamos para pagar $1700 dólares. No podían atenderla. Para mí fue la peor experiencia de mi vida. Son unos Animales cómo ver unos padres de sesperados por una hija. Y se comportan de esa manera.

We had a mixed experience. The concierge was excellent—he arranged a birthday cake for my wife and made our anniversary special.

However, the property feels a bit outdated. The bathroom had issues (bathtub condition, inconsistent hot/cold water, and a ceiling leak). We also experienced a couple of power outages, which was unexpected.

Communication was sometimes difficult as few staff spoke English.

It seems there may be a management change happening, so hopefully these issues will improve.

We have been to the Fantasia twice now. The staff are all very welcoming. Juan in the entertainment dept was so good with keeping the kids engaged at the volleyball court. The pool is gorgeous and lots of fun. And our big group of 16 was always able to find something nice to eat at the restaurants. Would definitely

Terrible hotel. I will never recommend ANYONE to come here. The staff are rude and the service is terrible. The food is horrible also. The hotel itself is falling apart. The chairs, the tables everything is worn out. Not worth spending any money to travel here. They're going through a transition to Hyatt and i can see why. It hasn't been managed properly at all. We're so disappointed and frustrated. I get one vacation a year and we spent our hard earned money on this resort. What a big mistake. I definitely believe we should be compensated for the terrible service.

The beds are not comfortable. The food was ok. The pools and access to the beach are decent, very kid friendly. Gym was bigger than expected. Door maintenance issue that happens with battery powered lock, just poor timing for us. The restaurant staff is very helpful and friendly. Might be harder to communicate for poorer spanish speaking groups. We enjoyed our stay but have had better experiences.

Overall this was a really great stay. Beach was nice, a bit crowded but we had no real problem finding lounge chairs. Pool was enjoyable, only wish they kept it open later.
Buffet is a bit understaffed and could use a bit more organization. Had to ask 2-3 time for drinks. That aside the food was good with a lot of variety .
Mosquitoes were a bit of an annoyance so bring insect repellent. People allowing small children to run around the hall way at early hours was disrespectful and disruptive. Although no the resorts fault I just wanted to mention it for people with no children looking for a peaceful night sleep.

We stayed for 5 days as a party of 7 (3 generations: 4 adults and 3 children) over Spring break 2026. It was our first visit to the Fantasia resort. Being VIP Expedia members, we received a room upgrade with 2 connecting rooms and a castle/pool view. We loved our stay. The rooms were clean, the beach is beautiful, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We used the resort app to make restaurant reservations and ask for extra blankets. The only minor issue was the softness of the pillows, which I hope will change once Hyatt starts managing the resort. We loved our stay and our kids are asking us to come back next year.

Very clean room with all amenities. I’ve been to this property many times before in the past few years. There is a lot of variety at the Larimar buffet, made to order omelet stations for breakfast. Meats, burgers, fish and chicken cooked to order for lunch and dinner. Kids station with nuggets, fries, mozzarella sticks and pizza station (which they can make a custom personal pizza if you don’t like the toppings they put on it).

Good hotel good people good pools but bad food
The ketchup taste really bad and mayonnaise worst we stay from Sunday to Thursday and after checkout we stay more days but in other resort because we feel like we didn’t have alot of fun .

Let’s start with Richard the worker in the buffet restaurant how attentive he was every time we walked in …Cruz from the front hotel area was also attentive with the questions I asked her ! The best part about our stay at Bahia Principle was that your able to utilize ALL the other resorts connected!
