Couldn't fault this hotel at all. From the beautiful grounds, the grandeur of the building, the impeccable customer service, the delicious food, the spacious, elegant room, the clean, luxurious spa. The drinks were a tad on the pricey side, but the mid week room price including spa access was excellent value for money. Would come here again in heartbeat.

I have stayed at hundreds of hotels and this is by far the best, helpful, friendly and professional staff, room spotless as expected. The facilities were also very nice, the spa and restaurant were exceptional. But the biggest thing is the historic building itself, what a place, will !00% be returning when we need a country escape!

It was a lovely room although the floor hadn’t been hoovered in our room (Lustre). Otherwise very comfortable stay. I really fancied the smoked haddock for breakfast but the fish hadn’t arrived which was a downer. All the staff were very friendly.

We had a mixed experience during our stay.
The staff, Macey and Yannis were excellent with their customer service.
Macey took her own time to give us a guided tour of the amazing wine cellar, which was very impressive. And Yannis dealt with various food requests during our dinner, which was much appreciated.

Unfortunately, there were many other aspects of the customer service which did not seem to match the 4 red star rating;-
Emailed to book dinner before arrival and got an afternoon tea confirmation.
Phoned 4 times, no one answered the phone
You emailed us saying you need to pay on arrival, but already prepaid.
Told we may not be able to use the spa if too busy, as members and day spa guests take priority before hotel guests.
Most of the houseplants are in very poor condition
Very dirty net curtains in the main hall. Carpets stained
No flowers, candles or lamps on the dining tables, even though a 2/3 rosette restaurant?
Breakfast was poorly presented, and especially the scrambled eggs, almost inedible! No red fruits/berries.
Asked for payment every time we ordered anything, even though we had paid a £400 deposit!
A simple lunch salad next to the spa took 50 minutes to arrive.

A great shame because it’s a magnificent historical building, so very atmospheric. And there were plenty of well-dressed staff.

The staff at Rushton are always excellent and professional especially Wei, she is exceptional, unfortunately though, the same cannot be said for the current quality of the food! The venue is without doubt a fantastic place to visit and we have always looked forward to eating here, but on this visit, we were extremely disappointed with the quality. On the 1st night we ate in the brasserie and the mains were poor, my wife chose fish and double cooked chips but the chips were probably at best some type of frozen ones and definitely not double cooked, in fact some of them were quite cold. I chose the house burger and the bacon that came with it was also not properly cooked. It was very fatty and bland and the brioche bun was not fresh either. The next morning at breakfast we were very upset to see that it was self service and not as we have always been used to, freshly cooked, that said though, the food was good quality (apart from the undercooked bacon...again!). On our 2nd night we were eating in the Tresham restaurant and that in itself was quite bizarre as we were the only people dining in the room. The food was a sampling menu and at least 3 of the dishes were cold and we were not told that the cost was £105 each and not the £70 we saw advertised on the website. We did get a room upgrade on arrival and a discount on night 1's food, but after that, it went downhill. Sorry Rushton but you need to look at the kitchen and fix it before it becomes completely broken.

We had an amazing stay at Rushton Hall for our anniversary. The hotel is grand upon arrival, spotless, cosy, and beautifully maintained inside and out. There is so much history!

The staff were absolutely fantastic—friendly, attentive, and really made us feel special & welcome.

We stayed in the Mrs Medlycott room which was lovely and very well equipped (the TV in the bathroom was such a nice touch!) and the bed was super comfortable. The spa was very relaxing and spotless, and the grounds are perfectly kept—ideal for a peaceful stroll.

We also enjoyed the three-course Sunday lunch, which was delicious, and finished the evening with cocktails in the bar, where the barman happily made our special requests!

Overall, a perfect stay from start to finish and we wish we could’ve stayed another night. We can’t wait to return again soon. Thank you!!

Gorgeous location! We stayed in a lovely cottage at the entrance. Such a lovely view of the estate and the cottage was cosy with a lovely wood burner.

It was the little details that made the stay average in the end. We have an electric car and had called in advance to check they had charging facilities and they worked, were available and didn’t require booking etc. When we arrived it was a very different situation and became a bit of a problem.

There were other frustrating moments too such as being late to make a dinner reservation but being told we could order room service to later find out they don’t do room service over where we were and then having to push the staff to find a solution instead of being offered one..

A bit of a shame, as it was genuinely a gorgeous venue!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

The staff was the worst we've ever experienced in a hotel. The reception and the doormen were snooty and utterly unhelpful. The price of the hotel rooms were also way overpriced. The rooms don't have any fridge or microwave.
The wifi inside the rooms is terrible and you're barely able to connect. The TV cannot connect to streaming services as there is no internet.
There's no privacy as you can hear every word from anyone far away in the hallway.
The lunch and dinner have very limited options and there's nothing closeby where you can eat or grab food. The fish tartare was cold and the service took way too long as they are short on staff.

Brasserie restaurant was a little like you would get in an old Holiday Inn. Food was ok but only just. It feels like a reflection of the Food service food rather than the chefs ability.
Breakfast too was ok .. but that’s as good as it gets . I am realistic but £80 for breakfast for 4 with 1 only eating continental?

Location & appearance stunning.
Interior decoration was period and sympathetic for the age of the property.
Staff were polite well dressed & at tentative to your needs.
Spa was well appointed, only slight drawback was you need to get the lift up to the spa which unfortunately was out of order, so needed to walk the stairs to reach it.
If you ask at the main hall bar/dinning area you can even have a small tour under the premises to the wine cellar & rooms.
We look forward to visiting again.

We loved our stay at Rushton Hall and will be returning as soon as we can. The building itself is extremely beautiful and you feel like you’re stepping into history. The grounds are lovely for a walk (although would be nice to have more outside lighting at night, as it was very dark trying to walk around after dinner). The spa has excellent facilities - the swimming pool is warm (which is rare!) with a comfy hot jacuzzi and dry and wet sauna/steam rooms, and plenty of beds around the swimming pool.
We stayed in the Cedar room - The bedroom was spacious and comfy, with a large bed, smart TV and great coffee facilities. The bathroom has a large power-shower, and a bath with its own TV. The only thing that would’ve made it better would be to have a small fridge with cold drinks.
The restaurant and bar were great with an excellent breakfast. Overall it was a fantastic stay, and we are excited to return!

Lovely location and setting.
The hotel is impressive and intresting history. Large rooms and very comfortable bed slept really well.
However once you look on more detail the cleanliness is not 100% and needs better up keep in certain areas. Room had cob webs / hairs in bath / stains on carpet and walls need a fesh coat of paint, some paint peeling off in areas.
Food wasnt that good for price and didnt have breakfast as was a buffet and generally buffets cheap,would have been nice for more options.also would expect at £4.50 for a tea it would have been loose leaf rather then a tea bag. That said for £103 for night its a good deal for amount of space and location. Bit of hike to room so if your older or cant lug your case and walk to far ensure you book nearer reception on ground floor, lifts not working. I would stay again but go out to eat as food expensive and not worth the price didnt enjoy dinner.

So we had to drag our suitcases outside and then up a ramp to the hotel front entrance .

We didn't find the spa cafe though 😂

Beautiful old house in very peaceful and pleasant surroundings. However, the grounds looked larger on their website and disappointingly you could walk round them in less than 10 minutes. Apart from the spa/pool, in terms of a games room, they only had a snooker room which was locked for the three days during our stay. On a positive note, the room was comfortable and clean and the staff were all very friendly and polite.

Stunning place , soaked in history was just perfect for what we needed , lovely restaurant and brassiere fully deserves the four Stars they have , the grounds are beautifully manicured just a great place to go and relax.
We tried out the Spa not too busy but had everything you needed.
There are only a few little niggles if you had to pick something the carpet in our room looked tired but that’s it really. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the food in the restaurant was very tasty excellent standard, the breakfast was plentiful although a little pricey but I can see why with how much is on offer and the quality of the produce.
We will return to this magical place.

What can you say about a property built in the 1400’s. Absolutely amazing. This place has so much character and charm. That said, any old property comes with upkeep challenges. They have done a good job, but we had little issues. No privacy blind on the bathroom, floor to ceiling window. We used towels to block the window. Refrigerator and phone in the room did not work. AC was great. Bar had no tap beers and everything was expensive to include the restaurant where the portions were very small. Staff were very nice. Did not try the spa so cannot comment on that. Nice for the experience, but would not do it twice.

An amazingly well kept 16th Century (some parts are older) Stately Residence now offering relaxation and top rate hospitality in a beautiful setting. They say Northamptonshire is all Spires and Squires. Rushton Hall Hotel delivers this experience just minutes from the A45 and 20 minutes from the A1.

Highly recommended to the overnighter or weekend stay. You won't want to leave, belive me.

An enjoyable stay in an historic country house

We visited Rushton Hall hotel for a short break, attracted by its history, the ability to go for walks in the grounds, and the spa. On arrival, we were upgraded to a larger room, which had a generous super king bed and an enormous bathroom, in the old part house.

The bed was comfortable, with quality bed linen, and our bathroom had both a shower and a deep freestanding bath. The towels were lovely and fluffy, and were changed daily. A bonus was the addition of air-conditioning, although it's location meant you've got a bit of a breeze if you left it on overnight. The decor was a little tired in places, but it did not affect our stay.

The house itself dates largely from the 17th century, and the wood-panelled interiors are what you would expect of an English country house. The Great Hall and the Drawing Room are particularly impressive, but it was also lovely to sit and have a drink in the central courtyard.

Breakfast was not included in our package, and it was an extra £20 per head. However, the buffet (both continental and cooked), meant you had a good choice, and additional items were available to order at no extra charge (such as poached or fried eggs, vegetarian sausages, kippers, etc).

We ate our evening meals in the Brasserie; quality was good, some items better than others, although desserts were very nice.

Staff were obliging and very pleasant throughout. We would happily return.

Room was way better than I imagined with a view of the gardens.Nice large and comfy bed and decor was a high standard.Booked a superior room so got an entrance hall and dressing room.
Grounds were stunning and enjoyed a walk before a nice evening meal.
The hotel bar was in the great hall which was an amazing location.
The only let down was the WiFi and phone reception.Probably due to the location and age of building.
Would recommend to anyone wanting a luxury break away in the country.

This place is very charming and picturesque. The staff were very friendly and the food was tasty and served quick. The SPA is lovely and clean and it was a very relaxed stay.

Absolutely wonderful night spent at hotel from the moment we were met at the door by David, the concierge. He looked after us and it was very much appreciated. Brilliant place to stay, the grounds are amazing and the spa refreshing.

OK but needs a makeover

The hotel was in beautiful grounds and ideally suited for a wedding venue. We were just on a one night stay, breaking up a long journey up north, and the hotel was fine (if, compared to other 4 star hotels we have stayed in, somewhat expensive). The public rooms were quite impressive and the food in the brasserie restaurant good. The problem was that the whole place was a bit \"tired\" and needed money spent on it. For example our superior room was clean but had marks on the carpet and flaking paintwork. Also the TV was in the wrong place making it awkward to view from in bed. Worst of all was the bathroom which was badly in need of a makeover with mould and cracks on the walls, and cracks on the floor around the bath and toilet. Also light over the sink was unusable as it flickered and the toilet seat did not fit the bowl properly. I could go on but you probably get my point.

The hotel is a beautiful building in an amazing rural setting. The room was spacious and luxurious and the food at breakfast and dinner was superb. The staff were all really friendly and helpful especially Dave the concierge and Shirley the breakfast waitress, who really went the extra mile to make us feel welcome.

All round very good except for the evening dinner. The lamb was quite expensive and not enough to feed a small child. None of the waiters had advised us to order more side dishes ( and at a cost of £30 you shouldn’t really need to).so we were still hungry following the dinner and had finished within 5 minutes of starting. At cost of approximately £140 per couple it didn’t bode well with my other half.

Out stay was lovely tge air con didn't turn on and the phone in the room didn't work also the room that was the main picture was what I thought we booked we didn't get that room and was told by reception we should have requested that room witch was annoying but apart from that our stay ticked all the boxes

Good hotel... Poor room choice

I like this hotel and use it a lot...and thought my luck was in this time when offered an upgrade... Sadly... The room while lovely was next to reception...
So noisy until the early hours with people and staff coming and going... And the reception music is on a speaker next to the bedroom wall was playing until well after midnight... Will be careful accepting an upgrade next time

Overall disappointing but great staff

The hotel could do with a facelift, appreciate it’s an old English hall but I this falls short- I have stayed at other manors and halls with much more comfort. The carpets in the bedroom are stained, the sheets also had stain marks and the bathroom had mildew. The spa was overcrowded and not so relaxing as children are allowed during certain hours of the day. It was a very uncomfortable stay unfortunately and I found myself rushing to leave at first light on the day of check out. The redeeming quality of the hotel is definitely the grounds and the restaurants. The 1593 Brasserie is lovely, and the dining experience at the Tresham is one of the best- our waiter for the evening was a 10/10. As a consolation for my experience I was comped breakfast, the staff are attentive where possible.
