This property is in a great location. Rooms are extremely small, but cleaned daily. Our room was on the interior which made it quiet but provided very little natural light The property is a bit tricky to get into for the first time but easy after that. We enjoyed our stay here but found ourselves needing to sit in the common areas provided as the room is just big enough to sleep in.

A quaint old building and a good location
We stayed at Allys House Barcelona twice. Once before our cruise and then after our cruise to see the sights in Barcelona. I am used to European hotels so it was no surprise that the rooms are small, plumbing and interior is old but it was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good but they could have started it much earlier than 8:30 AM. American tourist are used to getting up early and getting started. There was an elevator that worked but was quite old. Our first room was so small that I could not get my shoulders close to the sink bowl to brush my teeth. Second room was better and had a balcony for a view. The location was good within walking distance of two metro lines, Verdauger and Diagonal, All in all I would stay there again if the price was a bargain mostly because of the location. I would rate this hotel a 2-3 .

This was our second time staying there the rooms are small but you don't goto Barcelona to stay in your room. We were there when the power went out in Spain and Italy it was close to our time to leave so we had very little euros left as we didn't want any left over, and with no power you couldn't use a card the staff gave us some food so we could have something to eat.

Rude staff, slipped in the shower and hurt my neck, shower drain broken in half, balcony occupied by 3 AC units so no way to actually go on it, woken up at 6am by the bar downstairs unloading a whole truck of kegs for an hour. Felt unwelcome. Would not have mentioned anything if we hadn’t been greeted by nothing but attitude.

Our stay was ok. We arrived walking by foot and were trying to find the guest house as there was not any big sign, just on the boozer. The building was old but well cared overall. The entrance hall and place for breakfast seemed nice and clean. A big plus was the water tank that we could drink water in plastic cups. Our room's conditions was moderate ( marks on walls, door frame damaged) towels and pack of tissues were provided. Whenever there was use of water(shower/sink etc.) in the bathroom there was a quite loud noise following-refilling?-In the morning there was too much noise coming from the main road that didn't let us enjoy our sleep.

It was hard to find. Nothing to show the name. Was on a floor in a building. Guy in there ignored me as I struggled with my luggage past him into an old, tiny elevator. The lady whom greeted me didn’t speak much English and was quite rude. She checked me in as I was very early. I was able to leave my luggage. Had to come back at check in. I didn’t even know what room was mine as no one was there at 1. Another fellow helped me out by putting my key in the doors till I found my room. Too bad, place was clean and in great location. Very noisy outside till late. Food was very good in morning

Host is a racist, not friendly to Chinese people
The host was not friendly at all. Maybe because we are from China. She was always staring at us and made us very uncomfortable. Besides, the host sticks a note in the kitchen said don't take anything out to eat, and even translated it in Chinese. By the way, the translation sucks and unreadable. Use a translator!

Good location, very good service and help from Veronica. It is a relatively good deal in terms of the price. On the downside, Ally's is hard to find from the street as the sign near the door is very small. The bath down the hall was not convenient and the room was very small. There are too many keys; rather confusing. We never locked our bedroom door at night for fear of needing to get up for the bathroom and having to fumble with the keys in the night (the only way to lock the door from the inside).

It’s a very friendly, comfortable, and clean place to stay in close proximity to all Barcelona’s major attractions. The service was impeccable and my sister and I were very pleased with our stay at Ally’s. The only things I would recommend for improvement: 1) breakfast (nice and delicious!) is served way too late - starting at 8:30. We had to skip it a few times due to excursions and trips that began much earlier. 2) Please, please invest some money into replacing outdated appliances! The old (very old) tea pot basically never worked and when it worked, there was a strong odor of burning plastic (fire hazard!!!). Also, there were exposed wires on a broken night table lamp. These are easy-to-fix issues. Other than that, Ally’s Guest House was a wonderful place to stay and I would recommend it to my friends and family without hesitation. Having a chance to drink tea/coffee with pastries at any time of the day was priceless :)

Ally was extremely nice and fully cleaned our room everyday. The AC was a life saver and she was helpful in telling us good sights and helping us get to the airport. Also the location was essential for amazing restaurants and the Sagrada Familia!

The location is great but we were treated very poorly. The owner was very rude to us and yelled us for being messy when all we did was leave a bit of water on the floor after showering. It made the rest of our stay very awkward. The breakfast was disappointing and they would not let us take more than one glass of water to drink so we had to buy all of our own

The B&B was 20 to 30 mins walking distance to places like the Plaza Cataluña, La Rambla, metro etc. But when I got to the airport I called several times to be picked up and they never answered. My advantage was that I spoke the Language so I took the bus and then the metro to get to the hotel, that didnt cause a very good impresion. When I told them that I was calling them and they didnt answered they didnt even apologized they just say did you arranged to be picked up because we charge for that service. My room was not ready until 1pm as they say. I picked that B&B because transportation and breakfast but didnt get either one because they dont serve breakfast until 830am and my flight left at 0820am the following day...

The staff was rude and condensending! The room/building was in ill repair and very unclean. We were so disgusted with everything, that we left after the first night of what was to be a two night stay. Would not recommend!!!!!

Conveniently located close to metro stations and several Modernista landmarks, this little guest house was comfortable and homey. Extra points for 24 hour coffee, small balcony of of our room, and complimentary luggage storage after check out.

We booked Ally's purely on price so were not expecting the Ritz. So we were surprised at how good it was. The staff/management could have been more helpful and obliging and the room was spotless. Highly recommended! Convenient location (close to Verdaguer Station - L4, L5), walking distance to La Sagrada Família & Passeig de Gràcia area. Owners are friendly & efficient. The flat is well kept & clean. Breakfast is nice & sufficient. Street can be loud so bring good ear plugs. There is towels, soap & hair dryer supplied, but do bring your own shampoo & conditioner.

Overall the hotel is nice, breakfast was ok. It was very close to La sagrada familia which is a plus. The only thing I didn’t like was that they didn’t have a TV. (I know!!) who wants to watch TV when you’re vacationing? But it is always nice to get back to your room and watch something while you shower or get ready to sleep. That’s my opinion. The room is very spacious, as well as the bathroom, however to shower is a challenge and kind of uncomfortable, but doable.

We had a room with a private bathroom with shower. The room wasn't luxurious by any means but was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful--though not around all of the time. They were around in the mornings usually and I suppose i could have called or buzzed if we needed something at other times but we didn't. There was a common room with 2 comfortable chairs in a bay window, a TV, and 2 breakfast tables. They had individually packaged muffins, tea/instant coffee/hot chocolate powder, microwave, small refrigerator, and water boiler available at all hours. Breakfast was included and consisted of orange juice, white/wheat bread to toast, butter, jams and honey, 2 cold cereals, yogurt, fruit (not fresh), fresh bananas/apples, and Spanish tortilla (egg/potato omelet). The breakfast wasn't anything special but was fine. The location was good with easy accessibility to Metro/restaurants, 10 min walk to Sagrada Familia or La Pedrera, 20 min walk to Placa de Catalunya. The Wifi worked well for us during the weekdays but was very spotty on Saturday and Sunday. There isn't any sign on the building to get your attention--we arrived late at night and had a little trouble finding it. Just find building with street number and then use buzzer that says \"Ally's.\" Balcony off our room was quaint but not big enough to really use comfortably. We could hear the street noise outside but it wasn't a problem for us.

Charming Hotel
We enjoyed Ally's Guest House, especially because the staff was so accommodating. We coordinated a late arrival, which was no issue. The location was near a major street, so there was some traffic noise but we easily blocked that out. Our room had plenty of space, two extra beds actually. We also had complementary coffee on our terrace in the morning - very cute. From the hotel, we were able to walk to La Rambla in about 10 minutes and strolled throughout the city for the day. We ended up at Barceloneta Beach and took a cab home, which was less than 10 euros and totally worth it. We walked to La Sagrada Familia in about 5 minutes the next morning no problem. We had a later train, and the staff was very accommodating when it came to storing our luggage. Definitely would stay there again, especially since it's away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy center but close enough to walk to.

Basic breakfast so we went hungry for breakfast elsewhere. So many keys to deal with & the keys were loose in key holes which was so frustrating & stressful as at one stage got stuck in the key hole. Staff weren't very friendly or helpful due to language barrier.

We were satisfied with the guest house. The receptionist is extremely friendly. She speaks English as much as you may need to ask questions about the stay. The only one thing that made as dissatisfied was the internet speed. It was extremely slow. Slower than the dial up 25 year ago. There was no option to buy a higher speed internet. They should take care of that. I am not sure if I will stay there anymore because of the internet speed. The breakfast is saris factory. You may not use it every day if you stay longer than 3 days. we stayed for 7 day.

Why I chose this B&B is because Expedia gave me a 50% discount. I did not have too much expectation on the hotel before I leave. Once I arrived, the hotel is above my expectation. The room is clean. A free breakfast is provided. The staff is very nice. The WIFI is fast. The location is quite close to the shopping district Passeig de Gracia and Sagrada Familia. It is very helpful that there is a self-serve laundromat close by (6 min walk).
