We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Serenella. It is a delightful mix of traditional and eclectic with plenty of comfortable places to sit.
We found the beds to be firm but fine for us and we appreciated the balcony with seating and view of the street.
We didn't mind ordering breakfast the evening before and we liked being able to select a later time. My husband would have preferred the option if toast but we were happy enough with the choices on offer.
It's an easy walk into the centre of Sirmione and it is mostly flat. We would definitely stay at Hotel Serenella again if we were visiting the area.

Our stay at Hotel Serenella was so memorable! We were traveling with our baby for the first time and the staff were super accommodating, we felt like family during our stay. The location is excellent, you can walk to all the main attractions… but honestly the hotel itself has so much to offer, we enjoyed having a drink on their beautiful terrace and spending time at their lakefront. What a treat!! We will definitely be back.

Cute hotel in a beautiful location. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main historic town area, this hotel was nice to come back to and unwind after exploring all day. The access to the pier was a lovely addition and all staff were friendly and helpful.

Enjoyed staying at Hotel Serenella very much. Little bit difficult to get to as it is located in a pedestrian area of Sirmione, but worth the effort. The pool was great, and liked having both breakfast and drinks in the garden. Walked to restaurants and the ferry. Sara was amazing. She helped us with transportation to Verona during the rail strike which relieved our stress and allowed us to enjoy our time.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Serenella, it is in a lovely quiet location but a short walk away from restaurants, shops etc.The staff are amazing and so helpful, our rooms were lovely and clean as was the pool area. The breakfast was amazing! and set us up nicely for each day. I could go on and on!, I picked the best place to stay and would happily go there again we had a wonderful time. The hotel was really cute, inside the old city and within minutes walk to the thermal baths. The staff were extremely friendly and very happy to accommodate. Loved our stay. Would not recommend bringing a car, because driving in the resticted zone is pretty nerve racking.

A perfectly lovely and a quiet retreat! Driving to the designated parking area inside the old city walls was a bit of a challenge with a large number of pedestrians here for New Year's holiday, but once at the hotel we didn't want to leave anyway! Very walkable to restaurants, attractions, shops. Most comfortable and relaxed we have been during our 2 week trip across northern Italia. 😀

Great family run hotel. Excellent location a few mins walk into Sirmione. Really good breakfast in the beautiful courtyard. The sunbeds on the jetty with direct access to the lake really makes the hotel standout against other options. Would definitely stay again if back to Sirmione.

We wanted to come to Lake Garda for our honeymoon as it looks absolutely beautiful! We was not disappointed. The area is amazing and we are so glad we went.
The hotel was alright. First night we had a normal room which from pictures we thought would be lovely but it wasn’t up to scratch! The shower over flowed into the bedroom when used. The room we also had only had one charge point, very weird. The balcony’s with the normal rooms are not great they need a bit of TLC.
So being our honeymoon we made the decision to upgrade to one of suites, which was an extra €40 a night. But with that €40 it is worth it. The shower doesn’t leak into the room. We had not one but two plugs! The balcony’s were cleaner and had a small view of the lake which was nice. The staff when asked for anything during the day was so nice and helped us with anything we needed. In the evening the staff was not the best. We was treated a little like we was a big inconvenience and was made to feel bad if we needed anything. Trust me with this place they don’t like to give yah toilet paper so we had to ask a few times for them 😂
The bar is nice but only open 12-6. They don’t take cash and every gets charged to your room so make sure to keep track of that which I did and we wasn’t over charged anything which is good.

Location was fantastic but hotel was very dated especially our room. It was clean though. The parking is off site and tricky to find and it has to be said, the owner (male) was not helpful when I said that my boyfriend was having trouble locating it. In fact, he snapped “it’s behind the church” in a rude manner. He also snapped that check out is not until 8am and we should have read that in our rooms (we needed to leave at 7:30am for a tour). The bill was already paid so it wasn’t an issue. He just made us feel unwelcome to be honest. The anircon in the room worked but the decor felt like a time warp from 1991 and they didn’t provide bottled water nor was the bar open late to get water which is a bit of a shock on our first night there during a heatwave. Other than that, the rest of the staff were nice in the hotel and location is great for walking into the town for dinner. It was safe also.

No air conditioning not even fans in the hotel communal areas makes anywhere outside of our hotel room unusable in 35 degree heat. Beds are rock hard like sleeping on concrete. Basic room is tiny with a view onto a wall. Staff not willing to even let us check in until 1pm after arriving on an early flight. Had to change our hotel after one night. Horrible attitude and unfriendly staff. Felt unwelcomed. Would not recommend. Extremely basic small hotel. Shame because location is great. Would not go to the lake from their jetty felt unclean. Total waste of money and a stressful start to our holiday. Stayed at Hotel Continental next doors completely different league of hotel was outstanding.

Excellent 1 week stay at hotel serenella. Old fashioned style (in a good way - lovely old couches and antique furniture), lovely staff. Small pool area but also has lovely pier onto the lake with sunbeds and shady area. Quiet but only a few mins walk to the busy parts of sirmione. No issue ordering breakfast ahead of time as its easy to change what you want or change the time the day before - or choose once and leave it for the whole stay - not the hassle some people say it is. Breakfast was lovely and the poolside bar served food and drinks up to 6.30. Would definitely stay again.

- We didn’t have the breakfast, but it looked amazing and good value for the amount and quality of food you got.

You can get this direct from Desenzano and other local towns - it’s very affordable per person, and much better than taking the bus from the main part of Sirmione. It’s a long walk from the main town of Sirmione (we did this from the hotel down to the local supermarket and it was almost an hour).
- Very affordable bar and tourist tax compared to other parts of Italy.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Serenella. The location was excellent for us - it is such a close walk to everything in the Old Town of Sirmione but it was in a really quiet area. The private pier is lovely, as is the bar/swimming pool area. The food was tasty and the staff were kind.

The cheaper rooms were not that impressive. But the balcony rooms looked much better. Odd old framed paintings and vintage furnishings made it feel like a vintage shop . No iron , kettle or fridges available. New towels every day and shower stuff. Inthink there are better places in the area for the money.

A great little secret in the old city. Up at the top of the peninsula away from the hustle and bustle but only a few minutes walk down to the sites, restaurants and fun. Not all taxis will take you through the narrow crowded fort streets up to this hotel ... so be prepared to get dropped at the fort entrance and walk a km or so. But a great walk. The property is in the old town and not easy driving around with the car. There were restrictions getting into the old town on the weekend which the hotel did not advise us ahead. We had water problem one day and was not able to shower. Not one word from the staff to offer their apologies for the inconvenience. The girl (Sara) at the reception was not very friendly. In view of the low price of this hotel, it’s actually good value for money. My room was definitely not the most impressive by any means, and even though the AC was loud and rickety; that said, the room was spacious, perfectly clean and functional.

Ein Abenteuer, zum Hotel durch die Altstadt zu gelangen, aber auch irgendwie witzig und etwas besonderes. Wir werden in jedem Fall dieses Hotel wieder buchen, wenn wir zum Garda See fahren.

Fantastisk område! Koselig familie som driver hotellet, god mat! Man spesialbestiller frokosten sin dagen i forveien slik at maten du ønsker blir servert rett til bordet! Godt utvalg med alt fra quiche til egg og bacon. Hotellet har også en tilhørende privat brygge med solsenger og bademuligheter, rett i nærheten! Gamlebyen i Sirmione var nydelig, men intens med mye turister, men alle menneskene var veldig hyggelige! Hotellet ligger lenger ut på halvøyen, innafor gamlebyens sentrum, og det var et stille og deilig område. Vi kommer tilbake! Eneste minuset var at senga og spesielt hodeputene var harde, men det overveier på ingen måte alt det andre fine ved hotellet!

Lite familie drevet hotel på innsiden av borgen. Nydelig frokost som blir servert ved bordet av hyggelig personale. Et lite basseng ved hotellet og en fin strandbit med sol senger og servering nede ved sjøen. Rommene er i koselig gamel stil slik resten av hotellet. Vi är så nöjda med vårt besök på hotell serenella. Vi tillbringade 3 nätter där och vi ville inte åka där ifrån, så himla mysigt hotell! Personalen är supertrevlig och visar dig runt på hotellet när du kommer, frukosten får du serverad till dig och pool finns samt en supertrevlig pir ut till vattnet. Varje dag städades hotellrummen och det var fräscht, AC finns på rummet så att det är svalt trotts värme. Hotellet var ett familjeägt hotell och det märkes verkligen, supermysigt och välkomnande. Jag kan varmt rekommendera detta hotell och kommer garanterat besöka igen om jag åker till Sirmione! 5/5 stjärnor från både mig och min partner!

Herlig mindre familiedrevet hotell med søt og hjelpsom personale. Noe gammelt men helt og rent. Nydelig beliggenhet akkurat utenfor de veldig travle sentrumsgatene men allikevel veldig sentralt. Best av alt er at hotellet har en egen privat pir med solsenger og parasoller til fri benyttelse for sol og bad - med servering! God og morsom frokost med mange valgmuligheter..
