Hotel room was shocking. Hand prints on the wall and sweat marks where peopls heads have been when laying on ths bed. Dirts was engrained into the carpet. I was considering leaving and looking for another hotel but as i was staying for one night i decided to stay. I will not stay at the rothwell hotel again unfortunately.

The room was very very small, never actually stayed in a smaller room ever.
The shower was either hot or cold, not possible to find a middle temperature. Not enough parking space which caused a problem but managed to find street parking in the end - definitely not only hotel residents who used the car park!

The man on reception was very kind and helpful. The room smelled very strongly of room freshener and the bathroom strongly of chlorine but there was still mould around the bathroom. The bed was hard and uncomfortable though the linen was spotlessly clean.

This property is adequate for the price you pay. The bed was comfy, the facilities adequate. Our room was a little cramped for three of us, but we managed. We were in town for a wedding so spent very little time in our room. The guy on reception was very attentive and helped us with all our requests.

Clean, but basic and noisy. Took an hour to get a car parking space in the hotel car park. Receptionist friendly but couldn’t offer much info about the town. Much external noise at night. Overall OK but basic.

The Hotel is up for Sale when we stayed, but was clean and staff friendly. Room was Ok but entrance was via car park outside. Converted store maybe. Car park small and parking on street was limited

This small hotel was quite a find. My room was warm and comfortable, with good facilities. It has a small well-stocked bar. It is probably the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in.

I was really impressed by this hotel during our stay.
We was welcomed by the host Suresh who was very friendly, pleasant, helpful, accommodating and approachable.
The room was a good size twin room with en-suite shower, TV, dressing table.
Facility to make tea, coffee available in room and toiletries for washing in bathroom.
The hotel was very clean and easy to locate.
The lounge and bar downstairs was warm, well presented and had a bar. Pool table and further seating available in dining area.
We had the breakfast which was reasonably priced and the eggs made exactly to order.
I couldn’t fault this hotel , especially for the price we paid and would return again if in the area.

Room small, bathroom just about able to get in. No disability access available. When I asked on booking for a ground floor room due to no lift. I got no reply. Arrived to find no ground floor rooms. Despite there being no one in restaurant for food. It took ages to get my drink after asking. Food was about the best thing about this place. Hot and tasty even though it had all been frozen.

When we arrived on the day an hour before a wedding that we were attending to be told the hotel was closed, we had to find another hotel quickly out of town and return once checked in elsewhere. No prior indication or communication, terrible!

The hotel is past its sell by date and needs TLC; BUT, great value for money if you want a bed, toilet and shower for the night. Not a place to take a spouce for a romantic weekend, but what would you expect for this price!?!

I arrived at 13 :m50. The hotel take guests from 14:00 the front door was disgusting and filthy! Nobody came to the door to even let me in?
I think it closed down a long time ago?
I had to find another hotel which cost me three times the amount.

Weird smell in the room. Perhaps that's why there was a plug-in air freshener. Just 2 sockets 1 for air freshener other for TV, I had to disconnect the TV to charge in my phone. The room was extra small also the bed was too small feet were hanging even though I'm 1.85m. I Was afraid not to kick the tv off the table which was at the end of my bed. The shower room tiniest I have ever been, when opening doors you could use just half of the sink and see half of the mirror 😆, The overall experience was terrible and £40 a night is too much though. Maybe other rooms are different but I very much doubt

Parking was limited and very tight
i stayed 2 nights and the bed wasn't made or clean towel or tea topped up basically no one came into the room
there was mold on the ensuite ceiling
bed mattress must of been old as it had not support and not very comfortable

Friendly staff made this a welcome environment

I stopped for just one night to attend a funeral early the next day.
Very friendly staff and I would think that this was once an important building. Needs a little tlc now but comfortable and clean bed and good shower so all I needed!
Breakfast was supposed to be available but I couldn't find anyone to ask in the morning so went to a coffee shop down the road.
All in all I felt a sort of affection for this hotel and it certainly met my needs.

Seems in desperate need of some TLC and a major refurb. I was looking for cosy pub style accomodation and this didn't get close. Don't trust the pictures currently on Expedia Having said that, the guy running it was fantastic, really friendly and helpful.

Friendly and clean. Nice room and a comfortable bed.
Don't expect a contemporary modern look. The hotel is a little old school but it does the job.
The tea and coffe facilities were great in the room. Loads of UHT pots. lots of tea bags, coffee and sugar sachets with biscuits 😊

The heating was not working. I called reception 15 times with no answer. We was freezing after 2 hours of freezing a member of staff arrived for another issue with someone else and finally found a portable heater.

Staff were very friendly, but the hotel is in very poor condition. We booked a deluxe (ha!) double and the room was tiny and absolutely roasting hot, and looked nothing like any of the pictures of deluxe doubles online! It also didn't help that the faulty fire alarm went off at 7.30am and we didn't manage to get a lie in on the Sunday.

Stayed here for work. Paid £50 for a single room.
It was awful, TV and shower not working so was moved rooms TV not working here either. Then the second room i stayed in the fault became faulty and i couldn't get out of my room. Had to call main hotel from my mobile to get the manager up to sort it. I have emailed to ask for a refund however have yet to receive a response

Very tired and definitely not a 3 star hotel. Bar smelt of cigarettes and closed at 9 p.m. without warning. Breakfast room locked at 7.30 a.m. despite having paid for breakfast. This is a builders hotel not a business hotel. Use the Red Lion down the road, it’s lovely.

The owners and the staff work really hard to meet your requirements, they are very approachable and polite, the sports bar is a great area to unwind with a good assortment of drinks at good prices. the room was acceptable for my stay, it had all i needed , en suite, tv, kettle and coffee making facilities. It was a little tired and would benefit from a redec, but nothing to say i wouldnt return,

They say pictures dont lie but they did for this hotel mould in the shower tray walls marked in the bedroom no double glazing and on a busy main road didnt get mych sleep staff ok but hotel needs some money soent on it to bring it up to standard

One night business trip. Hotel looks ok from the front but downhill from there! Parking is tight and leads you in through the bar, which set the tone. Reception was friendly and informative although breakfast was not mentioned/offered. The room corridors to the room were badly decorated and in need of updating as was the room. The bed base was filthy, the wardrobe and chest or drawers were very old fashioned, and there was a fridge balanced on one set of drawers. The bathroom was horrendous and I did not dare use the bath or shower. Not somewhere I would recommend or ever use again.

I travel all over the country and have stayed in 100’s of hotels in the past 10 years. This by a mile is the worst hotel I have ever encountered. I booked two nights but checked out the following morning as I could not suffer it any longer would of rather slept in my car on the hard shoulder of the motorway.
Absolutely filthy beyond belief. Dust that I would hazard a guess is over 10 years old. So thick you can’t see the carpet pattern behind the bed. The bed if you can call it that was like lying on a nun bag full of rocks. Behind the bed was some sort of trap I can only assume is there to catch whatever infestation they have that week?.
A gag inducing stench throughout the hotel of stale cigarette smoke and curry.
Paper thin walls and rooms smaller than I thought was physically possible.
20 plus rooms and 5 parking spaces (when I stayed). Avoid at all costs, you’re better off staying in your car or local park bench.

Needs updating. My room was west facing, curtains almost see through and sun woke me at 5am. Squeaky floors for my room, then both sides, and above me- squeaky squeaky squeaky, no one at reception when I left - 8am. Good food can be found at Toro restaurant a short walk away

The staff were very friendly and helpful but the description on hotel.com (in my view) contravenes trade description act. It quite clearly states on every room style that they are wheelchair accessible which gave me to believe that the room would be either ground floor or a lift would be available. Neither were true. My room was on the second floor and for an elderly overweight woman this was not really acceptable. (the staff were very good at carrying my luggage up and down) Description states that there are blackout curtains in each room = certainly not true in my case, the curtains were light coloured with blobs of paint. Breakfast available on site, restaurant available, again not true although admittedly this is because they are changing things around and redecorating and this facility should be available later this month. I checked out a day early and would not have booked if I had known about the lifts etc.

Great Value Hotel Stay

Great experience in Rothwell. Two single rooms for a quick overnight stay, 10.30pm to 7.15am.
Clean warm rooms with clean en-suite bathrooms. We were met on arrival and made to feel very welcome. Best value overnight stay for a long time. Well done.
