Staff was courteous and helpful. Room was fine. Some issues we had - conjoining door was not locked when we entered. We had to deadbolt it which was challenging. The bathroom door did not fully shut so we couldnt use the door lock for privacy. There was food left from the previous guest in the fridge. We also did not have bedding for the pull out couch. We had to go to the front desk to ask for it.bed.

Upon check in, we learned that the pool and fitness center were not usable. This was not shared prior, and sadly made for a bad first impression. The first room we were assigned had a broken refrigerator. We were given a new room, however the door access did not work. We then were given a third room. Thankfully at this point we had a working refrigerator. Sadly, the deadbolt did not work and the door was uneven. In the morning, the toilet would not flush, then, after being \"fixed\" ran all night long. The staff was as accommodating as they could be, given the circumstances.

The first room had a busted faucet in the tub. It turned on but then couldn’t be shut off. They moved us to another room and than one had issues with the toilet not refilling after flushing.
And the pool was closed indefinitely for repairs but the hotel is still listed as having a pool available.

Room was clean, however the pull out couch bed was broken. There was no tub stopper for my daughter to take a bath. The staff was nice but not knowledgeable, i booked through hotels.com and she tried double charging me saying i didnt pay. She was supposed to use the virtual card sent. Lied to me and told me she needed my card on file for 60 dollar deposit. Then 2 hours later tried charging 110 dollars more to my card. Then proceeded to try again at 7am for the 110 dollars again. Management when checking out told me she was new and that i would get my 60 dollars back in 2 days.

The bathroom smelled like it was cleaned with a dirty mop. The toilet seat screw was broken and missing a piece
The tissue box was empty
The hallway floors were dated and worn and needed to be cleaned
A little attention to details and can improve ratings
The key card for the room door didn’t work the next morning

The breakfast was stocked and the staff at check in and checkout were very nice!

We needed a place to rest our head, it was inexpensive ($130) for the night so it was a good value for the cost : )

The building was old and run down compared to other Holiday Inn Express hotels I've stayed in. We got there and both the fitness room and the pool were closed ( both were reasons for choosing) the tub/shower enclosure was moldy. The walls were very thin or poorly insulated because I could hear everything from the rooms around me and hallways. Would definitely not stay at this particular hotel again.

Like Holiday Inn Express but this one had some age/management issues. Some lights in the parking lot were out at night. The carpet in the hallways was dirty (2 days not vacuumed). And the door to the room required your shoulder to open (literally). When you looked at the door jam where the lock goes into the plate it had cardboard. We mentioned this before on another check in survey from you but nothing was said/done. But the room was comfortable (so was the bed-important!) and the breakfast was was fine. And the employees were very nice but not sure why they would think some of these issues were acceptable.

The front desk staff were not the least bit friendly or welcoming. When we entered our room, it had not been cleaned, beds unmade, beer, liquor bottles, and garbage everywhere. The manager was great and had the room cleaned immediately. The cleaning staff were also very good.

The microwave was making such a weird noise that we had to unplug it, and the TV reception was so poor it was unwatchable, nor could we sign in to any of our streaming services on it. Additionally, they were slow to refill breakfast items when they were empty.

Okay place to rest your bones. Stains here and there like the rug and drapes.
Wallpaper had some peeling and hacked repairs.
It looks like they have a guy on staff that does repairs without the skills required to do them correctly. But hey, at least they're trying.
No bugs or funny smells so I'll call it a win.
If they do a remodel (it's due), they'll probably raise the rates accordingly

It was a pleasure to stay at this hotel. The staff was amazing. I have never experienced such great hospitality before I believe its a woman that runs the housekeeping and her young son is a cook in the kitchen omgggggggg amazing the food stayed fresh. I loved everything bout my stay this weekend. When im booking a room its 3 this im look for breakfast a pool and a fitness center. This hotel check all my needs except no fitness center it was closed. I still was able to work myself out as a fitness instructor however the staff was so nice the gym was not missed at all thanks again for a great stay

It’s going through some construction. Definitely out dated. Ventilation in the bathroom was not very good. We got a lady the time we checked in and she was not very kind. Felt like we were bothering her when we asked for extra items for our family of 6. Extra towels, bedding, etc. breakfast was good the staff that does that worked hard to keep that area nice and clean and breakfast supplied.

The hotel was nice; clean and comfortable. We had issues with the card reader on our door. Our key would never work. We asked for new keys three times and that didn’t help. We were there for a basketball tournament and typically eat as a team on Saturdays. Apparently it was an issue for us to eat in the breakfast area or make any noise while doing so.

We checked in later in the evening due to traveling from far away, and that process was easy. No thrills, but easy enough. Our AC did not seem to be working in the room and the same guy who checked us in explained Maintenance is \"on call\" but was unavailable, so he came to try and help us out, which was great, but unfortunately, the AC never ended up working and we had to switch rooms the next morning. The ladies at the front desk and housekeeping helped make that a pretty seamless process, but just a bit of a hassle with packing up our stuff to move a few doors down. It was great they accommodated us though. Price was decent and location was good for what we needed it for.

My family and I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites York and wanted to share my experience.
First off, the bed was incredibly comfy, which made for a restful night's sleep. After long days with family in the area, it's always nice to return to a cozy bed. The staff at the hotel were mostly friendly, greeting us with warm smiles during check-out. However, I encountered a few employees who seemed less enthusiastic about their roles, which slightly detracted from the overall experience.
Now, on to the room. While it was somewhat clean, I did notice that it could use some deeper attention in certain areas. The design and furnishings felt a bit dated, and the overall ambiance of both the lobby and the rooms could benefit from a refresh.
One area that truly disappointed me was the breakfast. The options were mediocre at best, falling short of the expectations I usually have for a hotel in this category. I was hoping for better quality.
Lastly, the pool area left a lot to be desired. It appeared poorly maintained, which was surprising for a property of this reputation. It was a bit disappointing, as we had hoped to enjoy some relaxation time by the water. My kids love pool time when we go away.
In conclusion, while the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites York offers a comfy bed and some friendly service, it has notable areas for improvement. A more thorough cleaning regimen, updated decor, a better breakfast selection, and enhanced maintenance of the pool area

You pay too much, for what little you get

Upon arrival the front desk girl tried to have us pay a second time, although we already paid through Hotels.com. I refused and showed her my bank account and receipt, so she had to call her manager. They put us through as having paid with cash just to get us our room and we had to deal with another receptionist the next morning. Our room had no toilet paper on the roll, had only two towels to use, the refrigerator did not work, and there was no hot water. When we went to the pool area, there were no towels available. The buffet breakfast had minimal to offer, as the guy in charge of the food was more busy outside smoking dope than keeping the food stocked. There was no coffee at all available and the pancake machine was out of service.

Hotel was nothing like the pictures. The hotel is run down and needs repairs. I pulled out the fold out coach to make my daughter's bed and there was a bag of chips inside.
I saw a picture of a hot tub so I was excited to soak in that while the kids were swimming. Unfortunately the hot tub was all boarded up and the indoor pool was the coldest we’ve been to yet. The pool looks absolutely nothing like the picture and it looks they are trying to paint around the pool but never finished? Carpet in the hallways are coming up and looks like a bad job.

For starters we booked a suite. The toilet didnt work. So they put us in a double queen room which was $50less than the suite and didnt give us any money back. The water pressure in the shower was subpar. The pool was approximately 40° and was to cold to enjoy. Breakfast was suppose to be from 7am-10am we waited until 730 and there was still no breakfast.

The deadbolt on my door didn't work and the extra lock on top of the door was extremely loose. There was a homeless person sleeping in their car in the parking lot. IHG hotels tend to all be pretty poor experiences.

We arrived on a Monday afternoon—we immediately had to leave after check in. But when we returned to the room we noticed that there was hair in the tub, dirty towels in the bathroom, the room was not vacuumed, and there were spills on the tile portion of the floor.
We spoke to the front desk and we were moved to another room where there was more hair and in the tub and the fridge was not working. Then moved to A third room with hair in the tub and on the toilet. Finally to a fourth room where we completed our stay for the week , but they had to fix our door lock.
The following morning the manager did comp our first night due to the dirty rooms.

The hotel itself is outdated and the carpets look “naturally” dirty.

Overall the staff was helpful and kind. But I would not stay here again.

After checking in we qent up to the room to open the door to find an old man lying in the bed. We went back down to the desk as they gave us a room when someone else was already occupying it. After getting us a new room we went in and found half of a garnola bar under the desk out of the wrapper. The rest of the room looked fine just wear and tear but that was super gross as it makes you question how well it was cleaned.
