Great location, keys to all rooms could easily be stolen from front desk as you had to return key every time you left building, hake dryer over heated, kept shutting off. Friendly staff though.

I booked this hotel the night before due to my flight cancellation and I was thoroughly surprised with the quality of the hotel. The price is very affordable but the hotel was amazing, rooms were very spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly and assisted with any needs. Will definitely recommend.

Needs to improve their old facilities. Toilet flash was hardly working. Toilet hard set cover was disaligned.

No soap for couple days of our stay until we ask the staff. Sometimes, no instant cofffee provided.

The worst thing our aircon was not working on our last day We were unhappy to stay in this hotel.

The hotel is conveniently located 5 metro stops from Termini, the check in was easy and staff were friendly.

We left our bags with the hotel whilst we explored on our last day which they were happy to do

Staff were brilliant with information on local areas for food at 10pm.

Only downside was the room being smaller but for our trip we slept, woke up early and was out by 7am.

The room was small but nice, and included a tea kettle and tea. The Bathroom had a nice soap dispenser in the shower and at the sink. The window could be opened for fresh air and had adequate curtains for blackout. However, immediately upon entering the room I noticed a rather large hole high up on the wall next to the air conditioner. I managed to reach up there, which was not easy, and stuff toilet paper into the hole to at least cover it. It was clearly a rat hole, I’m not sure what else could have created that damage. The shower head and shower were both in pretty terrible condition. The shower head was very old and had almost zero water pressure. The water also went from ice cold to blazing hot about six times in ten minutes. Shower definitely needs some work. The toilet seat was loose and needed to be replaced. The housekeeping did come by each day. The room came with a refrigerator which was nice. Overall for the price it was fine, but the issues in the room could easily be resolved. Hotel is in a great location to the Vatican and Lepanto subway station. Also very close to many restaurants, shopping, and cafes.

Ideally located property with only a short walk over the river to get to the major tourist attractions. Plenty of restaurants nearby serving excellent food.

However, a few things met the property down. On arrival the receptionist was helpful although a bit of difficulty as he never spoke great English, despite speaking to me in English whenever I saw him any time afterward. The safe in my room would not work, I didn’t see the point in reporting this as at that point, I couldn’t communicate with the receptionist. There was also a large damp patch on the wall/ceiling of my room. I was on the first floor and was woken a few times by loud conversations at reception. I could also hear what was going on in the room above me each night!!

I can’t speak for all the beds, but each morning I woke with more bites on me, leaving me scratching for days. I would hope this was in my room only and not every bed in the hotel.

Still, the hotel served its purpose and didn’t stop the enjoyment of a great few days in Rome

It is so rundown. You pay 150 dollars to get the quality of 40 dollars. The mattress is stiff and the headboard and bed are run down. Dirty. The safe is not working. No breakfast. The Restaurent staff don’t speak English. The towels are so old and look dirty. The AC makes noises. The hot water runs out after 3 minutes. I had to take a shower with coke water. No phone in the room. It was discussing. I regret staying there and paying that much

I liked the inside look. I didn’t like the door handle falling off the bathroom door of 406. The room service was great came in day one and made bed and cleaned. I didn’t like no breakfast and no on-site parking.

We arrived earlier then the actual check in time, but they saw how tried we were and very kindly even without us asking for an early check in they did it anyways. That is great service.

Disgusting, rude & without power. We stayed here for 5 nights. Upon checking in our comforter was dirty & the bed had shoe marks as if someone has been stepping on it. The bathroom ceilings are covered in mold and the toilet hardware was rusting. On our second night there we returned from an excursion ant 10pm and found that lobby & hallway lights were working but our room was pitch black. The lights & air conditioning were not working. Our television & certain power outlets would work though. This would lead many to believe a fuse was blown.We went downstairs to alert the front desk and he said it would be back soon. We went back to our room to sit in darkness for an hour until making our way back downstairs for an update. 3 other guests were also waiting for an update as they were experiencing the same issue. The employee was obviously overwhelmed and was getting zero feedback from his manager or the “electric company”. We asked the other employee that was down there for an update after 30 mins and he scoffed at us&told me to call the electric company myself. We went back up to our rooms to attempted to sleep but couldn’t bc the employees were smoking&being loud outside our window. Our power did not come back on until 5:30am. I’ve tried to contact the hotel multiple times for a 1 night refund & they have called me a liar & refused to refund. They also claim this was an outage in the area(although other places near all had power).Save yourself the headache, don’t stay here.

Right next to the Lepanto Metro Station which can easily connect you to everything you want to see! I enjoyed my time, thank you for everything. :)

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. In that time we had a toilet seat that broke on us because it rusted and molded off. I better not get charged for that. This hotel had great staff but the actual room was a huge joke for the amount of money I was charged. Nowhere was that room worth up to $400 a night. I have included photos to show. The mattress aka the foam we slept on was a joke. It caused the cover to my glucose monitor to push hard into my skin and break the skin to cause irritation. This room physically hurt me. The air conditioning took forever to figure out and it looked like it had been put in as an after thought. I almost want to dispute that charge on my card because that hotel was so small and inadequate it does not deserve the amount I was charged. I would like a partial if not a full refund for this. I understand that I got stuck with what was available after the previous hotel canceled on me but I was ripped off. At best I should only be charged for half of what they charged. Like I said the staff was great. The one and only maid was an amazing and sweet lady. The asian desk clerk was sweet once you got to know him.

The bathroom was full of rust, mold, chipped porcelain & missing tiles in the shower floor. The shower curtain was added in a haphazard manner to accommodate for the partially missing shower door. Despite a noisy ceiling fan, the bathroom remained damp. Chipped paint, drapes hanging loose in the sleeping area however it was the bathroom was the worst of the worst. The gentleman working the front desk in the mornings was rude & dismissive. The gentleman working in the afternoon/evening was polite. Although I never had the housekeeping staff enter my room during my 3 day stay, they were the friendliest of all of the staff as I passed them in the hallways. Love the neighborhood however I cannot recommend this hotel.

10/15 minutes walk from the Vatican.
A few minutes walk from the hop-on hop-off bus.

Bread and reasonably priced hotel in Rome

I moved to this hotel after staying in another hotel that was not up to par and far from the city centre.
I really enjoyed my stay because just about everything was within walking distance.
It was clean the staff was very accommodating.
It also has a restaurant that affiliated with it so I could go downstairs have breakfast or glass of wine and they would allow me to to bring it to my room if I wanted.
It's definitely not the fanciest Hotel but the accommodations were nice, comfortable. clean and the price was right as it was much lower than other hotels charged in Rome.

It was cool location, just 30min walk from major attractions, 1 minute walk to metro station, very lovely restaurant right next to hotel, stay was nice!

Two issues I see in this place are that room was bit smelly (some sort of old smell) and we found few hair pieces around room that were not ours when we arrived. But in general it was nice and almost very clean.

Hotel San Valentino is very conveniently located to Lepanto Metro, but only provides the most basic in amenities, a clean room, mini fridge & wifi. I would highly recommend the hotel for a short stay of over night or a couple days. Management providing a hot water pot for each room would make a real difference for a more lengthy stay. There is a fabulous restaurant (Da Aldone e Giacomino) right outside the door, family owned and operated, I highly recommend. (There seemed to be some friction between the hotel staff and morning restaurant staff, which I discounted as personal and really hope doesn't transcend to ownership/management.) There is also a small morning bistro just a few steps away if you want a traditional Italian morning meal. The hotel is also a short 2 block walk to Via Cola di Rienzo, a street with upscale shopping and numerous eateries. Pewex City, a small grocery mart, is also located on this street making it convenient for snacks and supplies. The location is great and the morning/afternoon/evening staff were very patient and helpful with my 20 million questions.

Clean, friendly hotel with professional staff

I stayed at the Hotel San Valentino for about a week. The staff is professional, friendly, and very helpful. All of them seemed to be multilingual, which is impressive. My room was clean and spacious; housekeeping was always on top of things and friendly. The TV and air conditioning were stellar, and the room had a small refrigerator and safe.

Next door to the hotel is a nice little neighborhood cafe that I loved, and restaurants and pizzerias of various caliber and price are scattered around the vicinity. The entire area feels more like “normal” Rome than “tourist” Rome, which I found appealing.

The hotel is one small block away from the Lepanto Metro stop, which puts all of the major tourist sights within a quick 1.50Euro trip. Excellent location and fine hotel. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
