Excellent hotel, great location excellent room, we stayed in suite 222 three balconies with a sea view. Rented the e bikes a few days in a row and really enjoyed the trails from Piran to isola and further. Would stay again

During our stay the air conditioner in our room started dripping around the time we went to sleep. It dripped all night, which made for a very poor night’s sleep. We put towels down to catch the water and were very concerned about slipping on the bathroom floor in the middle of the night. When reported to hotel staff in the morning they did not seem surprised and offered no compensation for the inconvenience which was disappointing.

Everything was excellent except one little thing but means a lot to us . They offered to take us to the next town that was 5 minutes driving, and to have dinner there but when we checked out today, i see extra charge of 20 euros for that ride that I never had before at any 5 star hotel. Also their sewer was very old and smells. Also the water is not going down the pipeline and the shower temperature is changing from hot to cold when taking bath

We enjoyed Kempinski a lot because the staff were helpful and friendly and it was across the street from a swim beach which although it was quite packed, Hotel Kempinski had its own lounge chairs, etc.
Fast and efficient shuttle or taxi service to Piran.

Asked to upgrade at check in and was told I could not upgrade. Front desk check in was not a pleasant experience. No welcome drink no explanation of bike rentals. Hotel is beautiful great location but we didn’t spent an extra dollar in the hotel because of the check in experience. Construction across the street starts at 7:00 am. Stay somewhere else

From the moment we checked in to the overall time we spent at the hotel, every single person welcomed us warmly and treated us well. Adrian checked us in and very thoroughly gave an overview of our expectations, the Concierge spend a lot of time making sure that we could maximize our time, the breakfast host was very welcoming. The hotel is in a beautiful location, very modern, and convenient. It is surrounded by many restaurants and it was hard to choose which one! We had an incredible time and can’t wait to come back.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful, both inside and out.

Every amenity you could think of is available, making it the epitome of luxury. The bed and bedding were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. There are also a lot of great dining options right across from the hotel, in addition to the fantastic restaurants inside.

If you're looking for a splurge-worthy experience, this is the place to stay. Five stars for a reason!

Lovely hotel with comfortable rooms and lovely common areas. Staff all lovely. We arrived during a period of unrest as there was a massive fire opposite the hotel and police tape all around half of the building - there was excessive smoke, including in the hotel itself and the outdoor pool was closed. Whilst this wasn't in any way the fault of the hotel, it did detract from our experience and the hotel management could have done better at managing this e.g. by a resort credit or other amenity to make up for the inconvenience.

Grand hotel with lots of amenities and a view

We upgraded to a deluxe room, which was so grand. Great views from the patio (small table and chairs). Wish we'd had more time to take advantage of the amenities, but dinner at their restaurant (in the Michelin guide) and breakfast outside on their covered patio were lovely.

Even though there is a private area on the beach, the water is not very clear. We used the indoor/outdoor pool instead but the AC in the indoor section broke and it became unbearably hot. Even though we complained, they didn't fix it for 3 days.

Warm recommendation for Kempinski Palace Portorož

We had an amazing week at Kempinski Palace Portorož with my family. We also celebrated my mom’s 70th birthday. Everything was great and the staff did their very best to make mom feel special and all of us feel like home. Portorož and Piran are amazing places to spend an active holiday next to the sea in the spring and early autumn.

Nice staff, especially Marco at the front desk who helped us with dinner reservations and even drove us to the restaurant in Piran and introduced us to the owner. Ester gave me a very nice message and my wife a nice facial. The bartenders were also nice, and the pool man was helpful as well. Overall, the hotel was wonderful and if we return, we will definitely stay at this hotel.t

The properties very nice but we had some problems with our room. The lights kept flickering on and off and the air conditioning did not work very well. Also, unfortunately a roach was climbing on our wall. We told management and they didn’t do anything further. The beach is nice and is run has very nice staff to assist. The food and breakfast was very high quality.

Good location on the sea front with a selection of shops and restaurants close by. Also a short trip up to Piran which is a very picturesque medieval walled town with a good selection of shops and restaurants. Location is great and the service was impeccable. Room is dated and could use a renovation -- especially the bathroom (and I stayed in the modern wing). The gym is terrible. They need to replace all the equipment and put in mirrors on the walls (there is just one small one).

Booked the Laguna suite with the hot tub. Everything was amazing and we also had a great time in the hotel spa, free of charge. Bed mattress was not as comfortable as I’d hoped though. Breakfast was in a beautiful baroque style hall. Plenty of delicious food.

Very good. Enjoyed our quick stay in the hotel’s traditional rooms. Breakfast was amazing and delish. Loved the white chandelier ballroom. Did not have time to use the spa. Instead we walked to Piran and enjoyed the beautiful Adriatic views with the alps on the horizon.

Probably still the best hotel on the riviera. Great service, glorious breakfast room. Quiet hotel, even though there was a wedding at the time. Great pool area with heated sea water. Only down thing was a bit pushy valet parking staff and stressed concierge.

Breakfast well below kempinski. Narrow choice and variety. Bad coffee and cookies. Lots of eggs. True that they offer it till noon.
Sometimes bananas are already mashed. Few nice cherry tomatoes are exposed as decoration. The offered veggies aren't so good. 3 kinds of cheese, ham and cookies. :(

Beautiful Facility with Lenngthy Check Out Time

The room and the staff were great. Our only issue was how long it took us to check out in the morning. The guest in front of us took forever and wouldn't stop asking questions or making requests. Your rep was still very nice to her but could not hurry her up. I actually timed that guest's check out--over 35 minutes! This was the last thing we experienced before leaving your hotel. Other than that, all was great.

Explored the area, using hotels mountain bikes, excellent bike trails.
Had room overlooking the pool and Main Street, noisy at night from local nightclub.
Superb breakfast, with great choice, fresh orange juice.

It is a lovely hotel which served an excellent breakfast. The pool area was very well maintained and the attendants very helpful. However, to be charged 7.50 euros for a cup of tea, was outrageous! I didn't mind paying premium prices for the alcoholic drinks, but for a cup of tea?!

It was a lovely hotel and we stayed x 1 night as we are travelling around Euorpe. We had stayed for 6 nights in Ljubljana and then travelled to Portoroz. Kempinski Palace is beautiful and wonderful old world charm. It has been completed renovated but still has old façade.

Fantastic hotel! Well worth spending the extra money in comparison to other hotels in the vacuity.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating. We arrived early to check in, so were seated on the terrace with prosecco and nibbles until our room was ready. The cleaners were first class although after the first night we could not understand why some pillows had disappeared! Only to find out they came in out room twice daily. The cocktails were amazing at the Palace club to finish the night off. Slightly pricy but well worth the money. We had a 7 course meal cooked by a guest chef with complimentary wines that was amazing. The only let down was that most of the breakfast items were cold. The cereals were fantastic though - with plenty of choice. On the whole would love to visit this hotel again. Was very sad to leave for the airport!

Very nice hotel, with great restaurants and pool area. Not as child-friendly as i would have hoped (separate pool and small play area would have been useful) but not a big problem. Overall, we had a very good experience. Staff was generally very welcoming although some exceptions. Given the stars of the hotel, i would have liked to see more healthy food options at breakfast. The check-in service was poor, with very little information provided, so remember to ask for all facilities of the hotel if they do not tell you!

Very plush hotel in a boring town.

The hotel is pretty amazing, though it had the worst internet I have seen - it would block so many sites (e.g., if you clicked through a link in an email from a hotel or airline it would block the site). The horrible internet they had prevented me from booking airplane and hotels easily. The town itself was very boring, so there is not much to do outside of the hotel.

Luxurious hotel in modern European style

For years we passed this hotel, before it was renovated, and thought how wonderful it would be if someone would take this beautiful old building and make it useful again. Well, they have and we are so happy they did. There is a rich history surrounding this old building from the early 1900s. The renovation is done well, if you like modern European style. But in my opinion they should have kept to the original style and celebrated the era it was from; brought history to life. Other than that, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were spacious and clean with deluxe ammenities, and the breakfast was extra lovely out on the patio with a delicious buffet. We will be coming back.

Overall a wonderful stay

The hotel and staff were lovely. Restaurants of a similar standard to the hotel were limited in this are. Though the food at Sophia was lovely, the wine was good but over priced plus we were the only dinners.
May be if the wines were more reasonably priced other residents may appreciate the lovely food and enhance the restaurant atmosphere.
