Very unique building. Area is nice and really in a great spot. AC didn’t seem to work but it is cool outside so not an issue. There was a red stain on one of the duvet covers. Tried calling reception about it but no answer. Didn’t bother me much. Breakfast was really nice but a little pricey.

This stay was great, we were only here for one night for an event in Stuttgart before travelling back to Essen but it was perfect for what we needed. We arrived early and checked in early, sat in the lovely bar downstairs before heading into the city. Easy transport links from the city out to the hotel made this stay even better. If ever planning a trip to Stuttgart again, we would definitely consider staying here in Ludwigsburg and travelling in and out.

Parking not free as was advertised plus no a/c

Was charged 14 euro for parking. Hotel page on hotels.com said free parking for gold members, which is why I booked the hotel. Also air conditioning did not work. It just blew warm air it did not have any cooling function even though I turned the control to its coldest setting. The fridge was like an oven inside, it also did not work. Could be a perfect hotel but was ruined by these three failures.

The property was fine, as usual. However, we were let down by Expedia, who offerred the best price. On booking we booked breakfast and the price increased accordingly. On check-in at the Nestor, our breakfast was NOT booked and moreover, the room was well below the Nestor's usual high standards. We will NEVER again use Expedia.

We went there for pumpkin festival and a say in Stuttgart. We arrived several hours early but they allowed us in our room right away. We parked at the hotel and took the train into Stuttgart. Easy walking to public transportation. This is our go to hotel when we want a weekend getaway to Stuttgart

This was my second stay at the Ludwigsburg Nestor. I stay here when I come to Germany to visit family.
The Nestor always delivers high quality at affordable prices. Comfortable rooms. Attentive staff. Incredible food.
If you’re planning to see the palace and gardens this is the best location. You can easily walk there via the path behind the hotel. It’s a beautiful walk with many photo opportunities.

This hotel is in a historic building but is thoroughly modern in comfort and amenities. I have stayed here many times and love the hotel. It's just a short walk to the city center for shopping and dining, and to the Baroque palace and gardens a few blocks away. The buffet breakfast is a real treat.

Great Fall Getaway

We were on a weekend trip to celebrate my wife's birthday. They hotel did several things to make it special. Staff was friendly. The room was very comfortable, hotel food was very good, and location is within walking distance of the pumpkin festival and also easy drive to walk through vineyards. We would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is in an historic building which also hosts conferences. So, the rooms are business standard rooms which is what I expected.

The highlight was the restaurant! Delicious elevated foods served impeccably. We each had three courses and enjoyed each.

Service and check-in were also very good. It is in the middle of the town within easy walking distance of the palace (gorgeous grounds) and university.

I enjoy the building's history and architecture, an artful blend of old and modern. The service and food are outstanding. It's location is also a plus, close to the city center, the Residence Schloss palace and garden, and a lovely treelined walkway. I've stayed there for one week each of the past five years, and highly recommended it.

Great hotel in a great location near King Ludwig's castle. My only (and very minor) complaint is the room charge during the week - a bit high for Ludwigsburg, and the HOTELS.COM 10% discount didn't work for this hotel. gg

I love the Nestor Hotel in Ludwigsburg. I've stayed there four years in a row for a conference and am always happy with the service and accommodations. The buffet breakfast is amazing. While the building is historic, the interior is modern and well-maintained. It is conveniently located near the city center shops and restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel.

An excellent place to stay in nearly every respect: modern and well maintained, polite and service oriented staff, decent location not too far from the palace and square. Fine dining in the atrium-like restaurant. Our only complaint is the mattress. At the standard price-point you will get a split bed-two smaller adjacent mattresses. It is not uncommon in these parts but we hate them as it divides a couple sharing a bed. Maybe a minor complaint but should be made aware.

Love this hotel in Ludwigsburg

This was my second stay at the Nestor Hotel in Ludwigsburg. Each stay was for a week. It is within an easy walk to the charming city center, shopping, dining, parks and attractions. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable. The service is exceptional. I recommend you spend the extra money on the breakfast buffet. It is an all-you-can eat extravaganza and a highlight of my stay each time.

Modern comforts and great location

The Nestor is a comfortable, modern hotel within a restored historic building. Its location is in the heart of Ludwigsburg's charming old city center, with lots of dining and shopping options. There is a tree-lined pedestrian path right out the door, and a large park nearby. Only a few blocks away is Ludwigsburg's beautiful Residential Palace and its surrounding gardens.

Nice hotel, but service could be better

The front desk staff handled my online booking problem quite well. We asked for a room away from the elevator and were \"punished\" with the last room as far away as you can get. I guess you get waht you ask for. At the fairly high price to stay at the hotel the internet should be included in the price, and not charged extra per day. This looks cheap, and greedy. Maybe a nominal 1-time fee for the entire stay would be appropriate. The internet speed in the lobby is quite slow, more is expected from a classy hotel like this one. We called the front desk and asked for an extra pillow, none ever arrived. We used one of the glasses in the room downstairs and forgot it, on day 1......the glass was never replaced in the room. When we asked the front desk for another glass we were told in no uncertain terms that glasses were in the fridge! When passing by the front desk it is rare to get a hello from the staff. The TV is tiny. Little things, but they add up to leave a bad taste in your mouth.

We traveled to Ludwigsburg for a family weeding. We didn't regret have chosen Hotel Nestor for our stage in Ludwigsburg. Hotel Nestor has a very convenience location, the staff is very friendly and helpful. It is the best hotel in Ludwigsburg if you are get use to high end hotels. Price was very reasonable.

Wonderful hotel close to Ludwigsburg castle

We enjoyed a 2-week stay at Nestor Hotel and were quite pleased with everything, especially the air-conditioning during the August heat! Highly recommend this modern hotel with excellent dining and nice staff to help in all your needs. Location is superb, just across the street and a short walk from the city center shopping and only 2 blocks to the Ludwigsburg castle. Definitely will recommend to all friends and family and hope to stay there again in the near future.

An incredible modern and comfortable hotel in an old and stylish factory building in the very heart of Ludwigsburg.

Positive:
1. Very comfortable, stylish rooms with quiet, central A/C (but one can still open windows).
2. Car park just outside the building (access through a special gate, 12 EUR/night)
3. A good bar and restaurant, with a cosy outdoor seating area facing the building's backyard
4. WiFi available (for a fee)
5. We've got a real deal, paying a very reasonable $100/room at a superb hotel

Negative:
1. WiFi is only free for 30 minutes (per room, not per device), and then one has to pay 12 EUR for EACH connected device, which is ridiculous...

Perfect Hotel - Great Stay

Excellent location within walking distance of the town centre. The facilities in the hotel, including parking, were perfect. We booked a business class room and were very impressed with the size of the room and its extras (coffee machine etc.). We couldn't fault the staff or the quality of the food. Very enjoyable stay.

When I booked, I was told the room fee included breakfast. When I checked out I was told I would have to pay for breakfast. Also I was charged for a call to India which I did not make. I wasn't even in the hotel when the call was made. The desk clerk insisted that their system confirmed the call. I did not make the call!

Rooms were very nice, hotel was immaculate and in very good order. Staff was very friendly. The hotel is minutes away from the Schloss, and close to the market [shops, cafes and such]. Definitely the best hotel to stay in in Ludwigsburg!

This hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the Ludwigsburg train station. There is also a city bus that stops right next to the hotel. It seems to cater mainly to business travelers. Very good breakfast with a large variety of items. The room has a bath tub and shower. It also has a fitness center and sauna and steam room.

Hotel is clean, comfortable, convenient , 10 min walk to Train Station, downtown, restaurants, Castle. English speaking desk clerks were very helpful. Took messages and arranged taxi to airport. Breakfast buffet was sumptuous. Lunch and Dinner menu was slightly higher priced than nearby restaurants but food and service were excellent, pleasant atmosphere.
From Ludwigsburg train station, about 15 minutes by train or about 20 minutes by S-Bahn to Main Train Station in Stuttgart.

Es war ein hervorragender Aufenthalt in Ludwigsburg. Es passte alles: freundliches Personal beim Check-in und -out, geräumiges und sauberes Zimmer, gute Matratze, ruhig, tolle Lage und angenehmer Parkplatz. Über das Frühstück kann ich nichts sagen, ich hatte keines. Nächstes Mal in Ludwigsburg wird das Hotel wieder meine Wahl sein.
