Was charged £3 more than the booking price. The new owners are trying to improve the hotel but no kettle in the room is a pain, especially as you had to go get it from downstairs. My other critisism was the mattress on the bed was terrible, everytime you rolled over it woke you with the noise. Not really nice when you can hear the springs next door creaking while they where having sex.

Kings Cross Hotel has a great team, nothing too much trouble at all. Location is central, which is great. Our premium room was okay, a few things could have made the world of difference, such as bathroom extractor fan working, bath mat and hand towel, and a second mirror, as the only one in the bathroom took ages to clear after a shower due to no fan. A downstairs coffee machine replaced the in room tea and coffee, but as a tea drinker, the tea wasnt good. Other than that, had a good stay, but it had the potential to be great one!!

On entry very welcoming, short wait at arrival time as the room was still being cleaned which was fair enough so bought a drink while waiting, then was told there were no tea/coffee facilities due to health and safety issues but could purchase from a coffee machine downstairs (this wasn't ideal for someone who drinks alot of coffee) £1.85 per cup is excessive when it’s complimentary with most hotels/b&bs, We stayed in a budget double room, it was spacious and tidy but there were what looked like blood stains on the blinds, we pulled the duvet back and there were a few small bits and 1 or 2 short hairs on the bedsheet and pillow, we couldn't get in the room at first as it had just been cleaned, other than that was a good stay.

Normally stay at King’s Cross as it’s one of the better hotels on Charnley road but not until some changes are made. Rooms are extremely small, can barely get around and beds are even smaller, definitely not a double. Bed frame and mattress seemed cheap, bed spring and metal racking noises were constant (and not in the good way lol)

Room decor was lovely and staff very friendly, just a shame about the rooms itself.

Arrived and room wasn’t cleaned properly. Ring mark on sideboard. Told the owner who first said the ring was an old one they couldn’t get off and that the rooms were made up and cleaned for each guest. I then said there was no toilet paper he then apologised and went along to clean and replace. I later noticed the base of the shower was also rotten. And the sides of the carpet looked rotten. We had stayed a number of years ago and couldn’t fault it nothing too much trouble etc. I’m sorry to say but with that much competition I won’t be back.

We stayed in a family room up 5 lots of stairs with a toddler and a 4 year old and suitcases we had a double bed and triple bunkbeds which were to high for the kids to sleep in we had to take the mattresses off the beds foe them to have a sleep, the bottom bunk bed,s pillow case and quilt cover was covered in make up which was disgusting, there was no tea or coffee facilities in the room , the shower did not drain when using it we definitely wont be back to stay there again.

Required to order and pay for breakfast the night before. The next morning the breakfast hours were posted as 0800 to 1000. We were there at 0800, no one around. We waited an hour (0900), called their number, no one answered and got no breakfast. Out the money. We had to get on the road.

If you want breakfast dont bother ordering, booked 2 days in a row and they failed to show up to cook it both days. Bed is like sleeping on a brick and its a small double so if youre booking for 2 adults i hope you like to sleep ontop of each other and you have to pay for extra pillows (they did give me one but think it was a guilt on not making breakfast when it was booked and paid for) bedrooms are very basic with draws inside however the draws where full of hair and dust so not really anywhere to put clothes. Carpets where filthy with tab burns on. Get what you pay for i suppose but it wont be somewhere we stay again.

Ok for one night stay if you’re not planning on doing anything other than sleeping there. If you enjoy sitting sideways on the toilet this ones for you. Bathroom was that small it was like a built in wardrobe. Have to request extra towels as one double room requires one towel apparently. Overall it did the job but we wouldn’t go back

Great budget hotel

A great budget hotel. I just wanted a bed for the night after a gig and this was spot on. The room was clean and comfortable. There is a well stocked bar area and another room with a pool table and games machines. Breakfast is only available Saturday, Sunday and school holidays but there are cafes at the end of the street. The lady who checked me in was lovely. I would definitely stay again if I'm in town for a gig.

The room we had was very poor, up 3 narrow flights of stairs with luggage, Window did not close as the latch is broken, room was very cold, heating does not work, toilet was very close to the wall u have to sit on the loo facing the side or your knees hit the wall... not a good en suite, i am size 8! The shower head kept tilting and falling off. Wifi would not connect in our room so had to use our mobile hotspot! Overall a terrible stay. Glad we was only there 1 night. There is no on site parking at this facility. You have to pay £18 per day in a near by council car park at the top of the road.

Stayed with my daughter and her friend (15 & 16yrs) we had a triple room. The hotel was really clean and the room was lovely, there was plenty to do within the hotel. Arcade games and pool table, the drinks from the bar were really reasonably priced. It had a lovely atmosphere and a warm welcome, we were greeted by Tegan who was absolutely lovely. She made sure we were well looked after and even when she was busy she made sure we had everything we needed. Her waffles were amazing too! The location is perfect, around 3 minutes walk to coral island. We had a lovely stay and will definitely be going back! Big thank you to Tegan for having us. Highly recommend this hotel.

For what it cost this place is great value and the owner could not have been more hospitable & helpful. The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable We stayed there as a band who were performing at The Winter Gardens and this was justa short walk. Plus the bar was open until 3am so we made the most of it.

A pleasant stay, Triple Room but extremely tight for 2 adults and a teen. Double bed was tiny also and very much a tight squeeze for my husband and I. The bathroom was very dated and would benefit from an upgrade. Overall the staff were friendly and the room was clean.

Before we could check in we where greated by the owener , ..... you cant check in till 2! Then shut the door we just wanted to know where we could park. The place smelt dirty. The bed was so tiny . Very out dated . The next day couldnt get breakfast as the chef didnt arrive. When we asked whst time breakfast is Serviced to , the owner said next 5 minutes. A customer of the hotel who had been waiting a long time told us about the chef not turning up.
Cheap enough but dirty and the owner didnt seem interested.

The room we got was high upstairs, tons of very tight stairs, no elevators. Very uncomfortable to carry bags. The place was dirty, the bathroom, the sheets, the floor carpets… we didn’t even showered and unfolded the beds because we didn’t expect it to be like that.
We got there late at night, some drunk people in the lobby bar, made it look even worse.

Ok stay but staff stole a Kindle!

Hotel and staff were nice enough, but one of the crew left a Kindle in the hotel. He rang them to say he'd left it there. they said they had it safe for him. He drove all the way there to collect it and they said they'd 'lost' it. The Kindle had been de-registered from his account, so it's obviously been sold or been stolen by staff. Very sad, really didn't need to happen.

Property was in a brilliant location 5mins walk to beach, was well equipped and staff were brilliant very helpful, only 2 negatives, smell of food until early hours of morning, part my fault due to window being open, 22c during the day, and the local bin wagon giving a 5am wake up call. Disappointed in general with our stay.

Easy to find and public parking close by. Greeted by a pleasant chap who gave us the low down, hotel it’s self very clean with a nice bar and eating area not that we used it.
Room it’s self was clean but very very small, double bed was a 3/4 and you could just say walk round it. Bathroom very small too but clean. No kettle or tea and coffee facilities.
Questioned the staff young girl about the size of the room and bed to be be told it was a double… it defo wasn’t. Questioned why no tea making facilities to be advised they have a machine in the restaurant which we where shown how this fad too be is if for… apparently this was on the website I could not see it.
One final thing is the price we when we booked on line was £90 we paid on arrival and where charge £93 when I questioned this the young girl said it was an admin fee… disappointed would have expected the fee to be much less for a box room with a 3/4 bed and no kettle. Young chap who checked us in was nice and pleasant your g girl however rather abrupt and rude when we spoke with her. Didn’t see the point in complaining as we knew we would get know where… won’t be returning

This was a brief visit to Blackpool for family reasons. Whilst the staff were very pleasant and welcoming and the hotel was generally clean and well presented, our doble room was absolutely tiny, the bed/mattress was extremely uncomfortable and there was nowhere at all to hang our clothes. Also, although we left early, we still paid (i.e. NO Refund) for the 2nd night and have only received 1 of our 2 Rewards from Hotels.com!!!

Only stayed for one night. The room itself (room 19) was tastefully decorated however the carpet did have some stains on. The light for the en-suite was automatic which meant that when using the shower, the sensor couldn’t detect you and you’d be plunged into darkness! Not great when you’re trying to shave your legs! No tea/coffee facilities in the room but they do provide a hairdryer. Some old reviews online suggest that towels and bed linen were not provided but they were for my stay. No lift in the building and the staircase is very narrow. We didn’t eat at the King’s Cross as there were many cheap places to choose from nearby. Excellent location with respect to the train station (Blackpool North), Blackpool Tower and Central Pier. Cheap and cheerful, would stay again.

We stayed for the night with our 2 boys, the staff were really lovely. Our kids loved the games room, the bar was well stocked and reasonably priced. We didn’t have any food but the menu did look amazing so will defo try next time we go. The breakfast was American style so we decided to go a cafe. The room was spotless and the tv was a smart tv so we log into Netflix. Overall we had a great stay and will be booking again when we’re in Blackpool. Can not recommend enough.

Mixed bag for us

Booked without too much trouble. Had to pay £3 for a key which was not returnable. On top of the £6 parking.
Shown to our room, which despite being small was lovely and clean. Well made bed, fresh towels etc.
As others have stated no kettle, but we were Aware of that on booking ( unlike the key) staff were fine, sadly some of the guests were to say the least, rough!
If the key situation was included we would stay again. Fingers crossed, the other guests would not be ringing the police and swearing, screeching and shouting!

Pretty basic hotel but clean enough, but you get what you pay for I guess. Way too many rules, cant do this cant do that, its a hotel not a school. The 1am curfew had us racing back early which was a nightmare and spoiled our night, if you stay out after 1am you have to pay an additional £15, really? The room itself was ok, but there was nowhere whatsoever to hang our clothes, no wardrobe, rail, nothing at all. No tea or coffee making facilities either which is strange, no shampoo or shower gel either. When we did get back to the hotel we ordered some food which was not bad but the atmosphere in the dining area was terrible, we could hear 2 members of staff having an almighty row (well there was only one shouting) some fella was getting a proper telling off for a late delivery of food, not very professional at all and left our party feeling a bit uneasy. Had a strange feel to it overall and as I said earlier, maybe this was because of all the rules that you have to abide by, wouldn't even give us a second key for the room. Won't be back.

This hotel has got to be the best hotel i have ever stayed at whilst in Blackpool.
The staff was superb always had timenfor you and always assisted you. The food was 10/10 they do a briliiant breakfast although we didnt have a evening meal here the menu looked exquisite all homemade (will 100% try next time we go).
The room was spotless really well cleaned and beautifully decorated the beds were comfy and the kids loved the triple bunk bed.

Kings cross hotel We would stay again

The owners was really lovely so welcoming and they was so good with the children. Showed us around before we got settled in. Snooker table darts ect for the children to play with any time.

Great location to the pier, and the beach.

The family room that we had was standard would have been nice to have had a kettle, cups for hot drinks ect.

It’s a shame that the breakfast wasn’t included as the children wanted to but we had to be out for 10am would have been better if check out was for 11am instead.

We had a great stay, hotel facilities were great, location was great, staff were great. The only issue was I booked a family roon as was staying with my three children. My children are aged 6,16 and 17, so although are children, the tallest is 6,1\" so the bunk beds were not a great fit. That was the only negative, but was not really the hotels fault.

Overall great stay friendly and helpful my main neagives was no parking and no discount for nearest carpark should have discount available to customers also they have a few too many rules in place felt abit military carnt do this carnt do that also if want to go out past 1am they cahrge you more mkney for a noght key so felt abit trapped in so on this basis i would not stay there again for these reasons we are adults not children and dont like being asked for more money just cuz i want to go out this should be in price in first place

The hotel looks nice from outside when you get into hotel the down stairs is nice but rooms was small and had no brewing up facilities in the room from the day we checked in till the day we checked out we had no sleep due to doors banging and people shouting the rooms need brewing up facilities in them as some people don’t have enough money to pay for hot drinks out of the drinks machine then when we got to hotel on top of our room charge we had to pay a room fee which we never got back

The Kings Cross Hotel was nice and clean they dident have Tea Coffee facilities in the room overall it was a nice place
