We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Alma Barcelona. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome with warm, attentive service that never felt forced. The room was elegant, quiet, and thoughtfully designed, with high-end touches that made it feel like a luxurious retreat.

The location is unbeatable — just steps from Passeig de Gràcia, yet tucked away enough to feel like a peaceful escape from the city buzz. One of the true highlights was the garden courtyard — a tranquil oasis perfect for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening.

The breakfast was top-notch, with fresh, high-quality ingredients and an à la carte menu that elevated the experience far beyond a standard hotel buffet.

We travel often and stay in many great hotels, but Alma stood out as something truly special. We will definitely return. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Alma, Barcelona. but a few suggestions to the hotel management

1. Please update your room with USB charger outlets. Nowadays, travelers are simply carrying mobile devices with USB. Yes, we can get loaner adaptors from the front desk - but it is just one extra step that your hotel can do to make it simpler.
2. My wife, and I think she speaks for all ladies, find it inconvenient not having a dressing mirror in the room and a magnified mirror in the bathroom

Hotel is wonderful, perhaps a few small enhancements will make it even better

The room was a bit small & there was not sufficient space for baggage except on the floor or bed. The design in the shower causes splashing outside of it & will eventually cause damage to the flooring, there was minimal space at the sink for one's toiletries & lighting at the mirror over the sink was less than sufficient. There is a need for instructions for the operation of the lights, thermostat & shower. Except as noted above the renovations were well recieved, modern & beautiful but the lighting is unnecessarily dark especially in the hallways & elevator.
The staff at every location was superb, they were friendly, eager to assist, knowledgable, capable & just plain nice people. They made you want to just hang out at the hotel.
We may have had our simplest yet best meal in Barcelona at the restaurant here.

I did not like the booking policy to use the gym.
Also When I went the steam room was close and the sauna was not switch on.
The gym has only few equipment, and a bit claustrophobic
I would expect more for a 5 stars hotel.

Extremely dark interior not everyone's taste

The modern interior design is executed at a very high standard, but the lighting is extremely low so that a women cannot see herself doing make-up and a man cannot see himself shaving. The showers are in the middle of the room without any separation so that if one guest is taking a shower, his/her partner cannot order any room service as the person taking the shower would be fully visible to the hotel staff delivery the ordered items. The renovation budget seems to have been exhausted when it came to the hotel garden. While the garden area has huge potential, it has not been renovated to a 5 star level.

Staff is excellent...front door and front desk personnel are the best I have experienced. The common areas are modern and beautiful. We loved the keyless entry to the lifts and rooms. One thing we didn't like, although the mattresses were comfortable, was the bedding. There is not a top sheet and the comforters are very small individual size...too small to cover a person and way too small for a couple. The sheets also felt worn and in need of replacement.

We were warmly welcomed and greeted with glasses of cava. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable, clean and well designed. The staff are all friendly, professional and very helpful.
We were pleased with the choice of included beverages and coffees in the room. Our 6th floor room had a lovely interior view. Splurge on the amazing breakfast if you can. I would absolutely stay here again.

Good position for central Barcelona.Found the hotel very dark which I guess is in keeping with its modern clean cut look. Garden would be nice in spring. Staff very good as was service. Pool filters were not working so experience poor. Told the staff and they were on fixing the issue.

Great location, customer service, and a beautifully appointed room. Just a gorgeous facility, with amazingly attentive people. we loved literally everything about our stay. Special note: Their garden lounge is ... in a word ... amazing. Late night tapas there are unreal. Highly recommended!

Only kind of weird negative? Room floor had an annoying, persistent squeak riiiiight where you step getting out of bed. Drove my wife mildly nuts in the middle of the night, but we laugh about it now. :)

Beautiful garden even in winter. Lovely room (Deluxe) with heavenly towels. I enjoyed the turn down service. The breakfast was very good. The dinner (a burger) was ok, but the ham croquette was excellent. Thank Expedia Rewards for the bottle of Cava and the room upgrade. Despite being a very short stay, it was outstanding. The best place I have stayed in Barcelona and the best place in a long while. Modern, warm, comfortable, convenient, outdoor views. It is the perfect hotel in the heart of the city. Highly recommend.

Their staff are all great, very helpful and cheerful. Hello to Rocio and Oscar and a couple of others that I forgot to ask for their names who were all excellent people. The place looks good, very minimalist style, a bit dim but comfortable and modern. The showers are great. You have to be there to appreciate it because the pictures look like it's very standard-looking place, or as I joke looks like an asylum (because the walls are bare) but really, it's a great place! Due to the rainy weather and tour schedules, didn't get a chance to eat much or try the garden area and the spa, too bad. Location is excellent! So happy with the location! I would stay here again next time I visit Barcelona. I highly recommend it.

The staff are very friendly and helpful especially the front desk and the people who help me for my luggage’s . I love that I received a Cava bottle on each of my check in . I love that the VIP access have free beverages everyday from the mini bar . The garden and the lounge is relaxing and encourage me to hang out . The interior is beautiful especially those flower arrangement . I like smelling those Jasmine flowers when sitting down .

This is a lovely clean and modern hotel. The location is central to everything. The staff were friendly and helpful. We loved our deluxe room, it was impressively large. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is modern and clean. Loved the large open walk in shower. Fingerprint access to the bedroom. Free mini bar daily and twice a day room service. Breakfast was nice and delicious, however we would've like to see more options for vegetarian and also a full english.

Many time in Barcelona but this was our first time at Alma. We have stayed at mandarin oriental and many more hotels and suites in BC but so far Alma has been the best. We stayed at the executive suite for total of 8 nights. Room was spacious, clean and staff are very helpful, professional and courteous. Food at the hotel is excellent...They were so flexible and I just ordered what I liked and they would make it happen. Food is prepared very well, delicious, fresh and good quality. Location of the hotel is fantastic and safe. We really enjoyed our stay. The only things I can complain about first is that u have some street noise if ur room is on the street side. Second is, every time I got off the elevator to go to the room carpet was dirty, it could be because of the dark color carpet too. Generally a great stay and I would definitely stay there again. Thanks to all the staff to make our stay special.

Concierge at checkin went out of his way to provide recommendations of where to eat, where to go, etc. Someone had charged some incidentals to our room in error and the concierge at check out took care of it for us. Overall great stay. Also loved the finger print access to our room. Hotel surpassed my expectations.

Very nice property, great welcome and service, perfect location: on a quiet side street, just around the corner to Paseig de Gracia and two minutes walk to the underground station. My only complaint was that there was no full mirror in the room and the bathroom area was very dark. I would definitely stay here again.

The Alma is a beautiful hotel with the most friendly and accommodating staff who are truly the hotel's best asset.

Our party was there celebrating a big birthday and the staff were amazing. Very helpful in suggesting where to go and every recommendation was a success.

They helped print our boarding passes and rail tickets.

The garden bar is so peaceful and relaxing. The roof top had great views of the city too. Definitely a visit for the summer.

Overall one of the most lovely hotels that made us feel so welcome. I'd definitely go back.

One thing that stands out and makes this hotel unique has to be the front office experience, such a warm and welcoming check-in. A special thank you to them all for making our trip to Barcelona a memorable one. Secondly the garden is so tranquil we never wanted to leave, so even if not staying at hotel I recommend a visit to the garden for or coffee or cava.

This is a beautiful, peaceful hotel with friendly, helpful and erudite staff just off a bustling street with an array of luxury shops. I can only commend the staff for making us feel so at home during our stay and attending to our needs.

The only negatives were that we dined in the hotel bar/garden one evening and the service was slow and confused, mainly because the poor waiter was trying to serve the whole bar and garden by himself. He tried his best but he needed more help. There was also a power cut on our final night in the hotel which ruined our evening somewhat. Obviously it was out of the control of the staff but we literally had to pack to leave in pitch darkness, with only the light from my phone to help. Also the only English TV channel was BBC World News. Not a huge issue but quite disappointed when there was an array of Spanish, German, Italian and even Russia channels to choose from!

The tv programs available were disappointing with hardly anything in English and no premium channels.
The executive rooms were supposed to have 2 tv’s but in reality only had one.
The light breakfast in the bar was eye wateringly over the top expensive. Beware of the ‘extras’
