The place is amazing. Cosy small hotel with nice views to the Neuschwanstein Castle. Walking distance to town center and restaurants and shops. Has a spa area with steam room and relaxation grotto. Comfortable beds and very quiet area. There’s a school next to it but we stayed over a weekend, so not sure how noisy it will be when school is in session. For sure will stay again in the future.

Stayed in the \"romantic suite\" with view of Neushawstein castle from our private balcony. Room was amazing with soaking tub in bedroom that also had castle view. Castle is illuminated at night. Room had large bathroom with huge shower, double sinks with makeup mirror. WC in separate room. Separate sitting room. Very spacious. Bed was very comfortable and had starlights overhead. Excellent, helpful front desk staff. Excellent buffet breakfast. Rxcellent enclosed garage parking. Bus to Neushwanstein castle a short walk from hotel. Villa Ludwig was an amazing place to stay. Clean, spacious, warm and inviting with a VERY helpful staff. A five minute walk away from the other hotels and touristy areas made for a quiet stay with great views of Neuschwanstein but still so close to everything. We will absolutely come back here.

I wanted to see a real castle, the most beautiful in the world, and my husband took me to this place!
We arrived late, almost 10 pm. And, the minute we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with and mesmerized at the view of the brightly lit-up white Neuschwanstein castle that is nestled up in the mountain! What a welcoming sight!
We were greeted at the front desk by Sebine; she was very kind and spoke excellent English! She was informative and helpful with my many questions. She was thoughtful to give us some tips about our stay. She even booked us our last minute castle entrance tickets and took the time to explain everything (we were blessed to even have a last minute ticket- as they were almost fully booked- tickets to the castles are usually booked a month ahead!) - Sebine also mentioned that the castle lights will be turned off at 10 pm- nice touch of information because that was our only night to see the castle lit up. She also showed us 2 rooms, one that I booked and the only room left with a castle view from the room’s porch. We ended up getting the room with a view of the castle from our bed and outside patio (paid 30.00 euro addtl)- which is so worth it! My husband and I often travel the world and this is one of the few room/hotel that we have been to that is one of the best!

Our two night stay at Villa Ludwig Suite Hotel was excellent! The property exceeded our expectations. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of sunshine and a balcony. The hotel's amenities were many, including an amazing breakfast, on-site parking, free use of bicycles, and within walking distance of all the area's attractions. The hotel staff are happy to reserve castle tickets, dinner reservations, and offer directions to attractions and transportation. We would highly recommend this property and will stay again when visiting the area.

Our recent stay at Villa Ludwig was very enjoyable. The hotel is very clean and our room was spacious. It’s within easy walking distance of the castles, so there was no need to hassle with parking the car. It’s a beautiful property with a garden, outdoor sitting area and sauna. Our room has a small balcony and spectacular view of hohenschwangau castle. The breakfast has a good selection of cheese, cold cuts, smoked salmon, yogurt, sausage, eggs, bacon and bread basket. The staffs were friendly and helpful. The paid parking is easy and secure.

LOVED Villa Ludwig Hotel! Will make the trip back to Germany just to stay here with that gorgeous view of The Castle! Poor Customer Service
Overall this was a great property. Only complaint left a real sour taste in my mouth. Our Castle entrance reservation was 9am but breakfast doesn't open until 8am. The night before, Sabina, at the front desk, told us to come to breakfast 15 minutes early, at 7:45am so we could grab a bite to eat and still be on time for our tickets to the castle. She said she would let the morning staff know. The woman the next morning could not have been more rude to us as she said \"breakfast doesn't open until 8am and to come back at 8am\". We explained that we were following the directions of Sabina and that we had a 9am ticket to the castle. She didn't care and again, was very rude. We did not ask for special treatment - it was offered by the hotel and then we were treated horribly for doing what we were told to do. The worst part - breads and cereals were already sitting out ready to go. She could have told us to help ourselves but that coffee would need to wait a couple of minutes while she finished setting up. Or something similar. There were so many possible ways to handle this and accommodate us without treating us so poorly. As I said, left a bad taste in my mouth for what was mostly a great property.

It was a beautiful hotel right at the foot of Neuschwanstein. We had a lovely view of the castle from our balcony.It was very clean and the staff were helpful. We ran into a bit of an issue because we didn’t have Covid tests but we were directed to a nearby lab that were able to get results to us within 15 minutes. There was a restaurant next-door where the hotel staff made reservations for us to have dinner. The food was delicious! The breakfast was good served in the hotel. I would highly recommend Villa Ludwig!

Villa Ludwig was our favorite hotel so far on our trip. We were upgraded to a Romantic Suite, which was very large and comfortable. We both slept very well on the large bed. The room contained a shower, a bath with a window looking up at the mountains, and a separate room for the toilet. There were two porches for the room, one with a great view (see first photo) of Neuschwanstein Castle up the hill. The manager was able to get us a reservation for the next morning for the Castle. The included breakfast was great and fully fortified us for the hike up the hill. The only stress was parking our larger rental car in the underground garage, but then we were allowed to leave it there all day after checking out. The Castle and views were spectacular as well.

A very relaxing way to visit the castles. By staying overnight, we had time to hike around and see the castles from different viewpoints. The accomodations and service were excellent; the staff friendly and professional. The town is very quiet once most of the tourists are gone in the evening, which we enjoyed. We used the spa as well, which was also relaxing. Highly recommend!

We completely enjoyed our stay and only wish we could have stayed longer. The evening receptionist was very accommodating with us on our late arrival and very helpful with everything we needed or asked for. The room was quite large for Europe, it was comfortable, clean and had a great view of Neuschwanstein castle from the balcony.

We loved the proximity to Neuchwanstein Castle, which can be seen from the property. The property was very comfortable and welcoming and yet private too. The suite was spacious, the natural light from the windows was very welcome, and everything about the property was new and in great condition.

Very convenient to tour the 2 castles. We parked once and walked everywhere. Room was big and beautiful. My only complaint is that the guest is not able to control the temperature in their own room. They set the heat for the whole property apparently and \"tape\" over the thermostat in our room. There is no top sheet so it's either the heavy duvet covered quilt or nothing. Even with the door open I was uncomfortably warm sleeping at night.

We stayed in the romantic suite overlooking Neuschwanstein castle as part of our honeymoon. From entering the hotel until leaving the staff were very friendly and attentive. Offering advice on the local area and help with making reservations for visiting the castles and eating at local restaurants. Our room was beautifully presented. Immaculate and spacious with a definite wow factor with both the direct view of the castle and starlight canopy over the bed. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but does offer breakfast and an afternoon tea time for refreshments. We absolutely loved our stay here and won't hesitate to book again when we return to the area.

A little bit of luxury ..
We loved our stay at Villa Ludwig. It was raining hard when we arrived and we had driven a long way so we were happy to get there. However, we were less than happy when we were told that contrary to the blurb, there is no restaurant. This meant that we had to go out again, in the pouring rain still, and find somewhere to eat. There is a room for breakfast but that's it so please amend your information because this was annoyingly misleading. The room itself was superb. Large with lots of windows and two balconies, a big bath in the bedroom and a fabulous bathroom. The best bit, without a doubt, was the canopy of stars above the bed. We loved it - very romantic. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. The waitress was a bit grumpy - she seemed to be the only one and there were quite a few guests there. She kept scraping back the chairs horribly on the floor as she cleaned up. However, the receptionists were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We could hear a dog howling late in the evening and we rang down to see if they were aware of it. They were not but we didn't hear it again. The hotel is in a quiet position and our room overlooked one of the beautiful castles. Alas we didn't visit as the next morning it was still raining !
