poor sop on the maintenance of the room standard.

this is my first time write a review since using Hotel.Com.
this is the second time, I stay in the same hotel. First time i booked standard room, but this time we upgrade and stay with bigger room hope the standard are different.
at the end we found more worse than standard room.
- room bell not working.
- floor is dirty - so many hairs every ware and sticky
- sofa at living room very dirty a lot of black stain.
- dining chair on dining table a lot of black stain and holes.
- toilet sit not clean
- shower floor slippery and dirty
- shower gel empty
- bathtub not able to drain the water
- towel dirty
- bedsheet many holes and dirty
- service doors for compressor are not lock
- shall have physical phone because not able to contact reception using google nest and need to go down to front to request something.

however, they provide us the welcome cake which we appreciated this.

Not nearly as nice as it appears in photos. Nothing is really walkable in the area and the only real attraction is the shopping mall. Hotel was dated and bathroom was really awkward with a shade over a glass wall.
Bed was decently comfortable.
Would only stay here if business required it. Not for couples/holiday.

A great value for your money

Staff and service was exceptionally excellent. They went out of their way to attend to our needs. My 6 year old granddaughter left her purse containing money in a common area. We didn’t even realize it was missing until upon checkout they asked if it was ours and returned it intact. They also made car reservations and translated for us. Additionally the breakfast buffet was 5+ stars. Had everything you could imagine beautifully presented. It was a very impressive display and hard to imagine for the price of a night. Well worth the cost of the room. Only con was the building and interior is starting to appear weathered but not enough to distract from the outstanding service and quiet room

In cahoots with crook taxi drivers

In cahoots with crook taxi drivers. I took taxi from airport to this hotel and the taxi driver tried to give me fake receipt with fake numbers from 2 days before the ride even took place. Then I talked to the hotel people here since they can speak indonesian hoping they would tell the driver the ride should only be 100k instead of 200k (we already took the same way before with another taxi and we only paid 100k). Then the hotel people tell me the 200k fee is \"standard\" but when I confronted with the hotel people and the driver with the fake reciept, and the fake dates, the driver tells me it's \"printing error\" and now 'only' demand 150k, and the hotel people tell me it's \"standard\" now, where the standard seemed to change just in 5minutes from 200k to 150k. Yes it's only 50k IDR but the principle is that the hotel should be the customers' advocates not crook cab drivers. My best advice is to avoid this hotel and, or most of all, any taxi services this hotel calls for you

Awesome stay and great hospitality

The staff was really kind and helpful. Check-in was done within 5 minutes.
The room is really clean and the breakfast selection is also great. Dewi also helped mr during the breakfast and she really took care of me and the other guests. Thank you Dewi for the awesome service.
I highly recommend this place as the hotel also has free shuttle to and from the airport, and the location is convenient as well. Really close to a mall and plenty of taxi around.

Leaky walls, ants in bathroom, and roaches in the room. I would not call this a 4 star hotel. Perhaps I got unlucky and was in the older tower where all the problems were, but this was definitely an unpleasant experience. Wifi was mediocre but usable, TV signal kept giving out, and the power went out multiple times throughout the night. Glad I didn't have to stay here for long.

First time in Pluit

Our few day stayed was alright. Breakfast was very good. There were quite a few choices and the menus changed everyday, very satisfying. Spacious room was a plus. However, water pressure was very weak and there was no hot water for a few days. Surrounded areas were not accessible by foot. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was good, Some staff did not have knowledge of the shopping facilities and area of interest nearby, also poor knowledge of the distance from hotel to the Airport, basically did not want to commit to anything. More than what you pay for

It's worth the money. They have free shuttle service to airport (cgk). Their buffet has a good variety. You'll have buns to cakes and salad to rice and noodles and English breakfast. Do note that you can order scramble egg it's part of the buffet. Pool and gym it's okay for the price you're paying I'd say it's okay. The room is spacious but the toilet is abit compact.
I love the customer service here it's really good. And they have food available in the hotel 24/7 on selected dishes.
Cleanliness and house keeping is good. And the staffs are able to speak and understand English. I would say if you're on a budget and you want a hotel that is good. I would say aston will be the best. Because they offer you more than what you pay for. And it's near to emporium pluit mall

Great Staffs, Poor Condition

The good part of the Aston Pluit Jakarta Hotel & Residence is its staff, especially the staff in the restaurant and housekeeping department – professional, active and sincere. Special thanks shall be given to Arum, Devita, Wayan and another young girl who is in the reception position of the restaurant in the morning. Besides, my appreciation is also given to the housekeeper who prepare my room every day (normally after 7 pm) and the front desk staff Crestian and so on.

However, the major problem of the hotel is its facilities and room condition. The gym and swimming pool are both simple and small. The room is big, but the maintenance of the room is not so well, the tap is loosened in my room, and the water for shower is not hot at all (at most warm). Wi-Fi is neither fast nor stable in the room, and you even may find some ants in the room. It, unfortunately, counteracts the efforts that the hotel pays in raising the experience of the guests.

Stayed here on our last night in Jakarta and was able to avail of the free airport shuttle from and to the Jakarta International airport. Their pickup and drop off times are fixed, and I was advised that they arrange transportation on different times of the day but for a fixed price. Luckily our arrival and departure flights’ schedules fit their pickup and drop off schedules with their free airport shuttle.
The hotel is also a condominium so residents occupy the lower floors. The building looks old and needs upgrading. I could see some clothes of residents hung on the windows.
Upon checkin we were given welcome drinks. We had to provide security deposit for possible mini bar purchases.
Elevators were slow and it was hot inside. The room was big and spacious and gave us a good view of the city. Bed was comfortable. The airconditioning wasn’t enough to cool the room - it was already set at 18 degrees but the room still felt warm.
Hotel was walking distance to the Emporium Mall where we had our dinner. When we got back to the room we realized there was a gap on the door so the inside of the room can be seen from the hallway.
Breakfast was delicious and there were many selections.
Service was overall good, the front desk staff asked for our feedback when we checked out.

Most appreciative of human resource manager Yanta (Yanti) who went out of the way to accompanied us by taxi to find a pharmacy to get Tylenol and Advil. A quick note for travelers to Indonesia, pharmacies do not have these over-the-counter products, if you need Tylenol ask for acetamenophen, if you need Advil ask for ibuprophen they have it readily.

Facilities of the hotel are not good in general. The tap in the bathroom is in a nearly broken down condition and the hot water is lukewarm only. The staff was very helpful and friendly which compensated in a certain degree for the poor condition of the room.

Aston Pluit Hotel & Residence

Check-in was smooth & efficient & the front office staff were warm & friendly. Went to the lounge on the mezzanine level for a coffee but it was terribly hot & stuffy. I left after a short while without finishing my coffee.
The breakfast buffet had a nice spread but some dishes were a bit too salty. The Ramadan buffet ran out of the BBQ items within 30min of the start time & the staff said that it finished. This was the most sore point of my stay.
The room was clean & bright & the bed was comfortable. Only fault was the exhaust fan in the bathroom was rather noisy at times.
The staff are friendly & helpful. The location is convenient & the hotel is good value for money. Will come back again

This is a pretty good place to stay overall, however if you're looking to go to the SCBD, I advise you not stay here, as it's a bit too far off, weekends are okay though, weekdays are not, when the jam hits it will take you 2 hours to reach that area. In terms of cleanliness it was great! size of room was very comfy, and the hotel staff were helpful. Quite near the airport (20mins with no jam).

I usually stay at Aston Pluit as it is close to airport. Staff are polite. Normally I would choose room with breakfast which it is a good way to kick off a busy day. The price is value for money. I would definitely recommend to my friends. My little tip is to stay at Tower 2 which is near front desk.

Our stay schedule supposedly Dec 27 to 29 '2016. We only stayed for 1 night only, after that we moves to other hotel. We felt not comfortable. This is our 2nd stay at this hotel, and we facing same problem.
First, the aircon is not cold. They use split aircon, and the aircon fan/wind straight to bed / body. All of our stay the aircon position is same.
Second, the water in the shower is small.
Third, the curtain not able close properly, so early morning, so make room very bright, which is not comfortable for eyes.
Fourth, their door material is thin, so we can hear clearly the sound from outside the room even in the middle of our sleep.
Fifth, the curtain and room is dusty.
Sixth, they only prepare 2 passenger lift, so we must wait for a long time to get on.

Hope my complain will help the hotel to improve.

We spent one night in this hotel and we enjoyed our stay. The Aston Pluit has many amenities you'd expect from a 4 star hotel and it is conveniently located close to restaurants and shopping. It is also fairly close to the airport. The staff is worth mentioning as they are without doubt the best aspect of this hotel, and that reflects well on management. The only negative aspect is that the building is beginning to show some wear and it is in need of some upgrades.

Room wasnt ready during c/in time. Some staff, no greetings when they meet guests in lobby n lift. Ordered room service took 45 mins just for burger and fried rice as informed only 20 mins max. Broken toilet seat in the room. Overall just ok, over price for this type of room.

Value for money stay

I have stayed in Aston Pluit many times, but this last visit there has been significant improvements. There is now free shuttle service to Emporium Pluit and Baywalk. Likewise, there is also free shuttle service to the Airport. Other than the improvement in transport services, there is now a gym room available. I totally enjoy my stay with these new benefits and the friendliness of the staff. I will recommend this as your next stay

Central Location in North Jakarta

The locals work very hard to match american standard and, they did it well. The room is outstanding. they even have dual voltage outlets. Chose the street view to witness the craze of Jakarta’s traffic. it’s awesome, it’s organized chaos and madness. The rooms are co-mingled with private residences, therefore the corridors are not air-conditioned but, no big deal.

Breakfast is abundant with american style combined with local authentic dishes and some Chinese influences, love it and worth the money.
If you have business in Pluit area, this is the place to go. Shopping centers are nearby as well.

I enjoyed the infinity pool everyday, well maintained and clean.

Great Staff, generally clean but badly maintained

Staff are friendly and helpful, generally clean in the room but only to be let down by badly maintained rooms and facilities. Rented a higher level room with a view but the floor needs maintenance as the air vent (aircon) in the foyer has no lid (exposed hole). Then the door trim to my room is broken (can see it was glued on previously perhaps due to prior repair). In side the room the sofa had cigi burnt hole in it, then the aircon was repaired at some stage which require the walls to be chisel out / cut and the patch up work was so bad that you can clearly see it. Disappointing maintenance regime where you would expect that if something is repaired, a hotel with some standard would do it properly as it really doesn't cost that much more to do a 100% job as oppose to a 70% job. Other than that the place is clean and presentable and liveable. If you are after just a place to sleep, then this hotel would be ok. If you want some comfort and may have visiting guest or meeting, I suggest you look on.

from the outside it looks like a 4star hotel. has breakfast inc, free wifi, gym and pool. the problem is with the service executuion. some of us stayed for a friends wedding and even though we had requested and been confirmed that everyone would be staying on one floor. we ended up being separated across several floors. During the few days we stayed, one room got flooded when it rained, my rooms air conditioning barely kept the room mild, the 8th floors corridor flooded and after that was fixed, the showers were just pumping out hot water. combined with the fact that it took over half an hour for any requests to be actioned from staff, it ended up being a very misfortunate stay indeed. I would give it another go in hopes that they will learn with time.

Much better than expected

The \"local\" tried very hard to match the \"american\" standards to carry the Aston franchise name and I must say they succeeded.
All those negative comments from others' reviews are just pity such as step up into the bathroom, no AC and roaches in the hallway, bad outside air smell, etc, etc. Aston Pluit deserved excellence ratings/reviews in this part of the world.
For one, the breakfast is plentiful and very enjoyable with both local specialties and international menus. The room is clean and very spacious with excellent housekeeping. The bed is comfortable as well along with pleasant hot shower.
The staff are very friendly and they tried to speak \"your\" language to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.
The hotel has a well kept infinity pool which I enjoyed very much.
People need to understand, in this part of the world, transportation is a MUST, pedestrian accommodation is almost non existence.

Don't stay in this hotel!

This is the worst hotel i have ever stayed. These are my reasons: First, false advertisement, this hotel has no gym, and it says in its advertisement that it has . The reason i booked this hotel because i need a gym to work out. Even the staff encourage me to complain about it, so you can imagine how bad it is. Second, the restaurant was so crowded for breakfast, it took the waiter 30 minutes to get me a butter for my bread. Third, the location sucks, everything was so expensive, even a bottle of mineral water, I spend us$3 for one bottle but i can get one with US$.50 elsewhere. DON'T STAY HERE, YOU CAN GET MANY MUCH BETTER HOTEL WITH THIS PRICE in JAKARTA!

This hotel was a good deal. The hotel is pretty new so everything is clean. Like other reviews, the hallways do not have A/C and waiting for the elevators can be annoying. This building is part hotel and part residences so it is very big. I didn't like the bathroom setup though. The shower and toilet was elevated so you had to climb a step to use them. The continental breakfast was good. Out of all the hotels I've stayed at, this breakfast had the most variety. If you're travelling, Pluit is out of the way of major sites, but it is near some malls like Emporium and Pluit Village.

First of all, it took forever for the receptionist to check me in! They are more interested in chatting among themselves than to attend to their customers. Once inside the room, the shower area stinks; the urine smell is very strong! The hot water for shower is almost non-existant. I requested a room change and the same thing happened. However, the area made up for the shortcomings in the cleanliness and service. The hotel is close to Emporium Pluit, Pluit Village and several eateries around Muara Karang area. It is also pretty close to the airport. Breakfast was not the best. The fried rice and fried noodles were stale; prob they keep reheating and serving them for several days. The bread and hash browns were still ok.

Long Haul Stopover

Fantastic value. Excellent from beginning to end of our 3 night stopover. Not too far from the airport or city this hotel is to be thoroughly recommended.
Staff are happy, helpful and efficient. The room was spotlessly clean and the service flawless.
An interesting bathroom with large picture window overlooking the comfortable bedroom .... but a useful blind was provided for privacy.
Huge delicious pool on 6th floor with a view over the surrounding area. Didn't try the gym, but have no doubt it would have lived up to the high standards shown elsewhere.
Lovely buffet breakfast included in the price and free WiFi throughout the hotel was an added bonus.

The hotel is ok but the corridors of all the floors were NOT airconditioned at all except for Lobby and the six floor where the coffee house is. The temperature at Jakarta is very hot . You have to request room makeup otherwise they do not clean the room.

Disappointing attitude from some staff

Main complaint is about the attitude of some of the Front desk staff, especially one lady who was nothing short of rude towards my girlfriend. We have been together a while but she is younger and of Indonesian decent, with me being white and older the Front Office lady made it very clear she did not approve and made my girlfriend feel very awkward whenever she asked a question. She does not know us and should not judge what she sees. We were very upset by this attitude towards your guests, and for her information we are in a long term very loving relationship and nothing else.
Second point was on the food service in the dining room, again service was different towards my girlfriend compared to me. We ordered dinner one night and my food arrived after a few minutes yet my girlfriends order did not arrive (despite words from me to the staff) until some 20 minutes later, only to be the wrong order and cold. We just found the attitude of some of the staff towards us as a couple to be very disappointing to say the least.
However the bar staff were very nice it must be said.
Very disappointing to see this attitude in this day and age and it spoilt our visit, needless to say we will not be staying there again.

Great bed, so-so location

Stayed in Aston only two nights but wish I had stayed longer. The room itself is pretty basic for a upscale hotel and the location is not great - too much traffic in the area and not near anything particularly notable. BUT - the room had one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Great pillows, fluffy comforter and a good, not too hard - not too soft mattress. When you are on the road for a long time like I have been, you really learn to enjoy a good bed.

Another negative from my wife - the pool is in an odd location in the middle of the building on the non-sunny side, so the pool has almost no sun.

Honestly, if we were to return to Jakarta, we would like to stay again at an Aston but probably in a different part of town.
