Staff were friendly, efficient, polite and kind.

Room was of a good size and the bed was really comfortable. Bathroom was clean and well maintained.

Older building compared to other APAs I have stayed in, but very clean and spacious. Probably more spacious than the newer orange APA buildings. My stay here was very short but the location is a bit of a walk to Sumiyoshi station.

Terrible condition hotel, I was embarrassed to have to make my family sleep there. Ripped wallpaper and bathroom like a portaloo at a music festival. Staff changed my room and the new one was rubbish as well, no apologies, just sternly replying like robots. Do not stay there, it is not a good experience.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Good location if you really want to learn how to use to the Tokyo Subway system.
Close to two Subway stations, as well as a bus stop.
Also, I forgot my sandals when I left and the staff hung on to them, and I was able to retrieve them the next morning.

Building is slightly dated, and there’s only one elevator. Staff is very nice and the room was decently sized. It was very nice and quiet and peaceful. It is a bit of a walk to the nearby train stations especially with luggage.

Fairly good hotel but inconvenient place

I stayed in a smoking room so naturally the place stank a bit and was a good bit stained. But I think given that it was a smoking room it was clean enough. Bed frame was old though it had an FM radio built into it which was interesting. The real downside was the location as it wasn't close to any major (or minor) train stations.

We enjoyed our stay and the staff were very helpful. Our room had an amazing view of Tokyo Skytree and the skyline. The in room ventilation only had limited effect, so me careful during hot weather. But in Fall we were comfortable.

I’m not sure anyone can call it a hotel. It’s just too old and dirty. We booked a non smoking room but when we got inside we immediately smelled smoke. You can tell that the beds were very old because of torn bed frames. The cabinets on the side were rusty and the bathroom was full of molds. We requested for extra pillows but the extra pillows were too thin. The only thing that looked new was the electric kettle.

You can tell most of the money goes to the front desk while the rooms are mediocre at best. Bathroom I'm a small broom closet, out of date torn apart floors, walls had stains and just needs a full update. Staff was very friendly, but that was the only thing. If you like an area away from touristy things it's nice, but otherwise you'll be doing a lot of traveling to get to places.

Good room size but run down hotel

Location of hotel is in between 2 stations. The walk is okay for adults, however for families with young children is not recommended to walk 500m with several small roads to cross.
Room is large with good space to open 2 big luggages. Bed size is super single which is big in comparison to other hotels. However, beds are not firm, felt like the spring is worn out. The toilet seat cover for our room is missing. Will have to be really careful placing the towels just above the toilet bowl 🙄
The hotel needs a renovation for sure.

Easy check in and check out . Had to clean the tub because hair was in it. Just a few blocks from the train stations. 7 eleven is down the sidewalk. The area is nice and quiet.

This Apa Hotel is probably one of the only ones that actually has HUGE rooms. We had heard that a lot of Japanese hotels were very small, but this one had a kind of living room space. We had 2 large beds, 1 twin size bed and a couch. If you are looking for a space that is comfortable in size, then yes book this hotel. There are limited dining places nearby, but the staff was very helpful with everything we needed

Not quite the location I had anticipated but thats my fault not the hotels. The staff were wonderful. Very diligent workers and always helpful.
Enjoyed the beds and space. Great place to be in, quiet and away from busy city hustle and bustle. Close to transportation also so very convenient that way.

Only thoughts from experience would be some modern renovations could be done and more specific cleanliness could be done.

There were stains and what looked like splashed fluid marks on walls and cabinets etc. Bathroom had an odd smell.

Otherwise everything else was well kept and in good shape. Staff were always nearby and willing to help with anything you needed.

Much appreciated.

There's a park nearby with a 1 km trail that is great for walking. Nishi-Ojima Station is in walking distance. The roons were very quiet. Therevare several restaurants in the area. Washing machines were convenient but very small. Be careful not to overload them or your laundry won't dry. Would recommend astay there for an inexpensive hotel.

The staff is extremely nice and accommodating. The location is in a more residential area and not a lot of tourist like closer to Tokyo station. However, it is only a 7 minute walk to the subway station so it easy to get around Tokyo. It is dated, but they keep it very clean. The room is a nice size. We had three and got the two twins with a sofa bed. It also has a seating couch area as well. My only complaint is that there is not an AC as shown in Hotels.com. But they did have a fan that we could put ice in to cool the room down a little bit. I just had to ask at the front desk. It is a good value to hotel to stay at if you are in Tokyo.

I had a good sized room (for Tokyo) over-looking the main road. The bed was very comfortable. As my bag was delayed arriving from Europe I was very happy with the razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb etc that come with rooms in APA hotels. The staff were excellent and helped me with my delayed bag as well as loaning me an umbrella. The hotel is in a quiet part of the city near a nice park, convenience stores and places to eat. It is only an 8 minute walk to Sumiyoshi station where you can access both the Shinjuku line and the Hamonzon line. Using these lines you can access Shibuya, Shinjuku, Oshiage Skytree etc and this makes it quite easy to access Narita airport and Haneda airport.

Overall was a nice hotel, staff was super helpful, room was nice. Couldn't really expect much more service wise, but having the tv not be able to play local channels, or have a HDMI port that was exposed so you could hook up your laptop to the tv so you could watch your own movies was kind of a let down. Also, the plugs in the walls did not have a ground plug so even if there was an HDMI port on the tv one could reach, without an adapter or something you would not be able to charge your laptop.

The hotel rented me a room for 3 nights knowing the air conditioning system was not working. The windows would not open, so the tiny room was hot and stuff. Despite complaints to the staff, they were indifferent. They said they’d adjust the bill for the 3 nights. But they did not.
A terrible hotel and a cheating staff — not typical for Japanese.

Overall good. But my room was very unusual -- twin bed tucked into an alcove, tight against the walls on both sides. That's odd, but not bad. But then the closest outlet to charge my phone was around the corner from the foot of my bed, despite the fact there were controls on the headboard for room lights, radio, alarm clock, etc. Additionally, the two pillows were more like a firm pad of some sort -- not a pillow. And the bedding had no top sheet, but was a sheet/duvet that was not designed to be tucked in at the foot of the bed, so cold feet all night.

Quiet neighborhood.

The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, a short walk to the subway with several restaurants and convenience stores in the surrounding area. There's also a mall about 15 minutes walk away with local shops, supermarket, food court, and restaurants. The hotel staff is very nice and helpful. The beds were very soft and uncomfortable so they flipped the mattresses for us which was a huge improvement.

We knew exactly what we were getting with the size and age of the room but the bad wifi connection was unexpected. Overall the staff was friendly but the level of service was hit or miss and we were misinformed a few times as well. Bed was very comfortable and room was quiet. Shower leaked and over all room size was comparable to a cruise cabin. Loved that it was located within a 5 minute walk to Sumiyoshi subway station since we used it everyday. Family mart located within a short walk was a great convinience store with a really great selection. We loved the location of the hotel because it was away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, Shinjuku, and Shibuya. Tokyo sky tree was a great close tourist spot to visit.

We arrived at 14:10 to find out we could not check in till 15:00, while we appreciate these rules after traveling for 20 hours there could have been some leeway since there is no seating in the reception so we had to walk to the local park to sit down. After 2 nights the room was always made up for 1 person so we had to keep going to reception for extra towels.

Hotel was nice and clean. The room was not huge, though not as tiny as some in Tokyo. The room had a self-contained bathroom and toilet, wardrobe, tv and desk.
The hotel restaurant was a Chinese restaurant, it had nice food but a limited range especially at breakfast.
The staff were very friendly.

Nice hotel for this area

This was a nice and clean hotel. staff did not speak a lot of English but we got by. Rooms were warm as they control the temperature so we had to move to another room that allowed us to open the window. Just remember thus is a basic room with bathroom, bed and tv with no english channels. Would stay again.
