The single room was well-equipped with a desk, chair, lamp, tv, wardrobe and good sized bathroom. Bed was comfortable and extra pillow was appreciated.
The hotel was quite warm for me but even in early November the weather was pleasant enough that I could open the window.
Housekeeping, bar and breakfast staff were all very friendly.

Old rooms, the bathroom was so old and cramped, but comfy bed and lovely staff. Dinner wasn’t very good, though. Our food arrived still frozen.

The staff was very helpful. There was a coffee machine at the breakfast buffet producing some really odd liquids but the waiter was always ready to make a proper coffee for all of us at no oncost. Just one thing was annoying which is now becoming common - the A/C works also as central heating and as it was already cold it started heating at 4 am with such a noise that woke us up and its operation was so noisy that we had to turn it off till the morning.

In Intra there are a lot of pointers \"Il Chiostro\", therefore, finding it in the city is easy. Near the hotel there is a small parking lot, but it is usually always busy. We left the car in another closed parking lot of the hotel, 100 meters away.
The room was very cold. At night, we had to cover ourselves with a blanket, but still we froze.
The breakfast is excellent with lots of cakes.

A comfortable and clean hotel in Intra

I chose this hotel to be my base in a convenient part of Lago Maggiore. Transport connection in that part of Italy are somewhat strange (and most of them - completely unknown to every online tool starting from Google Maps and ending with Rome to Rio, but still the area is serviced by some public transport, and if you don't expect frequency and speed like in Germany or the UK, you can go from almost anywhere to almost everywhere - considering you have enough time and don't expect to visit more than 2-3 places per day.

That said about the area, let me say also something about the hotel.

It's easy to find, about 10 minutes walking from the port and the bus station, and even closer to Intra's centre. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and good looking for a 3-star hotel. The check-out time is a little non-standard (10 am) but if you ask at the reception, they will most likely accept something like 11:30 (at least that's what I needed). Wifi is working and fast enough, air conditioning is extremely silent and also working well...

The hotel definitely won't make you say \"wow\", but it's good enough so that you don't feel you made a compromise. I would stay there again, if I'm traveling to the same place.

The hotel is partly based on old cloisters although on the interior it has a modern feel. The staff clearly take pride in the hotel. Nice well kept gardens. There is an auditorium that hosted a concert one night. The staff were very helpful and sorted out a problem I'd had with the toll motorways. This was very much beyond the basic role of reception staff. Location is fine and the ferry harbour is an easy walk. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Large Co-Op supermarket across the road. On site parking is limited but the hotel staff indicated other free places to park nearby. Breakfast is adequate but nothing special. Overall it is a very good place to stay.

our stay was ok, but we were a bit dissppointed by the hotel. The room was clean at first sight, with a closer look tough, it definitely has room for improvement, especially in the bathroom. In addition, the shower was tiny, so even if you're slim, you can hardly turn naround in it. Breakfast was basic, but for italian standard not too bad. Everything in the village is reachable by foot, so that's very convenient, as well is the free parking right in front of the hotel.

Really nice hotel, slightly back from the main lakeside. (2 minute walk to Intra ferry port) Very clean, with pleasant gardens to sit in and sunbathe etc. Room (for three) was very pleasant, large with welcome air conditioning. High quality breakfast with plenty of choice and space to sit.

The hotel is located about 10 minutes drive from the beautiful old town of Verbania Pallanza. Didn't particularly like the hotel's own location in Intra, no views from the hotel, and we didn't fancy Verbania Intra itself. Hotel itself is clean and nicely decorated. Very efficient service. Continental breakfast was good and varied.

Peaceful and relaxing.

The hotel offered a very tranquil setting about 10 minutes walk from the shore of Lake Maggiore. The cloisters area was a lovely area for simply sitting reading. The hotel has a small chapel off the cloisters which was in use for a small service on Sunday morning.

The staff were incredibly helpful, the room clean, comfortable and a good size. The breakfast buffet was well stocked with the usual continental fare ranging from cereal to boiled eggs, ham and cheese.

We ate evening meal in the restaurant one evening but were close enough to the town centre to try different local restaurants each evening including O'Conors Irish Pup which had a great atmosphere.

The gym wasn't particulary good with equipment being domestic type equipment as per a home gym and parking adjacent to the hotel was limited but there were plenty of free parking locations nearby.

Overall we had a great stay and are happy to recommend Il Chiostro to anyone looking for a tranquil place to stay in the Verbania area.

Hotel good. Excellent location. Parked directly outside (no charge). Good choice buffet breakfast but had difficulty finding somewhere to sit as tables all assigned to members of coach parties. (2 in whilst we were there). Did not eat in hotel restaurant in evening as coach parties were dining in. Room had balcony with chairs & table which overlooked garden so we could sit out.

This was an ok hotel, but I wouldn't describe it as a hotel. It was originally a hospital, which then turned into a convent. There are a lot of older generation using this facility and a lot of students, who I guess live or stay there whilst they study in Italy. Staff are varied most are good a couple were very short with us.

Chambre confortable avec un bon lit proche du centre ville à pied. Petit déjeuner plutôt correct. Lorsque j’y suis allé à l’hôtel, le parking était complet et il n’est pas facile de se stationner dans la rue proche de l’hôtel. Pensez à réserver votre place de parking avant d’y arriver.

Der Aufenthalt dauerte eine Nacht und war sehr gut. Nur die Lüftung im Zimmer, die ununterbrochen lief, hat die ansonsten perfekte Ruhe etwas gestört und die typisch-italienischen Wolldecken anstatt \"richtiger\" Bettdecken und die Tatsache, dass wir zuerst nur ein Zimmer mit einem Bett bekommen hatten, obwohl ich um zwei gebeten hatte, was auch im Zimmerplan vermerkt war, haben die Begeisterung über das Hotel minimal getrübt. Das Frühstücksbüffet ist sehr gut.

Il chiostro è in una zona molto comoda in quanto nelle vicinanze della Basilica di San Vittore. Le camere sono comode e spaziose (magari un po' \"vecchio stile\").
Il personale è gentile e disponibile, la colazione a buffet è abbondante e varia.

Il chiostro prende il nome dai suoi reperti storici di gran classe. Si viene accolti da un preparata quanto avvenente concierge,la signora Rossella!
Simpatica che ti mette subito a tuo agio.
Le camere pulite e ben arredate.
La colazione a buffet di buona fattura in una sala davvero bella.

Insgesamt ein schönes Hotel, der Service war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Einzig die Parkplatzsituation ist katastrophal. Vorteil: das Hotel liegt ziemlich zentral Nachteil: die Straßen im Zentrum sind sehr eng, Parkplätze gibt es so gut wie keine. Für die Größe des Hotels ein absolutes Manko.

Nice hotel located in a dull place, but just round the corner from Intra shopping area and a 10 min walk from the shore and conveniently located for the ferry. The pictures oversells the old monastery feeling. Seems like a nice family hotel with an inner courtyard with a small playground for children and with rooms with a view to the courtyard.
Everything from service and room to breakfast was OK, but nothing spectacular in any way.

Das Hotel ist absolut empfehlenswert. Die Lage in der Altstadt, die tollen Zimmer, der schöne Garten und das gepflegte Haus haben mich, bei dem Preis, positiv überrascht. Zum See sind es gut 10 Minuten zu Fuß. Restaurants 5-10 Minuten. Supermarkt direkt gegenüber. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Esperienza sicuramente positiva, albergo ricavato da un monastero con sale affrescate, posizione comoda nel centro di Intra da cui si raggiunge il lungolago in pochi passi, vicino ad un supermercato, parcheggio privato, stanza spaziosa (bagno un po' spoglio), pulizia impeccabile, silenzioso. Colazione buona. Servizio a tratti un po' lento. Rapporto qualità/prezzo ottimo.

Hôtel bien dans l ensemble, propre.Par contre la chambre pour 1 personne très très petite.Ne pas être coté rue trop de bruit Le Matin dès 6 h entrepôt juste en face, camion qui décharge ,même le samedi,bref pas top pour dormir un peu plus tard.
Jolie jardin bien entretenu.Le personnel dans l ensemble sympathique à par une personne un sourire ne coute rien et faire un effort pour l’accueil.Si vous voulez une place de parc devant l’hôtel il faudra vous lever tôt ou avoir bcp de chance.Demandez a l’accueil car ils ont d’autres places derrière l’hôtel.

Séjour de 2 nuits en famille, chambre de 4

Hôtel bien situé dans la ville d'Intra Verbania, à 10 mn à pieds des navettes faisant le tour du lac Majeur, et à moins de 3mn du centre ville piétonnier.
Nous avons eu la chance de pouvoir nous garer gratuitement dans une rue adjacente, et donc éviter le parking payant situé à 100 mètres.
L'établissement offre un accueil très convenable et un petit déjeuner gratuit d'assez bonne qualité.
La chambre familiale que nous occupions ne permettait pas de disposer d'une belle vue car les fenêtre étaient très hautes, cela dit nous n'étions pas là pour regarder le jardin de notre chambre.
Sinon tout le confort nécéssaire était là.
il Chiostro est un 3 étoiles local dont on ne doit pas s'attendre aux prestations d'un palace.
Cela étant dit, nous avons trouvé l'installation tout à fait conforme au descriptif et d'un rapport qualité prix très satisfaisant, qui plus est, durant la période estivale.
Le personnel est à l'écoute et disponible pour aider au bon déroulement du voyage.

Très bien, à recommander

Excellent hôtel, très bien situé, espace jardin très reposant, personnel accueillant, petit déjeuner copieux, le seul bémol a été la literie un peu inconfortable des enfants (chambre familiale)

Le patio accessible à tous, sans fumeur c'est beaucoup mieux (remontée des fumées dans la chambre).
On aurait apprécié un mini réfrigérateur.

la chambre devait avoir vue sur le lac, la fenêtre de la lucarne était à 1m70 du sol avec vue sur l'immeuble voisin
L'accueil est détestable, le personnel doit impérativement changer de métier, désolé d'être client !

Molto belli i chiostri interni, vicinissimo al centro, parcheggio davanti o accanto all'albergo , camere pulite , ottime informazioni alla reception; non metto il massimo perché avendo avuto clienti nella camera accanto che hanno chiacchierato fino a notte fonda, siamo rimasti svegli anche noi... l'esterno invece è molto silenzioso.
