The staff is very rude and was not helpful. They stated since we made the reservation on Expedia, we received a discount. Additionally the AC in the room started to leak and requested another room. The staff gave us a difficult time. Our original room did not even have a clothing iron. Additionally the internet gave issues and when ask the staff was not helpful and rude. I would not recommend this is hotel at all. This hotel was was downside of my vacation.

The room was generally in good condition, though there was a slight musty smell upon entering. Overall, it was fine, but a bit overpriced for the quality. One downside was that booking through Expedia meant we didn’t qualify for the complimentary breakfast, which felt unfair.

That said, it provided what we needed — a roof over our heads — and served its purpose. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again unless necessary. I’d give it three stars, mainly because the ocean view was beautiful.

The staff member was terrible and rude. The office was close at 7:00pm with no one to call for anything. You were on your own. The continental breafast was free in the morning the only thing the staff eat first, and if anything is left over you will feed you. You couldn't paid me to stay at this hotel again. The ceiling was leaking sewer and broke out. There were no water in the room consistenly for 4 days. and a lot more.

No Wi-Fi service in the room. The television don’t work. No radio. No clock. No phone in the room or hall ways to reach the front desk. Staff running cable wire 7pm in my room while I’m eating dinner.
Staff never know what kind of food in the kitchen.
I wouldn’t stay there again.

There were 2 nights with loud music coming from another property I assumed it was young people enjoying themselves. Other than that I loved my room, the view, and the customer service. I definitely recommend it and I be back.

I did not really like the little corner from the dinning area to the room but its a simple matter for a decorator to add some aesthetics To make this property very excellent breakfast should be added to the package.

The view from the room was spectacular and deeply needed after long days of work. Also, the early/late access to the lovely pool made long work days easier to recover from. I really appreciated especially that part because swimming is a crucial part of my daily routine for physical and mental health reasons. So thank you Casa Maria! I will come again - and will definitely recommend it to my friends and colleagues!

My husband and I kept our wedding at this facility. From the moment we arrived the staff were exceptional , friendly,polite,and went over the norm to make sure our stay and wedding was a memorable one. The room was clean and tidy and food was awesome. We would definitely stay there again.

Initial room lacked running water after much effort to get water working we were moved to a different room which lacked hot water. No wifi, no restaurant or breakfast service.

Otherwise the hotel is very scenic with wonderful views of the bay, a great getaway from the busy hussle of the tourist centers. Nice and quiet.

Relaxing Getaway ~ No Fills

Check in was quick and easy. That was perfect for us because we arrived very late in the evening. It was a cute little hotel with courtyard and views of the ocean that literally literally literally took my breath away. Upon entering the room, it appeared clean and inviting. There was a tv with just about any channel you would want. The turn offs may be minor for some but I can be a little OCD. The floor was a little dirty and so were the bed skirts. yuk. There was a half covered hole in the wall and I feared something would come crawling out. I had a huge balcony but a part of it (room 15) connected to the roof of an adjoining building. Well there was a gaping hole in the roof which gave me the creeps. Again, I thought something might come crawling out of it. I also noticed this room needs mesh on the bathroom and door openings to deter bugs/pests. All other online reviews about AC vs Natural Breeze is true. You don't notice that you have no AC because the ocean breeze will keep you cool and relaxed. The front desk and cleaning staff gave perfect bright eyed customer service. They are super welcoming. I can't say the same for the people at the bar. She came up to me when I started browsing the menu but better service would be had if she greeted with a hows your day, can I get you a drink. Let me know if you have any questions about the menu. The shower was cold :( but had decent pressure. Lacks entertainment. Simply a decent place to sleep or relax and do nothing. Iffy Wifi.

The staff were very good. Problems with getting hot water to shower and personally I feel the breakfast menu needs to be upgraded especially on Fresh Fruit. Overall the room was a great view and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Hotel needs total renovation. Room was hot- no air conditioning. The bathroom was too small and gross- needs to be gutted. I would not return or recommend to anyone.!

I stayed here one night just to see friends before going to Montego Bay. This hotel was very nice. The hotel staff were very friendly & helpful. The bed was large & comfy. I had an ocean view and the best breeze coming from every angle. The bathroom was large & very equipped. I will definitely return.

Great Get-away

I stayed at the Casa Maria for a few days, wanting to be near the ocean without the craziness of too many tourists. This was the perfect place! The room was quiet and clean, and the staff of the Casa Maria were fantastic. A late night dip in the pool and drinks from the "007 Bar" topped it off.

The only tricky thing was navigating how to get there without a car. If you ask, the hotel can help you arrange a taxi from Ocho Rios to the Casa Maria (about a 40 minute drive). Their taxi driver was fantastic, and we had a great chat. He was very helpful. This is the quickest and easiest way- but not the cheapest way. There are also shared buses that run along the road between Port Maria and Ocho Rios if you prefer the significantly less expensive (somewhere around 150 Jamaican dollars) and more adventurous route. They can be picked up from downtown Ocho Rios, and also can be hailed down outside the Casa Maria hotel. You may feel like a sardine, packed into the tiny hot bus with 15 other people - cruising very quickly along the shore - but it is a fun memory!

There are also shared buses/taxis that go into Port Maria from near the hotel (about a 5 minute drive) if you want to hit up a local beach.

Overall, I was VERY satisfied with my stay and would indeed recommend it!

Hotel Casa Maria in Port Maria, Jamaica

I have already sent an e-mail regarding my recent overnight stay at the above hotel but so far have not received an acknowledgement!

Just to repeat my complaint briefly!

I found it difficult to understand why a conference involving a great number of people was being held in the dining facility of the hotel when obviously other guests were staying who presumably would want a meal of some description at some point during the day!

My understanding was the conference started on Saturday morning finishing at 10 o'clock in the evening and restarting on the Sunday morning at 9 o'clock! Equally so it was very annoying the amount of noise made when this party of people were leaving the hotel into the early hours of the morning!

My other complaint concerned the extensive restaurant menu in that the hotel despite the conference taking place offered us refreshment only to discover that very little food was actually available!

Because of the above we chose to drive back into Ocho Rhios in order to get dinner that evening which was tiring considering we had already driven up from Kingston earlier in the day!

This hotel could be much improved by giving a little more thought to the needs of the tourists who pass through as well as the needs of the local community!

Finally my thanks go to the waitress in the dining room who did her very best to try and help us but she was the only member of staff who did!
