The room was clean, but dated. Pool and hot tub were nice, my kids enjoyed the pool. Breakfast wasn’t very good, we had eggs which were tasteless and biscuits and gravy also not very good. The stay was quiet and we slept pretty good.

beds are old fashioned spring models, worked ok but a little outdated.
Direct tv in the rooms is a nice touch, towels in bathrooms are also not soft to the touch.
breakfast was ok but no sausage or bacon options, had waffles,biscuits/gravy, cereal eggs, toast, milk and juice options.

What i didn't like, Breakfast- No decaf coffee. Otherwise good. Eggs,biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal, toast, lil donuts,juice. Room- didn't like- not enough towels and 1 each LITTLE bottle of shampoo, conditioner.Bed comfy. Hot tub Full of kids until 9pm. Check in guy stated owner's children and friends the every day. Once able to get in, it was great. Asked for a tooth brush,Iforgot mine, they couldn't find any. For the price it was ok.

While we slept decent, enjoyed the pool/hot tub area, and appreciated the continental breakfast I would not return based on how I was treated by staff. Check in process was miserable. Front desk staff rude. Shortly after settling into our room someone from the front desk called and said the manager was saying we were hosting a birthday party in our room. Expressed it was just myself and my 4 children like mentioned when I checked in. Argued with me about this non existing party. Took me inviting management to inspect my room for them to stop accusing me of a party that never happened. With enough hospitality in this area, I will give someone else business.

Cleanest hotel I've ever been in! Front lobby was always swept and moped. Smelled clean, not old and musty like most hotels.
Problem was how staff made us feel. I had 3 children with me, but they are very wèll behaved. We were in town visiting my son that was there for work and was registered in a differnt hotel down the street. Every time we would come and go, we were questioned/accused of which guests were actaully staying there. I was uncomfortable, feeling like I was being watched and judged. Also, I was told there was a $200 deposit, when I said I would go somewhere else, he used my card and just took $100 deposit. Then refused to give me a receipt stating that I dont get one with 3rd party booking. I explained I wanted one for the deposit....he just told me \"not to worry\". Hopefully hes true to his word and I get the deposit!

One guest was upset because they checked in and they had urine all over the bathroom. The bed was so old you could feel every spring and the pillows were so used that it wasn’t solid anymore, just a lumpy pillowcase. The lobby looked great online but that was it. The breakfast was lacking as well. Not worth the price•

The room was clean, but the mattress needs to be replaced. The window heater was very noisy and so we turned it off when we were in the room. Most of the staff was friendly. My biggest issue was the morning breakfast. They end it at 9am...ON THE DOT. There were lots of people staying this weekend and people were actively getting breakfast and the attendant turned off the light right at 9. With people still in the breakfast area, she walked over and turned everything off and put things away. I worked at an Americinn years ago, and my boss would have reprimanded me for such rude customer service.

Room was clean but the drain for the sink and tub were both clogged and slow draining. The water pressure was terrible. The beds were like bricks, and the pillows were as long as my forearm. The Ac/Heater unit was very noisy when it shut off.
If you have a guest come they have to pay by the hour to swim with you which I have never heard of before.
Breakfast is 6am-8am which is way too early.

The hotel was clean and very nice. We slept through breakfast because it was only from 6am-8am. We wanted to go to the pancake house next door but there was a 20 minute wait and needed to get going in about an hour so ended up getting drive-through. Loved the hot tub gets, but the chlorine was so high that when they were turned on it burned our eyes. Other than those two things, it was a great place to stay.

The hotel was freezing. Got into our room and there was no heat on what’s so ever making our room absolutely terrible. It took at least 5 hours or more to heat up, breakfast was only 6am-8am not giving a later option if you wanted to sleep in. Hallways smelled like smoke. I will never go back

Didn’t use the amenities but parking was good, staff was friendly, but my TV didn’t work at all. Remote wouldn’t shut it off at all and it wouldn’t connect to Dish like it claimed. Had to unplug the TV to get it to shut off so I could sleep. Otherwise it was an okay stay for an overnight.

First, there is no elevator in the building, which made it difficult to manage my luggage, especially since I was on an upper floor. This was quite inconvenient and something travelers with heavy bags or mobility issues should be aware of.

Additionally, the shampoo and conditioner bottles in the room were only half full, which felt unhygienic and gave the impression that the room hadn’t been thoroughly prepared for new guests

There is no internet, no elevator close to the lobby that I saw. There may not be one. I had to carry luggage up the stairs. The phones in the rooms don't work. After 3 days, housekeeping is supposed to service the rooms. My co-worker and I were there for 6 nights. After 5 days, I had to request room service. It had not been done. Unsatisfactory

The breakfast were barely adequate. It was very busy and by the time I was able to make a waffle the breakfast lady turned off the lights and shut down. Seemed a bit rude and she was not friendly in the least. On checkout the foreign employee could not print a receipt and said he would Email one but never happened.

It was a decent hotel room for the price we paid, the man at the front desk was very nice and helped us in many ways. However the first morning we woke uo our air conditioner in our room was leaking and our floor was wet, someone elses room who was in our party the air didnt work. However the staff switched room immediately and was very nice and did it no questions asked the lobby was very warm. It did have a good breakfast and the pool looked like it had a film on top however other people were swimming so it could have been just a personal preference on my behalf

No air conditioning in the hotel or room and did not get any sleep in a 85 degree room . 2 towels given for a room that sleeps 4 with no soap. never told breakfast ended at 9:00. Went down at 9:30 w no food for my kids. Asked for a late checkout to find there is no front desk or office staff til after house keeping leaves. I wanted to request a late check out in order for me to take my kids to breakfast and back and was told no staff available to assist in that decision and I would be charged extra. Do no recommend this place and will be requesting a refund.

Walked in to the hotel and immediately noticed no air conditioning in the lobby, not a huge deal.
Staff was very friendly, we had reserved a room with 2 queen beds, staff pointed out we were given a larger room due to it being handicap accessible, once again, very nice of them.
When we walked into our room there an unpleasant odor and the carpet felt wet, I’m guessing the humidity in the building caused this, after a few minutes in the room you got used to it, but it was still noticeable every time you walked in and out of the room,
The pool was great, 9/10cleanliness, the only bad part was that the water was super cold. The hot tub, which also looked amazing, was out of order.

The shower floor in the handicap room needs some cleaning, everything else was very clean. The TV was dish T.v, some of the channels we were watching were freezing and lagging.
Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast, waffles, cereal, juice etc. No complaints.

Over all a pretty good experience for the price.

We were in Ames for a dance competition this weekend. The staff was incredibly polite and responsive to any questions we had. Convenient location near the highway, not far from restaurants and entertainment. The hotel was comfortable with a very nice pool area! Our family had a wonderful time.

This Americinn is staffed by wonderful people and is so clean and neat that my mother would approve. The quiet is just what I wanted, restful sleep and no loud neighbors. The pool is refreshing and the hot tub is lovely. The breakfast was nourishing and varied and delicious.
