We only stayed for one night as a stopover but the pool facilities were a great bonus for us, particularly with the children. A stones throw from the beach, plus restaurants, it felt like a nice resort close to, but away from the mania of the Costa Del Sol.

The reception and bar staff were nice and helpful.
I went half board, breakfast was ok, the first night for evening meal was, chicken nuggets, hamburgers, rabbit, knuckle.
It was awful no consideration given to those on HB or vegetarian.
My bedroom was nice, lovely sea view and comfortable bed.

This is definitely not a 4 star hotel

A very run down hotel that needs a proper clean and a refurb.
Food is very repetitive and regularly cold not.long after cooking.
This is rated a 4 star but would ideally struggle to be a 3 in its current condition.
Stupid wristbands have to be worn to even go to the pool even if you have no food options booked.
Very disappointed overall.

Not the best stay at this hotel

Dissapointed at check in that they just put a purple band on your wrist and do not explain different availability. When you enter restaurant if you are purple you have to pay for your drinks whereas other coloured bands you pay at reception and then no problem in restaurant. Rather surprised they offered me a red wine at 2p or 3p euros per bottle. If offering wines at this price they should have compatible food. We first stayed at this hotel 20 years and most recent before this in June. Our stay in June was for 3 nights and was so enjoyablewe stayed for 5 nights. This time was our worst stay ever and the food was disgusting. Staff remembered us from previous visits and made us so welcome. Your chef should take some lessons from your other staff and smile and cook better food. My wife only had salad and postre. The meat being cooked was bone and fat. The estafado looked burnt. The fish was good once i heated it in the microwave. Sorry but our worst stay at your hotel which I have previously recommended and also brought friends to stay. Glad that we were on our own on this occasion.

Hotel de playa con buena calidad y precio.

Hotel de veraneo ideal para familias con niños. Muchas actividades para realizar en familia dentro de un hotel bastante completo, cómodo y muy bien ubicado en primera línea de playa. Habitación con vistas al mar, grande, espaciosa y silenciosa.
Que se sitúe en primera línea de playa supone un problema de aparcamiento pero merece la pena.

Super loud. EVERYTHING regarding the elevators was an insane nightmare. WiFi only on the ground floor when advertising “WiFi” as an amenity is an embarrassment considering we are in 2019.

Excellent stay,requested on our booking twin beds but allocated double,this was immediately corrected . Reception staff friendly and amazing. Highly recommend hotel for cleanliness, comfort and friendly staff. Food good the only thing I would prefer is better choice of fish very poor and very little available .The Happy Team for entertainment are amazing.Great location on seafront.

Very shabby hotel. No wifi in the rooms. No English tv channels. The food is absolutely disgusting....fish not cooked thoroughly....turkey legs not cooked thoroughly and very rubbery...overall not the best eating experience. Only decent meal was the breakfast. Staff pleasant enough. Room was very clean but very shabby. Would not recommend unless you eat out!!

Not expensive, but it definitely doesn't deserve a 4 star rating. Shabby grounds and the breakfast area is a gigantic madhouse. Never seen anything like it. We had to change rooms twice. First because it was the wrong room. Second because the air conditioning didn't work. But that took 6 hours when , if the staff had been honest, could have saved a lot of headaches. Had to throw a fit and speak to the manager. Probably a good place for kids.

We enjoyed our one night stay at Portomagno hotel. No free parking available except for on the beach front in front of the hotel. Check out was crazy busy with only 2 staff members helping over one hundred guests. Dinner and breakfast acceptable but not wonderful. Hotel very outdated.

Excellent reception staff most helpful and welcoming. Hotel very clean,excellent situation next to beach. The room was excellent,very clean and comfortable and a balcony with view of sea. Unbelievable range of free toiletries including toothbrushes and toothpaste and razor and shaving cream. The food was variable and often cold but there was a microwave which made a big difference. Restaurant staff not as good as rest of staff and three times while we were getting food they cleared the table and our drinks,very upsetting. The Happy Team entertainers were excellent. Will definitely return soon.

Great location right on the beach. Food at dinner was great. Be quick to get the best options. Wifi ok except later in the evening, probably when most people are using it, it was a bit slower but ok. Gym equipment needs repaired and updating. Reception staff were nice and efficient. Room was lovely, bed very spacious.

In need of an update

The hotel is rated 4 stars, but the impression is of a 2 star hotel. It is in dire need of an update, particularly in the bedrooms, and the exterior.
The staff are all friendly and efficient. The buffet restaurant is good, although the grill section is inefficient with constant long queues. Not to forget the tedious queues for the toaster machines at breakfast time!
The food variety is ok, but not up to 4 star standard.
Swimming pools and general facilities are good, but again need freshening up.
Our main area of complaint was the bedroom. Horrible furniture, very cramped, very old and unhygienic tap fittings in the bathroom + broken shower head + dirty grouting + ceiling panels broken. No spare electrical points in the bedroom for charging phones.
I believe the hotel has recently been taken over by the Alegria group. Hopefully, they will concentrate on refurbishing the bedroom areas.
The location of the hotel is great, as it is on the sea front, with plenty of bars and restaurants in the vicinity.
The beaches of Aguadulce are beautiful and clean, with Crystal clear water.

Portomagno Hotel - great location but not 4*

The hotel is situated on the main beach road /promenade through Aquadulce and if you enjoy walking along the coastal paths, cycling, sunbathing on the beach then this is a great place to stay. There are plenty of good places to eat and drink and the weather was fantastic for early April.
The hotel itself is average. The rooms are reasonably clean but could be better. The hotel is let down by things that perhaps we take for granted in UK and the overall hotel maintenance is average with silly items not being rectified before we took up residence ie hairdryer located in the bathroom was broken, only cold water available when we needed showers in the early evening. The hotel needs a little TLC to transform it into the 4* hotel it should be. We only ate breakfast in the hotel once as it was pretty poor although a fantastic selection was available for all nationalities. The cooked breakfast buffet was cold and greasy. No tea was available and the coffee was definitely to a required taste. Due to the hot weather, no butter or fresh milk is available only margarine and UHT milk.There were however, plenty of cold meats, cheeses, breakfast cereals etc if that is what suits your requirements. Overall, the hotel is fine and in a great location. it's a great place to stay if you want to use it as a base to explore Almeria, Roquetas and other beautiful parts of Spain.

En primera linea de playa. Bien situado. Edificio de 14 plantas, los ascensores tardan un poco, pero nada desesperante. Nosotros nos alojamos con media pensión (desayuno y cena), realmente no ofrecen productos de mala calidad, pero la variedad es mínima, tienen 3 expositores, 1 caliente, 1 frío y 1 postre y a cada lado ofrecen el mismo producto. En el desayuno solo 1 de los 5 días han puesto huevos plancha, servicio q suelen tener a diario en otros hoteles, ni tortilla en el momento, nada de frutos secos, ni jamon. En la cena, un solo producto plancha, igualmente nada de atún, jamón, huevos duros para las ensaladas... Yo si volviera no cogería cena...

Hotel a pie de playa pero flojo

La entrada fue lenta y, aunque era una unica persona me dieron una habitacion con 3 camas (la supletoria, no plegable, ocupaba toda la entrada de la habitacion.)
Habitacion en 7ª planta, con muebles antiguos y, a pesar de la altura, con mucho ruido del aire acondicionado colocado en la cubierta del Hall.
El ruido era tanto, que aun estando en primera linea, era imposible escuchar el mar.
El baño tambien amtiguo (aun con bañera-tina).

El alojamiento admite mascotas, aunque en la pagina de Hoteles.com específica que NO.
Desafortunadamente en la habitación de enfrente, un perro me ha dado la noche.
El teléfono del hotel a partir de las 9:30 no lo cogen. Buenas forma de no atender al cliente.

A estada foi razoável. Tivemos um problema porque o frigobar não estava funcionando, mas o pessoal do hotel solicitou a troca eo funcionário que prestou o serviço foi nota 10, tanto pelo serviço prestado quanto pela gentileza.

Tivemos um outro problema porque o ar condicionado não estava funcionando e também a Internet não funcionou.

Grand hôtel bord de mer. Très bon accueil, possibilité de stationnement facile proche de l'hôtel. Sinon il y a un parking. Beaucoup de restaurants proches mais peu ouverts (début avril). Chambre vue mer avec balcon, très agréable. Petit déjeuner et repas correct sans plus. Buffet avec choix et quantité mais qualité moyenne.

Zimmerservice kommt oder auch nicht
Das Frühstück ist für 2-3 Tage o.K., danach wiederholt es sich. Musste mehrfach außerhalb frühstücken!!!
Nur etwas für ältere, schwerhörige Menschen.
Tiefgarage und Safe müssen mit 10€ und 3 oder 4 € pro Tag extra bezahlt werden.
Die Schwimmbecken waren teilweise geschlossen und drum herum bröckelt es gewaltig

El hotel es muy antiguo, el buffet es malísimo, comida sin calidad, Sosa y muy poca variedad. Los ascensores son muy antiguos, lentos y pequeños para lo grande que es el hotel(Hay 5 y sólo 3 de ellos bajan al comedor) , Asi que puedes tardar unos 20 minutos en pillar un ascensor en horas puntas. El servicio del gimnasio pésimo, voy con mi hijo de 16 años al gim y me dice la de recepción que no puede entrar por ser menor de edad, por tema de seguro( la primera vez que me pasa en un hotel)… Algo ridículo para el dinero que hemos pagado por venir de vacaciones y entrando con un adulto. Algo que no me ha pasado nunca, puesto que puede entrar a todos los gimnasios. Alucinante!! La ubicación es excelente, y la vistas desde el balcón.

Este hotel en los años 70 entiendo que tuviera 4 estrellas , pero ahora le sobran al menos 2 , habitaciones antiguas , el parquet levantado y viejo , cambiaria mucho la habitacion si pusieran uno nuevo , comida con un aprobado mas que justo , el cafe ni siquiera es cafe es algun sucedaneo con un sabor malo malo , los ascensores para cojerlos una Odisea.. la ubicacion muy buena , si lo coges con una oferta esta bien , sino no vale la pena pagar mas porque no lo vale.

Muy mala relación precio calidad! Contratamos el todo incluido y jamás he visto tan poca variedad en ningún otro hotel que he estado. Trabajan con el imserso y como no pagan mucho pués no hay variedad en ninguna de las comidas. No volveré. Los empleados geniales en todos los departamentos, a destacar por mi parte la camarera de pisos de la planta 11 un 10 para ella.

Las piscinas están muy bien, el personal es muy amable, las vistas al mar estupendas. Las camas son cómodas y el aire acondicionado funciona. Por otro lado el televisor prehistórico con TDT, en algunas plantas no reformadas.

Estado lamentable, super viejo, sucio, la comida pesima y siempre 4 cosas rotan durante la semana, todo incluido siempre hamburguesa, perrito y sanwich mixto, que ponen tambien en la cena, protocolo covid 0, ni lo mas minimo de desinfeccion, una pena porque en su dia hace 30 años, fue un buen hotel, no, no volveria ni lo recomendaría, no habia nadie en esta semana que estuviera contento ni con instalaciones ni comida, solo un punto a su favor algunos empleados de la cafeteria y el chiringuito muy amables y simpáticos.fotos no hice porque las fuentes rotas, llenas de suciedad sin agua...no era ún lugar bonito para fotos, debi de hacer para que nadie como yo crea que las fotos que ponen son reales, lejos muy lejos de la realidad, bueno miento son reales pero muy antiguas

Ha sido horrible. Llevo muchos años yendo, pero no volveré mas. Este hotel se ha ido deteriorando con los años y da pena verlo. La comida pesima. Coger un ascensor, casi imposible, mas de media hora esperando. Era preferible subir por las escaleras, aunque fuera a la planta 12. Las habitaciones mal, mobiliario muy deteriorado en su mayoria, los rincones negros de suciedad, los armarios con manchas de humedad, amarillentas. La limpieza mal, el dia de la llegada la colcha manchada de sangre.

La experiencia ha sido decepcionante, el servicio de todo incluido deja mucho que desear, todo son pegas, la limpieza brilla por su ausencia, la variedad de la comida ridícula aunque lo que hay tiene buen sabor, por no hablar de los perros dentro del hotel, meándose por pasillos y tardando en recogerlo una hora aún avisando varias veces.
Poca amabilidad por parte de numerosos empleados del hotel.
No volveré más.

Hotel para turismo familiar. Un poco gastado en las instalaciones, pero aún aceptables. La comida buena y a discrección. Buena limpieza.
Fallo: si hace frío por que te toque un día chungo... mal asunto, no encienden la calefacción ni para Dios.
Lo peor: la tendencia al uso de expresiones inglesas en las indicaciones en lugar de usar el español.

Podría haber sido mejor.

Había una tela de araña en el techo por la cabecera de la cama, las sillas y mesa de la terraza las limpiaron al tercer día de estar nosotros allí, cuando me cambiaron las sábanas de la cama olían fatales, creo que a pies y tuve que echarle colonia para disimular un poco el mal olor, la cama hacía un ruido espantoso por lo que procuré no moverme mucho, el cuarto de baño algo incómodo por su pequeñez, sin embargo la situación del hotel es perfecta y por lo demás aceptable.

Lo que mas me gustó es el trato personal del personal de los diferentes servicios comedor recepcion,cafeteria y en especial Juanjo camarero de la cafeteria por su simpatia,educacion y su saber estar haciendote una estancia muy agradable.
Lo que menos me gustó han sido el mantenimiento de las instalaciones tienen mucho que mejorar en este sentido
