Overall an OK-ish stay.

Check-In

After completing the online check-in request including passport details we were surprised it took 25 minutes to be checked in, after being sat down in the lobby and promised a welcome drink that never arrived.

The Room

Pretty nice room, complimentary water and coffee pods. Excellent.
However when they didn't get replenished we were told they were a 'welcome gift' and I would have to pay for more from room service. I admit, I've never encountered this before from a 5 star hotel that costed over €300 a night!!

Housekeeping

Very unfriendly housekeeping staff that were angry that I needed the room making up so I could get back in there for an online business meeting. Additionally my partner's clothes on the bed were swept up and gone with the bedding change.

Business Centre/places to work.

I saw a nice business centre room I was told I couldn't use by reception. Alternative was the lobby which was comfortable, well until the loud piped music started.

What a lovely location. Las Palmas is delightful and the hotel is definitely in the best spot. The staff were all great, especially the cleaner who was adorable. We didn’t eat there as we prefer to sample local restaurants so unable to comment on that.

I spent 11 days at Hotel Christina in Tigotan. My understanding was that I had booked a sea view room; however, the view was of a port across a busy and noisy dual carriageway. The noise was excessive, and the view was poor, so I did not spend any time on the balcony.

My husband and I asked on three separate occasions if we could move to a room on the other side of the hotel. Each time, we were told we would have to pay an extra €25 per night. Since we were already well into our stay, it did not make financial sense to pay this additional fee on top of the £2025 we had already paid for what we believed was a proper sea view.

The room type we requested remained unoccupied for the entire duration of our stay. This inflexibility demonstrates a missed opportunity to ensure good customer satisfaction.

That said, I must emphasize that all the staff were very pleasant and professional, and I otherwise had a great time at the hotel.

Las Palmas is a tiny city about 30 minutes from the airport, but all the flight crews stay at this hotel, which says something. Check in - effortless, glass of Cava while wait. Beautiful room with only the board walk between us and the sea. We arrived by bus and it was a ten minute walk to the hotel and back. That said, luxury costs, so if you are on a backpackers budget you won't be staying here, however if you are on a spoil-yourself holiday, then you can afford it.

The hotel absolutely doesn’t deserve five stars ! The reception is part of the restaurant. The room is not up to par: absent of bathrobe, bath product, towels are in a terrible state. The household very badly done, the sheets were not changed for three days. The catering is very limited. We regret having chosen this hotel.

The hotel was lovely and clean, pool area lovely, nice view by the sea. The weather was cloudy but still got a nice tan.
Great view from the room balcony. Room was lovely, could do with tea/coffee making facilities.
Small fridge in the room.
Beach bar staff/towel guy were amazing, couldn't do enough for you. Bar meals were delicious and very good value.
Stayed many times before and always enjoyed breakfast. This time it had good variety but maybe English breakfast wasn't as good as before. Missed the tortilla.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and we will be back.

Staff at check in were friendly and helpful. Reception areas are clean and modern and also the breakfast room.
There is a sun terrace and pool on the next level. It’s well maintained and with great views.
Unfortunately the bedrooms are a real come down. They are very tired and cheaply furnished . However, they are clean with reasonable bathrooms and we had a good sea view.
I felt it was a little overpriced and much more a good 3 star…possibly 4 star but certainly not 5 star.
However, clean, well positioned, friendly and with an excellent breakfast.

I had a great stay, the property is situated close to the beach with restaurants bars and shops also close by. Staff are friendly and helpful Toni in the bar especially and the reception staff helped us with a late check out that was much appreciated. Rooms are clean and tidy and were cleaned daily. Although the bed was very firm. And the pool bar shuts quite early which is a shame as it’s a nice space to have a drink in the evening. Ask for a sea view if you can you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended.

This hotel had the most amazing view of the ocean. The balcony had a glass wind protector so you could both see the ocean and sun bathe comfortably. Rooms were kept immaculately clean by hotel staff. An incredible breakfast buffet that was outstanding in selection and quality was provided everyday from 6-11 am. The restaurant was superb and the Bar on the \"Hall\" floor was also excellent with friendly bar tenders.

The only good thing about the hotel is the location. Apart from that, it's old, outdated and overpriced. Breakfast quality is very poor. Elevators are slow. Room is cleaned at minimal level.

Friendly staff , reception was using a bit long time for check inn but otherwise okay.
Clean and well function area and the balcony room hade a beautiful view over The Las Canteras beach. The breakfast hall was more like you had breakfast at jobb. And the coffee was not the best this weekend. The pool was to cold , like most Spanish hotels pools it just around 19 -20 Celcius. But otherwise the poolbar and the bar in Hall was alright and friendly staff. With a better breakfast buffe the memory would have been good.

There is a limited number of sunbeds by the pool. People start reserving them early and quite often not use them until the afternoon when the sun reaches the area. Extremely unfair.

Hotel is not \"on the beach\"

First of all in the web page it said the hotel is \"on the beach\", which is not true. There is a beach but it is not possible to reach it unless you go out through the hotel lobby, reception , go out to a street with traffic, walk to the corner, cross a boulevard (for pedestrians only), and voila, there is a beach. Obviously it is not pleasant. We had booked this hotel because we wanted to go to the beach, so it was a great disappointment. . I am writing this because it may help others who want a hotel on the beach.

Amazing Hotel, facilities and location!

Staff were extremely friendly and knew english well, the breakfast buffet we had every morning was delicious. Facilities included very fast wifi, good sized pool and a small but decent gym area so overall was extremely happy to stay here.

The only disappointment (which was out of the hotel's control) was the building works on the hotel itself and the building next to it, which did mean during the day it was very loud and disturbing.

However the hotel was under renovation and some noise during day repair work and some dirty on balcony due to repair was temporarily none- convenient. Room service is a good with acceptable prices.

The hotel location is amazing, directly overlooking the beach and at the center of all attractions. We loved everything at the hotel, except that there wasn’t much choice in breakfast and it was almost the same or very similar every day.

Very good quiet hotel close to beach &restaurants.

Great place to stay right in the centre of Las Palmas and close to to beach, restaurants and especially the bus station which gets you to all parts of the island quite reasonably so no need to hire cars!
The hotel staff were really great and the breakfast good although it was a bit of a scramble most morning with self service: good food quality.
Great to be there for Carnaval which is wicked!
Would go back again.

Hotel staff very helpful, had a problem with wifi and staff couldn't be more helpful. Used personal computer and printer as needed to print off return boarding pass. Room cleaned and fresh towels left everyday, as were shampoos etc. Would definitely stay again.

Feel this hotel should be rated at 4 star instead of 5. The location is very good, however the facility and service are not up to 5 star expectations. While the room floor is clean, there are dirty marks on the walls - on one wall there are two black hand marks. Stayed in a city view room, and the street traffic is very noisy. Would suggest avoid city view room if want to have a quiet room. The hotel lifts always seem to come randomly after pressing the bottom.

The title says it all. We stayed in a room which had obviously been recently renovated and despite getting a city view we also had a lovely view over the harbour area. Only a couple of very minor points. The lifts seemed to always have one out of service and whilst the breakfast was good the staffing levels could have been better and the heat lamps over the hot food were insufficient to keep the food more than lukewarm. That said we found the staff friendly and very ready to help. I would certainly consider returning here again.

A Pleasant hotel, but worth 5 stars?

The hotel is clean, large, with friendly staff, and in a nice location. For this class of hotel [5 stars], however, I would have expected concierge, restaurants [a choice], and rather more frills.

Buffet breakfast was fine. But this then becomes the single evening restaurant with basic buffet-style food. No bother, we ate out every night at a variety of decent local restaurants.

After hauling in one's own suitcases, you can typically expect quite a long wait while a maximum of two reception staff deal with you. Then lug them up yourself to your room - which is pleasant enough. The three lifts work in very strange ways, and you soon learn that you can seldom go 'up' from the pool level - it being far quicker to go down to reception and back up again.

Location is great. Close to the beach and if you do not like sand under your feet the hotel pool area is large and comfortable. Rooms are light with nice drapes to darken it and sleep in late. For breakfast hotel is providing a large sample of various items.

Down side is that hotel is located directly at a busy street and not soundproofed - you will be hearing the traffic, and you will sometimes overhear guests in room next door. Beds are also slightly harder than needed.

Very modern hotel close to the beach.

On arrival at the hotel the staff were very friendly and efficient at checking us in for the 2 nights that we were staying at the hotel.
We were provided with all of the informaiton we needed about the hotel, including where the restaurant, pool etc were located and also information regarding pool towels, the gym and breakfast the following day. I was travelling with my younger sister (both in our 20's) and we were made to feel very safe and welcome.

The rooms were very clean and modern, we were on the 10th floor (top floor) with a city view. Albeit the view was over rooftops and the port, my sister and I did not have anything to complain about as we had the sunshine on our balcony all day and also what else could you expect from a hotel we were using for a city break? We were lucky enough to have a high floor so we were able to see the ships and workings of the port which was different to the usual sea or hotel pool view.
The rooms were beautifully decorated and the pool area was clean and also modern with a great view of the beach just below.

Breakfast each day was also very nice, a large selection of food, drinks, fresh fruit and we were able to find an available table on both days.

Overall, our stay was a great one, and if returning to Las Palmas, it would be my first choice again!

Las Palmas is a beautiful area, the people are very nice and there is a large amount of quality restaurants. Hotel Cristina was in a perfect location, the breakfast buffet was 10/10 and the staff were always extremely helpful. Canteras beach is next door to the hotel and is brilliant, not overcrowded and very peaceful.

With Google Maps I made a very easy journey to the front door.
I parked close by, but did not take the hotel car park as did not want to explore the one-way system!!

The room was spacious and clean. the staff are polite.
The breakfast buffet was adequate.
There are no drawers in the room even at the bedside, just a large wardrobe fixture with shelves.There is a disco attached to the hotel which operates 3 or 4 nights in the week until around 3-4 am. The bass beat noise is intrusive and annoying if you are on floor 1 (which is level 3 above the disco, of this 13 floors hotel.) On nights without disco the hotel is quiet.I would only return to this hotel if I was sure of a room on a much higher level.

No way this can be called a 5-star hotel. It has a fantastic location, and the price I paid was reasonable for the location, but the overall quality of the hotel is what I would expect from a 3 star. They are going through a major renovation at the moment. I had a room that had a new feel to it, but the overall quality was still very low. Perhaps I just got an older room that wasn't used much. Anyway, this is my 5th stay at the hotel and I always choose it because of the location, it's near to the end of the beach section that I like. Other then that, there is no reason to choose this hotel over another one, certainly not if you think you want a 5-star experience.

Nice hotel very close to the beach

The room was large with a good size bathroom. Breakfast was very good with a large choice. The location was excellent and right on the beach and in easy walking distance to many local restaurants and shops.

Great place!

3 night family city center visit, great location, very nice room size, temperature and quiet. Breakfast buffet was good quality/variety and staff friendly and helpful. Location is right on the Las Canteras boardwalk, great for walks/jogging along the beach, lots of places to eat and shop. Hotel is under renovations, dusty everywhere and poor construction details (lose door knobs/handles, sharp edges on shower floors). Internet was real weak. Elevators took forever, you might as well stay at a low floor if you don't care about the seaview, which btw is great: to either Las Canteras beach or towards the harbor. Overall good place for the price, yet not sure about the 5star classification.

Nice hotel that was close to the beach..

Gorgeous room with a city balcony view, seating area and a HUGE super comfy king size bed.
We arrived to find cold drinks in the fridge that were left for us by the hotel staff. All the maids greeted us and were very helpful. Hotel staff didn't speak much English but they were helpful too.

The lifts were a nuisance, only 2 work out of three. No iron in the hotel room either, there's a room you can iron your clothes in but an iron in the room would have been perfect.

Very nice hotel on the beach, very city center

Very cozy hotel almost on the beach, just walking path in between. A lot of shops and restaurants around, also modern shopping center. Very good breakfast buffet, great choice of food and beverages, wonderful eating area outside.
Friendly, helpfull staff. Only Wifi in the room wasn't always

Wonderful hotel on the beach

We had a fantastic stay; The room was large, clean and well equipped. Breakfast was really good - a buffet with every possible choice. The location was fantastic - right on the beach, great restaurants and bars on the doorstep too.
We had a sea view balcony room on the 7th floor which was well worth the small supplement per night. Although there were renovations happening (lifts being replaced) this did not affect our stay and staff ensured that it was not an inconvenience to guests. We look forward to returning again soon.

YES, VERY CLOSE TO BEACH WITH BALCONY OVERLOOKING

NOTABLY THE RESTAURANT WHICH WAS ALL LOCKED UP.WE THOUGHT THAT THE LIFTS COULD BE IMPROVED. THEY WERE OUT OF SERVICE FOR MAINTENANCE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS.THE HOTEL WAS BEING REFURBISHED OR REPAIRED IN SEVERAL AREAS

Lovely hotel. Would definately stay there again. The way the lift works is a bit weird so sometimes it's quite a long wait for it especially from the 'p' (pool/breakfast) floor. Fantastic location too!

Not a 4 - 5 start hotel ...

I was hoping for Wow factor during my stay. Unfortunately, the hotel is under renovations, and it is not nice to hear banging noises and see construction ongoing. Secondly, the room was clean, the view was nice, but I was on the third floor, and had to change rooms to find a stable internet connection. The room had two twin beds which were extremely soft and made for an unpleasant sleep. The upside is the breakfast was great!
