Broken toilet, nonstop water in one room and broken shower head in another room. Be prepared to solve the problem with the reception who is very rude and thinks time is not valuable. It is not a four star hotel at all; basically a hostel. There are much better options with more reasonable prices.

This was very functional place to stay. If you’re looking for luxury I would not recommend, however if you’re looking for somewhere you can get to sleep and is close to a metro station, then this is your place. The rooms were very clean, the staff were very nice and helpful, and the room had everything you needed after a day of exploring Milan. The breakfast was a bit boring, but sufficient to get your day going. I would stay here again as it was affordable and good location for transport. The only down side is it is next to a busy road, so only if you have the window open you’ll struggle to get to sleep, but there’s air con to combat the heat.

the hotel was close to where the people we were visiting lived. They had parking, so that was a plus. The restaurant near by wasn't great, but you can walk to some nicer ones. Bathroom was old. Towels were great and as in many italian hotels there was no shampoo and conditioners.

A 12-15 min walk from Romolo Metro station. A nice quiet location away from the tourist areas. Staff was friendly and friendly, the hotel overall is very clean and breakfast was good. There's a cute and delicious bakery across the street and few doors down from the bakery is a pharmacy. I would stay here again.

Very nice hotel. We were close to the metro/bus/train station. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Didn’t venture to any restaurants near by because we ate down by the cathedral. We had an early flight out so we weren’t able to grab breakfast. It was easy to navigate from the hotel to Linate Airport by train and bus.

Very nice stay overall. The only downside was the noise that the cleaners did while cleaning the room next door. At some point they must have moved the bed because there was a big bang against the wall (where my head was) and that woke me up. Not good for a hotel!! You want some quietness.

Great hotel. Friendly staff. The rooms are clean and modern. The beds were comfortable for our 2 night stay. Convienent location with only a 5 minute walk to the Milano Romolo metro. The showers are tiny, but the water pressure was great. Their continental breakfast was delicious! Many different selections with cold cereal, fresh fruits, breads, pastries, sliced meats, fresh cheeses, scrambled eggs, coffee, tea, juices, etc. Wi-fi worked great here.

Efficient, spotless and friendy Hotel La Spezia

This is our go-to Milan hotel as it is close to a relative whom we visit regularly. While it is not downtown, the proximity to the Romolo metro station makes it a short ride to the Duomo and center of Milan.

Hotel staff are welcoming, every hotel facility is impeccably clean and well looked after, breakfast is varied and the buffet constantly refilled. The hotel manager responds to emails to accommodate specific requests for a hassle-free stay. Would definitely recommend and will return for our next visit to Milan.

Best free breakfast EVER!

Lovely hotel. Nice room. Fantastic free breakfast in the morning on the 5th floor (seriously....they were serving mimosas!). The only thing I didn't like is that there isn't much around. We took a $20 taxi to the cathedral. That is where all of the action is.

This is not an attractive hotel to look at and lacks any personality, but its in a good location; 10 minutes walk to Romolo metro and similar to canal district for restaurants etc. It is a relatively new building, so the rooms are very clean and reasonably well insulated against road noise, but they're also very small and basic. The shower is so small that its impossible to turn around without knocking the mixer tap and changing the temperature ! The breakfast buffet was perfectly fine and the staff are friendly and helpful. The big problem with this hotel is that it carries 4* prices, but the facilities and rooms are closer to 3* or even 2*.

Four star hotel in a quiet residential area

Hotel La Spezia is a 4 star hotel with very clean rooms of decent size. Breakfast was okay although it only starts at 7am. The only downside of Hotel La Spezia is probably is location. It is a 5 to 7 mins walk to Romolo Metro Station cutting through a quiet residential street. The walk to the metro station was quiet and dark in the dawn and late evenings which made it unnerving for a single traveler. There was only one nearby restaurant. In conclusion, I wouldn't mind staying in Hotel La Spezia again if I was with a group or had a private car to move around. But I may not do so if I am on my own and have to rely on public transport to get around. Hope this helps you make your decision !

I booked this hotel as a base in Milan to watch Inter - Lazio match. It has a very good location to the Romolo Metro station very near (5 mins walking) from where you can reach every place of the city. Hotel is clean, comfort, parking only 10 eur per day and the staff very nice. The contra is that no good restaurants near.

Straightforward

This hotel was simple and straightforward. The hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. The breakfast had a filling selection of continental pastries, cakes, fruit, sliced ham and cheese, etc. I don't think food is generally available other than breakfast but they were able to recommend a nearby restaurant. The room was fine and free wifi is provided. The bed (and especially the pillow) was quite firm but it was fairly comfortable nonetheless. It is about 5 minutes' walk away from Romolo metro station on the M2 line and was quite easy to get to from Stazione Centrale. Although it's a little way out from the city centre, it is useful if attending a conference in one of the other hotels nearby.

I would recommend this hotel to friends that don't mind a little trek to get to the closest subway station in order to reach central Milan.

We used this hotel as a base in Milan to watch AC Milan.The hotel was clean and comfortable, the reception staff were helpfully polite and spoke English well. The rooms were clean well maintained and exactly as described. The bar was a desk with limited choice but was fine for a swift one prior to going out for the evening but warning it closes during the afternoon at least on a Sunday. There are a number of bars and restaurants within 10 mins walk on the canal.
The buffet breakfast was fresh and reasonable and well presented.
The undergrond station Romolo is 10 mins walk and very riliable service.
We would recommend this hotel as a base in Milan.

Good value hotel 5 min walk from metro station

This hotel is moderately priced and within easy walking distance of Famagosta metro station. The 70 minute journey to the hotel from Malpensa airport was easy, even without speaking Italian, using the Malpensa Express train to Cadorna FN station and connecting to the metro green line. All the hotel staff were very pleasant, helpful and professional. The hotel is recently built in simple, contemporary style. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable with good quality linen. The adjoining shower room was functionally adequate. There was a safe in the wardrobe. The TV had many channels with news stations such as BBC and CNN. The wall-mounted air conditioning unit was tolerably audible. A robust metallic venetian blind outside the (opening) window was effective, and controlled from an electrical wall switch. The muted sound of moderate local traffic could be heard when the window was closed, but was pretty much tolerable. An excellent continental buffet breakfast, available from 7-10am in the top floor dining room, was included in my room price. The local suburban neighbourhood appeared safe enough. It didn't have a lot going for it, but there were a couple of very passable restaurants close by, that the hotel staff would direct you to. My only gripe was that the free in-room internet connection wasn't working. It was being investigated, but was not fixed within my two-day stay. Overall though, a well above-average experience.

While the hotel itself is decent, it's location is miles away from the centre of Milano. It's a 20 minute taxi ride, and costs 30 euros to get to Milano Centrale, and that was on a Sunday afternoon when the streets are virtually deserted. The location is a rather grubby part of the city, with nothing to recommend it.

The hotel is rated 4 stars, however, it has no restaurant and no room service, two of the basic amenities that make a 4-star hotel.

All in all, I would avoid this hotel and select something more central.

Very poor breakfast. Windows on the 1st floor street side cannot be opened. Plastic chears in the room and TV which goes off and on by itself. This hotel doesn't deserve 4* rating, have seen many 3* which were much better.

Positive:
Free wifi internet in the room, hotel's private parking (10€ a day), very close to highway (good for travelers by car)

Le métro très proche, ce qui est un plus.
Bon petit déjeuner avec l'accueil qui va avec. La clim marche bien.
