Lack of the communication was the thing that didn't go well.
It is important to note that I didn't get the chance to stay in the hotel because of my flight being cancelled. I was aware of that more that 2 months before my stay, and tried to communicate with the hotel to cancel my reservation-yet, the hotel completely ignored my try to return the reservation (and them to free my payment). I believe that this was more then enough time to allow my request, yet they never responded to me, despite several messages being sent through the app. Very disappointing.

While the room in bed were fine and the staff at the check-in was great. Check in took a very long time due to the amount of people waiting in line. The hostel was clean however, the restaurant and main room on the second floor had old and stained furniture. The toilets were clean, but the showers were very dirty And not large enough to shower and change in. This is not as clean as the safe stay in Madrid. This one was disappointing however, the location is top-notch. It is in the heart of everything and that was the plus.

We would never stay here again. The room was perfectly clean, some of the staff were pleasant and helpful, but not all. The worst was the noise sounding like furniture being dragged across the floor of the terrace on the roof just above our room. It continued until midnight.

The room didn’t have air conditioning and the bathrooms were very dirty. The guy at reception, Latin (Mexican or Argentine), was very inflexible and disrespectful with us. He refused to put us in contact with the manager to resolve an issue with the reservation. It was a disaster, and people like that should not be working with the public.

I really liked the hostel in general.Staff is very kind and helpful and hostel is very well organized.Location is awesome.room was also nice but one thing to highlight,upper bunk beds don't have any barrier to protect a person from falling.So if you are not a calm sleeper,upper bunk bed could be dangerous,request a lower bed in advance.

The location and the price of this hostel is amazing. You are really close to public transport and some of the greatests sites in Barcelona. You can also see that there is a lot of maintenance going on at the hostel.

Location is super convenient, close to everything. Room and bathroom are cleaner than expected. Elevator works but is quite slow. You better off taking the stairs. Common area and kitchen close at 11:30 PM. Staff are all very nice and friendly, but there's one person who stood out to me and that is Alejandro. He works the night shifts and is beyond polite and respectful. He went beyond his duties to help me out in many scenarios and I really appreciate that.

One of the room mates had a friend staying in my bed when I got there one night, I asked for new bedsheet, not possible, there was no towels for rent, the locker in the room was not useable, I informed about this and both of the time I got told that \"It is or use another one\" Well very impossible when the other three was occupied. The check-out was one of the worst ever experienced. The guy in the reception was so rude and very obvious still either intoxicated or luck of sleep. I was declined to leave my bag in the locker-room until later this day, his collogues was as surprised for this arrogant, unfriendly, unprofessional behavior as I was.

The roof terrace was absolutely beautiful, shame there wasnt an easier access bar from the terrace when we were there. The tiny window in our room could have been improved but i guess thats to be expected

Totally recommending

The location is very close to everywhere. You can come with only a train directly from airport. There is a kitcen, laundry service, public area and also a bar which has affordable prices. Employees were kind.

The location is absolutely perfect, right in the city centre and the hostel is right next to metro and train stations and all the restaurants/shops you need are close by and most of the tourism attractions are in a walking distances.
The only thing bad was the shower, it was too small but that's wasn't a big issue considering the atmosphere of the hostel. I'll definitely stay again and would highly recommended.

Only thing good is the location. Toilet door lock didn't work. Informed the staff but no action taken. They didn't give me the blanket for 3 nights and it was really cold. They only gave me a sheet of cloth. I checked with the staff if this is the blanket they given and he said yes. Only when I extended my stay for another day, then a blanket was given. I didn't extend my stay because I liked the place. I extended to catch a day tour.

When i arrived they started changing shifts so i had to wait 20+ mins until i could check in. The staff were rude about it and could careless. The key also stops working sometimes and had to go down to reception to receive a new one. This happens often to most guests. The bathroom was spacious which was great, however the shower itself was tiny and ended up using the showers down the hall as they were much more spacious and could move freely.

My first time staying in a hostel. It wasn’t bad. This facility was nice, it felt safe, and it was clean overall. The rooms were big but the beds were a little noisy. The staff when I checked in wasn’t friendly at all. The staff changed when I went back to lobby and they were very friendly. Overall a good experience. I don’t know if I’ll stay in a hostel again but if I did, this place was decent

Absolutely excellent! I was sceptical at first with it being a hostel as it was my first time being in one but the staff were lovely and friendly, the rooms were clean and the bathrooms were quite clean too. The roof top terrace has excellent views and is cheap and good music to relax. Would definitely stay here again

Nice stay in Barcelona

Had a nice stay with Safetystay for 3 days. Hostel is located very close to 'Case Batllo' and also to the main Mero station 'Passeig de Gracia'. It was a good value for money, and the breakfast (normal diet of bread, juice, fruits and coffee) was really helpful to start the day without any search of restautants in the morning. People in the reception were helpful and provided additional information required. Had a bit of problem with the wifi in the room but this was ok in the dining area.

The location couldn’t have been better - so central and convenient. The hostel itself was very nice, I loved the terrace! Overall the cleanliness was good and staff were quite nice. Showers were a bit annoying as they took quite a while to warm up. Loved staying here and would highly recommend!

The customer service that I received from both Cowi + Gabriela was 1st class. My phone with my credit cards was stolen, and I didn't have my train and flight boarding passes. (which were on my phone apps) But the 2 girls on reception were amazing, and managed to print off my boarding passes. They also let me use their personal mobile phone, for making a call back to the UK. Thank you very much girls, you are true assets to your management team. I would highly recommend \"Safestay rooms\" to everyone, and I am already looking forward to my next Barcelona trip.

Location was excellent - less than 1 block from Casa Batlló and metro. The view from my room on the 5th floor was excellent. I had a shared room and the price was excellent. Breakfast was supposed to start at 8am and cost 3.5 euro, but it wasn't open at 8:10am yet. So I crossed the street and ate at McDonalds. My top-bunk bed had a power outlet to charge my phone. The individual light didn't work. Overall, my experience was fine. I will stay at this hostel again.

Ciao, con 2 amiche sono stata un paio di giorni a Barcellona e abbiamo pernottato qui. Al check-in i ragazzi ci hanno spiegato tutto ciò che serviva pur parlando un'altra lingua. La camera era pulita e dotata di biancheria da letto e un salviettone per la doccia. Ci siamo tovate con il bagno in comune con dei ragazzi più giovani, ma non abbiamo avuto problemi. La cosa che ha dato un po' fastidio durante la notte sono le porte, che x essere chiuse vanno sbattute. Ogni volta che qualcuno si é alzato x andare in bagno doveva sbattere la porta di camera e bagno...magari si potrebbe valutare qualcosa per questa situazione. Al mattino con una cifra onesta si può fare colazione a buffet al bar dell'ostello. Fanno anche una sangria niente male...La posizione é fantastica...davvero in centro e si può a piedi raggiungere diverse cose. È situato vicino alla metropolitana e alla fermata del bus. In pochi minuti a piedi si va alla Rambla , nelle vie vicine si può trovare ogni genere di negozio. Spero di riuscire a tornare presto.

Rented this because it said it had air conditioning.
Looked at more reviews online that had big warning messages.
Tried to call business to check if the Air Con was working.
Their phone was off line. No one to help us.
Sent an email asking if the aircon was working.
They replied with - “no, it’s not working but the windows are open.”

Asked for a refund. No reply.

It is ridiculous that a business can rob you like this. I signed a contract with a business to provide me a service. They could not provide that service. So I deserve a refund.

Imagine going to a restaurant and ordering an ice cold lemonade. They charge you more because it will be cold and refreshing and delicious. Then the waiter brings you a glass of hot water and pours it down your shirt. They don’t answer any questions, just bring you the bill for the ice cold lemonade and expect you to pay.

Again. This is a very predatory business with almost no customer service at all. 0/10

Los baños no están muy limpios, la coladera de la ducha estaba tapada. El personal en lo personal me trató con respeto pero me tocó en dos ocasiones ver mal trato ha otros huéspedes al punto que casi un huésped intentó golpear a un trabajador de la recepción. Tienen que llevar su candado 😉

Esta muy cerca de plaza Catalunya, el hotel se encuentra en e corazón de Barcelona. La recepción es amable. Solo que la habitación privada estaba a lado de las habitaciones en la que comparten entre más gente, lo que hacía que escuchara mucho ruido incluso a altas horas de la noche.

Localização perfeita, quarto pequeno e chuveiro fica desligando, pois a torneira é tipo de pia que empurra e sai somente a quantidade da pressão, para banho é incômodo pq tem q ficar empurrando toda hora. Mas pela localização e custo benefício vale a pena
