Mixed experience overall. The front desk staff was excellent—friendly, welcoming, and even allowed us to check in early, which was appreciated. Breakfast was also better than expected with waffles, fruit, yogurt, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, egg cups, coffee, and juice.

The property itself does not quite match the photos online. The lobby is nicer than the rest of the hotel, but much of the building shows significant age and wear. Floors are stained, several fixtures appear broken, and the overall condition feels more dated than advertised.

Our room was clean enough but had a noticeable pet/aged odor upon arrival. The bed was reasonably comfortable, though the pillows were very thin. We also discovered our door handle was broken and had to be lifted up to open the room.

Be aware that this hotel sits directly on Highway 101. Traffic and construction noise were very noticeable early in the morning due to thin windows. The hot tub was also out of service during our stay, something that appears in other reviews as well but is not disclosed on the Expedia listing. The indoor pool was too cold for us to enjoy.

One thing worth noting: while the hotel is near the bay, convenient beach access is not right outside the property. We found the closest easy beach access about 10 minutes north in Rockaway Beach.

Not a terrible stay, and there were definitely positives, but it did not fully match the expectations set by the listing photos and amenities.

We had a lovely stay here, staff was very kind and helpful and responsive. The room was lovely and we were in a corner room so it was very quiet for us. Only complaint is that the pool and hot tub were out of order and that was part of the appeal, so we would have appreciated a heads up.
Otherwise a great place for the value and proximity to everything.

It’s the nicest place to stay but it’s showing signs of wear & could use some care, upkeep & updating. The rooms smell of age & animals. There should be exclusive pet rooms only due to allergies, etc. Our staff member upon check in was wonderful & took care of us in moving us to a better smelling room.

Pleasant room. Though I wish I wasn’t in the back right next to the back stairwell.
WiFi is very decent-consider having security code in place.
There was a gap in the wooden blinds and unable to fully bring it down. Please fix or consider curtains for total blackout.
Staff were very nice and friendly. Breakfast was decent however coffee maker broke ??
Will consider staying there again.

The property is very “tired”…worn furniture and carpets. When we tried to turn on the tv, it didn’t work, when we tried to call the front desk, the phone was dead. When tracked down, the maintenance man was able to get them working. No blackout shades to keep the bright lights out of room. Breakfast was marginal.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I'm afraid I didn't get the name of the gentleman we talked to most - he was from Scotland. When our room key didn't work the 2nd day, he came up with us to check, and took them both to recharge them.
We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel - I poked my head in one of the mornings we were there and they did have a nice spread including a couple of waffle irons. We decided to try the 2 lovely places walking distance from the hotel. The first night we went out for dinner and brought leftovers back to our room. I was able to get utensils and plates at the breakfast area so we could have the leftovers in our room. The rooms have microwaves, but I believe the kitchen did also.
Location of the Hotel Garibaldi was very easy to get to also, and convenient for our plans to visit several beaches up and down that area of coast.

Many of the jets didnt work in the hot tub. The switch to one of the lights was broken so the light couldn't be turned on. There was only one person working, so he was doing his best to stock towels for the pool, check people in, and make sure other needs were taken care of and he did it all with a smile.

The exterior is not much, but the interior/lobby area is much better. Rooms are small, but for one night was fine for my husband and I. Not a lot of room in the bathroom especially since the door did not open all the way. A renovation error made the sink too wide and blocked the door. The room was clean and we appreciated the Starbucks coffee in the morning. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. For the price, a worthwhile stay.

Breakfast mostly inedible. Skip it and go across the street. This place tries, but doesn't quite make it. Room door handle only worked if you lift up, not push down. Window shade lacked the cord for retracting it and the window sill was stained. A little more effort and the place would have been good.

Hot tub only worked two of the five nights, was told by staff the owners were made aware the pump was going out over a month ago and choose not to fix it. Then it went out while we were there. They decided the close the pool “for maintenance” as well.
We had something spill on our sheets and requested the room be clean, the first day we requested a clean nothing was done to the room, second day we got clean towels and the wet towels wet put onto our bed. Third request was ignored as well. This was reported to the owner whose only response was the pump was like a natural disaster they they had no control over and if we wanted things cleaned we have to put the sign on the door and speak to house keeping directly. The only solution she offered was we could leave and find a different hotel but we would not get a refund as it was reserved through a third party source. We won’t stay here again

We had a comfortable stay. Beds were good, room was clean. Breakfast was decent(cold/hot cereals, yogurt, bagels&cream cheese, english muffins. Eggs, biscuits&gravy, waffles) and coffee/cocoa available throughout day.

Unfortunately, the jacuzzi was broken/closed and pool was cold which was a main reason we booked here. Staff did apologize for the pool issues and were pleasant.
Area seemed safe and close to shopping/dining and train station.

This place was a complete flop. The free daily managers reception that's advertised doesn't exist. Allan at the front desk who says he's worked there 2 years says he's never seen it. Ice machine is on the fritz. Our room smelled like a cross between a wet dog & a stale ashtray. The hot tub is built for 2 \"friendly\" people and we never got our turn in there since we didn't want to sit on anybody else's lap. The TV speaker must have been broke cause we had 2 small computer type speakers to try and hear the TV from. The bed was awfully uncomfortable & springy. We were looking forward to morning coffee but it was nasty and the breakfast was lackluster. We dumped it out and went somewhere else. We won't be back and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Allan was cool though.

There was only one 1970,s chair in the room that was beyond uncomfortable. Room stunk, Water closet valve was messed up and kept coming on and off. Shower head was so low that you could not even get underneath it for a decent shower. Pillows for the bed were super flat and did not feel right. The ad for the room was for a senior room. Which was ADA...The check in clerk could not switch rooms as it was booked thru Expedia. Super not comfy room. I would not recomend ever staying there again in the future. It wasnt even worth 25.00 a night and thats a stretch.

Overall, our stay was okay, but there were a few areas that could be improved. The door leading outside made a very loud noise when closing, which was easily heard and a bit disruptive. The pool experience was also not ideal—there was a group of kids with adults who were splashing and diving, and it would’ve helped to have more staff surveillance to maintain a calmer environment. When we went to the hot tub, we noticed a bandaid near it, which was disappointing.

Breakfast was decent overall, but I was looking forward to it more. Seeing the “breakfast in a cup” option (microwaved eggs and cheese) was a bit of a letdown, though the rest of the food was good. Lastly, it would’ve been nice to have USB charging ports in the room for electronics. With a few improvements, this place could be much better.

Booked and pre paid with Expedia. Front seat tells me the have no way of getting payment from Expdia. He said he would have to charge me for my stay and I could ask Expedia for a refund. Showed him my online receipt, called bank to verify transaction. He then said I could cancel my reservation and stay somewhere else. Or he could call Expedia but it may take hours. He finally checked me in after almost an hour of arguing. I’ve never experienced a more unprofessional check in anywhere

Unfortunately, the elevator was out of order so it was a schlep to our 2nd floor room, and the breakfast was underwhelming. Still, a solid choice for a stay in the Tillamook area and close to the Portside Bistro, where we had a very nice dinner.

The front desk guy told my kids to play quieter when they were swimming in the pool, never have I ever had anyone tell my kids to be quiet when they were PLAYING at a hotel pool.
