Pros: Location, Friendly Staff
Cons: Paper thin walls. Heard every word and sound from hallways and neighboring rooms, enough to wake us and keep us up at night.
Beds are very hard. After third night, my back hurt and I do not have back issues. Housekeeping added a duvet cover under the sheets which helped minimally.
Rooftop bar was closed throughout my five day stay due to cold weather. It may be closed all winter but not sure. Very disappointing.

Lovely hotel lovely staff and service.
But very very noisy house keeping and didnt clean under beds. The hotel noise was so loud with doors slamming constantly and house keeping banging and making alot of noise.

Very nice property in an excellent location on La Rambla. The room is spacious, staff are helpful and the roof terrace with pool are superb. Only downside is we received a room that had a window that faced a wall (no real natural light) and the hotel at times was very noisy (ie thin walls), which was disruptive

This hotel could be so much better if they had more staff. It is clean and comfortable and in a relatively nice area. The only bar which had staff tending to customers was the roof bar. The bar in the lobby was open but there was no staff to serve us. They had to get our order from the roof top bar. The roof top bar was often running out of supplies to make drinks or to serve a salad, which was disappointing.

Too expensive for what you get.

First off, this is not a 4 star hotel which we saw somewhere posted online . If you want to compare it to a hotel in the U.S. it's not even comparable to a Comfort Inn, which is a 2-3 star hotel, which has nice updated rooms and a budget hotel. We had room 405 and carpet is old, stained, and thin. The furniture outdated, the shower doesn't even have a full glass door which means TONS of water escaping and pooling. Pretty dangerous especially if you are disabled or elderly. They DID let us check in twenty minutes early and \"upgraded\" us to a \"superior\" work LOL. I cannot imagine what our original room would have been but this room was not good. Our bed was two twin beds pushed together. It was so uncomfortable to share with my husband and we didn't make a big deal about it, but it was our honeymoon trip. They don't even have USB outlets, which is pretty standard for now a days. I could probably find more wrong with at least this specific room. No soap, just shampoo. Only ONE trash can, none in the bathroom. No coffee maker which is typical of Europe but also, no free coffee?
All of the desk people were SO nice, especially the women. The breakfast buffet lady seems to have a hard time with her tone speaking English and comes off as really rude, we even saw her pick up someone's plate off a tray and demand to know if they paid LOL. She refused to let my husband sit down after he's gotten his plate before interrogating him.
Oh and the hotel is SO HOT!!

The good and the bad

It was an OK stay. Starting with a few positives: the staff were incredibly lovely and approachable. The atmosphere of hotel was nice as well as the location. It is very central, and, close to the station that takes you to the airport.

However, very VERY noisy - I think some kind of drain pipes went through our rooms and we could hear every flush of toilet and residents showering. We could hear the movement of water travelling through the pipes, quite unpleasant, especially when you are trying to sleep. Also, if you’re vegan/veggie/halal the breakfast buffet is extremely limiting in terms of hot food. There’s nothing - we only eat scrambled eggs, the (powdery) tortilla sometimes, rest was fruit, which was good. Too early to eat too many sweet pastries too. Lastly, air con is weak.

No internet for MacBook Pro

Check in took longer than needed. Very small elevator. No internet in room for our MacBook Pro, because a two-key security login was needed that just did not work on our laptop (but it did work on our smartphones).
Hotel staff could not help (and said they had never experienced this before). Well, neither did we, and we have 8+ overnight stays worldwide in hotels, per year, and at literally every other hotel, internet connection for the MacBook Pro worked....

Otherwise, of course the location is great, Barcelona is fantastic! But don't listen to everyone, Valencia is even better, we think....

HCC Regente visit:- 01.10.19 to 03.10.19

As detailed in my summary, this was a very enjoyable visit (Tuesday, 2nd Oct to Thursday 4th Oct). The service at Reception was generally excellent and delivered with the utmost courtesy, although for whatever reason, our check-in was rather slow, maybe a computer 'glitch'. After check-out, we were also allowed to use the terrace bar facility, and to store our bags in the hotel pending departure for the airport - this was most appreciated. This may just be a personal opinion, but I did find the amount and content of the heavy jazz music played over the hotel sound system a little irritating and not conducive to relaxation whilst using the terrace bar. Otherwise, everything was fine, and I do expect to use the hotel again.

My experience was positive except for the room. The location is excellent, breakfast buffet excellent, very gracious and helpful staff, attractive public rooms and rooftop. I would stay again if I had a better room. The room was comfortable enough and had a large bathroom with large tub, which I like, but the window was not visible from the bed. The window, next to the bathroom, had a view only of a concrete wall a few feet away so the room felt closet-like and gloomy. There was also a step leading to the bathroom which could easily be missed.

Although during night time you can hear some people clubbing on the street, the room is clean, tidy, and big. The location is really good, especially it really close to Casa Batllo and much other sightseeing location.

The first room we were offered was small and with a view of air conditioning unit covered walls - thankfully we were upgraded for free and the next room had a lovely balcony with great views over the city. The decor is a little dated but the roof terrace is great albeit with a tiny pool.

We like the location but the condition of the property is very disappointing. The category is like a motel but daily rate is pricey. The shower has no door so the bathroom gets wet each time you shower. The furnitures and bed are old. They did not even provide complimentary water! I don't recommend this hotel. There are a lot of better options!

Amazing 4 nights

Amazing hotel, convenient location and lovely staff. Me and my boyfriend stayed here for four nights and enjoyed it throughly, the rooftop terrace and pool was a winning factor of this hotel enabling us to relax after a long day sight seeing. The man who worked on the roof top bar was lovely and welcoming, sorry I didn’t get his name. We stayed in a room facing the hotel interior which made the room dark but we were hardly in the room so not really a problem. The rooms were spacious and bed comfortable. Good location for everything, La Rambla only a 15 minute walk away and the nearest metro station a 5 minute walk which is quick and convenient to use and we regularly used it to access sightseeing spots. Overall a very pleasant stay

In all aspects other than the 'comfort' category, (see above), the hotel was excellent, but unfortunately, my room, (number 201), was too hot throughout my visit, even with the air conditioning on full power. Furthermore, it was rendered somewhat claustrophobic due to the absence of a window linking it to the outside world, and so no improvement to the air quality could be achieved by opening of the only window incorporated, which afforded a view of the inside of the hotel walls only. To be fair, I was offered another room following the first evening, but declined due to the inherent inconvenience of having to pack and unpack again. As I said, everything else was first-class, although I think the hotel would benefit further from the provision of tea and coffee making facilities.

The front desk was very helpful. We got in early and they were able to accommodate us. The room was modern, clean, and spacious. However, it was so warm inside so we had to keep the windows open. We were only there overnight, but if I return to Barcelona, I would definitely use again.

We were very comfortable in this hotel. The room was a good size for two people, bathroom was big, plenty of hot water, very clean and good ac. It’s not on the busy Ramblas but close enough to walk there. Plenty of outdoor places for tapas or other meals. Nearby are good coffee shops and plenty of retail opportunities. There is a large breakfast room, rooftop bar and we received a free cava drink offer when we checked into the hotel. Location is good for walking to Gaudi sites including the Sagrada Familia. We use public transportation and we were able to walk a few short blocks to the airporter buses. The desk staff were friendly offered help before we even asked and always greeted the hotel guests. This is an excellent hotel for a stay in Barcelona. I have included photos of our room, the rooftop bar and the view from our room. Forgot to mention there is a pool on the roof.

The hotel is located on one of the best streets of Barcelona, lots of shopping and eating around. The room space was good for single stay, the bathroom and shower was clean and spacious enough. My room was awful with a window in front of a wall and LEDs instead of daylight, could be the same without a window. Other hotels mention in their listings, if the room is inside or not. In brief, unfortunately it was the worst inside room experience so far in Barcelona. The internet was good, but if you plan to fill your empty hours watching something on Netflix in your room, it's barred; too bad. There is a terrace on the roof and a nice bar. To make it short, if you are ok with those, the hotel is good enough, for me just didn't work.

The hotel is a great base to explore Barcelona, with some lovely

We had a good stay the rooms were nice and the bed was comfortable. Hotel is close to a lot of restaurants and nice pastry cafes for a nice breakfast. We were walking distance to La Rambla for shopping. Only problem was that we had to carry our luggage up about 8 steps to get into the lobby. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Wonderful location on La Rambla and a short walking distance from Placa de Catalunya. The breakfast buffet is very well done, with a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, pastries, egg dishes, meats, etc. The hotel was very booked for our stay so they upgraded our room (apologizing for the change!) We ended up with rooms with large balconies with amazing views of La Rambla. I've stayed at a few places in Barcelona, but the Regente has easily been the best experience.

Quite a walk from metro stop with luggage, but then found a really close one!! Street cafes right at the front door, bakeries EVERYWHERE! Great little place recommended for a quick, low budget breakfast half a block away. Lots of places of interest just a few blocks and warm staff ready to give you tips to good places!! Would stay here again!

The hotel is extremely well located, just 1 block away from Casa Battlo, and on Las Ramblas. Nice and convenient for a short stay. Bed covers could be nicer and higher range, for a 4*s
The location is very convenient, well insulated from any noises, close to lots of terraces and restaurants, and it is not on the less crowded and wider part of Las Ramblas, so walking is not annoying,

Shopping Guadi Transportation - Heart of Barcelona

This is an extremely convenient hotel. Located a block or so from the Passeig de Gràcia station, one can ride on several Metro lines and the N2 to El Prat. It is a truly well run, clean, well appointed hotel with a professional and accommodating staff.
