Cleanliness was definitely good. Room space was a little tight. Decent breakfast. A solid 3-star experience at a 3-star hotel. Good location about five minutes from the beach. Also well-located for grocery stores, restaurants and boulangeries.

This hotel doesn't fullfill the criteria of a 3-star hotel.
I would rate it as a 2-star hotel.
However, the location is great (it's a 4 minute walk to the beaches of Juan Les Pins), the rooms are clean and the service is good.
I would recommend it for a short stay at Juan Les Pins.

Hotel is in a great location for the beach, but that’s about it. The hotel is tiered, and in need of some love, but functional if you just need a base.

Staff at the hotel are inconsistent- we were greeted by one of the rudest ladies I have ever had the displeasure of meeting in a hotel - her attitude was one of ‘why are you here, why are you bothering me, and what do you want’ - why she works in hospitality I really do not know but Best Western, I’d put her as far away from guests as you can. Throughout the stay, same demeanour with all guests / requests (roll eyes when asking to use an iron, tuts on being asked a question). On the other hand, the older gentleman also on the reception couldn’t have been nicer.

Breakfast was ok if a little underwhelming , - given we’d already paid an addition for breakfast to have a sign up that fried/ poached eggs are a further supplement is just bizzare. Eggs are a staple of breakfast…

The hotel is close to the station and a short walk to the beach and all the restaurants and cafes. I had a room at the back so not too noisy and a slightly better view from the balcony. Drainage out of the bath while showering was very slow but not a major problem.

Excellent hotel in the heart of Juan les Pins, close to beach, promenade and rail station. Clean, comfortable and with excellent buffet breakfast. All the staff were friendly and helpful especially Philippe and Sonia who in particular seemed to go out of their way to make us feel welcome. We first encountered Sonia at check in: she was charming and warm and relaxed but very professional and helpful, particularly over helping us change rooms when we had discovered a small problem. This is one of those awful hotels that won't let you check in before 3 pm NO MATTER WHAT!! They won't store your bag for you either, so I had to walk around in the heat with a heavy bag for hours. The next hotel I stayed at checked with housekeeping and found out my room was cleaned, so I was able to check-in early. That makes a big difference to a weary traveller. Best Western doesn't understand that. :(

The location is perfect as it is half a block to train station and a few blocks to the beach.

We did not like the air conditioning as our room was not cold enough.
However, hotel gave us a fan which helped and then upgraded us to a better room(a suite with a terrace) the second week.

Fun stay in Jean Les Pins at Best Western Astoria

A wonderful stay. The room was very comfortable, the beds great. The breakfast room was being renovated, so we got the benefit of breakfast in our room every morning. The best breakfast. Within walking distance to the train station and the Mediterranean Sea. Lots of fine restaurants nearby, the grocery is very close. I walked to the Picasso and Archeology Museums. A lovely visit.

Nice hotel close to the gare and the beach. We found it very handy. All rooms have a balcony rooms very clean. Breakfast looked good we just used the bakery a few doors down coffee machine in room. Juan les Pins is beautiful and the beaches great but it is expensive to eat out at night. Would recommend this hotel.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences we've had. First, they made us wait until 3pm on the dot to be able to check in, even though we were sitting and waiting in the lobby for 20 minutes. Worse than that, when we got to the room, the bed was uncomfortable and the pillows... I have NEVER felt worse pillows in my life. They were stiff as boards. We told the woman at the front desk about this and after conferring with one of the housekeeping staff members, told us that they didn't have any other pillows that would be better (without so much as checking for us). We ended up calling the front desk at 11pm when we couldn't sleep, and they brought up some pillows that were (surprise!) much softer (though still not great quality).

But get this! The next night, we got LOCKED OUT ON OUR BALCONY. Yep. If you close the balcony door all the way from the outside, there's no way to open it again. Thus ensued 10 minutes of shouting down to passersby on the street, when finally some guests from another room peered over their balcony and said the same thing happened to them earlier! They called reception for us and 5 mins later, a staff member comes into our room and smirks at us through the balcony glass door before opening it for us. Then he took the paper card that our hotel keys come in and crumpled it up to show us that we could jam it in the door. His \"solution\" didn't even work because the door locked again. Laughable.

Location is good, but not worth the hassle & awful staff.

Location is fabulous , quick 1 min walk to train or to water front. Front desk staff was excellent and helpful for directions , questions and any help we needed.

However, the room was not great, hair in bathtub when I got in, I tried the coffee maker because I came in late and “things” were floating in my water. The elevator broke twice while there including at check out time so I had to carry multiple suitcases down 5 floors. The building across the street has barking dogs all night and the street is busy with moped and car traffic at night sonrough if you are a light sleeper as the walls and glass doors are not very sound proof

The breakfast is definitely not worth it, I paid for it one day and went out the rest of the time as the eggs were cold , they had no orange juice left , ran out of some pastry items and for the same 10 euros down the street I got a fresh custom omelette and coffee and crossant

A good, everday hotel!

A good everyday hotel which has the Beach at one end of the street and the Train Station at the other. We particularly enjoyed being so close to the train station because it made it effortless to have days out to Marseille, St Tropez, Cannes, Antibes, Nice and Monaco! Brilliant!

The air-con was on all day long and was free. The bed was comfortable and the room had a balcony with table and chairs. The only issue we had was that the Cleaning-Staff kept forgetting to leave milk/cream in the fridge which meant we had to go down to reception each time.

Staff were always polite and friendly and the breakfast was good value considering you could have cereals, fresh fruits, croissants, breads, eggs and sausages, along with juices, cakes and as much coffee as you could drink.

Had a superior room which came with a fridge, 2 waters daily and 2 fruit juices too. Balcony. We were on the back so was v quite and never heard the train considering it’s closeness. Lots of restaurants. Beaches also close and clean. We loved Juan Les Pins and will be back. Nicer than Antibes we think.

The hotel is in a great location to the train station and not far from the 250 Express Bus stop from Nice Airport. Very close to the beach and near some great bakeries for breakfast. I would definitely stay here again. Our room was at the back of the property so we didn't experience any problems with noise either.

Good hotel near the Regence Bus Stop.

Very good hotel, wonderful and helpful staff. Nice small town of Antibes and Jaun Les Pines. Not very far from Nice. Close to the coast. A few minutes walk takes you to the Mediterranean coastline. The size of the room and bathroom is spacious according to the European hotels.The bathroom is a little outdated but not bad at all. Bus number 200 from The Regence bus stop takes you to Nice. From there another bus for Monaco and Menton is readily available. From the same bus stop you get a bus for Cannes too. And bus number 250 takes you directly to the Nice Cote D Azur airport. There was tea and coffee making facility in the room which was very very helpful at breakfast time.

Visiting and taking it easy

Enjoyed the stay, bed was comfortable and there was coffee in the room. I had a longer stay and would have appreciated a fridge in the room. I liked that there was a balcony and despite being on a lower floor there was not much street noice, this was a January visit so the street is livlier in summer season.
Cleaning ok.
Area is good for close to beach, bars, bakery, trainstation, supermarket and pharmacy and places to eat and shopping. I always eat breakfast out so did not try Hotel breakfast.
Close to trainstation but good that you cannot hear the TGV, I used to live in the area and this was positive.

A well located hotel in the town centre.

A very positive experience. Our room was at the back of the building facing south and away from the street but overlooking the car park. We visited in autumn and the room was warm all the time and we could sit out on the small balcony. There is no a/c so it may overheat in mid summer. Tea and coffee making is provided in the room. Towels were changed and the room cleaned every day. The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful. The street is fairly flat and easy to walk along and although the main entrance is up two steps the carpark entrance is flat. There is a lift all floors in the middle of the corridors and they are short in each direction, no problem about getting lost. Self closing fire doors are fitted at each lift lobby and at the bedrooms. Rooms have smoke detectors and fire alarms and there are cctv security cameras in public areas. The reception is staffed at all times. Breakfast available but no restaurant or bar.
Well worth considering for a short break. I would recommend this hotel.

Our stay here(3rd time) was again comfortable and convenient with a friendly and helpful staff.
We were happy to have a balcony which faced the street. It was quiet at night so we slept well.
While instant coffee and teas were provided brewed coffee is our preference. Overall, we were happy to have stayed at the Best Western Astoria and appreciated the reasonable rate.

100 meters from train station and 200 meters from ocean . Great beaches like 20 smaller close ones then miles more just away from town . Clean,nice people good prices on food . no crooks ,safe,lots and lots of places to wat and good safe clean nitelife .I was very surpraise how nice they are and will be back in sept. i miss my seaview . .

Great Value Hotel - Great Location

A perfectly situated Hotel only 2 minutes walk to the railway station and 3 minutes to the beach. There are a variety of shops and restaurants close by and a large Casino supermarket only a few minutes away.

The rooms are small but very clean and well decorated. There is an excellent daily service with sheets and towels changed regularly. The bathroom was also small but was also spotlessly clean and everything worked as it should.

The beds are very comfortable and the rooms have good facilities. Ours had a safe, fridge and coffee maker as well as a small balcony.

The reception staff were extremely pleasant and helpful at all times with good local knowledge.

No negatives at all – a great value Hotel that would be our automatic choice were we to return to Juan Les Pins.

Wonderful location.

The staff was wonderful. They made excellent suggestions for restaurants for dinner. The only thing I would not recommend was their buffet breakfast. Instead, go across the street where a lovely woman runs an excellent breakfast place. The eggs are very fresh and delicious. Also across the street is Petite Juan, for excellent pizza.

The AC was non-functioning from the moment of our arrival. The weather was quite warm, 35 deg. We booked a room w AC because of the heat. We informed reception of non-AC , and the fellow came to the room and said there was nothing he could do. He said there was no other room available, no fan. A bad experience. In the morning the manager offered us a discount on a future stay, but no compensation for this stay. Haha, after that poor quality room we will not return. We had room 309.

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable. The nearby beach was beautiful. The train is about a block away. If I stayed there again I would ask for a quieter room. We were on the first floor and we could hear the loud voices of people leaving the bars. I would ask for a higher floor next time. Also, do not get their breakfast! The eggs were cold, the sausage had chucks of un-edible fat and the coffee was watery. There is a small place across the street that has a much nicer breakfast for less.

Peace away from the Bustle of Cannes

Fantastic location. Very close to the train station with regular service. Wonderfully quiet at night. Was able to sleep with the windows fully open and get a good night's rest. You can have breakfast at the hotel ( very reasonably priced) or stroll down to one of the beachside cafes. Comfortable and clean room. Only grumble would be the coffee maker... but then the French take their coffees very small. Be prepared for a dribble!

Nice little hotel for couples..

The hotel is situated in Juan Les Pins, not Antibes.. Juan Les Pins is a lovely little place with some great bars and restaurants. The hotel itself is in a great location, about 2 minutes from the Les Pins station and about 5 mins from the beach. The room was very clean and cleaned and sheets/towels changed daily. The balconies are okay. Not a sea view. If you peered far over your balcony down the street you could just about see the sea. The balcony oversees a street, alligned with palm trees, with what looks like student apartments across the street. The rooms are small but good enough, the beds are very large and comfortable. Tea and coffee is preovided daily with a kettle.You need to buy your own milk though as only 2 sachets of milk are provided daily..

The main dissapointment with this hotel is the staff. Not particularly friendly. Checking in felt like going through passport control in a strict airport. Asking for ice seemed to offend the staff and was greeted with what looked like annoyance. We wanted to go to AquaLand one day and asked the lady on the desk that morning if it was open and how to get there etc. She enthusiastically said it was and gave us the details. We got there to find it closed and out of season. This misinformation cost us 2 hours of our day and a train ride. The next time we dealt with the same lady was checking out was when she was extremely cold and quiet with us. Overall staff could be a lot more personable and friendly.

Well situated hotel

The hotel was well situated and comfortable but there was no telephone in the room and on one occasion we were left without milk for the coffee machine. We appreciated the balcony and the (limited) sea view it offered, plus the daily supply of water, milk and a fruit juice.
Dinner was not available in the hotel.

Perfect Hotel

Great hotel, close to the beach and main restaurant area. Near train station and bus stop so everything really is on your doorstep. Staff friendly and helpful, room cleaned daily and always left spotless

Clean, basic hotel near the beach

Everything was good; had a good night's sleep. The breakfast isn't much to write home about so go explore one of the nearby patisseries.

Convenient & Friendly Hotel

The hotel is ideally situated for access to the beach in JLP and the railway station. This was my second stay in the hotel and on both occasions, I have found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful.

The hotel was good but a bit tired. overall no real problem except the A/C only blew out hot air which made it useless.
