We had a fantastic stay at Artemis Village in Stavros. Our daughter absolutely loved the swimming pool and spent time there every day. The rooms were modern, spotless, and perfect for a small family – we felt very comfortable and secure throughout our stay.

A special mention goes to Panos, who was incredibly friendly and helpful, giving us excellent recommendations for car hire, restaurants, and local services. The location was also ideal – just a short walk to the nearest town with plenty of great places to eat.

All in all, this was the perfect family getaway. We couldn’t be happier and highly recommend Artemis Village to anyone visiting Stavros. Five stars!

Wonderful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Chania. The property is beautiful and relaxing, but what really made it the best stay during our 2 weeks in Athens, Santorini, and Crete were the staff. They could not have been friendlier or more helpful -absolutely fantastic people and my family loved our visit. Many thanks for making our 3-day stay perfect!

Artemis Village - Stunning....

Beautiful, Clean, Quiet and extremely helpful staff.
Just what we wanted as nice a relaxing by the pool which was one of the cleanest most sparkling pools we have visited. We are going back next year sometime as we loved this place so much. Thanks to Artemis and all the staff.

We have had a great stay at Artemis. In a beautiful setting about 10 minute walk from Stavros, these apartments are well maintained, modern bright and well equipped. The hosts are lovely, very friendly and helpful. Tasty poolside food which is competitively priced.

If you're looking for a quiet vacation say then this is the place! We never struggled with a bed around the pool. The apartment although small and compact had everything we needed. The food was fresh and very fairly priced however we did manage to do everything on the menu within the 10 days (we ate out a lot too). I would recommend car hire if you wanted to get out and explore as there are only a few local restaurants within walking distance. The staff were all consistently friendly and helpful. The setting is perfect with the mountains behind too. Our only issue was the noise from upstairs who dragged chairs along the balcony late at night and first thing in the morning waking us - but it was only over the master bedroom not the smaller childrens room. Overall a very pleasant stay away from busy holiday makers with lots of personal home made touches.

The perfect get away

Artemis Apartments give you the perfect break from the hustle and bustle of life. Irini and the team are so welcoming to this tranquil bolt hole. Our apartment was beautiful, clean and well equipped. Days can be spent enjoying the pool and poolside bar, playing ping pong or just relaxing on the private terraces. It’s a beautiful walk of 15 minutes or so to the village of Stavros where there are a small number of good tavernas to enjoy and two small shops. The fresh seafood and fish are particularly good. The beaches are beautiful and the sunsets are stunning. Myself and my children felt really relaxed and welcomed both at Artemis and also in the restaurants of Stavros. It’s a fantastic place to holiday when you want time out and a base to avoid the masses. We’d love to return in the future.

Artemis Village Apartments and Studios

Just a ten minute stroll from Stavros Beach, this is truly paradise. The accommodation interiors are beautifully finished, comfortable, light and airy. They vary in size and so would suit a mix of clientelle, eg families, couples, etc. There is a good size pool, a pool bar and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a good choice of restaurants within walking distance and many more in the surrounding villages. Chania is only 20 minutes by car.

Fantastic apartment with sea view. Contemporary decorated. Air conditioning, wifi and electric shutters ( not needed). Kitchen has all you would need for small and big meals.Great pool. Tennis court, table tennis table. Great view from balcony of Stavros Bay and the mountains to the right. Lovely grounds. Close to Stavros beach.Irini was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

I became 'friends' with the lovely Irini (the hotel manager) 5 months before we even arrived - corresponding through emails, she couldn't do enough to help make the arrangements for the holiday perfect. We hired a car, which I would consider is necessary to get around and easily found the hotel (approx 6 miles from airport) using the sat nav on our phone.
On arrival at the small complex, we were greeted by Irini (as lovely in person as via email) and was showed to our home for the week. We found a thoughtful welcome pack including wine and homemade cakes from the owner. Everything from start to finish was perfect - the staff were excellent - I can't actually praise them all enough. The apartment was spacious, cool and furnished to a high standard. All the basics were provided including pool towels with all bedding etc changed every few days. The pool area is just lovely with a good sized pool and the local beach at Stavros (a 10 min walk) was also perfect for small children, being in a bay with little tide and a gentle slope.
If anything let's it down it would have to be Stavros itself. There are a few tavernas that are ok (the best one was at the windmill) - but really nothing much else. But if you hire a car, the town of Chania is only a 15 minute car drive away with the beautiful harbour and a multitude of tavernas and restaurants and enough shopping to satisfy most tourists needs. I don't often write reviews - but this deserved it - and the 5 stars.

A perfect holiday if you want relaxation and quiet

Our room was well situated within 10 minute walk of the main centre of Stavros. It was well maintained and had a lovely view. We were on middle level and the top apartments had even better view, which we would ask for on our planned return next year. The pool area was ideal for both young and old, like us! It was clean and well maintained. There was a lot there for young families, like a play area etc

We enjoyed our stay v much. Definitely recommend

We spent 11 nights at this lovely quiet hotel, just before the school holidays started.
The hotel is tucked behind the mountain, separating it from the airport on a 20-30min taxi ride which cost us €26.
To check in, walk towards the restaurant located directly in view of the pool.
The pool has sloping depths from 90cm to 2m and a little paddling pool area separated from the main pool by a sort of rockery ornament, i guess so that parents can keep an eye on the kids.
There are a number of parasols and some poolside chairs are directly underneath a small tree of fusia bougainvilleas.
The staff here speak Greek, English, French and I think German (though we only conversed in the 2 former). Whenever we had questions they were genuinely eager to assist us, always polite, attentive and cordial, as is the Greek custom.
Artemis Village is in the process of refitting all their rooms; we were allocated one of the already renovated rooms, which had a nice modern mini kitchen, automatic shutters, and of course a tv and air conditioning. Walking around the hotel I noticed that every room has an aircon unit, which is a welcome relief with temperatures slowly climbing to mid 30s. The hotel's wifi even covers the pool area.
Our room itself was very clean, the cleaning lady came once per day.
There are plenty of vines and olive trees and the grounds are very well presented.Stavros itself is a very quiet corner of Crete.

Peaceful escape

We loved our holiday. It was so peaceful and relaxing . There was nothing between our balcony and the hills so apart from cicadas you would hear the occasional cockerel and goat and often we would be the only ones by the pool. We could see the sea from our balcony. The rooms were clean and towels - both room and poolside - were refreshed regularly.

I realise this was out of school holidays so that probably made a huge difference.

We took day trips to Elafonisi beach, the 3000 year old olive tree,Chania and Iraklio - the archaeological museum worth a visit.

On our drive back to Stavros we passed many packed noisy resorts and were so thankful we made the right choice of accommodation.

GREAT LITTLE FRIENDLY HOTEL 3 MINUTES FROM BEACH

Wonderful little family hotel with friendly helpful staff and a great swimming pool. Amazing breakfasts by the poolside with such a variety of local food and drinks. Only 2 minutes drive or 10 minutes walk from Zorba's beach which is safe, clean and has some wonderful tavernas. Would warmly recommend this hotel for adults and children alike.

Excellent Apartments in Beautiful Setting

Lovely one bed apartment, with a beautiful garden and pool area. Staff and owners were friendly and attentive. The resort of Stavros is very quiet, just a village with 2 very good beaches. Zorbas beach is nearest 10 minutes walk away and sheltered. The other is 15 minutes and more exposed, both sandy. Nightlife is quiet bars/restaurants about 8 in total in walking distance, enjoyed Zorbas, Almyriki and Sunset.

Beautiful and highly recommended!

This hotel was wonderful. We loved it so much, we wanted to change our plans and stay longer! The service is excellent, the room was like a little home-away-from-home with a full kitchen and everything, and the property was amazing. Everything was just great. It is a little out of the way, but for a quiet vacation, this hotel is IDEAL, and it's not too far a drive to the city center. They even have a beautiful swimming pool.

Hôtel très apaisant, parfaitement conforme aux photos. La maison est d’une grande propreté, le nécessaire est fourni et propre, le personnel extrêmement gentil, la piscine impeccable et le décor tout simplement digne d’un rêve. La climatisation, présente dans chaque pièce, est impeccable et rend le séjour encore plus agréable. L’endroit est idyllique, un peu en retrait, mais cela en vaut vraiment la peine. Une voiture est nécessaire pour profiter pleinement des environs.

Huone oli erittäin siisti. Kattavasti keittiövälineitä ja ne olivat uusia. Terassi oli iso ja ihanat auringonotto tuolit. Allasalue oli loistava. Palvelu erinomainen.

Have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Very comfortable and well equipped room with a beautiful view, excellent pool and pool area, delicious food, very reasonable priced, just to mention a few highlights and not at least very service minded and friendly staff. All areas kept clean and even with the current Covid-19 situation, we felt very safe.

In excess of a nice private balcony, there was good space for relaxing around the pool area and the pool bar + a garden. Around 10 minutes' walk to local beach and area with restaurants. Around the same distance to two local minimarkets. If you need to go to a bigger supermarket, a car is need and in general it can be recommended to rent a car unless the plan is just to enjoy the hotels facility and the local beach/restaurants.

Thanks to the staff and owner for 10 great days at Artemis Village.

Appartement superbe situé dans un havre de tranquillité loin des gros complexes hôtelier. Logement spacieux, lit king size, grande terrasse avec vue sur la mer. Le personnel est au top. Tout est parfaitement propre. Les jardins sont fleuries. je recommande fortement et je choisirais à nouveau cet endroit si je reviens à Chania.
