Enjoyed the beach front and the various sports and water activities.

Numerous food options in the all inclusive package.

Downside was the water and electric cuts. I have emveem to less developed countries and they have sufficient backups such as generators and water storage.

Was not pleased with the club situated near the reception as was informed on the hotel tour local drinks including rum was included in the all inclusive package. However the staff stated only beer and wine was available which did not make sense as I could get local rum every where else on the hotel complex.

Let’s start with Rohan the manager. He was incredible helpful happy and just couldn’t do enough to help you. And this was only the beginning. The staff every single one ! Happy and helpful. Not a common sight but this was truly appreciated. Kishan at the beach bar a wonderful human. Always jolly quick with drinks. Rai one of his colleagues also the same just fantastic. Soburan the towel lady was phenomenal asked about the holiday what we were up to genuinely
Engaging with holidayers. The boat house staff all of them fantastic. Free kayaking yes please. The restaurant staff. Nitin super shy very attentive. No empty glasses of water. Shaffick was asked for chilli sauce once and remebered every time. How fantastic. Masala tea. Was brought out for us daily. I cannot rate this hotel

Fantastic place to visit Mauritsius.
Located in a lovely bay, the resort offers you variety of activities to do and a wide selection of food for any taste!
The hotel staff is polite and cheering, always available to give advices or suggestions. In particular, I would like to thank Ismail, and the boathouse team!

Excellent! Just left the ravenala following 5 night stay. We had no compliants at all.
We stayed in the adult zone where you get your own bean bag loungers on the beach. The room was very clean, housekeeping are incredible. Each day the room was spotless and care taken with items in the room.
Huge thanks to the staff at the boat house - well equipped, highly knowledgeable and happy to go out and teach. Their english is very good too. The added options of glassbottom tour was excellent. Food was good and plenty of options. Yes there are a few - maybe 3 stray dogs on the beach but they do not bother you and the staff look after them and feed them. Well worth a stay and would go back again! Fabulous sunsets as well.

Overall hood stay.

Overall hood stay, room was upgraded which was fantastic with a private beach.
Hotel rooms and bathroom is in need of a refurbishment. Buffet Food overall was not that good, the best service and food we had was at the kot nou.
The staff at the bistro require customer service training and be trained to greet and smile.

A 3 star at best! Ignore the marketing photos

This hotel is marketed as a 4 star hotel with some amazing photos. These were likely taken when it was built and new. I’ve attached photos of our room, it was actually very dirty on close inspection. I had to keep calling Guest Service all week to fix issues. Cockroach in the room, again not the end of the world but not great.

We were attacked by stray dogs outside of our room and another guest was bitten. I reported it but it was never followed up.

Food is honestly average. On the first day we were told every other restaurant was fully booked at 6.30pm (kids) to their credit, the guest team eventually found us reservations. Strangely these restaurants were always quiet too?

A 20 min round trip taxi to the supermarket cost £26. Surprising!

As we checked out, I gave the feedback directly and they didn’t really want to talk about it. I also spoke to Hotels.com who were quite unhelpful and just referred me to the hotel.

The kids club only had a handful of children in it. The reality is that your kids will just want to play by the pool, so I wouldn’t book this hotel on that basis.

You will most likely eat at the buffet for all meals most of the trip. Just bear this in mind as it can get quite repetitive.

If you get a good deal, it is probably worth it but I would not be happy paying full price for this hotel expected 4 star quality.

Some of the employees were really special. Sweety at the Bistro was wonderful, helpful, and seemed to know exactly what we needed and was spot on. Front desk employees were courteous and helpful.
Food options and restaurants were very nice.
Maintenance workers were noisy in the mornings. We could have done without the initial resort tour prior to check in. The check in process is too long.

The staff really make this place, the bar, boathouse and activities staff in particular. It has a relaxed and charming atmosphere, rather than a sanitised 5star. Our kids (11,9 & 5yrs) didn’t go in kids club but the staff played table tennis, drafts and chess with them around the beach allowing us to relax. The Sunset on the beach at night is breath taking.

We had an amazing stay at Ravenala Attitude hotel. The food was delicious great choice for everyone especially the sushi at Lime, ground floor executive beachfront suite massive & great position, the gardens & pools were spectacular too. Everyone of the staff was so genuinely friendly & helpful, they were all really proud to work for the company who in turn look after & appreciate their colleagues. We got married whilst there, beautiful & perfect in every way. Sneha went out of her way to ensure everything was just how we wanted it. Thank you for all the wonderful memories we will have forever.Totally recommend this hotel 5*

Just returned from 10 days at the Ravenala Attitude, wonderful young and friendly staff, easily got sunbeds and reservations for the many restaurants. Basic evening entertainment, small group, dj or sega dancers. Spotlessly clean all round and the restaurant meals were mostly good, drinks were not premium unfortunately so took a while to find the decent ones. I got the impression the hotel was not full but I may be wrong about that. All in all had a good time and would consider staying at the Ravenala again.

Having just returned from a lovely family holiday I don’t normally write reviews but thought I would share my positives and negatives.
Positives: staff! They are wonderful, so friendly, always happy to help and share all of their top tips and fixed anything that we had an issue with which really made any of our issues no problem at all!! They moved our room as we were at the far end of the hotel to be closer to the pool which was great
Great water sports facilities - snorkelling trips, glass bottom boat, kayaks, sups etc. Good choice of restaurants although food could be a bit hit and miss! Riveria was definetley worth the extra cost. Madame Ming was lovely. Kids club was great and so much on offer. Dolphin watching, swimming with turtles 1.5hr boat trip was great (4,500MR)
Negatives - facilities are quite tired and cleaning in rooms/communal toilets could be better. Our air con was very noisy and leaked as well as the baths. Tick ridden stray dogs which are not looked after by the hotel. A comment we had previously read which didn’t affect our perception as already aware but to note the water can be less ‘Indian ocean’ due to the river meeting the sea, the sand is a little building sand but perfect shallow calm waters for kids to swim in. Quite a few restaurant choices although mainly all located next to each other and food was quite hit and miss. The pool was green and cloudy most of the stay which seemed to be due to an over chemical use. Overall a great stay

This is a lovely property and the staff is very friendly and really try to do their best to accommodate requests. The food is okay. There is a lot of variety, catering to many different tastes, and you should absolutely make every effort to book into as many of the restaurants covered by the all inclusive deal as possible. That said, they are a mixed bag. We really enjoyed Madame Ming and Kot Nou and wished we had managed to get into the Beach BBQ for dinner but were unable. We ate there at lunchtime however, which is pretty nice. We didn't have as great experiences at 'O', a Tavola or Bistrot - the last two relating to the food, but the first, to the service, which just left us a little underwhelmed at the end of the evening. The pools are super, the beach is pretty, and they are right alongside one another so it's easy to go back and forth between them. The room was comfortable though with there kids, we were a little cramped - that's probably our fault, not the hotel's. We may not stay there again, having done it for ten days, but we certainly would recommend others put this hotel on their list of ones to consider. The pictures do it justice and if you really want to just unwind and do nothing, the Ravanela Attitude will do the trick.

This is a lovely hotel. The reception area is really impressive when entering the hotel. We stopped in an Executive Beachfront room which was huge. All the restaurants were good, none of the evening ones covered by the all inclusive were exceptional, but they were all good. We did use Lime, the Sushi restaurant, at lunchtime which was superb.
Overall, I would highly recommend the hotel.

The Ravanela was truly outstanding. Stayed 11 days in Maurutius first at the Hilton in Flic En Flac which was also amazing then onto Ravanela. Our experience was cut short due to covid-19. The first day was unbelievable so many choices of restaurants food was great / pool was great. Not the best beachas the water isn't clear but that's not the hotels fault 😛 couldn't enjoy the last four days as Maurituis went into lockdown so ended up onky 50 of us in the hotel. The staff were great service did slip but understandable. Looking forward to coming back here 8n a few years to experience it properly.

Only one complain and it's very important hence 4 stars instead of 5 stars. You charge for drinks at lunch and dinners for half board and full board guests. I mean you charge for water, tea, coffee and fruit juices at lunch and dinners I don't expect alcoholic drinks for free but water , tea coffee when you are full /half board it's not right.
you need to review this policy. the quality of the hotel/resort doesn't reflect with this policy.
Otherwise we had a good stay.

We liked 2 things: 1) cost that we paid to be in the area relative to other hotels; and 2) the size of the rooms (quite large).

We were very disappointed with everything else. To start, Preet from the reception / checkin area was extremely rude and disrespectful to us. She needs to be removed from dealing with customers directly as she has no idea how to do this. There were lots of flies everywhere - at breakfast, at the dinner, at the beach BBQ, they are all over your food. The food options were also not good. Additionally, the sheets in the room were stained and the room was 15 minute walk from the reception. There were mattresses thrown in the hallways (dirty). All in, I would not recommend or stay here again - unless you just don’t have the money to stay elsewhere.

The Ravenala Attitude is the best all-inclusive resort that we've ever stayed at. The staff and management were attentive in every aspect of the property and services, including in the restaurants, on the beach, at the front desk, and in housekeeping. We highly recommend the all-in-all package. With five different all-included restaurants in the package along with a large assortment of included wines and other drinks, each meal was a treat, offering Italian, Chinese, Japanese, and Continental meal options. We'd recommend having at least one dinner at the Japanese \"Lime\" restaurant along the ocean. The waiter, Pritivee and chef, Nilish, were outstanding, and the marlin sushi was on par with that found in the famous Tokyo Fish Market.

Good hotel - would recommend overall

Cons - Smelly room and front desk staff did nothing at request to change room telling us that hotel was fully booked when other staff told us it was low peak and hotel was half booked.

Staff at Boat house very knowledgeable, know their stuff and do their duty well.

Restaurant hard to get in as they have small number of seating.

Activities are plenty but a bit scattered and because the place is huge, hard to find out where cooking demo for example was happening.

Beach nice but rocky.

Overall good hotel. Some staff just need to learn how to take ownership of a request and see it to the end.

The design of the resort and ambience of the place. The staff in all departments were excellent in tge services that they provided. We also loved the wide range of high qaulity eateries that were there. We ate at 8 of the 10 restaurants and all provided excellent food. We would definitely recommend this hotel and intend to return again, with our extended family.

Very large, modern,spacious rooms. Beautiful. Service was very hit and miss. We were totally ignored at the beach bar when trying to order drinks one day. There was one person running the snack bar one day and he was overwhelmed. We were made to feel really in the way by wanting some lunch! Food very nice and most staff lovely. Oliver at the gym was great and the man working at the balcony bar!

Excillang humble and welcoming staff who go out their way to satisfy all your needs. Room cleaning is average and could be better. Highly recommend bathroom and toilet floor and drainage to be bleached to help the drain smell to go away, specially at night! Encountered a little snake one night walking to our room which was pretty shaky! Ants also visible all over rooms and bathrooms. Birds fly all over as expected but flys do get annoying during dining. Food is the same daily without any wow factor. Gets kind of boring same old same old for breakfast and dinner. One of the restaurants (kot nu) charged £18 for a curry with only 3 prawns that tasted bland. The only thing that’s was great is the welcoming staff and the service provided by them. Hire a car if you can drive and check out the other towns like we did as nothing is next to this hotel but a deserted field.

My family and I had a lovely time at the Hotel. All the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating.

As my family are vegetarian and vegan we were worried about what we could eat. However the staff went above and beyond any expectations we had and made sure we were fed well. For vegetarians, the best option for breakfast and dinner is the Mozaic. Special thanks to chef Mr Singh who explained in detail each of the foods available. Pizzas, pastas and Indian food all came with various vegetarian options. Special thanks to Chatish who went out of his way to get us special vegan desserts.

For lunch, the street food or ordering chips and a veggie burger by the pool are the best options. At the Italian La Tavola, the chefs Ram and Mariano went off menu to accommodate us. Special thanks for that.

The pool was quite cold in August. Depending on day and time the service for drinks could be a little slow. But the staff went out of there way to help us. Special thanks to Mozahir.

The great range of water sports available at the hotel during the day meant we were never bored. Special thanks to Kevin at the water ski area. My sister was a pro at the end due to Kevin's excellent teaching. we did the glass bottom boat and snorkelling. If you go to the area on the beach by the boat house and speak to Steve, he can give you an opportunity to swim with dolphins in the wild, and snorkel at a beautiful lagoon at Trou aux-Biches. It cost us 15 pound a person.

Nice hotel facilities and amazing staff

We stayed at Ravenala for 7 nights. The facilities are great, large swimming pool, gym, tennis courts, etc. Moreover, it offers lots of activities during the day such as live music, water skiing, snorkelling trips, etc. Regarding food the hotel has different restaurants where you can enjoy a variety of styles.

Finally, the best thing about the hotel is its employees. They were all very friendly and attentive.

The Ravenala Attitude in Mauritius is a beautiful, decently priced resort. We had one of the executive seafront rooms and the view is gorgeous from there. The bed was relatively comfortable but the bathroom does lack a bit of privacy as it has a large open area next to the bath, and this leads right to the bed.

Check-in was quick and painless (though the hotel did forget to send the airport transfer which we arranged and paid for in advance).

The resort offers ten restaurants, though most hardly deserve that description. Some are just offshoots of the main buffet area and one is just a series of food stalls. The main buffet area was disappointing as the food quality is quite low. Don't expect anything but very standard dishes, and often poorly made.

Lime (the sushi restaurant) is a highlight, and Riviera is a nice but expensive alternative if you want something more private and special. Just book on the day of arrival as some require this to eat there.

There are a decent amount of activities on offer, including kayaking, paddle boards, table tennis, a fitness centre, a few large pools and some musical entertainment most nights. Five nights felt like a decent amount of time to spend at the Ravenala.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, and seem to really care about the guests' happiness.

We stayed on half-board which seemed like a good deal. Full-board would have added a lunch option but we felt the lunch options lacking so it may not be worth the added cost.

Very Lovely but Far From Everything

Beautiful, peaceful resort. Amazing experience. Great and clean facilities.
The only drawback is that the resort is incredibly FAR from the shops and towns. It is not a walking distance. It is very secluded from everything. Taxi from the hotel is INCREDIBLY EXPENSIVE to get to anywhere. Overall it costs a lot to travel from the resort and it costs a LOT to eat at the resort too.
The pools were very dirty and had dead insects and leaves in them. Resort staff who worked on the beach (beach activities) were incredibly RUDE to us. It felt like we were bothering them when we asked them about an activity. They would also prioritise their own personal chit chat with other employees of the resort instead of attending to our issues. Which i thought was very unprofessional and RUDE. The other facilities like the beach chairs and beach activities were good.

Only gave 4/5 because some mistakes on final bill when checking out with things we didnt have added / things we had already paid for included so we had to have our bills reviewed - which took a bit of the shine out of our stay.

The kindness and gifts I received at check-in were impressive, and I was able to feel the kindness and the thought of customers throughout my stay.

I would not refer this hotel to anyone! Extremely poor service , terrible smelling rooms, high prices and the staff where not accommodating! There were wild dogs roaming around dinner time which was horrible.
Well below the standards I expected and have actually never stayed in such a horrible place.

Ideal location on the beach

Warm and friendly welcome. Room was spacious and we were ideally located for pools beach and restaurants.
We booked half board which for us was fine. Dine around restaurants were very good especially, O Beach, situated on the beach, Madame Mings and the Italian one, quality food. The buffet restaurant was really good for both breakfast and dinner, something for everyone.
The hotel has an open air/ African lodge feel to it and for those of us with a bird phobia, it was very difficult at times.
The pool areas and beach are clean and comfortable, but what makes this hotel is the staff, so friendly, willing to help and eager to please.

Nice Hotel For families with a lot a activities

We stayed 10 nights and it was a really good experience. Nice Hotel wonderful staff the infrastructure really good The food was delicious but the only two things we complained about were .....First, the cleanliness in our room We had to ask for the recleaning the room and they did it well but maybe the problem is the leak of gases from the tube. Second There are 2 of the restaurants that we wanted to go but they are adults only so we recommend they should have at least one nignt during the week open to families

Great facilities, lovely staff but dirty rooms and awful food. Kids loved the pools. We had a serious cockroach problem in our room and it was never really cleaned properly during our stay.

a disappointing stay

The hotel did not meet up to expectations. The cleanliness , service and quality of food was sub standard . I am very well travelled and my wife and I would not recommend this place.

There are far better resorts and hotels on the island which luckily was a beautiful place to explore .

A great stay - and awesome place to come back to!

We had a great time, lots of walks, visits to the gym, great food, dining and services, plenty options and choice between beach and swimming pools and restaurants and bars, very spacious and well managed resort, very spacious and pleasant reception area, there was never a shortage of loungers around the pools or tables at dinner or breakfast, or anything else. All minor issues were immediately attended to after being reported, and resolved successfully. Definitely a place to come back to!

Not as expected.

Rather disappointed with room, food and quality of sea fauna. Needs to lift quality of food and room. Will not book again for the price paid. Also urgent need of getting rid of dirty stray dogs on the beach....

Great facilities, somewhat annoying staff

Very nice facilities with the pool area going to the beach. It could be a really top rated resort if they had a bit better trained staff that were better at listening to people and not just into what is on their own mind and better at just identifying and fixing the unneccessary quirks in the place (fridge area weirdly disfunctional, door not easily closing properly,...). The tours representative was also not good at hearing that something else was being said and repeated. I began to feel that it was a bug with Mauritius that people just try to pull you along (saying anything) with what is on their own mind and not wanting to hear anything else (like the taxi people at the airport that tries to grab our bags), but then we were the last two nights at another resort (the residence) and people were different there. It was a much better experience there, and it almost managed to repaire some damaged done at our first stop (the Ravenala) of our long travel in Africa at an important trip for us.

This resort had impressive facilities and a cool beach vibe. I loved the beach bar, variety of beach lounges and the authentic Mauritian food options by the beach.

Whilst our room was clean upon arrivaI, I was not impressed with housekeeping who didn't clean our room once in our 2 day stay.

The beach waiters and waitresses were super friendly and made my toddler feel very welcome.

The hotel features a large pool with a very large section that is suitable for toddlers (approx .5m), I think there was up to 10 restaurant options, free wi-fi, a variety of water sports, kids club, beach toys for the kids and various flavoured self-serve runs that are complimentary :-)

The beach is not one of the beaches you would necessarily write home about (nearby Trou aux Biches is much prettier) however the chilled out beach vibe made the stay very relaxing.

Best Hotel along Balaclava

Of all the hotels we have stayed in Mauritius (including international chains), The Ravenala Attitude was by far our favourite! staff were friendly and polite, able to converse in English, and always cheerful and friendly. The hotel offered so many activities to do and a wide variety of cuisines at reasonable prices. Loved the decor and attention to details in the design to truly make you feel like you are staying at a home away from home. Will be back for sure! One note for improvement: housekeeping staff while friendly were not consistent - some days we had many towels, other days no towels; the slipshod cleaning job was evident by the ring around the toilet seat and shower head that kept falling off hook because it was not properly attached to the wall; musky smelling pipes that travelled into the room.

Very nice hotel within 10 Km of Port Louis, very friendly staff and they try their best.
Maybe advisable to book FB as restaurants very expensive on an Al La Carte basis

Terrible room initially given.

Stay got off to a bad start as the room initially given smelt of paint fumes and was dusty. The bath and shower were dirty and upon opening the patio door, we got a fishy smell wafting in. Asked to move. It was a painful experience to get another room. Eventually after much argument, we were given a room near the bar which we were warned was noisy. Found the attitude of check-in to be unprofessional and uninterested. The rest of the stay was fine. The grounds are lovely. However, the experience with check-in put a damper on the holiday.

Beautiful place

It was okay. However, I didn't expect to ask for robes and toiletries. I thought the room would be ready and those things would be provided for.
Better cleaning of the room, please! I am not a complainer by nature, however, the suite had dust everywhere. We couldn't even use the bathtub because it was not clean, old water scums on wall tiles in the bathroom.Nice sizable suites, just needs better cleaning. Overall it is beautiful place.

Nice hotel close to beach with lot of restaurants.

We opted for a family room, 2 adults and 2 kids, it was big and spacious enough. Room was clean and nice, though it was far end of the garden away from the beach. There are adult only area for couples which is in front of the beach. The food quality was okay, there are many restaurants to choose from. The restaurants in the beach is basic and food was served cold. Imagine eating cold fish from the barbecue. It is only restaurant that is open in the afternoon.

Large but pleasant hotel

I stayed as after being on the island for business. It was very pleasant. It is a large hotel and tries as best it can to make the experience special for the guests. However, you can't get away from the fact that is is large - it was a 5 minute walk from my room to the reception / eating area and they had to cater for many guests so meal times were quite busy. I did like how they cleverly split families from \"adults\" without making it too obvious, the free wifi is always a plus and being able to shower and change in the transition room before flying was very welcome. It is something other hotels should embrace - most flights from Africa to Europe are overnight and the hotels make you check out between 10 - 12, leaving a whole day in the heat before boarding your plane - not pleasant for you or for your fellow travellers!

Nice secluded grounds, good range of facilities

My wife and I spent a week at the Ravenala on a half-board package - which proved ample for us, given the generous quantities of food available for breakfast and dinner. We had a standard room with balcony, which was lovely and spacious with a large comfortable double bed; although it could have done with a bit more, and more practical other furniture (eg inside chairs to sit and watch TV from).

The grounds of the hotel are a strong point: spacious, secluded and generally well kept, with large swimming pools and ample sunning areas close to them as well as on beside the nearby private beach. The beach itself is nice, if a little small (including a rather small enclosed swimming area). There is a good range of games, sports and water sports activities and equipment available, most free of charge.

The hotel has a total of ten different eating venues/styles (!), of which seven are included in the half-board and all-inclusive packages. The main buffet restaurant offered some excellent dishes and choices, as did one or two of the other restaurants. We were however disappointed by the quality of some of the other smaller restaurants.

Service was generally good, and in some individual cases excellent. But there were also irritations that let things down: for example, the repeated shortage of standard English tea sachets for breakfast, and the lateness in cleaning our room most days - perhaps because it was quite far away from the main area, another area of disappointment.

Unsere Familysuite war sehr gemütlich, die Klimaanlage sehr ruhig und angenehm temperiert.
Das Personal war in den ersten fünf Tagen sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und zuvorkommend.
An den letzten zwei Tagen ( Hotel wohl ausgebucht) wurde man an den Tischen im Hauptrestaurant leider gerne übersehen und man fühlte sich nicht wirklich willkommen.

Reservierungen in den Spezialrestaurants gestalteten sich eher schwierig, da angeblich alles reserviert war....obwohl dann noch einige Plätze frei waren.
Trotzdem war unser Aufenthalt wirklich wunderschön, da die Beachbar, Poolbar
und die gesamte Anlage wunderbar sind.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à l’hôtel. Le cadre est magnifique, le personnel très accueillant, et les services sont de qualité. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la tranquillité des lieux , TOUS les repas et la propreté des installations.

Le seul petit inconvénient : notre chambre était un peu éloignée et située au 2e étage sans ascenseur, ce qui n’était pas très pratique avec un bébé et une poussette. Mais cela ne gâche en rien la qualité de notre séjour. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir.

Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Tolle Anlage und ein schöner, ruhiger Strand. Ideal mit Kindern, das Meer ist flach und warm, so können die kleinen stundenlang im Wasser und am Strand spielen. Das Essen ist qualitativ gut, nur nicht sehr abwechslungsreich.

Manque de propreté dans les chambres; le service des chambres n'a pas donné suite a mes demandes; salle de bains austère et manque de nettoyage. Equipement bain et douche viellot et gel douche non rempli regulierement. Douchette cassée et non réparée malgré ma demande.
Repas au buffet tres répétitif et manque de saveurs; parfois odeurs de cafard dans les plats. Dessert sans saveur. Petit-déjeuner simple et peu varié.
Présence de nombreux animaux errants dans l'hôtel et restaurant ( chiens et chatS)
Meilleur repas dans les autres restaurants proposés en demi-pension. Ben hôtel, tres belle et spacieuse piscine. Les enfants s'amusent beaucoup. Animation du soir sympa et variée. Service au bar tres bien, personnel souriant et a l'écoute. Goûter de l'après-midi excellent.
