Our stay at Riad Cherrata was a Great experience. Location is very convenient, it’s very clean, amazing home made breakfast, all topped off by an incredible host, Valerie, who makes the stay very personal and special providing us with lots of information, a phone and arranged cars for us. We’d come back in a heartbeat! Thank you for everything!

Valerie is an exceptionally attentive hostess. Location is convenient and quiet. Room was large, attractive and very clean (though with no outside-facing window - the one negative). Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful, and they generously accommodated special diets. Highly recommend this riad.

This beautiful riad is in the Médina (old town), easy walking distance to a miriad of restaurants, markets, palaces, and other sights. It is a little sanctuary within the bustle and excitement of Marrakech, and even has a rooftop lounge to relax, sun oneself, and view the city from the rooftops.
Valerie, the host, went above and beyond – passing on so much local knowledge, and making sure we found our way around. We won’t hesitate to book at Riad Cherrata when we return to Marrakech.

My daughter and I stayed for 3 nights based a recommendation that it was good for female travellers and I could not agree more , we were excited but anxious as first timers to Marrakesh.
. Valerie could not have been more hospitable. From booking, she made contact and offered help. She spent some time on arrival really explaining to first time Marrakesh visitors top tips in sights, getting around, taking taxis, and even gave us a phone in case we needed her or a taxi and a very useful ‘magic map’. Lovely Sedia is an amazing cook, her welcome tea and sweets to her pancakes and homemade jams were all delicious. ‘ I feel like a princess’ said my daughter. So did I. A very special place and Valeries’ tips and map meant we had a hassle free and terrific stay in this intoxicating city. Would unreservedly recommend this beautiful tranquil Riad.

Wonderful stay, you won’t be disappointed

Valerie and her guest services team were amazing! They went above and beyond what would be expected. Valerie provided us with thorough information on getting around Marrakech in a way that optimized our safety and fun. The bed was very comfortable and the Riad itself a quiet haven for restoration. Our laundry was able to be done same day, which was also hugely helpful. Breakfast was abundant and yummy.

Very nice Riad situated in Medina with great staff

Excellent stay, the riad is very clean, comfortable and an excellent location to explore the medina. Valerie and the staff were very helpful and extremely knowledgable during my stay. They made me feel very at home and helped me with tour bookings, restaurant recommendations, airport pick ups etc. Moroccan style breakfast was also excellant. Could not recommend more highly. Friendly, welcoming, perfect for female travelers.

My friend Nicola and I (2 women) travelled to Marrakech for 4 days. This Riad was perfectly setup for our every need/worry. Valerie and her team were very welcoming and ensured our stay went as smoothly as possible. The taxi pick up/drop off was all organised and on arrival we were welcomed with tea and snacks as she talked through the local amenities and directions. We were given a mobile (with credit) during our stay with useful numbers and her personal number for emergencies and queries (which was very useful when organising tours).
The Riad/our room was beautiful and clean, with air-conditioning and useful things such as a safe, hairdryer, cotton buds etc.
Last but not least, the breakfast was amazing... Homemade yoghurt and jams, local pastries and bread, pancakes, fruit and tea.
I would definitely recommend this Riad and would without doubt stay here again if I go back :)

We continued traveling through Morocco and stayed at some 5 star hotels. Our stay at Riad Cherrata was truly one of our highlights! We would love to come back and stay again!

Amazing Riad

We really had an amazing stay at Riad Cherrata.

Service is ultra friendly and generous. Valerie the owner gave us a great briefing on visiting Marrakech and it really helped us make the best out of our 3 days there. Sydia (not sure about the spelling) makes you feel at home and cooks amazing breakfasts (the bests we had in all our Morocan riads)

Riad is very pretty, clean and comfortable. Terrace is cool with a great view on the city and Atlas mountains. Location is great, just a 5-10 minutes walking from central place and most sightings.

Only minor thing we didn't like much is the fact that the toilets are not separated from main room. There is a small wall hiding it, and I guess some people don't mind this at all, but we were not too comfortable with the bathroom configuration.

Other than this minor thing, we had an amazing stay and would definitely return.

Great Riad and exceptional service

Great Riad within easy walking distance to main attractions. Good early contact from Valerie and although she was away during our stay we were well looked after by Ann and Saadia. They couldn't do enough for us and made us feel so welcomed. Highly recommend and We hope to return soon but next time we might go later in the year as it gets very cold in the evenings/early mornings

Fabulous stay, beautiful riad, amazing staff

Loved this riad so much!

The room is smart, simple and comfy with nice toiletries and linen. The view from the terrace is across the whole of Marrakech, across to the Koutoubia Mosque and beyond to the Atlas mountains.
Breakfast is a fresh bread, fresh pancakes with home made jam, juice, tea and fruit. The lounge and breakfast area (inside at this time of year) is beautiful and comfy.

But best of all is the service. Firstly from Valerie, the owner, with her hand drawn magic map and lengthy introduction to Marrakech. She was on hand throughout my stay (6 nights) to give suggestions and tips to make the best of my stay. Secondly from Sadia (apologies if the spelling is wrong) who greeted me and made tea for me when I returned late at night after a busy day or an evening meal - I don't speak a lot of French but somehow we always managed to understand each other and she was always cheerful and happy to help. The whole team were friendly and I was greeted every day and made to feel extremely welcome. I would definitely return here.

The location can be a little tricky as it is in the medina which is a maze of streets. I wouldn't want to stay outside of the medina - this is the heart of Marrakech - but inevitably this means passing down streets which are small, quiet and occasionally a bit grubby. For me this is part of the experience but some travellers may not enjoy this. I should mention that I never felt threatened or unsafe. But it is not your sanitised European city!

very nice hotel in the old town of Marrakesh

The hotel is located very conveniently for those who would like to feel atmosphere of Medina (old town) of Marrakesh (situated at one of its narrow street). The staff (Valeria and the other ladies) were very friendly and helpful, introducing to us nature and the most interesting things of the city. Very remarkable thing were breakfasts, served individually and originated from Morocco's cuisine. I can really recommend the hotel, if you wish to experience real Marrakesh.

Lovely clean Riad

Riad is nice and central for visiting souks and Jemaa el Fnaa square. This was our first visit to Marrakech, the narrow street looked dirty and scary,so was glad to find the riad very clean and welcoming, there was no need to feel scared the people are friendly and children play out on the streets. The roof terrace was great with views to the snow topped Atlas Mountains and the roof tops of Jemaa el Fnaa square and beyond. Saadiya was on call 24/7 to open the door, make coffee, the beds and towels were changed daily, Isabella and Anne, who were friends of the owner came to welcome us and make sure every thing was ok, giving us tips about places to visit and how to travel around (as they both spoke English). French and Arabic are spoken and written on menus, English is not on menus. could not fault it. Hopefully will be back

Oasis in the middle of Medina

This riad is an oasis in the middle of the Medina. It is on a small, quiet street and there aren’t those motorcycle that whiz all over the place. The open courtyard and the small pool in the middle of the riad makes it feel refreshing. Thanks to the detailed directions and recommendations Valerie gave us we got to experience Medina’s restaurants and sights. Her magic map details the immediate area which includes Place Jamaa which has many nice restaurants. Our room was very well decorated and large enough for our family of four. Celia prepared us amazing breakfasts with omelets, home mode yogurt, pancakes, homemade jellies, fruits,….It was so much and delicious food that we always skipped lunch. Valerie was the orchestra conductor of our stay. She gave us very good recommendations and when we requested her help she booked restaurants, spas, taxis for us. She even helped with our laundries as we had been on the rod for a while. I should also mention the small pool in the courtyard. Initially I thought it was just a decoration piece. But we almost used every day after coming back exhausted from the medina. Some of us followed it up by a short late day sun bathing in the rooftop terrace.

Sanctuary within a very busy city\n

Absolutely loved our stay there, our hostess Valérie did whatever she could to make our visit to Marrakech as enjoyable as possible and nothing was ever too much trouble. She provided us with her own \"Magic Map\" on the first day, which made our first few days of navigating the medina much easier. We also got a phone with all the important numbers saved in it to use in case we get lost which was fantastic. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of home made delights, the room was cleaned every day and we even got a free upgrade to a bigger room because we stayed during the quiet season - not every hotel is as accommodating as Riad Cherrata. It was lovely being able to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and just relax on the roof terrace in the sun, and the lobby with the comfortable sofas and cushions and the pool had a very luxurious feel. We can't thank the ladies of Riad Cherrata enough and would definitely stay again!

I was alone in Marrakech and found a home:)

Awesome experience, Valerie handled everything for me! As requested I was greeted by a driver at the airport with a sign with my name( plane was an hour late). Driver took me to the old city and parked as close as possible and walked me to Riad safely, I would have been lost otherwise. Riad was beautiful and comfortable, great location....an oasis. Valerie explained all details to me and even gave me a local cell phone with her number to call if I was lost or needed help!! Who does that?? She also had a hand written map with all needed walking details. Amazing! Home made breakfast was elegant and delicious..I will go back ASAP. Thank you Valerie and staff!!

Simply Amazing!

We stayed at the Riad for 3 nights. Our reason for choosing a Riad was to add a cultural flavour to our stay and our reason for choosing Riad Cherrata was the excellent reviews and proximity to Jamaa el Fna.

I am probably going to repeat what everyone else has already said, but Valeria is simply delightful. I have never felt so welcomed and shown such warm hospitality in any hotel (and I have stayed at 100s!).

We arrived at the Riad at 10pm and Valeria had left us a welcome note, a map, mobile, and tons of useful leaflets in a basket. The maid took our luggage upstairs, poured us some mint tea, and served us lots of Morrocon treats. This left a good first impression.

Our room was as described and everything was clean.

Breakfast was ready for us at our requested time. There was a fresh loaf of bread, pancakes, pitta bread, chocolate bread, croissants, fresh orange juice, home made yoghurt, and choice of tea bags.

Throughout our stay, Valeria guided us, helped us plan our sightseeing, and was generally very friendly.

Amazing!

Don't stay anywhere else in Marrakesh....you have to stay at the Riad Cherrata!

Valerie & her staff made our stay so easy & couldn't do enough for us. Valaries 'magic map' got us around the area with ease & we even helped out another couple of tourists using it!

Breakfast is amazing & staying in the real Morocco in a Riad made our stay so enjoyable.....seriously you won't find better even if you paid double.

You are a 10-15 min walk away from the main square & the souks. The best Hammam massage is a 25 min walk & again Valarie will point you in the right direction. She will even ring the restaurants, the Hammam & the taxi firms, agree the prices & make the bookings for you :o)

Beautiful Riad in the heart of Marrakech.

The Riad is lovely and is about 10-15 minutes walk from the square. Supper service from Valerie, she organised our airport transfers, booked trips and made reservations for us. She really took care of us, advising us, giving maps and making restaurant recommendations. The Riad is also very safe. There are lots of great places to see in Marrakech but good to plan before going especially if you are going for a few days. I will definitely stay in Valerie's Riad when I visit Marrakech again. The mint tea and pancakes with honey are the best at the Riad.

Wonderful place to call home

Although I was only there for a few nights, Valerie and the ladies at Riad Cherratta were amazing hosts. Valerie gave a \"major map\" she made to get around the medina and it was amazing!!! So helpful and never got lost. All her dining and cafe recommendations were also excellent! She also provided a phone and her mobile number incase of anything... From the welcome tea and pastries to the homemade delicish breakfast it was such a treat! And a quite respite away from the crazy fun of Marrakech! Would highly recommend a stay here!!!

Peaceful Respite from the Busy Medina

The Riad was fantastic. My friends and I stayed in the Sabra room. The Riad was clean, well maintained, and incredibly peaceful. The sun decks on the roof were quite possibly my favorite part and had lovely views of the city, especially at sunset. Most importantly, however, Valerie and her staff were amazingly helpful! From meeting us, to providing tea and absolutely phenomenal breakfasts, to calling and arranging transports for us. I cannot say enough about how amazing they made our stay! I can honestly say I cannot wait to go back and visit Riad Cherrata again!

Wonderful Riad in a great location

Valerie and her team at Riad Cherrata are truly amazing. We were greeted with a traditional tea whilst Valerie helped us plan our trip. She went out of her way to help us throughout our stay. The Riad has a wonderful charm to it and is kept spotlessly clean. The breakfast was delicious and the roof terrace provided a nice spot to relax in. The Riad is located about 10 min walk to the main square and Valerie's 'magic maps' were invaluable. I thoroughly recommend the dinner she organised for us at a neighbouring Riad too.

We stayed here for three days as part of our honeymoon. It was a lovely traditional Riad with excellent facilities. The staff were amazing and very helpful. Haven of peace and tranquillity where the owner and her team can not do enough to make sure you have an enjoyable and unforgettable stay !! Breakfasts are wonderful, great start of the day before going to visit chaotic Marrakech ! We were recommended different restaurants for lunches and dinners. Were given a mobile phone in case we needed to get hold of a taxi or the owner herself. Can not recommend this Riad enough, there will be no need to look for a place to stay for our next trip to Marrakech.

Very charming 'baby riad' very close to the square

We had a lovely stay at Riad Cherrata - a responsibility shared by the lovely Riad accommodation (beautiful rooms and courtyard) as well as by the very charming and lovely guest lady Valérie and her wonderful team. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a little quiet and charming 'pied à tèrre' in the busy Marrakeshi medina! And best of all, it is just a few streets away from the (busy) square (although it feels like another continent when you enter the Riad)

Having read reviews on Riad Cherrata we can only agree with them after our recent stay there. Valerie and her ladies looked after us so well and with the hand drawn map and instructions we did not get lost in the medina! Very central location so walking about is so easy and interesting - lots of good places to eat recommended too. Breakfast is on a grand scale and all fresh and hand made. Highky recommended.

Fantastic Riad in the heart of the medina.

We booked a 5 day mini break at the Riad Cherrata to spend time together away from our usual busy lives and children. We had such a great time experiencing the cultural hub of Marrakech. Although the pace of life is fast in Marrakech the riad was a quiet retreat within the medina and was well located to experience all Marrakech has to offer. The team at the riad make sure every need is covered and it feels like a home from home. We had an amazing and relaxing time and would recommend the Riad. There were several personal details that were much appreciated - a local mobile phone to use to call Valerie (owner) or taxis. A comprehensive overview of what to see whilst there and the most amazing breakfasts we have ever experienced!! Every day Valerie would make sure she helped arrange any restaurants, transport or excursions that we wanted. Valerie has a great personal touch and I believe it sets this Riad appart from others because of the care she takes to make sure her guests have the best time possible.

Stunning small Riad, 10 mins walk from main square

Valerie welcomed us with tea and snacks, then gave us a lot of information on things to do in Marrakech. The Riad was stunning, so clean and new. There is only 4 rooms, and you are made to feel very special in staying there. The breakfast was superb, and the 2 ladies working there are very lovely.

Home from home in Marrakesh

Valerie takes every care of the guests in the Riad Cherrata giving hand drawn maps and personal guidance to help you make the best of your time in Marrakesh - even lending a local mobile phone to call taxis without incurring roaming charges.

The Riad itself is immaculate - decorated in Moroccan style but with a Parisian's understated taste. A cozy library with open fire is a nice place to sit if it rains. And the roof-top terrace with views from the Koutoubia to the snowy Atlas Mountains was inviting when the skies cleared.

I can't imagine a better place to stay in the Medina. Located within a 10 minute walk of the square or the old palaces but quiet enough to relax when you've had enough of the madness. The place is clean & bright with fresh flowers and candles to impress your better half, in fact there is defintely a feminine touch to the decor. The roof terrace is great to relax/take in the views/soak up the sun. The breakfast is delicious with homemade breads/pancakes/jams and yoghurt. I challenge anyone to eat everything that is given. If you book an evening meal (which you must do in advance) you won't be dissapointed. Probably the best aspect (especially for a Marrakech novice like myself) is the host, Valerie, who is a mine of useful information with hand drawn maps and directions, she is happy to arrange taxis and make restaurant reservations for you, in fact nothing seems to be too much trouble.

Like home away from home!

Staying at this Riad was wonderful. Valerie will help you organise all your sightseeing activities, taxis and days out. The Riad is immaculately clean and her staff are all very attentive and polite. It is a 10 minute walk into the centre square and all the restaurants. You can sightsee on foot if you are happy to do some walking, or taxis are easy to come buy, just make sure you agree a price before you get in. You should definately stay in this Riad, it is perfect for location, comfort and personal service. As everyone has mentioned, you will also eat very well as the breakfasts are huge and delicious (no need for lunch). Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We stayed at the Riad Cherrata for 4 nights and booked having read the reviews both on here and booking on Expedia. We did have 2-3 others that we considered but based on what other people had said, we went for it. We were not disappointed. We arranged the Taxi through the Riad which is highly recommended due taxi's at the airport maybe trying to rip you off; happened to the other couple who stayed with us. Once we got to the Riad it was a warmly welcome with tea and Moroccan sweets. Valérie (owner) sat us, and the other couple staying there, down to a comprehensive guide of what to do, where to go and what’s the best place to eat etc.

Valérie drew here famous map which was a lifesaver for us; it helped us so much to get around and get to places around the Riad. She also provided us with a phone which was a nice to have just in case! We stayed in the Sabra room (Junior Suite) which was a very good size on the first floor and ensuite shower. Great room with a lot of space; perfect for us as a couple. The room was very clean and tidy and you can tell it has been looked after. The Riad overall was immaculate and the terrace was a great feature with an amazing view!

Overall I would always recommend this Riad to anyone who wants a great experience of Marrakech due to its location etc. Valérie's advice is priceless and was certainly what helped the holiday experience! Thanks again for an amazing time and would say as a first visit Riad Cherrata would be ideal.

Lovely simple Riad with the best customer service

We had a lovely 3 night stay at Riad Cherrata. We have never experienced such nice and attentive customer service. Valerie who runs the Riad, drew us maps, booked us restaurants, gave us an orientation walk the first night and supplied us with a mobile phone. She also provided contacts and advice for onward tours, at no benefit to herself. Her team of local ladies make you tea and prepare a great breakfast too.
The riad itself is a small 4 bedroom Riad tucked away along one of the Medina's safe but humble streets. There are two nice sun terraces, and a very small pool downstairs. Its an ideal place for your first visit to Marrakech.

Lovely hotel, very close to main square. Valarie (owner) took the time to sit us down for 30 mins when we arrived to draw maps based on what we wanted to see and where we wanted to go, safety tips etc.

Friendly Riad in a great location

We stayed here for 5 nights for my boyfriends birthday and we both really enjoyed our stay. The owner Valerie gives you lots of useful advice when you arrive and a map which stopped us from getting lost! The Riad is very peaceful and is great to come back to after a long day in the busy souks. We wanted to see the Atlas mountains so Valerie arranged an excursian for us which was great value and the driver and the guide were both really knowlagable and friendly. Breakfast each morning was delicious - homemade yoghurt, pancakes, jams and tasty French pastries! We would definately recomend this Riad for it's location, the friendly staff and the comfy rooms.

Warm hospitality and great location

We loved our stay at Riad Cherrata! From the moment we arrived, Valerie was warm and welcoming. She not only helped us with dinner reservations and suggestions of things to see in Marrakesh, she even walked us to the restaurant our first night and helped arrange cabs for us. She was also great about accommodating my wheat allergy and the breakfasts were amazing! My boyfriend was in baked goods heaven with their brioche and croissants, pancakes and local breads. And the Riad is lovely, light and airy, decorated with sheaves of fresh roses and spotlessly clean. The location was also terrific. In the medina and easy walking distance to everything we wanted to see.

Great Riad in the heart of the Medina!

My wife and I stayed in Marrakech for a total of 4 nights, and couldn't have picked a better place than Riad Cherrata. The Riad is in the heart of the old city, and is in easy walking distance to Jemaa el-Fnaa, the souks, and all of the other main locations to see. Valérie was absolutely wonderful, and spent a great deal of time drawing custom maps, arranging for taxis and excursions for us, and made sure that we were comfortable and well taken care of. The breakfast prepared each morning was outstanding and perfect to start the day. Will definitely be staying here again!

Elegant riad in a central location

This is a very elegant, calm, carefully run riad, and just the sort of oasis you'd want after a day out in the hectic streets of Marrakesh. We were not the only guests to express a desire simply to stay inside and enjoy the riad rather than venturing out! The breakfast is a bountiful assortment of homemade breads, pastries, and jams, with excellent coffee and fresh-squeezed orange juice. The rooms are scrupulously clean, the bathrooms handsomely appointed. The whole place has the feel of a boutique hotel, but the warmth of a well-run home.

Fantastic, friendly, gorgeous place

We stayed for 5 days at Riad Cherrata and has a wonderful experience. Our hosts could not do more to help us feel at home, not just in the riad but also in the city itself. A Great Riad

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Marrakech and it was in no small part to Valerie and her team at Riad Cherrata. The small size (4 rooms) means you get a great personal service from a wonderful host and team, which you just cannot get in a large hotel. The Riad is right 'in the mix' of the old city and is only a 10 minute walk, down a busy, vibrant Marrakech street to the main square. The Riad is clean, comfortable, welcoming and quiet, which is nice after the hustle and bustle of the main squares and Souks. The breakfast provided is also a work of art.....breads, pancakes, french pastries, home made conserves, yoghurt and orange juice. Morrocon tea and treats on arrival was also a nice touch.

Valerie is the star of this Riad and helped us out with her hand drawn maps, supply of a local mobile, little box of leaflets, great recommendations of places to go/things to do, access to lots of guide books. If we had any questions she was always willing to help.

If you want an authentic Marrakech experience this is a geat base. Valerie and Riad Cherrata deserves all the praise of this review (and the many others), it is a great place to stay.

The riad cherrata was amazing, you think you are entering a random alley but when you go through the door you realise you are in a fantastic place. Valerie, the owner, and her 2 staff are brilliant and accommodate your every need. She even hand drew a map for us to find our way around. Location wise, it is about a 20 minute walk to Jemaa El Fna (the main square). The breakfast in the morning was all homemade with jams, croissants, bread and pancakes as well as freshly squeezed orange juice and yoghurt. I'd definitely recommend it to stay at.

The best riad ever

Words cannot describe how enjoyable our stay was with riad cherrata. The service was very personal. The staff were very friendly, very welcoming, very attentive to all our needs. Valerie who is the owner was fabulous. Her advice and planning of our visits to different sights was excellent. If I was to plan another trip I would not stay anywhere but here. Our flight was cancelled and we were put up in a five star hotel for 2 nights but the quality of service was 0 compared to the service we received at the riad. Riad cherrata for us felt like home away from home. Loved everything about it and are missing it already and planning another trip.

great choice small and quiet ,easy to navogate anywhere from this point . valerie was a most charming hostess and gave us a 1 hr tutorial on the city and environs. helped us with our retaurants, gave us a local cll phone , and could not hve been any nicer . breakfast consisted of home made yougurt , breads , croissants fresh OJ .. we enjoyed their hospitality. They made us feel like home. The only negative was that kids sem to come out and play in the streets at the weirdest oouurs 10 pm ask for a room in the back. other than that . i could find no faults with this Riad . wonderful ambience,

We were a bit worried on arrival and thought we might have gotten it wrong.... then the door opened.
Nothing was too much trouble for our charming hostess Valerie.
She provided us with a complimentary cell phone to use, hand-drawn maps. Made our meal reservation at a good restaurant. The interior of the Riad is beautiful, the breakfast every morning was good. The interior dip pool was a very welcome cooling device. Valerie even walked us to our taxi, which she had booked, to say goodbye as we left for the airport--we couldn't have asked for more. Brilliant place to stay in Marrakech

Wonderful riad - Quiet despite its central location, very comfortable, a lot of thought has gone into what's available there i.e. sunhats waiting on the terrace, given a local mobile phone on arrival in case of any problems.

Simply amazing breakfast of fresh homemade products which really set you up for a day's walking around the city, and simply lovely owner Valerie who even came to find me when I got terribly lost in the maze of the souks.

Highly recommended.

Old town Riad with amazing service

The thing that makes the Cherrata is the service. There are only four rooms and the owner, a French lady called Valerie, could not be more welcoming: it is like being a guest in her home. She goes to immense trouble to provide maps (some of them hand-drawn), numbers of reliable taxi drivers, a mobile phone on which to call them (!) and recommendations for restaurants. The breakfasts are amazing: every type of Moroccan bread and pancake you could think of, plus a \"French touch\", home made preserves (four types) and freshly squeezed orange juice and good coffee. The rooms are comfortable without being lavish - provided you don't mind not having a TV - and there is free WiFi. The location is superb too: inside the old Medina and only ten minutes' walk from the main square. Highly recommended.

All that's good in a B & B

For a first time visitor to Marrakech this is just about the perfect place to stay. Valerie is a wonderful hostess. She made us feel welcome. She told us where to go and what to do as well as gave us local phones to call her if there was an emergency.

The Riad is in a funny part of town at first I was regretting choosing it when I saw where it was, but once you go in the place is lovely.

Breakfast was nice but soon got a bit tired of croissants and bread, was yearning for eggs and sausages, But I suppose that is how there breakfast is.

Easy to get to the market from there once you know how.

Overall I really enjoyed my stay

Absolutely brilliant rooms and service and Valerie (the host) spent hours ensuring we would get the best from our time in Marrakech without trying to sell us anything.

She even issued us with a local phone so we could call her if needed.

Wonderful, warm and exceptionally clean.

Valerie and team were really fantastic. To the point that on leaving Valerie waved us off as we left in the taxi. Valerie provided us with maps, guides and even a mobile phone should we get lost. With the hand drawn map there was no worry here and never needed the phone. Excursions and taxis could be arranged at low prices. I had a cough while staying and a home made honey and lemon drink was brought to me at no extra cost. No request was rejected but dealt with immediately. The hotel was exceptionally clean, breakfast amazing and the small team of staff warm and friendly. I would recommend this hotel if you want personal, friendly, warm service and to feel like a friend rather than a paying guest. The rooms were within the style of the Media and a peaceful haven after a busy day out and about. Breakfast had many homemade touches and more than anyone could eat.

A beautiful spot in the Medina.

We had a fantastic time here. Located close to Jemaa El-Fna, and with the utmost help from Valarie, we found it so easy to get around and see all the sites. Amazing hotel

We have just returned and the hotel and staff were amazing. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the main square and souk and is far enough away for it to be very quiet at night. The staff were amazing, we were met by a waiting driver (which was all arranged by the hotel and is highly recommended). On our arrival Valerie gave us maps, a mobile phone and made us aware of all the essential information. We were also given tea and cakes. Our room was amazing ultra clean and the breakfast was brilliant all home made. I can't rate this hotel highly enough.

Quiet escape in the bustling medina of Marrakech

This was one of the best hotel experiences in my travels primarily because of our hostess, Valerie. She went beyond any of our expectations to provides us with the best possible experience in Marrakech, from supplying us with a local phone to giving us maps and relevant information for our exploration of the city. If you want a small, beautiful and restful place to stay in the Medina, this is the place! Plus the breakfast is fabulous, especially the pancakes dripping with honey and butter. Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish

This cosy little riad was fantastic! Right in the heart of the Medina you are close to all of the souks and terraced restaurants and most things are well within walking distance. Valerie, the riad (guest house) proprietor, is nothing short of fantastic! She made sure we had a map and a mobile phone and she also helped to organise all of our activities which included quad biking, a spa evening and a table at a plush restaurant. Breakfast was delicious, all homemade breads, yoghurts, pancakes and pastries. (You can expect to eat a lot of bread in Marrakech). This is definitely a place for couples - married couples especially, as most guest houses will not accommodate non-married couples sharing a room. The pictures and the reviews and speak for themselves and are all accurate. I will be recommending Riad Cherrata to all of my friends and family and of course to you guys too!

Amazing Hotel for ANYONE coming to Marrakech

Incredible experience at Riad Cherrata! Valerie is an incredible host!

Upon arrival she provided us with mint tea and pastries. She sat us down and explained to us many different things about Marrakech. We hand drew us a map to help us navigate the confusing Medina. She recommended many restaurants that were superb. She also provided us with a local, Moroccan phone in order to call her if we ever ran into trouble or to call a taxi driver from a list of excellent cab drivers that she provided for us. Breakfast was also amazing! All in all, I would recommend this hotel to ANYONE. Such an amazing and incredible experience at Riad Cherrata.

Safe Haven in Marrakech

Valerie, the owner of Riad Cherrata, was wonderful. She organized our entire trip, arranged for tours and got us the best taxi driver in Marrakech, Mohammed. Every morning we were greeted with a wonderful breakfast of breads, homemade jams, fruits and yogurts. This was a great asset to us since there was very little else that was edible in Morocco. Valerie even gave us a cell phone in case we got lost in the souks, and, of course, we did. She came to rescue us and walked us back to the riad. Would definitely recommend Riad Cherrata if you are traveling to Marrakech.
