This room was much smaller than it looked on the website and so was the bathroom, it would have better suited single occupancy, it was not the boutique hotel it looked like online, much more like a 5 room Airbnb. The mattress was extremely hard and made sleeping difficult. There was a blood stain on the sheet, splatter marks on the wall and thick dust on the headboard and under the bed. The towels were not changed during our stay and the one small bin only emptied once so we ended up using a plastic bag as a bin. There was air conditioning but no batteries in the remote so we could not use it. The wifi was intermittent and worse so in the evenings we couldn’t use it at all. The location is convenient and the area is lovely so I would recommend staying in the area.

Service was great, our host was very responsive and helpful. The room was situated in a great part of Rome; a location a lot quieter than the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas but in walking distance of everything. The only downsides was the bed was pretty tough, the toilet was very noisy, air conditioning unit was broken and leaked through the night and no iron or ironing board in the complex. If those things could’ve been sorted it would’ve mad for a great stay rather than an average stay. Rome itself - wonderful.

Excellent!

Fantastic location, clean, friendly & air conditioned (which was needed in July). Cleaning lady was here every day 8-11. This room was very good value for money. Please check breakfast availability; I assumed breakfast was included because of the photos & it wasn’t (my fault for not checking). My bed was a bit hard/uneven! That’s my only complaint 💕

The room was nice, they provided breakfast, and the only bad thing about the room was a 2x2 ft. shower. Why I'm giving this a bad review was even though I payed already for the room, I was asked to pay up 300 euros (with tax) when I got there. On top of that they didn't answer their \"emergency\" contact numbers and on the day before I checked out the man told me how to exit the building which you would think I would know already. The lady was really sweet but the man, a total jerk to Americans.

Bad experience

Our experience might be a one-time thing, but during our stay, we found bedbugs on our beds and room walls. The staff apologized but was reluctant to take responsibility for the incident, blaming previous travelers and indicating that they fumigate often. I do not enjoy leaving bad reviews but this was something major, just be careful because something like this can ruin your trip.

Nice location but be aware of Bed Bugs!

This place is very well located at an affordable price, so we booked it and were happy until the bed bugs bite. The first morning we found a small dead bug on my bed but dismissed it as an accidental thing because we wanted to begin touring the city and during the day started having something that looked like an allergic reaction. On our second night, I awoke because I felt like something was walking on my body and I was itchy all over... When I turned the light on, bed bugs were on our beds, walls and simply everywhere... we started calling the reception around 2 am but no one answer so we waited until they showed up at 8 am. The lady that attends the place was concerned when we showed her alive bugs on our room and called the \"boss\" who wasn't very receptive of our complain... She said that she felt sad but that this was not the hotel's fault, that probably the people that rented before us had them with them and that they fumigate quite often... But to be quite honest, the place doesn't look really clean. At the end, when a bed bug crawled out of my sister's arm, is when the lady gave us money to wash our clothes and buy allergy medicine.... Which was the equivalent to a night's fee... It was a horrible experience... It ruined the rest of out stay there, having to do laundry and of our trip because of the nervousness... Believe me, I now revise all the beds and rooms I'm staying in...

All We Hoped

Very friendly and helpful people who give a great welcome. Surprisingly quiet for a fairly busy area and it's in a central place for most sites - very handy for the metro too. More a B&B than hotel but just right for what we needed. Excellent little cafe/bar just next door. Certainly recommended!!

Needs a good scrub

I chose this hotel as I have stayed here before in 2008 and had a lovely stay, but was a bit disappointed this time round. The room was tiny and had no cupboard so we lived out of our suitcase on the floor for 3 days and the tiniest bathroom could have been cleaner. Although both ladies very very helpful and friendly we didn't discuss departure and as we were leaving on Sunday at 6am and know the downstairs gate would be locked took our key but had nowhere to leave it once outside. Little outside postbox would have solved this. The location is excellent and short minute to Pizza de Popolo and even shorter to Lepanto metro station so access to all tourist site was ideal. We drove to Rome which I would never do again and the one parking space we found was more by luck. The parking system is painful so would not recommend a car in Rome even just for arriving and departing like we did. Still undecided if I would stay in this hotel again, maybe after a scrubdown I would reconsider.

Loved Residenza Vaticana! Clean and comfortable - great breakfast. Quiet neighborhood, walking distance to many shops and restaurants, close to the metro and bus stops. So nice to come back to after a long day visiting the sites. Highly recommend!

Our room was too small. We had a double room (double bed) that did not allow two grown adults to pass each other on either side of the bed. One person would have to move to allow the other to get by. The space at the foot of the bed was not much better; however, two people could actually pass on another.

Great Neighborhood. Close to Vatican.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The room was nicely furnished, and the staff was very nice. Breakfast was included, and the cappucino machine makes a great cappucino!. Wi-Fi is free, but my room was furthest so I sometimes had to sit in the lobby are to use it, but that is ok. I had the same experience with every hotel i visited throughout Europe. The day we arrived it was early and the room wasnt ready yet, but the staff was expecting us, and had let the doorman know. He should us up to the B&B and we were ok to leave our bags and go explore while the room was prepared. My wife and I walked to St. Peters and found it quite close. The neighborhood is really nice, with restaurants and stores, and I felt very safe. Every morning our rooms were cleaned and the staff always greeted us with a smile. I have to say that the lady who clens the rooms, im sorry I dont recall her name, works very, very hard. I applaud her and the stff for making our stay in Rome memorable. We are already planning a return in December 2013 with the whole family. On a side note, getting to the hotel from the airport was easy. Their are coach buses from the airport for about 6 to 10 euro each person which will deliver you to Termini station which is the main Subway / train station. From there you can hope the subway 5 or 6 stops to Lepanto station and walk a few blocks to the hotel.

More of a B&B than a hotel, however it is very handy to the Vatican and everything else in Rome. The staff were very helpful and courteous and breakfast is good, although no 'bacon & eggs' but they do have cereal!
Would thoroughly recommend.

Great memories

We arrived late by cab and standing in front was the hotel manager who called me by name. He had been waiting our late arrival outside. He took us through a unique series of gates and door locks and we went up several floors. Small elevator. We entered and I will never forget the interior decorating. Bright colored walls and carpet unlike any American Hotel. He spent time telling us of his city. In the morning the continential breakfast was served by an extremely friendly and competent server and the light meal was great. This hotel is located on a side street and we felt safe out late at night. Hotel staff do not spend the night at this location but are accessible by phone. They give you keys to a series of front doors. I loved it for the price and we would return.

Je ne recommande pas ce logement. La chambre est miniscule, mais surtout la salle de bains un enfer, vous ne pouvez pas bouger dans la douche, si vous etes grand bon courage, les wc n'en parlont pas, c'est simple assis aux wc vous ne pouvez pas fermer la porte tellement c'est petit (bonjour l'intimité).
Le pire est la literie, le matelas est en carton, nous avons très très mal dormi et mal de dos garantie. Le wifi ne marche pas, nous avons du utiliser nos datas tout le sejour. Il y a une mauvais odeur dans la chambre même si vous aerez. Aucun service, ce n'est pas un hotel mais un monsieur qui a fait 5 chambres dans un appartement et qui veut se faire un max de sous. À 85 euros la nuit c'est à fuir !!! Le seul point positif est la zone proche du centre et dans quartier calme.

Séjour de 3 nuits dans cet Hôtel. Fonctionne comme un air bnb. Plusieurs logements au même étage avec salle de bain privative et une \"petit espace commun\". Il n'y a absolument rien dans cet espace commun mis à part un minuscule frigo. Ceci étant dit nous étions seul à l'étage, c'était royal !!!

Nous avons utilisé le frigo pour place des bouteilles et les avoir fraîches le lendemain.

Chambre cosy, très propre ! Attention, il fait chaud malgré la clim. Il faudrait la laisser tourner la journée pour avoir une chambre fraîche le soir. Le personnel change les serviettes tous les jours, cets vraiment bien !

Le sèche cheveux ne fonctionnait malheureusement pas..

Attention, l'hôtel est assez excentré !! Proche du Vatican mais compter 30 minutes pour rejoindre le cœur de Rome et les monuments.

Dans le descriptif de la chambre, ils disent qu'elles sont équipées d'un coffre fort, d'un mini bar et d'une ventilation. Il n'y avait ni coffre fort, ni mini bar. Quand à la ventilation, il ne fallait pas la mettre trop fort par peine de dormir avec un bruit insupportable. Nous avions pris l'option petit déjeuner, mais à 8h il n'y avait toujours rien de mise en place et personne ni aucune information.

We had a great stay at the Rezidenzia Vaticana! I cannot see, why other guests would give it a bad recommendation. What is right is, that the room and the bathroom were small. But the size is perfectly normal for italian hotel room as far as I can tell. I already stayed in Italy several times and the room size was comparable everywhere. I think what is way more important, is that the room was very clean and neat. We slept well in the bed and we had everything we needed. The room was cleaned daily and we got fresh towels and toiletries every day. The host and the lady who cleaned the room were very very nice and helpful. When we asked for a second linen, we were given one immediately. We also liked the neighborhood very much. It is rather quiet but still you have everything you need: several supermarkets, bars and restaurants and you can go shopping at the Via di Cola Rienzo for clothes and supplies. The Rezidenzia is close to the metro and many sights. There are not too many tourists and the neighbors are all friendly and helpful. We recommend you to take a short walk to the Corta di Cassazione. It is an impressive building and you get to know the area a little. We enjoyed our stay very much and absolutely recommend you to stay at the Rezidenzia Vaticana!

Bien comunicado limpieza deficiente

Esta bien comunicado, puedes ir andando a la mayor parte de los puntos de interés turístico,también está cerca del metro y es una zona tranquila y segura. El establecimiento en si deja que desear, desayuno pobre y sobre todo la limpieza, tienen moqueta que parece que no se ha limpiado hace tiempo, dejando un olor raro a la habitación, por no hablar de las sospechosas manchas blancas de la colcha...
A su favor decir que la wifi iba muy bien.

L'hôtel Residence vaticana est dans le centre gde facilite pour rejoindre les musées
Déjeuner inadmissible la machine à café fonctionnait une fois sur deux nous avions des biscottes des biscuits pré emballés et des gâteaux pré emballés le surplus se trouvait en réserve des une armoire ou les papiers wk et les essuies étaient mis
Les draps de bains pas changes avt le troisième jour une bouteille d'eau pour 6 personnes

Leuk hotel, basic maar goede locatie

Leuk klein hotel met 4 kamers. De kamers zijn leuk en gezellig ingericht en schoon. Locatie in vaticaanstad en naast de metro is perfect. Ook in de wijk van het hotel zijn verschillende barretjes en restaurants. Het ontbijt is zeer basic denk aan jam, beschuit, philadelphia, koffie, thee, toast en helaas geen echte kaas. Opzich wel prima maar verwacht er niet teveel van.

Un petit hôtel de charme, à dix minutes de tout (métro, Vatican, Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza Navona...). Une hôtesse accueillante, pleine de bons conseils. Chambre insonorisée, calme, bien décorée. Petit bémol : la salle de bain un peu trop petite. Idéal pour les couples ! on reviendra :)
