Underground parking beneath the hotel was super convenient and they allowed us to leave the car past checkout so we didn’t have to hurry to get back from a last tour of the old city! The location is perfect just a short walk from everything! The breakfast was really good as well, the rooms clean and nice and very helpful staff! Top marks for a great place and great value!

This is a two star hotel nothing more. Did I know that when booking it? Yes I did. I chose it for the location only. We had a lot of problems with checking in and parking. If you have a car it will take you awhile to figure out how to get in the property to check in. I ultimately snuck in behind someone who had their card key. Otherwise we would have been waiting all afternoon. You can only get in with a card key. The room itself is like staying in a dorm room. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed of my entire trip. Would I stay here again? Yes and only because it was so convenient.

Gets the job done.

Hotel is in a great location, steps from restaurants and city center attractions. Hotel is basic, not any sort of great bargain. My only complaint would be the hallway noise. Just the shutting of doors down the hall seem to echo off the walls, and with people coming and going all night it was a bit too loud for my liking.

All staff were friendly and tried to be helpful but not overly informative. It has great potential if management would warm it up a bit! Lounge? Not really.Wifi - iffy.

I’ve stayed with Ibis in a few countries - some better, some worse. This one was clean and fairly quiet with a great location but with zero atmosphere. If all you want is a bed and shower, this might work fine you. If you want something alive in this beautiful location, you might want to look elsewhere. I did.

Good basic accommodation in an excellent location

This is a good choice, especially for those who travelled by car, given the availability of a secure underground car park (for extra cost). The room itself was clean and comfortable, but basic as you would expect for a budget chain hotel. Location is within comfortable walking distance from all key sites in the old town. Overall a pleasant stay.

Great Bamberg hotel. Close to everything.

This hotels is so close to the town square. maybe 5 minutes walking. Bamberg is a beautiful city. Last time I stayed at Residenzschloss which was higher end but definitely not as close to the town square as IBIS. Definitely a decent hotel. Staff did not speak english well but definitely understood us and was able to give directions and recommendations. Had a wonderful time. Ate dinner right next to the hotel which was delicious and the breakfast at the hotel was grand. Would recommend to my friends. Bathrooms were very small which is typical in Europe but room was spacious. The most important feature was the room was air conditioned which is not always the case in European hotels. We were there the first week of August and we definitely needed the AC. They Joke is that they don't have air conditioning in European hotels because it is only needed two weeks out of the year, the week we were there it was definitely needed. Loved it would stay there again.

Happy town

I stayed here one night traveling around Germany. The hotel was very nice and clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. I parked my car in the garage and the spot was very large by European standards. The area was great, a short walk to the historic section. I really loved this town at night. Everyone stood drinking and socializing in the streets at night. I passed the cutest dance party that could be heard and send through an open window. This was just a happy little town with good shopping and a beautiful center. There was also a grocery nearby. Would recommend.

This hotel is in a good location. Rooms are nothing special, just your standard Australian motel type room rather than hotel. Quite small and bathroom is tiny. With that said, Bamberg is so amazing that you don't spend much time in your room and the time is fine for this type of visit. Lovely and helpful staff.

Poor wifi unless you are willing to pay for it

The place is near the bus stop that the hotel will not tell you. There are buses that will get you to the attractions.
The room is spacious but relatively cold at night in winter especially the toilet as it used timer for the heater. The housekeeper removed any empty bottles anywhere which I think they shouldn't unless the bottles are in the rubbish bin. The free wifi is really bad, I think they try to make you subscribe to the paid one. The kettle they tried to lend me is so dirty that I returned it immediately. The staff is generally helpful.

Overall, we had a positive experience at the hotel. The location was very convenient. We were able to walk to most of the local attractions. The hotel was clean and the staff were very kind. We were contacted prior to check in regarding our daughter's age (she is four). The hotel added a single bed in the room for our daughter. We really appreciated that! When booking, the description said we were getting a king bed. Upon arrival, it looked more like a queen but it was still nice. The bathroom was extremely small. Despite that, we would use the hotel again if we ever return to Bamberg.

Well, it's an ibis This means small rooms and bathrooms but clean and air conditioned, which is somewhat rare at value-priced hotels in Germany and Austria. The staff was only moderately friendly and there is a significant additional charge for breakfast, which is quite surprising in a country where hotels typically offer continental breakfasts as standard. Secure parking in the below-ground garage is also available but at a premium price. Also, the hotel is not near the main attractions of Bamberg. Be prepared to walk. Overall, this hotel is not a bad choice but be prepared for a cramped room and additional charges.

GREAT OVERNIGHTER IN BAMBERG

We booked this trip on a Saturday morning for a one-night stay that night and, after a fine experience, were a bit surprised by some of the less-than-positive reviews the hotel had previously received. The room, although not overly large and which could have benefited from a picture or two in it, was very clean and comfortable for the amount of time we spent in it across the weekend. The breakfast had a large variety of fresh foods and was a good value for the money and the hotel's location was perfect for walking to all the Old Town Bamberg sites. Even the hotel's parking garage directly underneath was very clean, well-lit, and convenient.
We will definitely consider staying here again the next time we are in Bamberg... hopefully for more than one night!

Great budget-minded hotel, but mediocre WiFi

Hotel situated in a pleasant and quiet neighborhood, a moderate walk away from the historical center of the city and near the rivers running through it. Cleanly and up-to-date room, comfortable beds, but the free WiFi signal was very weak and unusable in the room. I had to access it from the lobby, which was a bit inconvenient. However, parking was complimentary, which is a big plus in Europe.

Comfortable, Economic Stay in Lovely Bamberg

The hotel is outdated by a few decades, but the room was comfortable. Initially, our shower did not drain properly. The staff was quite helpful when we let them know, and were overall excellent with the exception of the person who checked us in. The hotel is very close to the older part of town, in close to proximity to restaurants and sights. We would recommend the hotel for a budget-minded traveler.

Comfortable hotel in the middle of town

Comfortable hotel in the city centre next to the Theatre, a few minutes walk from the Old Town. Typical Ibis hotel with all the usual Ibis amenities, small room but spotless, comfy and perfectly suitable for a couple of nights in Bamberg.

Great location. Room was small 'IKEA' in size.

Great staff. Good parking and forget the expense...Bamberg is a cycle city so cars are penalised. Accept that and accept that IBIS charges a reasonable daily rate for very very convenient car access. If you can't afford it stay 10 kms out of town and pat yourself on the back for the saving! Look the room is tiny but somehow we fit, even with a months worth of Europe travel luggage. If you want to see the best of German Franconian culture, Bamberg is a must and the Ibis is as good as any place to see it from.
Avoid the in room wifi though...it didn't work and we cancelled very early after constant drop outs.

A Very Good Munich Airport Hotel

The hotel's location is perfect for a morning flight from Munich. The hotel van takes about 8 minutes to drop you at the terminal. The rooms are neat, clean, spacious enough and include a buffet breakfast that is satisfying. The price was very reasonable and the staff quite helpful. Highly recommended!

Underground parking adjacent to hotel at no charge. Room was adequate, a fair value for the price. Good location, only 10 minute walk to the center of town with numerous bars, restaurants and attractions. Walking in town is over cobblestone streets and much easier to walk than try to drive in town. Bamberg is a beautiful town, nice river running through town. Local breweries offer superb beer. Hotel was very clean and neat, they offer breakfast at an additional charge of 10 Euro per person, we ate at a bakery no more than 5 minutes walk away. While we did not use this service, the hotel has 24 hour snacks and drinks available on site. I would stay here again.

Die Daten von Expedia wurden unvollständig übertragen. Daher musste beim Check in alles nochmal händisch eingetragen werden.
Lt. Übermittelter Daten ohne Frühstück, jedoch mit gebucht. Ließ sich aber anhand Expedia nachweisen und war dann kein Problem. Super nettes und hilfsbereites Personal. Sehr zentral gelegen. Tiefgarage vorhanden, durften am Abreisetag noch bis 17.00 drin stehen bleiben. Relativ laut zur Theaterseite, wenn man mit frischer Luft schlafen möchte.

Das Zimmer war extrem klein, genau wie das Bad. Die Einrichtung ist minimalisiert und bei mehrtägigen Aufenthalten kaum ausreichend. Das Zimmer war sauber, aber die Möblierung in die Jahre gekommen und daher auch schwer zu pflegen. Frühstück ist lediglich Mindeststandard. Das Geschirr muss selbst abgeräumt und abgegeben werden. Im Vergleich überteuert. Die Lage ist allerdings gut.

Sehr zentral mit gutem ÖPNV

Schönes kleines Hotel mit gutem Frühstück. Pech mit unserem Zimmer: Bad mit Fenster (sehr gut), aber leider winzig und mit ca. 6cm hohem \"Lüftungsspalt?\" am Boden der Bad-/Toilettentür. Für Einzelreisende stellt das sicherlich kein Problem dar, aber in einem Doppelzimmer ist das schon eine Zumutung. Lästig war auch die große Gemeinschaftszudecke für 2 Personen. Sehr hellhörig. Alles andere war aber voll in Ordnung und deshalb empfehlenswert.

Perfelte Lage in Bamberg

Zwischenübernachtung in einer wundervollen Stadt, wobei die perfekte zentrale Lage, Freundlichkeit der Rezeption und neben dem Hotel gelegene Tiefgarage für 20 Euro ideal waren.

Klar ist die Einrichtung eher funktional als luxuriös, aber für den Preis absolut in Ordnung.

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The bathrooms are small and a bit outdated. The rooms are fine and clean. The location is great, very close to city centre.
