Excellent breakfast. Beautiful lake view. Very convenient to board the ferry to the Isole Borromee. The extra money for a parking pass was well worth it. If you are there on a Saturday, the open market in Intra is about 10 minute drive away and it is big!

An absolutely fantastic stay, directly adjacent to the ferry terminal, with excellent views over the lake, and a great breakfast. I like that Verbania is less full of tourists than Stresa, but still has a wonderful waterfront, great restaurants, etc.

Stayed at the Belvedere for 2 nights while visiting Lago Maggiore. The hotel is facing the lake and we had a beautiful lake view room. It is also soooo conveniently located right across from where the ferry takes you to the various islands. My Italian cousin was impressed with my choice. The hotel breakfast was excellent and lots of restaurants nearby. Highly recommend!

Despite the outward experience of a once grand hotel, this is at most a three star hotel. The interiors, furnishings and furniture (judging from our room and the public areas) all seemed a bit worn and inexpensive and the place could use a refresh. That said, the staff were all extremely nice and helpful.

Hotel is right at the waterfront, very convenient location tho there is no parking so one has to hunt for its own parking spot. Room is good size and comfortable. Buffet breakfast is good. Beach is exactly closely (about 10 min walk). It was raining the morning we were to check out so we did not get a chance to walk around town. From the little we saw the night before, I would stay there again.

It was 95 degrees outside, our air conditioning was between 75-78 at all times, even though we had it set to 64 it was never below 75.
Price/quality not a match - overpriced for the state of the hotel rooms and what is available.
The beach is 850 meters away - takes maybe 20 minutes in the summer as it's hot.
Our special request written in the notes regarding accessibility was ignored and front desk staff said it was not received. If you have a special request, call them directly.

The hotel staff was warm, welcoming and very helpful.
The hotel is right opposite to lake and the ferry stop. The Rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable. The only negative I have to say is regarding the breakfast. May be that is due to Covid guidelines but the breakfast was not a buffet but more like a handout where the breakfast was served by staff from behind the counter which does not gives you the liberty of selecting your food at own time.
Also, there was a long queue for breakfast (again I think because of COVID)
Apart from this, there is no negative for the hotel. I will stay here again if I travel to Verbania again.

I had a good night’s sleep. The only downside was the strong smell of smoke in room 425, it wasn’t fresh smoke but smoke accumulated on the soft furniture. Breakfast was ok but the eggs weren’t very fresh (expiry date very close) and the orange juice was fizzy. Other than that I had a pleasant stay, the staff are polite and friendly. Thank you.

This an ideal 3 star hotel for those who don't need swimming pools or spas. It is located directly opposite the ferry stop giving easy access to other towns and islands. Plenty of restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity.

Great Hotel close to the Ferry Pier
A perfect location just across the road from the Ferry Pier, We had a Lake view room which was spacious and comfortable. We could not fault the Hotel in ay way which gave us an experience far above the 3 star status. Unreservedly would recommend as an ideal hotel for exploring Lake Maggiore,while Pallanza itself still retains an individual charm -certainly we far preferred it to Stressa.

Excellent quality hotel for the price, with spacous, modern renovated rooms and a nice and friendly service. This hotel could easily go for a 4 star hotel if it had it's own parking and maybe minibars in the rooms. In fact, I have seen way worse 4 star hotels in Italy than this 3 star hotel. It is situated right in front of the lake and the old town, so really about the best location one could wish for. Parking is easly available on the public parking spaces in front. We had a very nice stay in this hotel.

Only problem was rally was taking place opposite the hotel which meant the view was partly spoilt, and parking was restricted due to tents etc. erected on car park. We did not know of this in advance. We still enjoyed our stay.

The San Gottardo makes a convenient base for exploring San Remo and around. The sea view rooms give an excellent panorama. The nearby secure parking is also a great asset. The only thing that marred our stay was a throbbing pop concert on the sea front until 1130 pm but the hotel cannot be blamed for that.

We booked this hotel on the basis of recommendations on the net and weren't disappointed. Although our room wasn't the biggest we got it for a very good price and so can't complain. The hotel is perfectly located and the pizzeria next door also comes recommended.

Nice little hotel, one fatal flaw
The flaw is the air conditioning situation. When we complained to the front desk by phone the first night that it didn't work (and it was 85 degrees and humid outside and inside), they transferred us to engineering which blew us off, and after that no one would even answer the phone. We did stay the planned 3 nights and survived by opening the door to the balcony, as the night air eventually cooled us off. After we left and mentioned this problem in their eval form, they answered in an email that the AC is not turned on in June except \"on request\". Make of that what you will. The room and hotel are clean and modern and the location is directly across from the ferry terminal, making for a busy street but certainly convenient, and providing a great view of the lake from the front room balconies. Parking is only catch as catch can in public spaces nearby., and none on Fridays. Breakfast is minimal. Overall we found the staff to be friendly and helpful except for the AC.

Seule la situation et la vue magnifique sur Isola Bella ont été au RDV. Sinon, standing très en dessous d’un 4 étoiles. Petit déjeuner médiocre mais responsable charmante et attentionnée. Pas de hall d’accueil agréable. Aucun endroit où « s’isoler » par exemple pour lire. Chambre au décor minimaliste. Et cerise sur le gâteau, le parking consiste en fait dans des places dans le domaine public qui reviennent à 17€ alors qu’un stationnement par Easy Park revient à 5,75€. De plus une semaine avant le 15 août, impossibilité absolue de trouver une place. Il faut alors prendre son risque, ce qui, en période de vacances n’est pas très agréable.

Wir haben unser schönes Seeblick-Zimmer in diesem gepflegten, altehrwürdigen Hotel sehr genossen und wären gerne länger geblieben. Parken in der Tiefgarage war mit 28 Euro etwas teuer, aber dafür sicher. Freundliche Mitarbeiter, gutes Frühstück, das vorne mit Blick auf den See sicher noch mehr Spaß gemacht hätte als hinten im eher funktionalen Frühstücksraum. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Leider war unser Aufenthalt nicht so, wie wir es erwartet hatten. Wir waren 2 Personen, uns wurde eine zusätzliche Person berechnet. Bei der Rezeption konnte uns niemand erklären, warum. Die Rezeption meinte, hotels.com sei schuld. Die Hotellage ist gut, das Zimmer ok, aber die Toilettenspülung war kaputt und wurde nicht repariert. Schade. Frühstück sehr einfach, kaum Auswahl.

I have chosen this hotel for the Sauna. At check in it was requested to light up the heater. Waiting time 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, the sauna was not warm. The excuse that there was a problem was incorrectly while the door of the sauna was open when I arrived. It was forgotten to turn on. It took another 45 minutes before it could be used.

Forse il fatto che condivide una parte della struttura (comunque divisa in due corpi) con il Belvedere, che è un quattro stelle, porta ad avere una particolare attenzione al cliente con personale molto preparato e disponibile.
La struttura è in centro davanti all'imbarcadero ma è comunque zona molto tranquilla, lo stile è innegabilmente bello, classico ma con un tocco di moderna eleganza, un garbato belle epoque arricchito da balconi fioriti nella cornice rilassante e piacevole di una cittadina curata e ben tenuta. Ci sono parcheggi liberi in zona ma in caso di necessità l'hotel ha un parcheggio privato a pochi minuti a piedi.
La stanza non mancava di nulla, clima efficiente, balconcino (di lato, che si affaccia sull'altro corpo, ma ci sono le tende), bagno pulito, doccia classica scorrevole in altezza (certo, il soffione a pioggia fisso sarebbe più piacevole), un porta saponetta al lavandino sarebbe utile.
