The only 2 things are that the shower pressure was low and water lukewarm. And when we were eating breakfast between 9:30 and 10am, they had someone vacuuming the eating area. They could have waited until the breakfast time was over at 10am to vacuum.

Our room was really clean and spacious. The staff at the front desk were really friendly upon check in and check out. There was a local hockey tournaments in the area and the hotel was quite full and noisy. The staff that checked us in kindly switched us to a floor different from the hockey families.

The hotel is well maintained, and we opted to pay a bit extra for a suite, which was more spacious and included a sofa, making it a great place to relax. The complimentary breakfast was fairly standard, with a decent selection to start the day.

One feature we especially appreciated was the pool reservation system. Guests are required to sign up for a specific time slot at the front desk, which may seem like an extra step, but it really makes a difference. It keeps the pool from getting overcrowded and allows for a more enjoyable experience.

An intoxicated woman came to my door over and over again banging on my door and screaming. When I opened the door she assaulted me and tried to force herself into the room. My son was terrified. When I called the front desk they told me not to worry about it. She will eventually stop. There is nothing they could do in the middle of the night and I should go to sleep. Minutes after that conversation, at one am, the intoxicated woman started to bang on my again. She was screaming that she wanted to know if I'm ok. She was upset that I was upset. It was amazing that the hotel told me to get some sleep and the lady woke me up to tell me that I she didn't want me to be upset at her for waking me up. I didn't get sleep. It went on for 3 days. The manager refused to speak to me and they asked me if I enjoyed my stay. The security guard was a very sweet 80 year old man. Bless him, he tried so hard to help. She was double his size. I felt so bad for him, at that age to deal with drunk women in the middle of the night. He should be retired. I guess it's my fault. I should have picked a hotel that wasn't hosting a cheer leading convention. It didn't occur to me to check. In the future I will check for special events happening and will bring ear plugs I guess.

My stay at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Waterloo – St. Jacobs was unfortunately below expectations. I stayed for three nights, and the room had a very strong bleach smell that made me cough, making it hard to relax. The cleanliness felt superficial rather than thorough. Breakfast was also underwhelming, and the snow removal in the parking lot was delayed, making it difficult to get my car out. Overall, it wasn’t the experience I'd hoped for.

The room was spacious, clean. We only grabbed juice and coffee but the breakfast looked good. The only problem we had was check-in. When we entered the hotel there was no one at the front desk, we stood there waiting for a little while looking for a bell or way to call but there was nothing. We ended up waiting in the chairs in the lobby that were comfy. About 10 minutes later someone came and checked us in. I had pre-paid for the room so only had to give a credit card for incidentals. They had me put in my card and authorize the $200 charge which I was fine with. The person working stated that it didn't go through on their end. I pulled up my visa on my banking app and showed her that it did in fact go through. She has me do it again and the put another $200 hold on my visa. She then told me that the first one would be reversed, which it took almost a week to do.

Upon arrival check in went smoothly, although our room was not stocked with any towels. We later discovered that the suites pull out
Sofa had no linens either. However, the biggest disappointment was the pool which my grandkids were so looking forward to. The chemicals they had shocked the pool with due to a hockey team were so strong we couldn’t swim longer than 15 minutes. 5 of the 6 in the pool were gagging and vomiting. The front desk staff were made aware but a response wasn’t received and I had to check again the next day to see if the problem was rectified. Fortunately, the pool water had been corrected and we were able to swim, although the water temperature was still very cool. We enjoyed the breakfast and the room was comfortable with a small kitchenette.

What you see is what you get. Nothing fancy or extra about it. Shower had mold, washroom smelt like urine. Fridge was not cold. You can hear everything in the rooms - those next door, those in the hallways, noises from outside. Need to book a timeslot for the pool, which we were not told about so we were offered a time slot for the next morning at 6am or 8:15am. Breakfast was not great - rubbery eggs, cold and undercooked potatoes, sausage but no bacon. Definitely won't be back.

Unfortunately my husband got very sick, however I did not and we realized the only difference was that he ate from the breakfast buffet, so perhaps check the sanitation of the food prep and buffet line.

We had no towels in the room, no towels at the pool, too much chlorine and the pool was very cold in the morning. We went 2 years ago and did enjoy our time so we were excited to come back but it seemed to lack a bit in comparison to our last stay. Breakfast had less options this time too but still tasted good. Staff was friendly and the room was clean and the beds were comfy.

This hotel is currently under major renovation, we needed to access it through adjoining hotel. Upon initial check-in, the first room they gave us was a room connected to another room which we didn't ask for and didn't want due to the possibility of noise transfer and security concerns. Plus this first room was located just outside of elevators on second floor which would be a noise issue and there was no view because of the overhanging part of the building over the window. It was a lousy room to give a customer, a poor choice by staff. So we asked for a better room, which they gave us kind of reluctantly on the sixth floor, it had a nice view. Unfortunately, that night we could hear someone snoring all night long in the adjacent room which was very disturbing to us and interfered with our sleep. When we told front desk staff about this the next morning and asked for a quiet room, the staff person said to us \"well, if you're that sensitive\" which was a very inappropriate and insensitive comment. We don't pay them over $200 per night to hear someone snoring in the next room. Obviously there's no soundproofing in this older hotel, this is a deal-breaker for me. After some reluctance on the part of this staff person, they finally gave us a quiet room, our third room in less than 24 hours. I would not book this hotel again for these reasons.
