Loved my stay, it was peaceful and super close to the beach. Felt safe to leave sliding glass door open to hear the ocean. Had games to borrow to play with my children, I just didn’t like how they wouldn’t allow children in the hot tub with me. I wanted to enjoy it but my 1 year old is a Velcro baby and would have liked to sit in and enjoy with her.

We had a wonderful stay at Rockaway Beach Resort! The location is perfect — just steps from the beach with beautiful ocean views and a peaceful atmosphere. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious for our family. We especially loved being able to walk to the beach anytime and enjoy the gorgeous Oregon coast sunsets.
The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the overall experience felt relaxing and cozy. It’s a great place for a family getaway or a quiet beach retreat. We would definitely stay here again!

Amaaaaazing view, right on the beach. Love having the sound of the surf in the room. Stayed in a one bedroom condo . Starting to show its age. All metal surfaces are rusty wallpaper edges peeling etc. Lock on the sliding door is just a bar, no actual locking mechanism. Window too dirty to see well with the door closed

Great view from unit, right in front of you is the beach and ocean. Do have to walk a very short way to access the stairs to beach, but that was only because my unit was on the far side of building. Enjoyed having gas fire place in unit as it was a little chilly outside.

We had multiple units 3 toddlers, 3 teens and 4 adults. Was very nice & relaxing and comfortable. The view was amazing especially the sunsets. Staff were friendly and very helpful. They had games and movies you could borrow. And the yummest cinnamon tea! We ordered some for us as soon as we got back home! Will definitely be coming back!

We loved being right on the beach. We are from Oregon and have visited the Oregon coastline a number of times. Since we moved to Ohio, we have missed the beach. It's always nice to be able to be right on the beach and see it out the back door whenever you want.

The only complaint was the bed. The Murphy bed (where we wanted to sleep) was very hard. The main bed (Queen size) was not what we were expecting. It was more comfortable, but we would rather have slept in the Murphy bed with that comfort. The couch was a hide-a-bed and was not very comfortable to sit on for longer periods of time (you know, to dodge the occasional rain squalls).

Overall, we would stay here again.

The beach view is beautiful. It was right there and everything was very close. We went during off season and there were maybe 6 other guests staying at the whole property and it had creepy vibes. It was very empty. At check in the staff were odd and one hurried to “clean the room and check for surprises” which is not reassuring. We got the key, went up and the woman was cleaning and basically shut the door on us when we walked in and told us to wait. She came out flustered and told us she’s found a few surprises. It was weird. The place was clean but worn, definitely 30 years old design and rug had stains. The weird part was every night at 1:20/2 am there was the sound of a kid running over us…we were on the top floor, there weren’t other guests around us, no idea where the sound of kid footsteps running came from but you could only hear it in our bedroom not the other space…felt creepy…. The pool was small but they had toys and floaties for our little kids. They dumped an insane amount of pool chemicals in as we were using the pool and hot tub, we got out at that point. Staff seemed annoyed we were there overall, won’t stay here again but maybe they are better in season. Location and beach were incredible just the other things…

The hotel is outdated but not horrible. The main issue was the pool. When we take our family on vacation our kids favorite part is the pool. However, the pool experience here with children is HORRIBLE!!! They have NO seating around the pool and don’t allow chairs to be brought inside. No kids under 14 are allowed in the hot tub even if there isn’t a single other person in the pool area and they spy on you and come and tell you to get your kids out of the hot tub. It was March when we went and it was cold outside. When the kids got done swimming they were cold and asked if they could warm up in the hot tub before going outside and getting colder. I told them to just sit calmly for a few minutes in the hot tub. Within 30 seconds the front desk person came in and told me to get my kids out of the hot tub. There wasn’t a single other person there and they were just sitting there calmly. To top it off they won’t allow you to take the pool towels back to your room. So, you’re cold and have no towel on the way back to your room. I would NEVER stay here again! It is not family friendly.

Excellent view of the ocean. The room was spacious. The Murphy bed near the patio was nice, which made it easier to see the ocean. Bathroom could have used a little more cleaning. The room didn't have charging ports for electronics. Was noisy at times as we could hear the guests above us. The hotel had its own beach access, which we liked. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The property we stayed at is close to the ocean with a great view and fairly easy access to the beach. The house had comfortable furnishings and nice beds. We particular appreciated the comforters, quilts, and throws. There is a great stock of games and a good collection of books and travel guides. The house was very clean. We had a great time.

Beach View was great, host was great. The bathrooms were clean. Windows and stove top were not clean and items left behind from previous guests in the the room. It's definitely an older building, the floors dipped and you can definitely hear the guests above you. Our stay was not bad but wish our room had been a bit cleaner and the pool closing seems a bit early at 8 pm.

The room was terrible. All furniture was gross, dirty, carpet looked gross and super old. There was a bug in the carpet. Kitchenette was dirty. So were the bathrooms. Place did not look safe.no balcony in room, it had windows facing the ocean but they were foggy from the middle double window,so view was not good. We left same night, it was to gross and did not feel safe being there with kids. Checked out the next morning and returned keys. Very disappointed in this place. Never going back or recommending it.

The hot tub was great too. The only negative issue was the the hot tub was closed for maintenance in the early evening on the 2nd day we were there so we were unable to use it. I suggested to them that they clean it during the day while most people were out.

We absolutely love Rockaway Beach Resort, this is our 2nd time staying there. We love that it is right on the beach and it has a pool and jacuzzi. The office has movies, games and hot chocolate. 1/2 of the resort has been upgraded and has patios and the other 1/2 is old & needs upgrading. I’ve stayed in both and the stay was awesome each time.

It's not a fancy \"resort\" as the name suggests, but it is just what you need at the beach. The room was clean and spacious. We had a pet-friendly room, and there were lots of \"extras\" for our dog---stainless steel food and water bowls, two towels for after-beach walks, treats, a blanket, and the couch was covered in a soft, washable cover so we felt good about letting our dog curl up beside us. The staff were friendly. The hot tub was not too hot and placed right at a window overlooking the ocean. The mattress on the bed was very comfortable.

Staff was great. Very personable and friendly. They were very accommodating about changing our room from first floor to second floor, where the ocean view was better. We also preferred having carpet on the floor.

The apartment was large, with a separate bedroom, and two bathrooms, which worked out well.

When we inquired about getting windex to wash our deck door window, a young man in the office just volunteered to come do it for us.

We would definitely stay there again. It's not posh, but comfortable.

The room was completely run down. There were holes in the carpet, there was mold in the wall paper, the sliding door to the balcony wouldn’t slide unless I pushed all my body weight into it, I booked a queen size bed and that was NOT what I got. They supplied dishes and utensils for us to use, which is awesome, but clearly nobody checked before renting us the room cause a lot of the dishes in the cupboard were dirty so we had to wash them before using. We did not have a good experience here.

Super quiet (I didn't hear the ocean, which I was happy about), but just steps from the water!! In the low season, i.e., now, cost is unbelievably affordable. Hundreds of DVDs and jigsaw puzzles available in the lobby. Wish I could have stayed longer~ HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MOTEL!

This review is based off the rates they offer right now, which are very reasonable. The place is dated & and is currently going through renovation, so know this going in.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They really care about animals by leaving them sweet treats, too. Our room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and we had a place to cook & enjoy meals. The teens enjoyed the Murphy bed and the cute fireplace ambience.

The views were spectacular with easy access to the beach. The pool, hot tub, and sauna were a nice bonus, with windows looking out to the ocean. Great views as well. We loved everything about our stay here and look forward to coming back.

Last-minute stay at Rockaway, and this property came up. Booked it only for a night, but from check-in to check-out, it was a great stay. 3rd floor with a beautiful ocean-view room. Love the old-school physical room key, full kitchen with dishes and cups. The only little quirk was that the back half of the room was dark, almost like they forgot to replace a floor lamp in the corner. No worries for us, though. Definitely staying here again next time Rockaway comes up!

We had a good time and our room was clean. Staff was very friendly. Just wish they would have let us known that the hot tub would be down for more than a day. That was one reason why we booked this resort, and then we couldn't use it. Bummer!
