Couldn’t use the balcony we paid extra to reserve due to mayflies swarming it, the hotel doesn’t do anything about this; many other hotels in the area are same on this issue. Swimming pool was heavily over chlorinated, had to open windows because smell of chlorine was so bad several guests were getting watery eyes just sitting next to pool. The hot tub has really nice warm water but the jets are broken so that they turn on but bubble up the sides only where chunks of tile are missing. Restaurant food on site is mediocre but with annoyance of high end restaurant prices like $20+ for box noodle Alfredo and turkey sandwich’s made of bland cheap deli meat slices. Cocktails are $15-20 for well liquors, bartender is friendly. TVs in rooms have remotes that don’t work properly, the buttons on the remote don’t do what they are supposed to such as the enter button being the input button while the input button does nothing. The breakfast is pretty decent for a continental breakfast offering and the staff running this were super friendly and helpful. The parking lot has numerous small to massive potholes you have to navigate around to prevent damage to your vehicle. The proximity to the ferries to Mackinac Island is great, easy walk to get to. WiFi was good. All in all an ok spot to spend a couple nights but ultimately the place has the feel of a once great family vacation spot steadily declining in quality as it heads towards impending closure unless someone steps in to save it.

This place was fantastic. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Pool was maintained and open 24 hrs, fire pit was burning in the evening on beach, free shuttle to ferry, and the free breakfast buffet was amazing and tasty. I will go back here if in the area.

Great location, you can park there before your check in time and front desk lady will call for the ferry shuttle to pick u up and drop y off later , the breakfast was great!! And the lake beach area was amazing to watch the sunrise

The beach location was nice, but unfortunately the room did not feel clean. We noticed stained bedding, visible dust, and cobwebs, which made it hard to feel comfortable during the stay.

The front desk did send someone to change one set of sheets, which I appreciated, but we later noticed another stain on the other bed as well. At that point, it felt like the room had not been properly checked before our arrival.

The location is great, but cleanliness is such an important part of a hotel stay, and this was disappointing. Based on our experience, I would not recommend staying here.

The breakfast buffet was fresh and the staff were very attentive to refilling when the different stations were running low and wiping tables as people left. Even with the many buses of lodgers things ran smoothly and efficiently with pleasant and helpful staff at every need. We requested and had a beach view. It was virtually unobstructed to Mackinac Island.

The location, made it easy to enjoy the area. Check-in and check-out were both completely stress-free.
The restaurant on-site was excellent with great choices. Breakfast was warm and plentiful.
What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was pleasant and helpful from start to finish — from the front desk at check-in, to the restaurant waitstaff, and even at the beach bar. Special mention to Melissa at the beach bar, who was especially friendly and welcoming.
Overall, a very enjoyable stay with great service, great food, and a convenient location.

I got checked in just fine. Staff was very helpful as I wanted the sheets changed when I arrived as both beds the sheets had round spots sporadically on them. The lady at the front desk had them changed immediately. I checked those and they were nice and clean. Later while being in the room found out the fireplace not working which I assumed they disconnected just would have liked to use it. I absolutely loved my view and enjoyed my balcony. I am a single mom who wanted a nice place to visit as my kids are grown. Had the complimentary breakfast they offered a variety of food which was so nice. The beach was so beautiful and clean!! I really liked how they had chairs for everyone to use. They even had an area in the hotel that offered hot coffee, tea and fresh water available at all times loved that. I enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well. They had fresh towels available too. They have a workout room but I didn’t have enough time as I enjoyed being outside and enjoying the beach some and going to the park which is great for kids but I enjoyed the walking and seeing the beautiful beach and gorgeous water!! Definitely will stay here again if it’s not overbooked as I think I got lucky bc the weather is still cool at times but for me it didn’t stop me from enjoying the water.

Located in front of a pristine water and beautiful sunrise spot. Our room with a balcony maximize the value of this staying option. Very good food is served in its restaurant that is literally on the center of the resort looking to the sunrise view. Complementary breakfast is much better than expected for a complementary breakfast. The only critic we had is a eucalyptus like sent in the hallways of the building.

Hotel is very clean with few minor issues like some cracked tiles in the room entrance way. The noise level in the morning(as early as 5:30am) from vacuuming, slamming doors to noisy guests (or staff) is pretty bad.
Other than that, a very clean hotel with a nice view of Lake Huron

Tried to charge me again and even though I had already paid in advance. Charged my credit card additional charge for an unknown reason that they couldn’t explain but later took it off used the reason because I used hotel.com then when I checked out and asked for a receipt was told they couldn’t give me one to contact Hotel.com. Apparently they don’t like for you to book their rooms from somebody besides going straight through them

We were very pleased with the young lady who checked us in at registration she was amazing as well. The breakfast was wonderful and Ray did an excellent job making sure that the buffet was well stocked and area was clean. Our room was also very clean and comfortable. At the end of our stay Beverly did an amazing job while checking us out, making sure that our stay was everything we expected and more and that we enjoyed our stay. We look forward to staying at the Breakers very soon again.

What we can only assume to most likely have been dried up bodily fluid on the sheets in the first room, completely ruined any chance of us getting a good night's sleep, and turned into a full blown nightmare when, after complaining to the clerk (Heather), we were transferred to a far worse room, with pee all over the toilet, body fluids on both chairs, and a gigantic, gaping hole in our blanket. I complained again, to which she called me a liar, and told me that my options were to either take the room or cancel my reservation, which would have left us out on the streets at 11pm in a strange place, with nowhere else to go. Absolutely the single worst hotel experience either me or my wife have ever had in our combined 92 years on Earth. My wife has been battling stage 4 cancer for the last 12 years. She is undergoing intense chemo and radiation treatment, and has a very compromised immune system. Putting her in an unsanitary, literal biohazard of a room like that is literally putting her life in danger. And they did that to us twice in the same night. If you ever have the opportunity to stay at this establishment.........JUST DON'T.

Check in was confusing at first, but once we knew where to go it went smoothly. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed while we were there, but we were not informed until we read the flyer on the counter. Front desk staff was kind, but did not come forth with pool or breakfast info until we asked.
Breakfast was good, but they did not restock anything. 1st day only one milk, no other beverages, only 3 hash browns in the bin, and 5 pieces of bacon. 2nd day had beverages, but only 2 forks, 2 hash browns, 3 pieces of bacon, syrup almost empty etc. Just would have been nice to actually have our whole family enjoy all the breakfast items instead of only a few getting a hash brown or utensil, etc. Beautiful view from the restaurant where we ate breakfast. We will definitely try the restaurant out next time when it is open!

One of the staff members was extremely unprofessional and rude when asked about kids running the hallways until midnight. I get it, it’s not hugely within their control, however they could have done a better job ensuring things stopped and definitely not being rude to me when I was just inquiring about it. When asked if there was a manager she said not on site and that they were taking months off and one was on vacation. I emailed one manager with no response. Our room didn’t have several basic items like tissues and a bar of soap, which we just asked for at the front so that was fine. When cleaned it was also randomly done- one bed made, one trash changed, some towels taken some not, and no vacuuming. I appreciated that they did attempt to clean the room, but it was unnecessary and oddly done. The breakfast was better than most hotels. The pool and hot tub were nice but the jets were terrible. The overall condition of the property was outdated.

The room was clean but the jacuzzi jets were super weak, the patio door wouldn't shut tight and you could see light through the bottom of it. The night stands and dressers were in rather poor condition with paint flaking off of it everytime the doors opened. The patio was not cleared of snow and the rooms were poorly insulated. We could hear everything going on in the hallway and they vacuumed at 8:30am. Other than that, the staff were nice. The value for what we paid for the room wasn't terrible but I was disappointed in the jacuzzi.
