Lovely little hotel in good location. Staff were very helpful. Rooms were clean and tidy.

Only issue was breakfast. There didn’t seem to be enough staff to cope with the number of guests with tables left full of dishes and nowhere to sit. Food , crockery and glasses were also not available. Otherwise ok.

We were here (like many) for the fete du citron. The location is fantastic, near station, promenade, old town etc. Staff were really nice. The little \"extras\" (citronnade, candy bar!) are nice gestures that speak a lot for a good attitude here.

Room is perfectly good. A bit of noise from outside but I think that (thin-ish walls) is fairly common in this part of the world, Nice was the same.

Rooftop view is wonderful, and as we found it is a great place if you need to work for a bit, as well as for a drink.

Our Superior room was basic. Lots of items in our room were broken (we did not tell staff) Enjoyed our 4 days. Liked having a fridge & kettle!! Would of been nice to have a patio. Would stay again, as it's a well run establishment with wonderful staff. Good location

Hotel Mediterranee is located on a smaller side street 7 minutes walk from the main Avenue and 5 from the beach, stone and shingle. On arrival we were shown to our room, overlooking the road on the upper floor, which was spacious and suitable for a family or extended family as it had a bed settee and connecting door to the adjacent bedroom - this was not very well sound insulated and noise form the TV did cause disturbance during the morning and evening when it was on. A telephone call to reception did result in a quick responce. The shower room was large with double sink and separate WC, very clean and modern.
Breakfast was continental but with a very good selection of cereals, bread, meat and cheese with unlimited tea and coffee setting you up for the day trips out. The roof bar, open until 11.00pm, was very comfortable with settees for TV or drinks away from the breeze or a large open terrace with great views to the mountains behind Menton - sea views are restricted due to other buildings.. Overall I would definitely recommend the Mediterranee for its location and accommodation. Great for a weekend away and visiting Nice, Monte Carlo or the short trip to Italy and Sanremo from the train station a 10minute walk away.

Rooms, amenities and decor is average. Room was clean, beds comfy. Desk staff were multilingual (english, french, italian) - they were helpful and accommodating. Nice area close to restaurants (short walk). Terrace on the roof with a good sunset view and friendly bar staff. No sea views, but a 3 minute walk to the beach. Lifts. Parking on site.

Great location. We were unsure of the location at time of booking, and a large part in assisting our choice for this hotel were the reviews. The hotel is all you would expect and more. Less than a 5 minute walk to the beach, and very central to everything in Menton. The front desk reception staff are also excellent.

One night in Menton

We stayed for one night on our way to st Tropez. It was very convenient and we found the staff to be very helpful and the room comfortable. We were upgraded to a superior room which was nice but we felt this was due to the fact that there was no WiFi. There was a problem throughout the hotel. A bit frustrating but otherwise fine JS

The hotel staff was very, very nice and service was great. I was disappointed in the size of my room. I paid for an upgrade to have a view and discovered there's not much of a view to be had, plus with the extra money paid, i was surprised that the room was smaller than the cheaper one. Granted, i wasn't looking out over the AC unit anymore, which was nice, but i was disappointed. Be aware that Superior rooms are on the ground floor and 1st floor, the Privilege rooms are on higher floors. They were also doing construction the whole time we were there and that was annoying and took away from ambiance.

Good value for money. The room/bathroom was a little rough around the edges but it was clean and housekeeping came everyday. The bed was big and comfortable. The air con was a welcome plus. There was also a nice roof terrace and bar. The location was excellent.

Has everything you need! Great location just a few steps away from the town centre and close walk to the old town. Roof top terrace with beautiful views over the city. Lovely and clean. You are meant to leave your keys at the reception when you leave the hôte but I would advise to just bring them with you, the reception can be busy and on several occasions we were left waiting up to 15 minutes to get the keys for our room

We enjoyed our stay at the Quality Hotel Menton. Upon arrival we were upgraded to Privilige Rooms. When viewing both rooms, one seemed to be slightly better than the other, but we were happy to be upgraded. I'm not sure what the rooms would have been like without the upgrade. At the end of the day it's a 3 star hotel and for the price we paid we were happy. The bathroom was a bit dated and perhaps small details lacking. i.e. The room has clearly been decorated but there was a clear mark on the ceiling where the outline of the old wardrobe was. However unless you're really picky this wouldn't affect your stay! Location was really good, short walk to beach and old town with restaurants. Terrace with a bar is real bonus and really positive asset to the hotel. Staff were all very friendly and reception colleagues were polite and spoke good English. We didn't have breakfast or any meals at the hotel so cannot comment on these. If you can get the hotel at a reasonable price, then go for it!

Revelling on the Riviera

From the first moment I arrived in the early evening and was offered an iced tea by the two lovely receptionist staff to the morning I left 2 days later I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Menton. Admitedly the view from my balconied window was not of the mountains at the back of the Hotel but it was certainly peaceful and the view from the roof more than made up for that. Tea making facilities are always welcome after a long day of walking and the fridge meant that I could store my own drinks and food to keep them fresh. The Hotel is ideally located near to the shops and attractions along the shoreline and the railway station and Italian border are just a mile or so walking distance away. I will certainly be returning to this area next year and would not hesitate in highly recommending this Hotel.

Our room was a Twin Superior on the ground floor at the back of the building. It was very clean and comfortable with a courtesy tray and kettle, including tea bags and a couple of portions of long life milk. The room was warm although the weather was exceptionally cold for the South of France. There was no noise from outside the room and a little terrace with table and chairs, accessible through patio doors. This would have been great in warmer weather. The bathroom was clean and modern with a shower above the bath, no problem at all with hot water. We were very lucky to be offered a breakfast deal at 5 euros a day, as breakfast was not included in our room rate. This was an excellent choice since there was a wide choice of food, everything delicious. The bread, croissants and pastries were freshly baked.The location is good, within a short walk of the seafront, shops, restaurants and everything of interest. The staff are friendly and courteous. I would recommend this hotel - I am surprised it isn't rated higher by other reviewers.

Clean modern hotel within easy walking distance of the old town. Lovely sun terrace on 7th floor which was great for relaxing and views over the town. Bar open in the evening. Breakfast was ok but serving salad items seemed a little strange. Only hot item available was hard boiled eggs. Coffee from a machine. Spacious bathroom which was very modern with a walk in shower/wet room idea. Lack of socket points was a problem for charging devices.

This hotel is ideally located by the coast, 800 yards from the train station and minutes from most bus routes. Breakfast very reasonanly priced and great choice although no hot food alternative
did not have evening meal so cannot comment or judge but the menu looked to show a good choice with fixed €23 charge.
free coffee in the room free safe too which i have not seen too often on my travels.
Staff all friendly and eager to please. rooms cleaned to a good standard, fresh towelling and bedding each day. if it were for a hot food breakfast choice i would go 5 stars.

This hotel is in a very good location, but the room had a very badly stained carpet which was quite a bad look. Apart from that, the room was quite comfortable with a good bed and airconditioning. Some of the reception staff rarely seemed happy, and sometimes looked a little annoyed when we returned to the hotel and had to collect our key. Disappointing overall.

this is the second time we have stayed here whilst attending the Monaco Yacht Show. We have already booked for next year also. The train station is 5 minutes walk and then Monaco is only a 12 minute train journey, very convenient.

All of the staff speak English and try to assist you in every which way they can. very professional and friendly.

Pleasant stay; most of the staff were very nice especially when we arrived and the staff at breakfast time. Only slight issue was the night before we left; asked to settle bill because we were leaving very early in the morning but we were told to come back a few hours later when the bill would be ready, this didn't suit us because we needed to sleep ( for early rise in the morning) All we needed to pay was local tax and one item from mini bar (don't go there! very expensive but in all fairness prices are clearly shown). Eventually we were given bill; it's on the computer and printed and was already made up! really no need for any delay.
Air conditioning was handy because some nights it became very warm, after switching on by remote (easy to use) it cooled the room down in minutes. We liked having tea/coffee tray & 2 chairs were handy (often one one in a room). The room was a good size, bath/shower room spacious, lots of towels, bath robe and slippers supplied. The 'double' bed was two singles zipped together therefore ridge down the middle.

Positives- great location. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Not so great - sewage smell from sink in bathroom, water temp in shower changes suddenly, very poor internet connection. Can live with these though as it is not advertised as a five star hotel. The only real negative is that one day our room door was left open by the cleaner. We found this when we returned early evening. Thankfully nothing was taken.

Bliss to come in from a sizzling day to the cool reception for a warm welcome. Our Superior room had a balcony to the back of the hotel, and spacious bathroom with lots of natural light. Best of all the receptionist handed us the fob for the aircon, set at 20 degrees, and unlike many places we have been the room was already cool when we entered. Would definitely recommend this and stay again. We didn't take breakfast as it looked expensive.

MENTON IS A VERY NICE TOWN TO STAY IN HIGHLY RECOMMENDED WITH TWO BEACHES PEBBLES & SAND, YOU WILL FIND PLENTY OF PLACES TO EAT & REASONABLE TOO. not as good as it used to be

we have stayed at this hotel over a period of about 20 years.it has become more 'corporate' and less personal. some of the staff needed more training and the bar was a disappointment-staff didn't know how to pour a drink and we were overcharged. we only visited the bar once therefore and used to go regularly,a shame. The parking was very expensive and again we were given the wrong price. Some of the staff at the desk were a bit abrupt...think it's time we move on !

Central Menton hotel close to the beach.

The hotel is in a good central position- near the bus and train station and near shops, restaurants and the beach.
The hotel is functional and clean.
The staff is friendly though I found the receptionist ladies much more willing to help with all my enquiries than not the two gentlemen who were there during my staying. I thought they both were rather lazy.
Breakfast is uninteresting and on some mornings some of the foodstuff that was supposed to be there wasn't. I complained at the manager who was very polite and rectified the problems by the morning after but offered no refund.
I only had one evening meal at the hotel because the food was less than average, was presented badly and very expensive for what it was. I had much better meals in Menton and in the towns around. I was off my meal anyway as soon as I sat down because I saw a waiteress chewing a pen in the dining room in full view...!! So I thought that if that was allowed in the restaurant I didn't want to even think what they were doing in the kitchen...!!

One night in Menton

We were travelling along the Spanish and French Riviera on a budget typically staying in 2 star hotels. This night however we decided to go for a 3 star as we needed a strong internet connection to book some upcoming stuff. The internet connection shuts you out and makes you reconnect every 45 minutes so this was a pain. Overall the location was decent. We were in a 6th floor room facing the ocean, but still could not see the ocean. The patio however was very large. Their was also a roof top terrance which we went to look at which looked very cute, however by the time we remembered and went up there the bar was already shut down. Hotel is ~4 min walk to beach and around the same to old town menton. One thing I didn't know (which I probably should have researched before going) is that the beach is full gravel. Their is another beach just down from the old town which is called up as sand...but this is not the case. It feels more like concrete dusted with sand and gravel. Overall hotel was in a good location and clean.

Nothing that would stop you staying,it is a great place to visit however the major frustration was the wifi connection. We had to go out to the hall to sign in and would loose the connection. The hotel itself was clean and tidy, staff were reserved bar one gorgeous happy person in the morning. Parking was 18 euro and thought that was exorbitant but no other option... And driving in menton is traumatic enough.

accessibility for disabled

i booked this hotel as it claimed to be disabled accessible. There was parking, however, even as a wheelchair guest you needed to be reminded that disabled parking was only with reservation and it should be said that even in the case you have a parking it is in an underground garage with a narrow winding staircase taking you to the hotel lobby. The staff had no information about the wherabouts of the nearest handicap parking on the street and did not seem to care one way or the other. There was no assistance with luggage in spite of the fact I had to push my friends wheelchair while leaving my car double parked! The room was accessible and the bathroom shower as well. However the curtains were falling down and the place had a strange air refreshener smell. It was doable for 2 nights but i would not go there again.

Go there. You won't be disappointed

It is difficult to fault this hotel. My party of 8 had everything they required. It is very conveniently situated for beach and old town. The staff are cheerful and welcoming. Good value.

Basic - would not return

Hotel is in a good location, within walking distance to the beach in Menton.

Rooms very disappointing - very small, decor dated. Bath with hairs which had clearly not been cleaned properly, however there was a good AC unit in the room.

We stayed for 2 nights and had breakfast in the second. What a shambles! The breakfast room was a mess. There was no one to greet us and show us a table. When we found a table, it was a scramble to find cutlery. I used the serviette as a plate to butter my croissant. Fruit salad comprised of warm tinned pears, and yoghurt was just awful.

Reception staff friendly and accommodating.

Highly recommended, cannot fault

Great location, 7 minutes walking distance from the train and the bus station. Very close to the beach and the center of the town.

Rooms are great, clean and minimal design. The bedsheets have natural feel to them than the usual polyester feel that you normally get from hotel bedding.

The staff is friendly and speak English.
The breakfast is minimal as is the case with most French hotels, but better that way than wasting food. The yogurt they have is lovely, enjoyed having that with prunes every morning.

The bar on the top floor is good though there was no one to serve when we went up one evening. I am sure we could have called the service, but were happy just to look at the views from there.

There is a good wine bar just next to the hotel.

Overall, highly recommended, cannot fault.

Best Hotel Ever

Wonderful hotel! Great location (not far from the beach and the promenade)! Beautiful view! Comfortable clean rooms at a very reasonable price. Excellent customer service - in fact, the best I have ever encountered in France. The manager Francois Madueno takes care of his guests as a mother-hen takes care of its chicks. When I got sick he found the doctor for me at the time when no doctors in town were available. When I was late for a doctor's appointment and the taxi we ordered did not show up on time, he gave me a ride to the doctor's office in his own car. He personally inquired about my health every day and came to my room to make sure that I had everything I needed. Unbelievable! The desk clerks were also helpful in all regards. Stay there - you will not regret it!

Excellent location 5mins to train, beach

This hotel was perfect. Very clean, room was comfortable with balcony. Bathroom very clean with great shower. Location excellent 5 mins walk to train station and 5 mins to beach. Hotel itself on quiet street with no noise, breakfast included was ok, large amount of food prob worth it. I would happily stay here again very good hotel.

Ideal for a couple

My wife and I have been going to this hotel for the last 6 years and have always been well looked after. Staff are friendly and very helpful. It may be an older hotel but rooms are clean, have air conditioning and a reasonable size. A roof terrace allows for free sunbathing which saves going to the beach. Well located in the heart of the town with easy access to shops and restaurants. Free WiFi is available although reception in some rooms can be patchy but fine in the lobby or sun terrace.

Our hotel was within walking distance to train station and the city center. It was convenient to restaurants and the sights in town. Loved the city and the hotel staff was very service oriented. They let us check in early as there was a room available and when someone asked about a menu item on the buffet, they went out of their way to find an English speaking person to explain the dish in our native tongue. The hotel staff was sure to please.

short stay for 40th wedding anniversary

on the wholes this hotel met most of our requirements. Our room was to the rear, so was quiet and didnt get too hot, though one night we had to use the air contioning and this unit was basic and did not have many settings. Also the hair dryer had a low setting and took ages to do its job, and the electric cable had never been cleaned as it had it's own layer of fluffy hair.
Breakfast was as expected, though there seemed a total lack of teaspoons, but a good selection of tea bags. Also any spare croissants where left in reception and these became a regular stopping point after a long day out.
there,s an excellent roof top patio with bar and sun loungers, ideal for a relaxing drink at the end of an hecktic day, however watch out, they offer a happy hour price list, which one bar staff would'nt honor even after we protested the issue, which is poor staff training or just poor staff as the same person had asked us to pay twice for one lot of drinks the day before.
if you want an hotel a short walk from the shops and sea front then this one fit the bill.
