The stay was fine, good shower, A/C and small balcony, bed was just ok for a four night stay. Great location in a lovely part of the city, staff were very nice too, breakfast was at the Olive restaurant right next door and was very good. Overall I’d recommend this hotel for the cheap price I paid.

Kathmandu was great!

My stay was fine, hotel was in a great location, staff were really friendly and very helpful, you have to insist on room service relating to changing bedding, which was not an issue with me. Wifi and shower was good no issues.. I would recommend staying here for the price I paid.

I found my stay at Thamel grand hotel very pleasant and peaceful.The hotel room was very clean and the customer service was excellent.The staffs were very friendly and helpful. They also arranged my trekking to Annapurna base camp at very affordable price with a very experienced tourist guide service.Food and beverage were delicious at their cafe. They even picked me up from airport which helped me a lot as I was very exhausted.Overall I recommend everyone to stay at this hotel while you travel to Kathmandu.

The stay in this hotel was wonderful. The rooms were clean spacious and tidy. The staffs were like friends and brothers. The breakfast in black olives Cafe was very heavy and healthy. Free and spacious parking area which is hard to find in Thamel.

Well my friends recommended this hotel to me, they stayed here for quite a long time back in 2019. I felt very welcoming during the check-in time and the staffs where like my buddies they treated me very nicely with lots of love and respect. The hotel even took care of my luggage when I was out and helpd me arrange my trip to Annapurna base camp with their professional and experienced guide on a good budget. I was delighted with the breakfast they provided me from the black olives Cafe also the management here is exceptional.

My hotel experience in Thamel Grand was one of the best experiences I had. Actually I booked for one night, then I went trekking for 13 days, later returned to the same hotel because of the hospitality they provided to me and extended my booking for the next 5 days in Kathmandu. The location was the best part, The hotel is little inside from the busy street therefore there was no noise at all and I felt very safe in this hotel. There was hot water every time I tried to take showed and the people around the hotel were very welcoming, extra friendly and very polite with good manners. The Wi-Fi is very promising as I had to work from my laptop and the breakfast was very clean and healthy. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends in London and would again come back if I am in Nepal next time.

Good location in center of Thamel, Very polite and friendly staffs. They offered me room upgrade as i was the genius member of expedia, also they helped me with tour package in budget with their professional and experienced guide. Breakfast in Black Olives Cafe was very good and kept me going for the entire day. The rooms are quiet and very comfy beds. They also offered me airport drop facility at the exact time. Thank you Thamel Grand Hotel and all the team members in the management. Will return back again for sure.

An amazing experience with the hotel- First they came to receive me at the airport and waited for almost 2 hours since my flight got delayed. I was a bit nervous but to my surprise, they didn't mind waiting at all and were very welcoming.
After a long flight, I was really tired and the water in the shower was really warm and delivered good pressure. The room was really spacious, clean, and comfortable. And all the staffs were very helpful and friendly.
There was an attached restaurant to the hotel 'Black Olives Cafe' which served really good food and the breakfast was really top-notch. The hotel is in an ideal location close to Thamel's main hub yet it was so peaceful throughout the day and night. I enjoyed the stay and I'll be here again next time for sure.
I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Conveniently located towards the side of the bus park so easy to get there. Nice room, quieter as the hotel is set back a bit from the Thamel busy street. Very nice and helpful guy in reception.

Location was good and free breakfast was good. Didn't like the way the shower wet the entire bathroom floor. It needs a shower curtain. The free transfer from airport to hotel was good. They were waiting with a sign for hotel. Didn't like the lack of elevator. The transfer from hotel to airport was good for only 700 rupees.

Sandeep,the manager of the hotel was very friendly.staff was very friendly.they were giving two big free bottles of water free everyday.hotel manager sponsored live band of young Nepalese boys & girls during DiPÀWALI at hotel .they sang famous songs &dance in Nepalese costumes,it was very happy festival celebrating of DIPAwali.excellent stay of 13 days.i will go back again to THAMEL GRAND HOTEL.delicious food at Pearl restaurant in front of hotel.free breakfast,very reasonable rate of hotel.

Better deals elsewhere..

Got conned by Hotels.com as they said this was a \"secret deal\" but ended up paying double what my friends paid for a similar room in the same area with better services.. Also, paid more to get a \"mountain view \" (offered in the options) but the receptionist laughed and said that no rooms had any view on the mountains..

Great new hotel in Thamel

The Thamel Grand was perfectly located, good size room and bathroom allowed us to spread out, free wifi and excellent free breakfast at the Black Olive restaurant. The staff was friendly and made our stay comfortable. Great for shopping and enjoying a few days in Thamel at the end of a long journey.

I book 3 room in this hotel for March 2nd and it was fully paid myself but when I reach to hotel 11 pm in the night with my family but when I reach to hotel they told me they have only one room and we have to go to an other hotel . How this happen I pay for this hotel and they are asking to go other hotel and I don't know how is that hotel . When we go there is was not the same room . I don't know why they give me that hotel where they are not same service . The management not good

Poor service, freezing showers, and hidden fees

There is nothing grand about the Thamel Grand Hotel. I regrettably stayed here for 4 nights. There are many hidden fees and tricks. I ended up transferring to another hotel.

-Mostly cold showers - I showered 4 times and there was only lukewarm water once
-Heater - costs an extra 500 rupees per day
-Overcharging - there was no electricity for a whole day, but they still charged me 500 rupees for the heater even though I couldn't turn it on
-No breakfast buffet - If you call 1 egg and 2 pieces of bread a buffet. I ordered a tea and a coffee and they made me pay for one of the drinks. Definitely not a buffet
-Rude staff - The manager asked me to write a 5 star review for his hotel then he hovered over me uncomfortably making sure I was writing a review. Thankfully my guide showed up
-No cleaning service - I hung the clean my room sign on my room for 2 days. Nobody cleaned it. I had to call for toilet paper and used the same towel for 4 days
- Bad atmosphere - The lobby is like a boys club where the workers hang out and watch TV. Definitely not somewhere that you hang out

Best hotel for comfortable stay

i stayed at thamel grand hotel for a couple of night during our trekking trip to Nepal. It is a great value hotel in the heart of Thamel. Rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. Most impressive staff are here for any help. i recommend highly and hope to stay again

My stay in Nepal was phenomenal. My husband and I had a terrific time during our stay at Thamel Grand Hotel. The hotel is located in the city center making it very easy and convenient to travel within the city. The hotel staff are very polite and attentive. The rooms are spacious and clean with very good amenities. I am very impressed with the service and hospitality here. I would definitely recommend thamel grand hotel to anyone traveling to Kathmandu and looking for a great hotel.

Best hotel we could have in Thamel in cheap price. Quaint little hotel right in the heart of Thamel within walking distance to everything you need such as restaurant, shops, trekking, travel agency and many more. The hotel was located just far enough from the main drag to be situated in a quiet little spot. All of the staff was friendly and prompt to help any time and we met the owner who was very friendly and funny. The rooms were also perfect. A true Nepali experience with a large double shower bathroom. Wifi was supper fast and constable. Overall we enjoy our stay at Thamel grand hotel

I cannot ask more in terms of location of this nice little hotel. it's at the heart of Thamel, the tourist hub and very accessible to the historic places in Kathmandu. the staff are very helpful, right from the time I booked and i send emai for pick up service. they arranged for airport pick-up and also for the taxi to move me around sightseeing place, at a very reasonable rates. the rooms are tidy and charmin, wifi work well. also hotel and cold water run all the time. i enjoy my stay and i highly recommand this hotel for comfortable stay in cheap price

Your home away from home. Thamel Grand Hotel is a safe, new and beautiful hotel with nice rooms, great food in black olive restaurant, and very reasonable rates. It is located inside the thamel, but it is far enough away from those places' hustle and bustle to give you a very quiet and relaxing experience. Its kind and friendly owner and their very helpful staff are dedicated to making your stay a memorable one. Air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, TV, hot showers, great food, and nice people at a very good price. This is the place to stay. I highly recommend and I hope to stay again in my next trip to nepal

We were about to check out of the hotel when the earthquake happened. We fled the building and the man at the front desk during the big aftershock had the ordasity to ask if we had settled our bill! We didn't owe any money but he ran back inside mid tremor to look!!!

This is the only person in Nepal that I have found to be so thoughtless and rude. The hotel were not very helpful in general but the room was clean and comfortable.

Hard to Find!

Address is incomplete, taxi driver had difficulty finding hotel, and actually left me stranded, since he couldn't find it. Phone number listed is no help either as it is not their correct phone number. Taxi from airport was 700R.

The hotel has a master switch to control your air conditioning and cut mine off mid day while I was in my room. I don't appreciate that.

Also, it seems that OYO Hotel is just a big umbrella company, the actual name of the hotel is \"NatRaj Yes Please\"

Take the Blue Metro line to \"RK Ashram\" Station and use Exit #1, then after proceeding down the stairs, turn right down that road, then take the second (2nd) road on the right. Thamel Grand Hotel is the best!

My husband and I booked this hotel for 10 days so that we could have a home base. I believe we had the best room in the building (Room 304) which had a balcony and two large windows. The double bed was extremely comfortable, the room spacious with high ceilings. The staff friendly and willing to be of assistance whenever required.

Most importantly, this hotel is not to be confused with the Grand Hotel in Red Cross Sedak, Kathmandu!
