We stayed here for 2 nights and had an excellent experience.

The staff were very nice, professional and very welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable.

The location is fantastic, close to metro station and located in the city centre. It is very convenient for exploring Barcelona and getting around the city.

The room was a good size, clean and very comfortable. The air-con worked perfectly, and the amenities provided were of great quality. Everything felt well thought out and maintained.

We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely choose this hotel again on our next visit to Barcelona. Highly recommended!

Room was not what was expected. There was a smell throughout the room, the shower drain did not drain properly, the sink gurgled when the shower was running, and the shower buttons did not work, among other things. Very disappointing with the price.

Breakfast was very good. The room was clean, bright and spacious, comfortable beds. Great location, close to lots of shops and cafes. The only thing That I didn’t like was the outside noise. My room was on E floor facing the street on the lowest level above the lobby and you could hear everything from the outside.

The staff at this hotel is great and super attentive including the luggage porters and security. Raul from guest relations was excellent resource.

The hotel is an excellent location. However where this hotel suffers is the wide variance between rooms even of the same category. My second stay here in span of two weeks, and my room this time was 829 with spectacular view of sagrada familia and massive terrace. This room was much nicer than my 3rd floor terrace room with ugly view. My other room I booked for my parents was 803. A tiny terrace without dated bathroom. We were able to switch to 123 which was a little better.

Still just such a big difference between rooms makes for inconsistent experience. The pillows must be updated. And the towels are in need of update in my opinion

Great location but room for improvement.

Stayed 2 night at this hotel. Its location is excellent. One of the best areas to stay in Barcelona. The front desk staff are excellent and attentive. Tons of security in the front as well.

As for the room. I had room with terrace. The terrace was huge but it did not have a decent view at all, which was disappointing.

Bathroom was fine. Closet was in weird location that didn’t really let you store luggage in there.

Bed was sturdy but mattress could be softer. However the pillows were awful. Also rooms let a lot of sound in (not from
The outside) but from the hallways. In the morning you can hear people entering & leaving roommates, hear house keeping etc. It is a little annoying when you are trying to sleep in.

Nice rooftop and the breakfast buffet is excellent.

The location of the hotel is quite good, but the service attitude of the staff was truly shocking. The front desk staff were impatient, indifferent, and even mocked the guests. This is the first time in my life I have ever encountered such treatment. Before choosing this hotel, we had read reviews and carefully compared different options before deciding to stay here. I suggest that anyone considering this hotel think twice before booking.

While the location of this property is undeniably excellent, everything else fell far short of expectations for a 5-star hotel. I would generously rate it at 3 stars maximum.

The interior felt dated and worn, with damaged furniture, strange layouts, and an overall lack of upkeep. The design choices were confusing—particularly in my room, where the hallway had a frosted glass window with no curtain, offering minimal privacy. I’ve stayed in many hotels, and I’ve never encountered such an odd and impractical design.

The check-in process was also poorly organized, with a queue forming in front of the entrance, obstructing access to the elevator and creating an awkward flow.

In short, this property is in serious need of renovation and modernization. It simply does not look like a 5-star hotel to me.

We walked into the room and it didnt smell humid, it smelled moldy. It was such a strong smell. Then our new room was smaller and thw pipes leaked after showering so it sounded like a loud clock. We waited in the lobby for a while bevause they took their time in checking us out and getting luggage and their AV is broken and has been for years. Definitely not anything higher than a 3 star

We have been last year and had a lovely time but now I wouldn't go back. We were on the 10th floor with the bar above which was very loud. It's very hard to get a sun lounger or even a seat at the bar around 8ish as it allows people from different hotels to use the facilities. We couldn't use the pool as a hen night from the 3 star hotel next door used the pool on the Saturday and Sunday so there wasn't any loungers.

I admittedly booked with this hotel last minute due to some unforeseen travel issues. I booked a suite with one bed and the first room they gave us was on the 1st floor had ONE small recessed window facing a wall 4ft away. The sitting area had NO windows at all.There was virtually no natural light coming in. The pictures on expedia showed large windows in the bed room AND the sitting area. We can't expect the rooms to be exactly as shown but this was too much.

I asked if they can change our room and the receptionist was accomodating. But we got another suite on the first floor. This one was only slightly better. There was a window half the size shown in Expedia in the bedroom and it was facing the street and not a wall. I was still not happy with it but I couldn't bring myself to complain to reception a second time.

I can't speak on suites on other floors but the ones on the first floor are not good in my opinion.

Aside from that, the hallways on the first floor also have a stuffy smell that kind of diminishes what should be a 5 star hotel stay.

Aside from that, our experience was okay. The staff were friendly and the location of the hotel itself is very good. Housekeeping did a good job cleaning the room and the breakfast buffet had a broad range of options. However, I'd argue these are all things you expect to get by default when booking at a 5 star hotel

There are several other hotels in that general area and I recommend checking to see what else available.

Perfect location on Las Ramblas, one of the most famous streets in Barcelona with easy access to high end shopping, the city market and great restaurants. It's central location makes it convemient to get to any location in Barcelona. Fantastic views of the city from the awesome rooftop pool and bar, including Sagrada Familia in the distance. This will be my first choice Hotel whenever I visit Barcelona again.

Let's start off by clarifying that this is definitely not a 5-star establishment. The service was extremely poor; we had to lug 4 suitcases across the street for 15m to get to the hotel because there was a marathon happening and lots of streets were closed. When we brought this up to the manager to try to understand why were were not given a heads up, even though I had shared my expected arrival time, they simply said \"this doesn't concern us, it's the city\".. and we got a bottle of water... The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and it smelled like sewage everywhere. I wanted to stay at a local hotel to support small businesses but please, take your money and go to the Meridien or any other well established chain because they know hospitality.

Didn’t like the cleaning service, floor was dirty after cleaning…No sound isolation at all , heard how my neighbours taking shower at 5 am!! Towels are bad like 3 start hotel quality! And AC making wierd annoying sound. Stuff on reception are nice and people who work in hotel are friendly. Area is good.

I had a great stay at this hotel! The location is excellent, with shopping stores, restaurants, and a metro station all nearby. Many famous tourist attractions are also within easy reach. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming.

One of the nice touches was the availability of drinks and snacks in the lobby for guests to enjoy. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, offering a great start to the day. I was also lucky to get a room with an amazing city view, which made the stay even more enjoyable.

The only minor drawbacks were that the showerhead in the bathroom was positioned a bit too high, and the room itself was slightly small. However, these were not major issues and did not affect my overall experience.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again!

Lovely stay. The conceirge is very polite and helpful in all sorts of enquiries. They even walked an extra mile to surprise us with a birthday cake and a chilled bottle of cava. Offered late check out on Sunday for free. Perfect location. Cleanliness ok, it is not a new hotel but relatively well maintained. Many restaurants nearby that open till midnight, so don't expect a super quiet environment.

We had the best experience ever in the NH Collection Calderon in Barcelona. They have the best breakfast I have seen in a while, stuffed with fresh cut fruit, all kind of eggs, Catalan specialties, sweets, bread and even a morning salad bar with the most amazing guacamole! The smoothies and fresh juices are exceptional, no powdered juices here!

The hotel is well located near the Catalunya square where you can take a metro or one of the hop on buses, or visit the old town.

The hotel also has an amazing view from the rooftop pool and bar, excellent to spend a relaxing afternoon, enjoying a drink or some tasty bites.

Although a little small, the rooms are nicely decorated, very clean, yet with, in our case, a rather unpractical bathroom with a good walk in rain-shower.

All in all it’s one of those places where they do go the extra mile as to accommodate their guests, with a special thanks to Javier who made our stay something extraordinary.

Check-in process was bad, room wasn’t ready after 3pm. Had to wait longer, asked for a higher floor but with two double beds as that’s what we booked but there wasn’t room available at a higher floor. Ended up in a room on the 3rd floor with tiny window. Stay in the room was very depressing. Rooftop was nice.

Un hotel “okay” para el paso en un lugar súper bueno y estratégico pero no me encantó el olor a cañería en mi piso el piso 1 fue insoportable no se si tenían algún problema pero el olor era horrible, la piscina se veía bella, el piso 11 muy linda vista de toda la ciudad, nos tomamos unos trajes allí pero una noche no nos quisieron dar unos muebles que porque era para grupos grandes luego llegaron 2 señoras y las sentaron en el lugar donde nos dijeron que no podíamos sentarnos porque éramos solo 2 así que es conveniente por la localización pero nada wow

So Ive never written a negative review but I had an ant infestation in my room the last night of my stay, it was very unfortunate as there were ants all over the bathroom. Also had cigarette smoke smell coming in the AC vent in the mornings.

Given the prices they charge, I felt the room was too expensive. The furniture was really old, and the room didn't look like anything the photos. I was really disappointed since I had stayed at other NH Collection hotels, and this one wasn't on the same level.

On the positive side, the hotel is in an excellent location and the staff was great.

Slow service, charged tourist tax for child

On checking out today I questioned being charged tourist tax for a 15 year old when the hotels.com says not chargeable for children. Hotel insisted the charge stands and wouldn’t budge. Really disgusted and it’s 5 star in name only,… service is not outstanding, we waited 40 minutes for food by the pool. The exterior room view was a wall. Avoid as it’s not 5 star and dishonest charging tourist tax for children.
