The hotel is badly neglected. Hallway ceiling is falling apart, room and bathroom smelled like mildew. Linens have seen better days. We had 2 rooms and both rooms had the same mildew issue. Staff is supper friendly and helpful. The restaurant is quite good and the location is great. It is just unfortunate that they have not renovated the rooms and hallways.

Split review, summary and then more details: Excellent property, don’t expect parking and I hope the front desk relaxes and just opens their doors to paid guests, we can figure out if it’s crowded or not.
This is a very nice property and we slept great and very well priced. But they advertise parking and they have almost no parking and then sold us a parking pass 15euro to a garage a couple streets over. Their hotel assets like gym and hot tub and roof top deck is controlled by appointment and a special key from the front desk. My vacation is unscheduled because it’s my vacation, if the hot tub is full when I decide I feel like going, I can accept that. I don’t need the front desk to pencil me in when I think I might be ready for a soak or what time I might wake up and be ready for the gym. Gym is very small, a single multi-weight machine that is not great and a treadmill, elliptical and stationary bike. Needs a foam mat a dumbbell rack and a new and much more versatile multi-weights machine.

Reception staff were excellent. the room was clean with a great shower plenty of hot water. large laptop friendly safe and small fridge. There were 2 bottles of water in the fridge but nothing to say if they were complimentary or not. the staff at the bar were friendly and efficient but it would have been nice to have had the bar open in the afternoons after coming back from sightseeing and just wanting to have a drink and relax

Location is excellent. In the center surrounded by the best restaurants and cafes. Mercado, cathedral and alcazaba all walking distance. Parking not available on the street but many parking garages around (15euros/day).
Hotel is clean, beds and pillows are super confortable. The only downside is that you hear everything from the street to the neighbor rooms - which are not soundproof at all so you need earplugs for a good night sleep.

Brilliant Breakfasts.

Hotel Nuevo Torreluz is ideally situated in the centre for sightseeing, restaurants and bars. It seemed the nicest area of Almeria, with everything close at hand.

The hotel overlooks a pleasant plaza and my room was at the front. I stayed over a weekend and didn’t find it too noisy. The room was clean and comfortable; the staff were friendly and helpful.

The parking was in an underground car park a couple of minutes easy walk away.

I would thoroughly recommend the hotel and, in particular, the breakfast. At 10€ (pre-booked), it was fantastic value for money.

This is not a 4- start hotel. It’s old, run down, poorly maintained, dirty. There were ants in the room and accumulated bird poop in the terrace. The AC didn’t work properly in either of the rooms we stayed in. This is a fraud and I’ll pursue further action to get a refund

Excellent location with lots of amenities close by.
Very comfortable stay, the staff very friendly and we loved the use of the solarium. We did have to book this at the start of our stay though.
Breakfast was continental and simple but sufficient for our needs.
Overall a great stay and the added bonus of the John Lennon statue being outside.

Check in wasn't warm or welcoming.
The spa is at a rate of €8 p.p. - not advertised on the listing. Has to be booked and only 1 early slot available, so we didn’t use.

There is a restaurant beside the hotel and had dinner there, but no availability for breakfast.

The windows aren't noise proof, and woke at 3am to horrendous noise outside the hotel, with a party leaving. Not a great sleep.

The room was very clean, however, the corridor and carperts were tired.

In general terms I had a good experience and the staff was friendly. On the negative, the room smelled like somebody had smoked before and I had to leave the window open for hours to get it refreshed. The next time the staff should make sure that rooms are smoke free

Desk Staff were excellent and the room was smart and clean. I would recommend this Hotel and the value for money was excellent. The car park was nearly 12 euros and access and exit was a bit tight but very secure.
Reception Lounge had very comfy furniture and WiFi was fast. Highly recommend this hotel and central location was perfect for me.

Do not stay here during construction

There is construction going on right next to the hotel. We were woken up by loud jackhammers at 9am. The parking is behind the building but because of construction you can't get to it easily - instead the front desk gave us a blurry map with directions of how to get there. It took us 40mins to find!!

The front desk did not recommend anything in the area to see, again gave us a blurry map we couldn't even read.

To be honest I would not rate it as 4 star hotel. Pros: location - right in the heart of the city, really good wifi, very clean; Cons: somehow feels outdated, rooms are small, breakfast - although it shouldnt be read as a negative entirely; it was decent but could have a greater variety, if you are staying more than 2/3 days you will get bored, also not recommended if you are feeling claustrophobic, didn't have tea/coffee making machine, just does not have the feel of a quality 4 star hotel.

Hotel in fun old Almeria

Close to main boulevard (also where bus to university stops). Lots of cool tapas bars very close by that are open late. Short walk to the cathedral. Arrived and departed by taxi - driving there likely would have been confusing without GPS or smartphone. Beds were good. Shower was great. Decent wifi. Didn't need or use the heat or AC in February.

Within walking distance of main historic places of interest, main market and shopping areas. Good basic choice of breakfast. Excellent coffee. TV channels included BBC World News. Reception pleasant and helpful. Easy parking!

No tea or coffee making facilities in room - a big disappointment . Unfortunately we were given a room on the first floor by the Terrace, entrance of the hotel and hotel bar. Football matches were played with additional loudspeaker outside the terrace .Being woken up every morning 06.30 hrs with the bar staff moving tables & chairs. The sliding electronic hotel entrance door causing unnecessary vibration & noise. Basically avoid the 1st floor (above the bar & entrance). Was offered a change of room but because of the inconvenience it would cause with packing & unpacking the offer was turned down.

Lastly, a special mention of the staff member with a bob hair style (dark brown) on our third morning. She never smiled. Her approach was rather rude towards us as well as Spanish residents. For exampke, She wanted to double check with her other blonde colleague (very pleasant & helpful) that we had indeed been checked in. When a Spanish resident spoke of the coffee machine not working, she just pushed her way without a word to reach to the machine. Judging by the reaction of the resident, she was rather shocked.

The hotel can be reached in approximately 10 minutes by taxi from the airport at a cost of ~€17 with frequent bus services from the airport to the Almeria main bus & rail station also being available. Located in Plaza Flores, a delightful square in a quiet location, the hotel can be accessed on foot or by car via a number of narrow streets. Nearby points of interest include the Almeria Fortress, the Cathedral and Constitution Square as well as the Medina which are approximately 5 minute’s walk from the hotel. My room was on the 4th floor, furnished to a good standard (including fridge), and had a wide selection of TV channels. Importantly I had no issues with noise and slept very well. The breakfast buffet is good but could easily be made great by providing more choice particularly with regard to cold cereals and fruit juice (currently there are only 2 options available).

In summary, a well-run hotel, in a great location, with friendly staff which I would highly recommend and to which I will be returning.

Very well positioned hotel in historic part of city short walk to nightlife,shops,beach etc.
Hotel very modern,well maintained and clean. Good buffet breakfast in very nice breakfast room. Previous reviews said breakfast at the 2 star hotel, this is not the case.

Overall a great place to stay for a short break in a lively city.
We were lucky to be there for Palm Sunday, fantastic morning and evening religious parade.

One night in Almeria

Hotel was fine.
Plenty of signs to lead you to the Hotel.
Problem...!!...The access road to the Hotel is 1 Car in width,with metal pillars lining the road,which then loops around the neighbourhood and back again!
Outside the Hotel there is room for 2 cars to stop,but they were occupied for ages...after 7 trips we were able to squeeze in,for just enough time to sprint into reception and ask about parking,which was booked in advance!
Their car park is in a different location,needing an access code from reception,but it is almost impossible to stop and get the code!!!
I would suggest that you DO NOT reserve parking at the Hotel,but park as close as possible and carry your luggage....which you have to do even when you use the Hotel car park.!¡
Buffet breakfast wasn't that good either.
Room was fine.
Not a real 4star hotel.

An excellent hotel to stop in with it's central location ideal for exploring the City . And even better a very comfortable bed and pillows followed up by an excellent breakfast in the mornings and don't be afraid to ask for an omelette they are included !

When we booked in we were given a small shabby dark room with three beds. We had booked just a double bed. We asked for a change of room and were given another small room with three beds which was hot. We gave up and decided to put up with it. The last time we stayed we had a comfortable spacious room with just a double bed.

The hotel reception couldn't find our booking but the staff sorted it out because the hotel wasn't full. Excellent parking by the hotel. The room wasn't the usual 4* we are used to, we would rate it as a 3* but it didn't spoil our enjoyment of the hotel. We had a room overlooking the street, it was very noisy early morning.Lots of lovely tapas bars close to the hotel.

Unbeatable location, great option during the Fair!

The Torreluz (Nuevo Torreluz) is a great option if you're on business or leisure in Almeria. The location is really something special, since you're a few blocks from most attractions, plazas, historical sites, from the port, and main avenues. It has a small and welcoming plaza (Plaza de Las Flores) where it was built and it has become a nice spot for travelers and locals alike. Most people love to grab a drink and tapas in their outside Bar (the hotel's one) and during the city's fair (late August) they also have a big tent where drinks and food are offered and hundreds of people gather in the afernoon (2-5pm usually) to listen to music and have a great time. The hotel is not new, but most rooms have been renovated and updated, giving it the necessary facelift, specially in the bathrooms. The smaller single rooms are not very spacious, but are not uncomfortable. I'd say I'd stay there again if I were back in town, and have to really congratulate the welcoming staff at the bar and restaurant, for their service and hospitality, specially Diego! Nice people.

The hotel has had a awesome upgrade since my last visit. The rooms are clean and modern. The staff excellent, multilingual and extremely helpful. the hotel is situated in the old area of Almeria, close to the Alcazaber etc. Walking the narrow streets packed with delightful shopping , bars and restaurants is wonderful evening occupation. The food in the restaurants is upmarket and reasonably priced.

Picked hotel because of location. .. perfect! We love the the old town so great for us. Nice and close to everything. Room was clean and modern. Smallish but fine. Bed was comfortable to. Great shower! Can't remember the name of the man on the front desk who helped us but he was fantastic. Made us feel very welcome and provided plenty of advice about the area. Almeria was a great place to visit and I'd certainly stay here again. Oh. .. Yes the car park is off site but if you can follow the very clear instructions and have no issue walking about 50m then it's not an issue. Certainly wasn't for us!

Good hotel but- would not stay in old town again. constant noise from passers by. Rooms are certainly not sound-proofed. Would be better with coffee and tea making facilities and air con fan does not seem to respond to controls- alway too noisy to sleep, after Spring must be too hot to sleep without it. Room has a safe but only instructions in Spanish. No terrace or pool and impossible to find by walking- maps available from any hotel but streets too small and congested to decipher. Free internet. Only bar is public taverna, restaurant and canteen are next door in Torreluz 2. No tours available- have to rent a car or organize bus/train trips yourself.

Fine for a night but I'd look elsewhere if you were staying longer

Main objection to the hotel was how unhelpful the front desk was. I asked about getting to the airport using public transportation & you'd have thought I was the only guest who had ever asked that question. They didn't know how much a taxi might cost either. Said they'd leave a message for us but didn't. We investigated on our own but that is the sort of thing I expect the hotel to know. Also, bath had shoe shine sponge & comb but no other toiletries. Not even soap. We called about it but it didn't materialize. Fortunately we had some with us but a 3 star hotel ought to deliver better service.

En la publicidad que tiene Hesperia indican que tienen cuatro restaurantes cuando en realidad tan solo tienen uno y además ponen imágenes de comidas y cocina de fusión y realmente es un bar de tapas normal y corriente.

Destaca la amabilidad del personal, la ubicación y la limpieza de la habitación. Se oyen a aquellos huéspedes que no tienen consideración a los demás pero eso NO es culpa del hotel. 100% recomendable.

Excelente ubicación

La ubicación del hotel es inmejorable. Las camas muy cómodas, muy silencioso y el baño muy bien.
Sin embargo, la habitación era muy pequeña para el precio que pagamos y el mobiliario un poco antiguo..

Eigen parkeerplekken... klopt. Maar ze zeggen er niet bij dat je de halve binnenstad door moet om er te komen. Geen flesje water op de kamer. Geen hotelbar. Mager ontbijt. Absoluut geen 4* waard.

Het Hotel is over het algemeen goed maar een renovatie aan badkamer en matrassen zou op zijn plaats zijn. Parkeren is goed te doen on de oude binnenstad.

À faire ou à refaire!

Un séjour parfait!
Chambre familliale très propre et bien agencée.
Tout est fonctionnel, juste les fenêtres mal ésolées, on entendait tout au dehors même fenêtres fermées.
Quartier très calme aux heures de dormir.
Beacoup de restaurants à proximité(non halal, ce qui était dommage pour nous), beaucoup de boutiques en tout genre, ruelles agréables pour une promenade.
Personnels fort sympathique même si nous nous compronions pas(ne parlent pas français et nous, pas l'espagnole).

Une envie d'y revenir.
