The hotel was amazing.
Very friendly staff, room was beautiful and giving real old money. The restaurant is also a ten.
Only one thing : air conditioning was stuck on heat and we needed to open the window to balance the temperature.

A good hotel in a great neighbourhood of Milan. A 30 min walk from the key sightseeing area around the Duomo and easily accessible via Tram 3. The welcome could have been better, we arrived after dark in a terrible rainstorm on Saturday night (4/11) and found the reception staff to be young, with a couldnt care less approach. No welcome, no helpful info on the hotel ie breakfast times or a basic introduction to the incredibly confusing layout of the hotel. They also pushed back on the VIP reward - although we subsequently worked this out with reception the next day. Our comfortable and quiet room was through reception and back outside, through The Doping Bar (a brilliant and incredibly busy bar) to a small door that took you to a lift to the rooms. The team member who showed us to our room could not work out how to operate the lighting in the room and left us in the dark wondering what exactly we had booked! Everything improved enormously the following morning at breakfast. The team working in Zaia serving breakfast were really fantastic! Attentive, interested and offered some great suggestions on things to do. The breakfast was delicious and worth adding to your booking. Overall we settled into this rather disjointed hotel and got in tune with its eccentric feel. We would definitely return.

Staff Awesome But Bathroom Disgusting

First off this staff is amazing the hotel really stylish. The room was very cool but the amenities not so much! no steamer no iron in room, no menu for mini bar no information for guest no room service, maybe this was an oversight but I hate asking for things. The bathroom had mold and our shower clogged and flooded the bathroom it was disgusting and I had to go without a shower that day so I didn’t flood the whole room. While they fixed the shower and cleaned up there was mold all over the tile grout and that’s gross even above the shower and the window which is not a sign of a good hotel it’s actually unacceptable. Nobody made any effort to compensate or say sorry not even breakfast or coffee or drinks anything would of been better then nothing I didn’t ask to move rooms it’s unfortunate that this hotel didn’t make a better effort. We bought breakfast everyday it was good it was not included which was ok with me the bar was beautiful and hip but very loud and you could hear music till 1am in the morning at least in my suite.

We stayed for one night. It is possible to drive to the property without dealing with congestion charges. Parking there is quite expensive but they were generous with leaving the car there on checkout day so it was quite convenient (tram line 3 from the centre). Rooms are very clean and unique. Bar area is a bit of a scene and eclectic and might not suit all visitors.

Not worth it

The room we were in backed into the public toilets and due to the place being open late we had constant screaming and giggling and drunk people until 2 am keeping us awake. The staff also didn’t offer any kind of compensation or apologies. We ate there but the staff wouldn’t bring a wine list or recognise that breakfast was included.

A wonderful weekend in Milan

We enjoyed our stay at Aethos Milan. The room was clean, breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. There is a club associated with the hotel which has amazing decor. You can get totally caught up in looking at everything. It is like a museum! My only complaints- the chairs in our room were trendy but not comfortable to sit in, and the mattress was a bit too firm for us.

The design of the hotel is amazing.
Apart from that though, i felt the staff and the facilities offered need improvement.
In addition, the breakfast was poor and it didnt have basic items that u find even in 1 star hotels with breakfast.

Eg. Eggs! Who doesnt have eggs as standard for breakfast? They charged us €6 each for 2 fried eggs per night. I felt for the amount u pay for a 4* hotel, this was ridiculus

A nostalgic escape

Walking into The Yard is like stepping into a nostalgic past in some other dimension. The entrance is like walking into a secret escape and even the staff look as though they belong on a movie set. My eyes were never bored in finding fascinating furniture, pictures, and design elements. The bar was amazing and drinks fascinating and the rooms were chic and spacious. I would however note that we were living in the yard of a lounge/bar with all of its energy, but some of us thrive there. The Yard was definitely an enchanting escape for us.

Unique doesn’t do it justice. Very elegant in an eclectic way. Fantastic staff. Stayed in the Spitz (as in Mark) suite. Very nice breakfast, too, with incredible assortment/selection of items, included.

Best place to stay whilst in Milan.

Right in the middle of the nightlife district the navigli, but as quiet as a country side chalet. Large suites with terraces and incredible decor. Every room is different, eclectic chic with amazing service.

If only I had another day.

The hotel was incredible. I absolutely loved the style and attention to detail. The restaurants were amazing and the overall vibe had a really fun, eclectic energy. I can't say much about the neighborhood because I never stepped foot outside of the hotel -- WILL come back for more!

Perfect stay!

The hotel is a work of art! It’s so fun to just be at and look at all the decor. The staff is remarkably sweet and helpful. Ginger walked me to each of the different restaurants and reviewed the menus with me until we found something I wanted and then had the chef modify it slightly to make it perfect. The rooms are spacious, clean and fun. Great shower and mini bar stocked with drinks. Cannot say enough great things about this place!

I will be back to stay at this cool hotel!

I came to Milan for four days with my daughter and we stayed in the yard for 3 nights. It was the coolest, friendliest and the best hotel ever! We are definitely coming back!
We never ate at the hotel as there were so many restaurants within walking distance. We slept like logs as the beds were fantastic with lovely duvets and nice pillows (very important to us!)
The staff were so friendly and the place itself just the coolest! I have recommended it to all my friends!

Seriously classy hotel in Navigli area.

Wonderful hotel, beautifully decorated, great attention to detail. Perfect for the Navigli, but not too far from the Centre. Lovely, quiet and cosy room with great beds. Modern bathroom. Everything worked beautifully. Quite the surprise, won’t be going anywhere else.

Loved the design and decor of the hotel, loved the theme of each room even though we would get lost every time we entered or tried to leave, ha. The breakfast buffet was lovely, the woman running it was the sweetest. The front desk staff were helpful if not super welcoming. Every time we came back to the hotel at night we were stopped by what seemed like guards as they were having private parties in the bar/lounge area. Would be nice if we could've ordered food to be delivered to our room or have been able to eat in the restaurant but as I said, they were hosting \"private events\" each night we were there.

Cons: Dark small cluttered room, Terrible lighting throughout hotel, slippery throw rugs in lobby and
deangerous unlit stairs. Lighting system was difficult to use

If we weren't awakened in the middle of night to loud drilling in the room next door, this hotel had the potential to be promising. Apparently the key was stuck in the door and they were trying to get it out from 12-1 am. After voicing several complaints in the middle of night, the noises stopped. Unfortunately, it ruined our stay.

Great Hotel with so many different and quirky things, great staff and great continental breakfast. Perfect for walking to the sites and the canal area (bars and restaurants) is only 600 yards away. Get the private transfer from the airport, so quick and easy. Perfectly peaceful and quite room, great stay thank you.

Cool Hotel, good position for sight seeing

There was a photo shoot going on when we arrived , which complicated check in and restricted the space.

Hotel insisted on taking credit card detail although we had paid everything in advance via Expedia.
They then charged us for rooms that had already been paid and said I had to wait 10 days for a refund.
It was eventually sorted out but shouldn't have happened.

Don't waste your money

For what we paid I expected more. Yes, unique decor is cool. Other than that, I would not recommend. Service was lackluster. Room was tiny. I will leave some other opinions off of here that aren't relevant for most travelers. But the hotel is aware as i spoke with them directly. Have stayed in plenty other places in Milan that are better.

One of a kind hotel with amazing lobby, restaurant, and breakfast area. There's nothing cookie-cutter about the common areas, which are decorated wall to wall with antiques. Although the bar and restaurant were popular, our room was quiet.

Hidden gem

Great hotel, but impossible to find, needs to have some signage or explain to guests to look for the number 8 on the gate and inform guests there is no sign saying “The Yard”. We arrived by car and drove past it several times before having to call the hotel to see exactly where they were located. Very frustrating when in a strange city on a very busy street with traffic.

Fabulous location

The hotel is simply unique in its style, character and ombeance is like nowhere I’ve ever stayed anywhere in the world. Quirky, facinating and oh so interesting and most comfortable and very relaxing. Would like breakfast to be more substantial - the option of cooked eggs etc - even st an extra cost. Totally special place, we loved it.

Dare to stay somewhere cool and exotic

Great hotel different vibe to standard 4 star hotels.
Not suitable for people who might have disabilities as there are lots of steps and corridors are dark otherwise the rooms seem suitable.
Great nightclub atmosphere in bar and prices are similar.

When we saw the sign we did not know what to expect, but got the best surprise ! In the court yard of a
building you have the best Lounge area. The Hotel is full of the most fantastic things you could find. We did not even see have of it plus the rooms which are just perfect. The staff is fantastic and so friendly a true find and we will return.

Nice but noisy

The hotel is actually in the back of a massive bar and I would actually say it's more of a bar with hotel rooms than a hotel with a bar. The design is really great and trendy and staff are friendly, the only problem is that since the hotel rooms are in the back of the bar it is very noisy at night. It will only quiet down after 1am which was a problem for us since we tend to go to bed early. Another disappointment was the breakfast which seemed a bit greedy. You get a basket of dry bread and a couple of pastries and yoghurt, not taking into account any dietary requirements. The breakfast you get contains dairy, pork and gluten. It seems a bit old-fashioned to me to assume that anyone would just be ok with these ingredients.
