Beautiful colonial building and interior. Former bishops palace from 1846. A little bit rough at the edges but overall very nice. A bit short bed. Very very small bathroom. Good Mexican breakfast though no choice.

The hotel is a unique colonial style and modern bathrooms. The staff stood out for their very kind attention. We did not get the young lady who checked us in name but she was great in addition we can mention Marco in the dining area, María in housekeeping and Amarquez at the front desk. 10/10 absolutely gorgeous boutique hotel
Beautiful place. Built in the 1800’s for religious Obispos, then a school for women, then a family had it for many years and turned it into a gorgeous boutique hotel. They’ve tried to keep as much of its original history as possible.

The hotel is good in general terms. However, the staff does not take care of the guests. Even though we told them we were planning to arrive at midnight, we waited outside some minutes, the surrounded streets are not safe so you expect to have a 24/7 staff in this kind of situation.

Interesting but would not recommend
I didn’t expect for the room to be small, the bed was hard and uncomfortable, this was the first room we stayed in. The second room was bit larger, the bed was still uncomfortable and the ac unit was pointed right at the bed and couldn’t get the right temp. The toilet seat was right next to the sink and weird to use. This room was too far away to get internet. The window was cracked and there was a possible mold stain on the ceiling. I think this place is used more for events, a quinceañera was taking pictures, the roof top had a couple dinning and there was a wedding also.

Every room ls unique and breathtaking, easy to walk to important places and most importantly were the employees who were kind and helpful, they made us feel welcomed. My wife and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone, specially if they like taking pictures. The Secret Garden room was our favorite!

Hotel had issues with water. Everytime I needed to use bathroom I had to call front desk. Never hot any hot water. After couple of days I cancelled and moved out. They would not honor a refund. Horrible.

No way was this s 4 star facility! No hot water! 1st room was dark one narrow windw and very dim lamps. Wife wanted more light so asked for different room. New room had charm but TV did not work & no hot water! The Casa has much charm. I wanted to like it inspite of it’s very compact baños… I should say very cramped baños.

The hotel was classic, historic and well maintained. We enjoyed a bottle of wine on the rooftop terrace with nice views of the area. Our room was comfortable and the location of the hotel near the GDLuz festival was ideal. Staff was friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was also nice. Parking was not included but a lot they use is only a block away. Recommend.

This is the kind of hotel I look for--something old with beautiful architecture, high ceilings, tile floors. The breakfast was great. Service was fine. Furniture a little down at the heels but who cares. Just a lovely place!

What i like about the hotel is the historical decoration and what i didnt like firstable in the restroom dont have any privacy no door at all, and when youre taking a shower the water spreads around in the room so literally gets floated. This is a small boutique hotel in a historic building with lots of old-world charm of the surrounding area. Clean, comfy, and pleasant. The neighborhood is 'iffy' but I felt comfortable walking during the day. The interior is used by many photographers for Quinceañera portraits and for weddings.

The hotel is truly magestic. I felt like I was living the way the extremely rich did a few hundred years ago. This building what’s been so well maintained, and is loaded with huge amounts of buitiful paintings and furniture. There is definitely more free space than space in the hotel than they dedicated to hotel rooms (which gives you a secluded feel, as you rarely see other guests).
The only downside would be the hot water. It takes a very long time (maybe 15 minutes) for it to heat up, if it ever heats up at all. The pillows were not great, but acceptable. The bed the same. The air conditioner worked well. The morning breakfast was simple, but good. As a hotel, standing on its own with out above mentioned beauty, it’s a typical 3 star hotel. Charming old world hotel, close to Zona Centro. Great rooftop vista of city. Unfortunately no restaurant however a short cab ride to Ave Chapultepec. Rooms were clean with high vault ceilings and safe for valuables. A/C worked great and great photo opportunities inside the hotel. Definitely worth a stay.

One of my favorite places to stay when visiting family and the city! Walking distance to almost everything and a quick ride away from the airport. Dorian and Alejandro were the best and had an amazing hospitality experience. Dorian knew we were checking in early and had both of our rooms ready to go amd accomodated with late night coffee and tea as we finished our night! Would highly reccommend if you want non-commercial stay type hotel with all ammenities!

The hotel is beautiful. The staff is friendly and accommodating. A short walk from the city plaza. People had mentioned that it was in a bad area. We walked to and from there many times during the day and typically took Ubers to and from at night as we were traveling further away. It's not a residential area and seems more empty at night than anything. Highly recommend the hotel.

We stayed at in the all white colored suite. We enjoyed the space and were fond of the plants and the style of the home. The only thing we encountered during our stay where small roaches but we figure they came from the restroom at night time. Breakfast was amazing. Home style chilaquiles with beans and french bread and coffee and orange juice.

I really want to give this hotel five starts, but that would force me to ignore two things. One, the TV did not work, which I didn't care about anyway, and two, getting hot water was an act of extreme patience. It did ultimately get warm. Having said that, Casa Pedro Loza is beautiful, well maintained, and incredibly charming. The staff was great, as was the location if you plan on sightseeing. I plan on staying here again in the future!!

A stay in a colonial mansion.
The area is in the centro historico, the hotel is about 4 blocks from the main church, 2 blocks from another church, 3 blocks from the square that the double decker tour buses start and also where the horse drawn calandrias stop to pick up guests for a ride. The hotel is an original colonial mansion with two story columns and arches. The rooms are individually decorated. My room was tastefully furnished with a smallish bathroom but with waterfall shower and nicely decorated. The balcony with shutters had the additional benefit of a sliding glass door for soundproofing from the street noise. The room was smallish but with possibly 20 ft ceilings felt more spacious and avoided any closed in feeling. The breakfast was gratis with eggs,coffee,juice,biscuits,bacon and chilaquiles with green or ted sauce. You can be issued a boarding pass from the check in desk under an antique staircase. There is an elevator probably from the 1920s. Meals are served in the enclosed courtyard at the center of the hotel.

Casa Pedro Loza is located in the central historic part of Guadalajara. Most of the historic landmarks can be reached by foot in 10 to 15 minutes. The hotel is gorgeous and its restaurant Café Bons serves great food. The staff was very attentive though most of them speak limited English. The manger who speaks good English was very helpful to us. Our room was facing the street and was noisy at times. There are plenty of outlets for charging your devices. Our bathroom was slightly tight but had all the amenities you’d expect. The hot water did take around 10 minutes to get warm. Overall it’s a good place to stay if you want to be in the historic center of the town.

I’ve stayed one night at casa Pedro Loza and the place is really good, clean, very friendly staff, good food and the hotel USB’s very elegant in its design or ambientación , you can feel like you are actually in the old times, very nice. Also very good location if you want to know Guadalajara’s historic downtown. My only complaint is that the mattress in our room was a little hard, but other than that I will say Excellent hotel.

Perfect Boutique Hideaway in Heart of Colonial GDL
This is the former home of a beloved freedom-loving priest Pedro Loza, so it has good karma to start with. If you love history, you'll appreciate staying here. Each room is uniquely decorated. I stayed upstairs instead of in a downstairs suite because I tend to always feel cold, even in warm weather. I chose a corner room facing east and west and did not have to worry about getting cold, even though the hotel kindly offered a space heater. I thank them for that.
It is challenging to restore an old colonial property in dilapidated GDL Centro and the owners have done their best. I love that they kept oritginal tile floors in most spaces, the chandeliers, and 19thcentury paintings and furnishings. Think vintage chic, shabby chic. Every room has a different theme which makes each one unique and very well decorated. There is a restaurant there so if you really don't feel like getting out you don't have to, but if you want to explore then The Centro Histórico , historical downtown, is just a few blocks away with many awesome sights to see and many good restaurants and shops. Definitely a must visit if your in Guadalajara.

Amazing hotel.
Everything is great. Only draw back is there is no food or drink available at the hotel after 10pm. But you could walk one block to the closest corner store. This hotel, the staff, the decor, the ambience are amazing. Words and pictures don't do justice. You just have to experience it.

This is a delightful boutique hotel that strives to recreate the Spanish colonial period in every way. Full of antiques. Restaurant is delicious. We had breakfast and dinner in the romantic hotel restaurant each day we were there.

This is a historical hotel in close proximity he of many historical sites. A carriage ride around the city can take you to view many of the famous cathedrals. The hotel, staff and coordinators did an amazing job. We had a romantic rooftop dinner by candlelight with a trio as music. The most romantic setting. Food was amazing.

Romantic Unpretentious Grandeur, World Class Staff
Several months ago we spent a night here and fell in love with the place, from its romantic rooms (except the Pieza de la Virgen, see below) gorgeous architecture and attentive but not pushy staff. so we rebooked when it came time for a romantic vacation. Unfortunately our first night they had scheduled repairs to be done, including resealing the floor with stinky polyurethane right outside our door at midnight. The vapors were so strong we couldn't breathe, but the staff switched us to a different room immediately and then refunded our night's stay. True, they should've closed the hotel for the night --or at least done the stinky parts during the day-- but they were so gracious when it came to fixing our problem that they've earned two guests for life.
