La temperatura del hotel la tienen controlada y es muy alta aún en invierno, es muy difícil descansar, las habitaciones internas son asfixiantes y aunque nos cambiaron de habitación a una con vista externa, el calor se concentra demasiado.

The room itself is basic but clean and functional. Sadly, it’s very noisy if you have a room facing the main road. I was on the 2nd floor and heard nothing but traffic, shouting from passers by and sirens all night, every night. If you’re a light sleeper or not used to city noises, that’s not ideal. There was also a small cockroach in the bathroom was, while I appreciate they’re everywhere, wasn’t pleasant. Otherwise, the hotel is in a great location and the staff are all great.

Good location but unhealthy heating system

I booked my room through hotels.com and saw good reviews. The location is very central and some staff are polite. However, I was allocated a tiny room on the 7th floor with only a small window facing an interior patio. The room had some vents that were constantly pushing very hot air into the room. The air conditioning was not working because is winter and there was NO AIR coming in from outside, since this was an interior patio - only smell from nearby restaurant kitchens came in, but no air. I explained that the room was very hot, but I was denied 'an upgrade' and was told by the receptionist in the afternoon that I got what I paid for. When I came back in the evening I was sweating and feeling sick, with a headache due to the heat. The lady downstairs explained that this is the system they have, it is either very hot or cold, they cannot regulate it and neither can the guests, because the room was very small and interior, the effect was more intense, turning my room into a sauna/oven with 25 degrees at one point. I went to reception and said I had to sleep in the lobby because I would asphyxiate in that room. She eventually offered me a room on the first floor, with no heating at all, which was actually pleasant in comparison. I eventually got to sleep at 3am. I would avoid this place unless they change the heating system.

This hotel is overrated as 4 stars. The location is great and the rooms are clean. However, there is no coffeemaker in the room. The nightstands are so tiny. The windows are not soundproof. Our room was on the street side and we could hear the street noise all night. They have very bad service. When my husband asked for an extra blanket he was told to pick it up from the front desk. This is unheard of. Do not stay at this hotel. It is overrated and overpriced.

The location of this hotel is great. It is very close to Catalunya Plaza and is convenient to various public transportation and tourist attractions.
The property was built around 2017, which is pretty new. Unfortunately, it is not well maintained. The TV remote and the phone did not work. The staff was nice to find me a replacement TV remote. The shower door makes loud squeaking noise. There was obvious mold stains on the shower seals. The sound isolation between the rooms were poor. The water jets of the shower unit need to be adjusted to avoid spraying out of the shower area.
In general, this property could be made much better than the current state without spending too much money and could be collecting higher room rates.

They must’ve been something wrong with the window sensors, so my air-conditioner was not working. I told staff about this over three days and nothing changed. Waking up soaked in sweat because the room wasn’t cool enough. Complimentary hot drinks in the lobby however half of the containers were empty didn’t get filled up for a day and a half. Black tiles in the bathroom, so you can’t see if there’s mould. No extractor fan in the bathroom to pull out all the hot air just a hot mirror.

Booked 3 rooms and 2 rooms air conditioner don't work. It's summer so it's super hot and stuffy air. Can't sleep! They end up put a fan in a room and no fan for another. Day 2, they said they fixed it but obviously its not so 2 nights in a row no air conditioning. Super disappointed for a 4 stars hotel. (That's what they charge and claim on their website) finally they moved us to another 2 rooms after a serious negotiation and get 2 nights refund.
One of the morning we had breakfast at their restaurant, it was 9.30am and they said scrambled egg is finished. However, their breakfast time won't finish till 10.30am. A lot of guests are upset about that, so i talked to the hotel manager and requested scrambled egg. After 10min, they serve scrambled egg again and I saw at least 10 more guests come in between 9.30am and 10.30am. How can a 4 star hotel told guests scrambled egg is finished far from breakfast end time?!
We have no bath gel in our shower, instead, they put 2 shampoos. Not refill our box tissue.
One day one of us not feeling well and rest at hotel, when she felt better and leave the room at 3pm, she told the front desk they can make the room but they said housekeeping already gone home! Interesting! Not sure how they got their 4 stars. I won't recommend anyone to stay there.
The only positive part of the hotel is the location, it's close to Plaza Cataluna. Very convenient. But there are a lot of choice in that area value for money.

Bad experience, never again with Eurostar group

I booked the hotel in advance, paid a lot for the first two days of my stay (formula 1 & St Joan festivities) but my room had a problem with the A/C, I couldnt sleep during two nights because of that. I asked the hotel to cancel the rest of my reservation to go somewhere else, of course they declined my request.

During the two days they told me that the technician was working onsite solving the issue. Of course was not true. They finally gave another room after I asked for it o the third day.

I also wrote the hotel a message on the hotel.com app, never got an answer.
The funny part they asked me to book a taxi to the airport.

I called expedia and of course they didnt do much either. I will put a claim on the Barcelona’s consumer bureau.

Great location easy to walk everywhere in the Gothic Quarter, easy to checkin and check-out. I would say beware of the AC though. We went when the weather was in the 70s (F) and we opened the windows and got a really pleasant breeze all day. But the AC was not what one gets in the States, it was quite faint even at full power and it is centrally controlled by the front desk staff. So I would hesitate to recommend this location in the hotter summer days. Staff was helpful and kind, and it was nice to get daily room service.

This place charged me over $650 for the first night for the very basic room (the room was still available at $220 in Expedia when I checked in) and over $440 on the 2nd night for a very small tiny old bedroom with a smelly bathroom, 2 big columns were blocking in the middle of the bedroom so the room is even smaller for 2 adults. Only because I booked ahead of time I had to pay full for the first night anyway. The place was not worth over $200 even considering its location is near the La Rambla. There was no voluntary VIP access so I requested the promised wine on the next day and room upgrade which was slightly bigger than basic room. Their breakfast needs improvement. Not many options compared to where I stayed in the other hotels for the same trip.

I have stayed in the hotel and the facilities are OK,
however, there are 2 comments I have:
1. Breakfast was not starting on time, and the eggs were cold (in the 2 days I stayed), coffee machine was not working well, the guy had to fix it during the breakfast.
2.When it was time to check out, I have forgotten a bag in the room with a bottle of wine, came afternoon to ask for the bag, but in the hotel they told me it was not found.
This is impossible, I know exactly where it was left, not something that can be missed when you clean the room.
In any case, it was not found.

Barely a 3* hotel with paper walls

The best feature of this hotel is its location. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Cleaning is effective. Beds are very comfortable.

But otherwise… it is barely a 3* hotel: rooms have no coffee machine or basic utensils like shoe horn or shoe polish. Windows in our room could not be closed (broken handles) and the legs of the table were about to fall. Condition of the 2nd floor is rather worn. The bathroom soap container fell with the first touch. The drain cover kept moving as you showered.

After a sleepless night because of the noise from outside, we were moved to room with closeable windows. But noise was coming from the nextdoor room - simply because walls are paper thin. At 3AM I had to get up and bang the neighbor’s door to end their party. When quiet, I could still hear other guests talking or walking in their room.

Air conditioning cannot be controlled in the room - a request has to be made at front desk, but even then it only works for some hours - I never figured it out. Telephone in the room has no instructions how to call the front desk, thus it is unusable - and one gets tired constantly going to ask for something… like for the VIP gift, a bottle of wine, which you have to ask for (do not expect it to be in the room on arrival with a welcome note) or even DRINKING GLASSES…! Those impossible to get in this hotel, you are only allowed to take paper cups from the breakfast room coffee machine). If you have a VIP status, you definitely will not feel it here.

Cuando reserve el hotel coloque un filtro de fitnes center y breakfast included. Cosa que no paso. No tenia gimnasio y el desayuno tampoco estaba indicado. Cuando hice el check out me cobraron $60 por 4 desayunos. De haberlo sabido no hubiese comido ahi. Por $15 hubiese tenido un mejor desayuno en otro lado.

My room so smelling cigarette smoke just terrible, the answer I got from the reception was the hotel was full so the couldn’t give another room. So I just ask if I could get another quilt ( it just smell so terrible impossible to sleep with such a smell). Again the receptionist said she didn’t know where the quilt were so she just gave me just another douvet cover ( not douvet). And not to say about the pillows that I couldn’t sleep with as the smell was so much terrible. I was surprised of the not very helpful service and the conditions of the room as it is not the first time I stayed at that hotel ( previous experience was way better).

Our room is very modern which is our preference. The hotel location is very central to the areas that we wanted to walk around in. It's a few minutes walk from Las Ramblas. The bathroom provisions are great, except that the bathtub is very slippery, so extra caution is necessary getting in and getting out of the shower.

If tapas bars are not your culinary preference, there's a smokehouse right next door to enjoy good traditional barbeque dishes, American style.

Since we needed covid testing prior to our Mediterrenean cruise, there is a clinic within a block of the hotel which is very convenient, but be aware that this clinic is not open on weekends.

The only drawback that we experienced in this hotel was the $15.00 charge per breakfast. Otherwise, there are options for breakfasts outside of the hotel.

We'll most likely choose this hotel again when we come back to Barcelona.

A very friendly staff, especially Edgar, who checked me in and gave me information on how to find things I needed in the area. I will keep this hotel in mind for my next visit and recommend it to friends. It's only about a four minute walk to the airport bus shuttle and even less to the metro. I do little more than coffee in the morning so I skipped the expensive breakfast as there are a number of places for cappuccino nearby. There is a small terrace on the roof where you can catch a bit of sun although the furniture is not too comfortable. Don't miss the nearby restaurant Macchina for excellent inexpensive pasta creations. I hope to return soon to the Exe Plaza!

Shower head was twisted funny and couldn't put it in the right position, went downstairs to let them know my bathroom was flooded after my shower, left for a couple of hours, came back and still flooded.
I wanted to sleep in and cleaning lady was so noisy when cleaning the room adjacent to mine! Her phone rang full volume and then the whole conversation! I had a do not disturb sign and yet, it was noisy.
Staff wasn't particularly friendly, just regular.
So many hotels in the same area I don't need to come back to this one.

Very warm rooms, uncomfortable to sleep in.

Very warm rooms with no possibility to turn on the air conditioning. During the winter months they switch the A/C from cooling to heating and since this is a central system there is no way for you to lower the temperature. Since it's Barcelona, even during the winter months it can get quite warm outside. During our stay it was about 16-18 degrees Celsius outside, but the room was well over 20 degrees celsius, making it a very uncomfortable hot night.

Staff was extremely unprofessional and outright rude. Would not stay here again.

The hotel is located very close (200 feet) to Plaza Catalanya, next to Gothic Quarter. I had a cozy room, not large, not small - just right for one person. Friendly English-speaking receptionist answered all my questions. Breakfast at the hotel early in the morning gave me the opportunity to explore the city without a delay.

We stayed again at Exe Plaça Catalunya because we loved our first stay a couple of weeks ago. All around great hotel: clean, comfortable, updated furniture and bathroom, very nice staff.

Excellent hotel!

Our stay at this hotel was lovely. Ari at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a central location, just a few steps from Plaza Catalunya. It is in great shape and very clean. We found a seal on our room door when we first entered, attesting to the cleaning and sanitizing that was done. We would love to stay here again sometime in the future!
