Just spent three nights in this beautiful hotel, visually stunning with lovely gardens and a pool. It’s perfectly located for. 4 minute stroll into Stresa town centre for lots of bars and restaurants. You can catch a ferry to the Borromean Islands just in front of the hotel.

The Regina Palace is a hotel from bygone days of classic architecture with huge imposing rooms with lots of style. The service from the staff in all areas was exceptional, friendly and professional. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

This was our third visit to Stresa and our second visit this summer, but our first at this hotel. The staff were professional and friendly from check in and throughout our stay. The hotel is in prime position for lake access and for strolling into town. Gardens, pool area outside, indoor pool and spa facilities were all excellent and well maintained. Thank you to all at Regina Palace for a memorable visit.

This hotel is absolutely stunning , everything you would imagine from a 5 star resort , the spa and pool area is incredible , with the sensory caves, jacuzzi beds in the pool, sensory showers etc. The staff could not do more, everything is run with complete precision.

We lvery much iked this upmarket hotel - My wife thinks the spa pool and general spa areas are the best we've visited. We had a difficulty with check in initially because we were given a basic garden view room without a balcony and the booking on Expedia was clearly with a balcony. I had anticipated this and had taken a screen shot of the Expedia hotel web page. The room was swapped by reception without further argument on producing the screenshot, so good for them. In fairness to the hotel I suspect this was Expedia's fault - Expedia nb your confirmation emails do not confirm all the agreed details like breakfast and balconies and they should as it would stop issues like this. Stresa is lovely and the hotel is lovely. We strongly recommend

There could be more options on menu for vegetarians. Good location . Beautiful hotel. Most of the staff were pleasant and helpful. If you have an early fight going home -a breakfast bag could be provided to take with you to the airport as it is included in the price you pay but not offered . Would recommend and stay again .

The manager at this property insisted on charging me (a solo traveler) for an erroneous booking (two reservation numbers), even though the Expedia representative called him and explained the error - I was therefore charged for two rooms in a half empty hotel. He could easily have negated the erroneous booking but refused to do so, arrogantly telling me that I could use both rooms if I wanted to. Never again.

The place is charming and location is excellent. However, the reception staff was rude and unhelpful. I asked for advice on attractions/boat trips and was informed that islands were closed, which acually was not true as I had nice boat trip the next day. I forgot my charger but reception had none to rent, I could only buy one if paid by cash. I had no cash so proposed to pay later, which was not possible. The rude lady explained that when I go to a shop it’s also not possible to pay later, hello. The argument that they have my credit card details did not help.

When we stayed there the fire escape was blocked and various items were stored in the fire escape and the fire doors failed to close automatically. I brought this up to the attention of the facility and they corrected everything right away except the fire doors closing. Hopefully the fire doors automatically close now otherwise I would not recommend anyone stay at this hotel.

Would not recommend. The hotel is dog friendly but there seems to be no weight or size limit or quantities of dogs per room. Because it’s an old hotel the draperies and rugs smell like dog. I love dogs but this was more like a daycare for dogs. Regular water is not easily available. Staff is rude and nowhere to be found. Not a friendly environment.

Fourth visit. Fantastic hotel in great location. However We were very surprised and disappointed that pet dogs (not service dogs) were allowed in restaurant at breakfast. Had we known we would not have stayed at this hotel. We drove down from UK. On all previous trips parking for guests was free. This trip we were charged 140 euros to park for week. Although in Hotels.com “small print” this fact was not well advertised by booking site or hotel. In past have always enjoyed sitting outside on veranda in evening for drink. Because of possibility of rain this facility was not available. Would have only required a small effort by bar staff. Apart from these moans very enjoyable stay

Great stay and great staff. Rooms were a bit noisy as you can hear sounds from the hallway and other adjacent rooms. Besides that, only complaint is they didn’t have a “Do Not Disturb” sign in the room and housekeeping ended up walking in on me while I was asleep, they do start cleaning quite early. Room looked like pictures and hotel was unique. If you’re a younger traveler, the hotel caters more to an older crowd but the experience was still wonderful.

The hotel is in the centre of Stresa and opposite the main square / small departure points for the boats. It is a grand hotel and the appearance is magnificent.

Things that should be improved:
- the outdoor swimming pool / jacuzzi water temperature is more suitable for bears and penguins. For such an hotel, it is unacceptable not to have the water slightly heated at least

What a wonderful hotel! It was every bit as beautiful as the pictures. Our room was charming, and overlooked the lake. It was very early in the season, so only one restaurant was open for supper, but the food was delicious and the service impeccable. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and the Sporting Club facilities were great. I will recommend this place to everyone I know!

Fabulous !! Wouldn’t stay anywhere else
Stayed here for 2 nights as a single parent with a 10yr old. Cannot fault this hotel at all. We had a lake view room with 2 balconies, the room was very old fashioned in a good way with gold leaf on the ceilings and heavy curtains like you’d find in a stately home. The staff are very friendly and welcoming , and the outside pool is the best we have ever used. Fabio the pool guy greets you with towels and a smile every morning and he works hard to keep the pool area spotlessly clean. No fighting for sunloungers at this hotel , it’s all very refined and civilised. If it’s raining the indoor pool is amazing too , designed as a cave even with sand effect, shells and starfish on the pool floor for effect ( it’s all under resin so is flat and smooth to walk on ). Towels are provided.
Location is perfect for everything Stresa has to offer , literally 5 minutes along the promenade to the shops and ferry service. Breakfast is buffet continental and is lovely out on the terrace.
One thing to note is there are no tea/ coffee making facilities in the rooms , I think it’s something to do with wiring and plug sockets locations but it didn’t bother us not having this facility. Check out is 11am but they have a luggage room to store bags if you want to use the pool on your last day. I can’t stress how good this hotel is , if we return to Stresa we definitely will choose this hotel again

Stresa is a nice town and Lake Maggiore is a magical place. So great to be there again.

We were very impressed with the looks of the hotel. The amazing garden and the almost royal appearance of the lobby is stunning. Breakfast was varied and tasty. However, the shower/bath glass side plate, which should have sealed the water flow and keep it from running out, did not work at all. As a result, the whole bathroom floor was flooded every time we took a shower. Very inconvenient.

Simply fantastic. We booked a budget room, and i asked if it were possible to have a lake view. We got a free upgrade to probably one of their best rooms, fabulous lake view with private terrace including tables and chairs. The room had a great bed and tge bathroom had a jacussi bath, with robes and slippers etc. Everyone of the staff were warm and welcoming. Breakfast was good with a great buffet choice, the staff very attentative. The indoor health suite was excellent. It had an amazing \"natural\" lagoon, dimmly lit, the perfect temperature. Great sauna too. All in all i would highly recommend and hope to return in the summer.
