Nobody around when we checked in, but we knew that ahead of time. No big deal. However, we needed to leave early the next morning (8:30)and when we got to the hotel after a day of touring, around 4 and found that you needed to sign up for a breakfast slot , either 8 or 9 am. All the slots were full. After getting to our room, went downstairs to restaurant and found you needed a reservation. Asked for suggestions for other restaurants, they also needed reservations. Drove 15 minutes back to where we were earlier in the day and had dinner. Next morning told person checking us out of our predicament of having to leave before breakfast...no apology or suggestion to \" grab and go\". On the plus side found a GREAT bakery in the next town.

Owner had keys and room numbers for our after-business hour arrival. We nice owner who met guests at breakfast each morning. It was a hotter than normal week in August and like many German guest properties with no air conditioning we went to bed well after the sun went down and the air was cooler. Very nice location the associated restaurant has a very good traditional menu. Also, the owner provided a generous breakfast.

Wonderful stay!!!

Little hotel with very clean rooms and very nice typical German breakfast - make sure to try the eggs they are all fresh and taste so good. We checked in late they leave the keys in an envelope. There was a restaurant but we did not try it. Breakfast is by timeslots as their breakfast area is small but everything was fresh and tasted good. Hosts were very friendly and be ready to meet smiling people that likes to talk to you. Hotel is 12 minutes from the castles. Thank you for the great short but nice stay.

An ideal hotel for a night or two when exploring Füssen and visiting Neuschwanstein. Staff and owner were very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable and there was plenty of parking onsite. The restaurant was closed when we were there unfortunately but breakfast was included.

The Alpchalet was a warm and cozy hotel. Close to the castles and great views of the landscape. The room was clean and inviting. There is a balcony with chairs and a table.
The wifi worked well in all the areas of the property.
The breakfast was delicious. They will make to order your eggs.

This hotel is in a quiet location, a few minutes from Innsbruck. The included breakfast was first rate. They accommodated our gluten free request very well. When we reqested extra pillows, they brought them to our room almost immediately. Would stay here again.

The property was great. Very clean and comfortable. They even have a family room that has seperate bedrooms for parents and kids in the same accomodation. The night staff's English was very limited but he didn't let that stop him from trying to help us any way he could. We arrived very late in the evening and our keys were there waiting for us. Very efficient checking. The area around the hotel is beautiful... Mountains, lake, cute houses, and friendly neighbours. Breakfast was delicious and included.

wonderful place

We had a wonderful time at Alpchalet Schwanstein. We are a family of four and we stayed at a family suite with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. My kids loved the skylights in the bathroom as well as the 2nd bedroom. You can see the stars at night. We were on a 2 week vacation in Europe and this place is our favorite among all the hotels during our trip. The breakfast is also wonderful, plenty of meat and fresh fruits. Will stay here again next time when we are in this area.

Good:
- We were able to check in slightly early
- Room decor is nice

Bad:
- Parking is shared with the Bar/Restaurant, we had our car scratched even though we parked our car very carefully, the car park gets very busy
- No WiFi at all, we were shown to our room and only then told that WiFi is broken, its 2018 and if the booking says Free WiFi then there should be WiFi
- Breakfast seating area is way too small
- Breakfast times (0730 to 0930) is not long at all
- Our room was over the outdoor area of the restaurant so you could hear the restaurant with the window open
- Road noise was bad enough to have to shut the window all night so it was too hot in the room even with a fan on
- Light switches at the bedside are actually next to where your head is when sleeping so if you move in your sleep be prepared for the light switch to be moved and the lights to come on and wake you up
- Cups were not clean in the room
- Lastly at check in the lady who checked us in thought that when we were paying for our tourist tax that we were also leaving her a tip?....slightly embarrassing to have to ask for our change.

We expecting a hotel in the suburbs of Zagreb but our GPS took us through the suburbs and then up a tortuous one way road to the top of a ski hill. It was about 3000' up. We had A large apartment that would have slept four. It had an excellent restaurant for dinner and a good buffet breakfast. There were good hiking trails all around. Don't use the address in your GPS. It will take you to the wrong place - use the coordinates if you can

Nice simple place to stay

We chose this place right before arriving due to its close range to Neuschwanstein Castle, and had no prior knowledge to it before arriving. The place itself was fine, and the manager was very accommodating and helpful. The rooms were small and no extra sitting-area, and the beds were extremely firm, not to our liking.

My wife is allergic to down so I got one of the duvets changed with a natural fiber, but he only had one, so one of us had to sleep under a normal blanket. Our fault for not informing or checking before hand, but we're used to hotels having both readily available.

The breakfast was very nice, friendly staff, and we enjoyed it.

Overall - nice hotel. Great location close to Neuschwanstein and other sites. Rodelbahn (Alpine slides) are great for kids and a short drive away. The room is set up well for 3 people, but limited seating and very small bathroom. Decent size balcony looked the wrong way for much of a view - mainly of the gravel parking lot and roadway. Breakfast is only so-so as very limited assortment of breakfast meats/cheeses. My wife loved the coffee maker though. Just be prepared for stairs and carrying luggage across the parking lot. Wasn't a problem for us, but might be for some people. WiFi worked mostly fine with small hiccups.

Had a little trouble finding how to get to hotel, due to road construction. Also, had to pay cash in morning, because front desk person didn't speak much English and couldn't do credit card for us.

Could not find staff to check us in when we first arrived, and no bell to call for someone. We were attended to by restaurant staff after about 5 mins, however were not given all info (WiFi password, details re breakfast) as the bar staff probably did not know. Had to return for info later in the evening.

Experience improved after entering our room - clean, good amount of space, decent facilities, renovated bathroom.

Slept reasonably well, although bed a bit creaky.

Restaurant is very good - wonderful staff, great food & wine, well priced.

Beautiful Romantic Rd Chalet

On Romantic Road just outside Fussen but we didnt hear any road noise. Fabulous views and great setting. Rooms are small, well furnished and very good for the price. Restaurant is superb with good choices and reasonable cost. Carpark is large and Wifi was ok. No-one spoke English but we got by ok as they are very helpful.Lovely breakfast in side room - bit dingy and don't know why restaurant not used.

Far superior to the photo. pleasantly surprised!

Very good value for money and the rooms were set up very well. The bathrom though small was very well equiped and very clean. We enjoyed the quietlocation and the country feel. You couldn't ask for more. The castles are just down the road and the restaurant next door seeved very good meals for a very reasonable price. Definitely would recommend both. The breakfasts served were very good although I must say the dining room was \" compact\" at best.

The hotel experience was really good. The scenery around the hotel is beautiful. When you checkin, they bring you to the room to show you where it is. All the lights are on sensors (even in the hallways) and there is a sensor in the room so you can't keep the light on. Really cool!

A most enjoyable stay! From the minute we walked through the hotel door we were greeted very warmly and straight away we felt comfortable. Gabby was the receptionist, she was wonderfull, the best I can ever remember! Our room overlooked the Alps & the view was spectacular. The room had all the comforts you might expect from a good class hotel. Just one small point there was no where to hang clothes in our bathroom. The hotel was perfect placed for touring Schloss Linderhof & the Kloisters at Ettal. We intend to return soon but for a longer stay, there is so much to see in this area.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, spacious room (triple in our case) with balcony and nice view.

Not air conditioned but door to balcony opens to cool the room down.

Note: this is a small operation so don't arrive too late or there may not be anyone available to check you in. We arrived at 10 PM just as the attached restaurant was closing and the restaurant manager had our key (the front desk was already closed).

Great location, if you have a car (and free parking!). Staff was very pleasant and the room was very comfortable. Keep in mind, there is no elevator and we were on the third floor which my mother found a little difficult with her small luggage. Breakfast was certainly adequate with cereal, pastries, cheese and sliced meat, and hard boiled eggs.

Great place for an overnighter

My wife and I got into Fussen later in the day and had planned to stay over. The room was very nice, and the bed was a little firm. We ate there and it was wonderful. Be sure to notice that the restuarant and hotel have different names even though they are in the same building. Also it is in Buching not the city listed in the address (two cities share the same addresses even though they have different names. I would stay there again.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Alpchalet Schwanstein. The location is excellent for those visiting the castles. It is close to Fussen , Oberammergau.
The staff at the hotel was very welcoming and made us feel at home. Gaby was so hospitable and treated us like family. I wish we had more day and stayed at Alpchalet for longer. The view from our room was breathtaking, the room is very spacious, extremely clean and comfortable.
I would highly recommend the place to anyone visiting Bavaria.

If looking to visit the nearby castles and city of Fussen this is a wonderful place to stay. We arrived late at night and the staff was waiting and ready to check us in and were very friendly. Hotel includes restaurant that had music and dancing but which was isolated from the rooms so it wasn't noisy when sleeping. Great views from the balcony of the rooms and very clean. Would definitely stay at this hotel again as it was one of our favorites from our three week trip.

Great little place in the Alps!

We had a great stay at the Alpchalet Schwanstein. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and clean and we had a balcony with beautiful views of the mountains. The food here is also excellent. Everything we had was delicious!

Would definitely recommend it to those looking for a quiet relaxing stay. It's about a 10 minute drive into the busier town where many tourists go to visit the castles. We rented bikes from the hotel for the day at a very reasonable price and they were very comfortable for our ride there and back. It's a short walk from the hotel to the Buching lift up the mountain as well.
We hope to go back next time we visit Germany!

We never expected such an amazing hotel that provided so much of what we wanted. The description does not do this hotel justice. The food was superb and reasonably priced. The staff was pleasant and extremely helpful. This felt more like a bed & breakfast than a hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

Gem of a place

The hotel is located further from Fussen than suggested however it is situated on the Romantische Strass, which really lives up to its name. Incredible views and only 10 minutes from the fairytale castles. The hotel itself is an absolute gem. Such a warm and friendly welcome, fully refurbished to a very high quality, clean and tidy throughout. Do not think twice about having an evening meal in the hotel restaurant. Quality, presentation and service were impeccable and the price is outstanding value. Would have stayed longer if we had the time. 5/5

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights August 2012 had a great time staff very freindly and helpfull.
Room very clean and comfortable. Very reasonable prices for food and drink. Castles and Fussen nearby.

Great hotel beautiful view!!

We stayed here for one night to see Neuchweinstein Castle the next morning. It's a newer place without many reviews so I wanted to make a point to write up on this hotel. It was very very nice, the rooms were large, brand new everything with a large patio overlooking the mountains. Breakfast was delicious and fresh with fruit, eggs ext. the staff were excellent. We arrived very late and they stayed open extra late just for us! I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Its a 10 minute drive to the castle and a quiet and gorgeous location. And the price is unbeatable for what you get!!
