I’ve read all the reviews, most of them are positive but we struggled to find many positives. I booked superior rooms and we ended up upstairs in small rooms, our friends who booked a standard room were downstairs in a much bigger room? There were no fridges in the rooms and in a climate like this a fridge is a basic, expecting people to share a fridge downstairs isn’t reasonable. There was no tv, no handrail at the top of the stairs for safety and when we asked for pool towels we were offered 1 towel for 5 people, eventually we were offered 2 more, apparently they were all away at the laundry. After the first night 4 couples left moving to somewhere that offered at least the basics. Satya is in a central position that’s good but charging a little more and giving people a fridge would be a very good idea.

The Satya house has beautiful gardens and the rooms are very spacious and clean. Outside each room there is a reception area with chairs and table, so we can sit and admire the garden and listen to the birds. there is a lovely swimming pool.
The location is great, walking distance to restaurants, temples, market, etc.

Clean and quiet place. The room I got doesn’t get much natural light as the windows are tiny (on the wall near the ceiling) but the lights, once switched on are bright. Air cond is cold, shower/toilet is clean and basic. There is hot water and water pressure is good. Staff are friendly and helpful. Would be great to have a working power point next to the bed - some maintenance needed on this. Only other power point available and that worked is the one for the night lamp but that’s right by the door and not close to the bed.

The staff was amazing when we arrived. The asked to give them a few minutes to prepare the room ant it was worth it. We stayed in a room with a great view of the pool. The hotel is quiet and very comfortable. I recommend this wonderland place.

It was a very nice place to stay, very nice staff. We had a room that had air conditioning but not remote to turn it on. Turns out for air Conditioning we would need to pay an extra $5 per night. We were not impressed but it was too hot not to have it so we paid the money.

The room was basic but clean and comfortable, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The location was great- near lots of restaurants, bars and a supermarket nearby. The monkey forest is close too. The only negatives were the water pressure in the tap - a tiny trickle and the rooster which liked to make noise in the night- bring good earplugs! Overall happy with my stay.

Good location within walking distance of everything. Friendly staff who organised a driver for us. Really good shower. Just be aware that because it is a small place you may not get the double/twin option you want. They allowed us to move when another room became available though which was great.

Great, affordable place to stay in the centre of Ubud. You barely see the family but they are kind and just say hello. The guy who runs it is really nice and always available if you need anything.

The hotel has a great location. Other than that we experienced blood and dirt on blankets, no bed linen and very lazy and confusing service.

When we first arrive to the hotel they told us that they were fully booked which is odd, since we had a booking. So we had to spend our first night at a other nearby hotel without extra costs of course, but that was'nt quite what we had in mind when we had travel for almost 48 hours.. but the next 5 days we spent at Satya House.
Our overall impression of the hotel is good. We stayed in a room with balcony, AC and double bed. The hotel provides Wifi in every area, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. They serve breakfast every morning from 08:00 am until 10:00 am, and you can choose to have your breakfast on your balcony, which is nice.
During our 5 nights they didn't clean our room once, they didn't empty our trashcan and we had to ask for new toiletpaper every time we went out.
The hosts were nice and tried to help the best way possible. Not so good english.
But overall: you get what you paid for if you want to stay in the centre of Ubud, and if you don't mind the non-cleaning, I would recommend this for adults not children.
