I booked this hotel for my daughter who is 22 and was travelling alone. when she checked in she noticed that the window wouldn't close. I wasn't happy when she told me so I called the hotel and explained the safety issue and asked if they could take a look. I then called her back there was already a knock on her door from the handy man.
He couldn't fix it so they moved her to another room. I am so impressed with the service and speed that the hotel dealt with my concerns and would definately recommend them.

Car park opposite is ideal and super close to town which is great. Hotel is however so dated, and cleanliness in rooms and outside of hotel is not great. WiFi doesn’t work. Everywhere creaks as you move around so woken by other families throughout stay as people moved through hotel. Hairdryer broken, toilet seat broken, shower pointless and dirty, throw on bed dirty, windows grotty.

Bed wasnt level it , it dropped to one side so when you lay down you could tell, it was also very creaky so every time you moved it would make a loud sound, the toilet/bathroom door wouldnt close from the outside which ment the cold draft and light would come into the room at night and with the door next to the bed it wasnt ideal, there was also a damp patch on the wall this was noticed by the huge bubble in the paint work

The staff were friendly at reception and in the bar. But honestly the place is dreadful. Stained, threadbare carpets, rooms where there is no suggestion of maintenance (broken show holder, broken soap dispenser, shower that is impossible to bend down in, loo light not working. The English breakfast has gone - to be replaced by a pot of baked beans and hard boiled eggs. Bread for toast could not have been any thinner. The only way they can get away with this is because of their extreme proximity to the Winter Gardens. It feels as if it is being run into the ground. Blackpool does have some decent budget hotels - but this not one of them. It needs a complete overhaul.

Having chosen Blackpool to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we looked for a mid-range hotel as we had planned to spend money on other things. Big mistake this was in choosing the Comfort Inn - Gresham Hotel.

As per the norm, the room looked nothing like the photos, but this was so much worse. Dirty carpet that wasn’t vacuumed before arrival, mouldy shower, sickly toilet seat, broken blinds, drunken guests in adjacent room fighting at 3am, stained bath towel and which was small, and a tv that would not connect to freeview.
The owner vapes throughout the common areas and made it unpleasant for us as non-smokers. Kevin served us at the bar and drink prices are reasonable and his recommendations for eating places was appreciated.

Biggest plus is that there is parking directly opposite, and everything is in walking distance.

Comfort Inn queries revert to an app that doesn’t work and one cannot contact anyone except through a direct call. We have reservations about how Comfort Inn achieved such a high rating, but it’s definitely not an accurate reflection of the standards they uphold. This is a 2/5 establishment and we will definitely spend that little bit extra to find somewhere better next time.

Hotel is shabby and down at heel. Although there has been some attempt at improving the condition of the rooms, there is a pervasive sense that management do not care. No hot water for the shower on arrival (resolved - boiler was off!), Tired and marked bed linen although mattress felt newish. Breakfast (not purchased) was a joke. Billed as continental it fell far short of that description.

The only positive, whuch raised my rating considerably was the staff member that seemed to be there morning, moon and night, working the bar, reception, and who knows what else. She was always smiling, pleasant, and caring. The only other member of staff, the gentleman that checked me in was the pokar opposite, dressed in track pants and old top with a surly, indifferent manner.

The room was very dated , tired and in need of modernising , old non working heaters still attached to the wall , radiators that was not turned on ( were in December ) and all that was in room was a little plug in heater that was not even turned on ..
when asked at reception for a second heater to go to room while we went outside to warm up was told the heater would go straight to the room and be turned on so the room was warm on our return ..
1 hour later and we get back into room to find no more heaters .. so went to reception and she said .. oh yeah I forgot I was cooking dinner ..
on the morning of check out no sign of life at reception and the lights out and no instructions as to where to leave room card ..
Look it’s Blackpool and I get the rooms and prices reflect what you get BUT I also think any paying customer should feel they have get value for money .. and I can’t say I felt that on this occasion .

This is a completely honest review.

Yes, the property is old and outdated, and some attempts have been made to renovate or refresh areas without big investment. What I didn’t envisage is old vomit on my mattress topper, significant stains on the mattress topper, with hairs all in it. This is in addition to slug trails on carpets in the breakfast area, gunge coming out of the apple juice tap at breakfast time, TV not working in the bedroom with the last electrical test 2 years out of date, hot water tap in the bathroom not switching off when used and gushing out, requiring a fix and never to be used again. Shower head also broken and not staying in the holder. I did move rooms but the 2nd room and bed exactly the same.

That being said, the beds looked brand new, the mattress under the dirty topper in great condition and the bed was actually the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in. The staff were friendly and wanted to do their best but probably lacking the right leadership to really improve all the areas needed. I paid £200 for 2 nights, some friends paid less for the same room. I wouldn’t recommend and I wouldn’t stay again. However, we did enjoy the bar area, karaoke and Drag Artist, but think it was largely due to being with around 20 friends and us all having a good time together.

I genuinely try to see the positive, but if it wasn’t for the desperation of a room and the location to Winter Gardens, I probably would have attempted to look for other accommodation.

Ideal location for sea front, attractions, bars and shopping. Advertised online as double room and most definitely is not. Bed was only a small double and our room only had 1 teacup with 1 teabag and coffee sachet. Shower was cold, had to run water for 15 minutes before it got warm and only 1 big towel, room didn’t look anything like pictures or as described online. Friends shower in the room next door not as pictured either and shower was only a small amount of running water, not enough to shower in.

Avoid worst place ever

On arrival all looked good but omg how wrong i was. Downstairs reception and bar area looked inviting but thats where it ended. The first room was filthy absolutely awful. I asked to change rooms but the 2nd wasnt much better. The pictures used are not what we stayed in or seen. The 3 rooms i viewed was all the same. Even the clean bedding was still dirty. This place needs an absolute fortune spending on it. Couldnt get hot water either. For what we paid for 2 days was disgusting even dick turpin wore a mask when ripping people off. I'll post photos. Definitely will not be returning.

The hotel was pretty run down and the rooms look nothing like what you see in the pictures and the rooms are not for anyone using a wheelchair the showers are very small so if your well built its not for you.The staff at the hotel was great especially Stacey as nothing wasn't to much trouble for her she is a credit to the hotel.We had bit of a time trying to sleep becaue of noise from the upper floors which i complained about and the manger was very helpful and offered us another room.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast great for gluten free. I asked for some gluten free toast and the manager took the time to go and buy a gluten free loaf from the shops. I thought this was extremely kind of them to do this. Entertainment at night was very enjoyable great singer. Would recommend the comfort inn to all my friends and we will return.

The staff were pleasant, and from the outside the hotel is the nicest in the area, on the doorstep of local attractions.

However, although modernised, it still has considerable signs of being dated (bathrooms, corridor areas, windows, threadbare / stained carpets etc).

I was disappointed with the room, however in fairness we hadn’t paid a lot this time, as we were at a weekend dance comp and didn’t need to spend a lot of time in the room, so it suited our purpose. I read some online reviews after I arrived, and I think some are unfair in relation to standards of cleanliness and bedbugs. Our bedding was clean and crisp and the room, although dated, was largely clean (maybe pay more attention to deep cleaning… I had to move the side table slightly to plug my phone charger in and there was some leftover rubbish & dirty corners)

Location: I felt vulnerable walking through the local area with my daughter, because of surrounding properties
Others might love, but unfortunately for us there was live entertainment. We only booked to sleep, not party. It stopped at midnight, but bar music continued into the early hours from downstairs. Our room (room 6) was immediately above the bar area, and noisy. The bass pumped through the walls and floors and i couldn’t hear my husband on the phone over the noise. Additionally, after only getting to sleep at 1:30 due to noise, we were woken at 7am with very loud creaking floors and doors. You could hear every conversation in the hallway.

Totally unprofessional staff . They didnt have a clue how to run a hotel . No ale in the bar on a friday . No ice . Cheap lemonade from a 2litre bottle that was flat . Dirty glasses. There was a notice in the lift that said 2 people only if there was more than 2 people and the lift breaks down then you will be fined £200 . I was also warned if my suitcase was heavy that could be counted as a person not very welcoming. Dirty pillowcase . The carpets were very dirty , there was a dog biscuit on the floor for 3 days in the pool room . Breakfast was a shambles, cooked in dirty fat , little black bits stuck all over them ,bacon, sausage and hash browns very burnt . The orange juice had black bits in . No water in the urn and no coffee cutlery filthy .

Beds were comfortable and clean but the room and bathroom where rreally dated and desperately in need of updating.
We didnt eat the cooked breakfast aa we saw what the people on the next table got served. Not a great continental selection but toast was ok. No hot water for coffee.

Great overnight stay

Perfect distance from town centre. Stayed in room with 2 doubles and a single. The room was clean - as were the beds - and quite spacious. Yes, the furniture is scratched and the carpets need replacing but it was absolutely fine for our needs - we had nothing to complain about. Receptionist was wonderful - I think they are lucky to have her as there was an ignorant man around who I presume was the owner! I think the price should be reduced as there is clearly a need for refurbishment but it was honestly fine for a night.

In need of a revamp

One to avoid. Other than the friendly helpful staff the hotel itself is in dire need of a revamp. The reception and bar area is ok but the rooms are awful, small and damp. The shower didn't work properly and we had to have cold showers. Bed was actually comfortable. Guess we can't complain too much as the price was fairly cheap but we've definitely stayed in nicer guest houses in Blackpool.

Booked the hotel after viewing photos online, after booking we received a message advising the hotel was going under renervation and photos reflected the new rooms. I emailed them back to enquire but received no response.

The room we were in was pretty dated, bathroom door wouldn't shut, toilet roll handle hanging off the wall. Tiny radiator which didn’t have the power to heat the room. Marks on walls and ceiling which was also damaged, light above the bed didnt work. Dated curtains and wallpaper which was peeling in places and hole in the bathroom ceiling, several pipes exposed out of the floor.

We could tell they had tried to make it nice and the two staff members we spoke to were both friendly and helpful.

We didnt have the best nights sleep due to the temperature in the room, and noises from doors banging and the generator or extraction unit outside the room making a lot of noise.

It is well located, and served its purpose of giving us a place to stay for the night. However we could have stayed at the premier inn for around the same amount, obviously we paid the same as someone in a renervated room and perhaps then would have found it more worth the money.

Usually when staying in a hotel we like to spend time in the room to relax and get ready before going out but felt unable to do so.

All in all, a bad nights sleep and very over priced in our experiece.

Fantastic location for a conference at the Winter Gardens. So good to be right on the doorstep so you can pop back between sessions if needed.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Room was comfortable and clean but quite tired. Corridors were very narrow and very worn out carpets.
Breakfast was okay - but “English and continental” was a stretch. Contknental = toast and cereal: no fruit/pastry etc.

First of all a shout out to the staff. Craig was on the front desk who was cheerful and welcoming. Check in was a breeze. The night manager was also friendly whilst serving a couple of late night (very cheap!) drinks in the hotel bar. The public areas were clean and tidy, although the stairs and landing carpets are in need of a deep clean. The triple room itself (£65 for the one night stay) whilst refurbished was showing signs of wear and tear plus it was clear the refurb had not been prepped and was somewhat slap dash. The bathroom had not been refurbished, was dated (an avocado basin and toilet!) and the shower cubicle had signs of black mould, but was clean. That said, the beds were very comfortable and despite the room being on a main road and over looking a car park was surprisingly quiet, so got a good nights sleep. The comments are purely for others to decide if this hotel is right for them. Personally the negatives were not enough to complain to the staff about and wouldn't prevent another stay there. The charming staff more than made up for it!

Photos vs reality are very different

It was certainly an ‘experience’ but not somewhere I’ll be staying again. The rooms in the photo differ greatly from what we experienced. Very uncomfortable bed. Extremely loud hotel until 4am, then after only a few hours sleep, woke up to not even have a working shower. Eventually after 6 minutes of running the water, finally got hot water… but the shower adapter had 2 settings at that point: freezing cold, or scalding hot.

Overall, very disappointed.

Very basic and photos dont reflect hotel

The hotel room in itself was clean which was my main concern. We had a \"refurbished\" room but the refurb is basic tk say the least. New beds and a lick of paint. The rest of the furniture was old and marked. The bathroom was very old. Towel rail and toilet roll holder both broken and black damp patches on the ceiling.

The Corridors are very grubby and run down and when we arrived there was a terrible smell of cigarette smoke which i advised reception of.

The person who checked us in on Tuesday and served us later in thw bar was fantastic! Very helpful and friendly. Staff the remainder of the stay were hard to track down.

Cleanliness issues in room following late check in

We arrived and couldn’t check in on time as room not ready. Finally got key 1 1/2 hours after check in stated. Got to the room to find stained sheet and cupboards full of half eaten food and stuff left over from last guests (toothbrushes and other items). Toilet was constantly making a noise like it had just been flushed and general furniture in poor condition. A shame really as hotel lounge/ bar was good and staff were very friendly and helpful. Worth also stating that following us raising the issue with room, they rectified this - it was as if our room hadn’t been cleaned at all. Overall without the room issues the location was good and hotel downstairs area good. Was informed renovations are ongoing so could be better in the future but with so many options to choose from, you would have to question a return.

Convenient location, but sooo run down. Asked for help with heater as it was cold, was told it was on a timer, it never came on. No hot water in shower. Bugs of sone kind, like small ladybug. Very old and shabby. Dont stay here!

Staff and management were excellent, couldn't do enough for you.
Also we experienced that they completely care, about their customers, checking on the young people who were staying there, and that they were safe, after being out drinking, all day. I really would like to say thank you.
You are a brilliant team that work well together. I would definitely return here again. Breakfast definitely worth having.
The staff will make you welcome and that makes a difference 😉

Get a new cleaner and manager

The location is excellent and literally next to the Winter Gardens. Parking is available for £16 for 18 hours in the car park literally in front of the hotel. We arrived to check in at 3pm and by 4pm we had left. The lady and younger shaved head guy on reception were lovely, we were given our room, number 30 and went up. Upon entering the room it smelt horrific of poo. The toilet was splattered with faeces and because it was in like a cupboard with no windows it was impossible to get rid of the smell. We had asked for a return room (birthday treat) and the furniture was cheap chipped and shoddy. The view was of the back of the building, which needs a good clean and the windows need a wash, we asked to change rooms and was given room 37.
The room smelt fresh, and things were much better until we looked closer. The window ledge was disgusting, so were the skirting boards. We then looked in the bathroom and was greeted with the ceiling literally covered in mould. The bathroom resembled something out of the 1980’s, green bathroom suite, scruffy, and the most dust I’ve ever seen on the pipes behind the sink and toilet. We asked hotels.com to move us, they contacted the owner ? , and he gave us 3 minutes to get checked out and out of the property. The older guy, assistant manager/ owner whatever he is, needs customer service training asap, he was unwilling to change our rooms again coz I’d find fault in any rooms apparently. Well I wouldn’t if they were clean and acceptable!!

Staff - fabulous, helpful and friendly. Spotlessly clean hotel. Some rooms have been refurbished but ours was one of those not done yet so decor and fixings were dated but clean. The room was cold even with the radiator on but they must know it’s a problem because there was a fan heater which soon warmed the room up. Comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in and the pillows were ace too. Had a wonderful night’s sleep as the room was very quiet. Spotless bedding and towels. Loved it. We’re already planning our next stay.

Stayed here on the lead up to Christmas as we had a theatre trip at the Winter Gardens booked.
The location was absolutely perfect - a 4 minute walk.

I was very pleased with the rate, which was reasonable.

We used the car park opposite, which cost £16 for 18 hours, which again, I thought was reasonable.

The hotel was very welcoming and the staff we came across were all friendly.
We (family of four - one adult three children) stayed in a family room (sleeps 5) which was small but functional.
It was nicely presented and everything was clean and I was pleased to find coat hangers in the wardrobe as there is nothing more annoying than not being able to hang your clothes up!
The communal areas were all nicely presented and clean.
The breakfast was good and the service was friendly.

All in all really happy with my stay here and would definitely book again.

Perfectly for me.

I was meet by a professional and friendly staff who gave me my room number and let me know if there was any thing I needed just ask and also if there was any ploblems .When I was in my room there was a easy to read book that had all the information about my stay. The staff to keep me comtable were really excellent at they job well done. I had a great time with enough privacy.

Location is good but…

The hotel is apparently in the process of being refurbished however, we were unlucky and were in a room that was small, cold, noisy and unloved, and the stairs and hallways were just the same. The only way to get hot water was to leave the shower running for 10 minutes and then it only came out at a dribble. Location-wise, it was great!

Hotel tired and dated, room was adequate for a solo stay, bed comfy and a quiet night so slept well. Got up for a shower in the morning and no hot water 😩 cold shower was not what i was expecting. Breakfast was adequate but not worth the £8.

This was our first time at the Comfort Inn Gresham but it won’t be our last everyone was very helpful and polite our room was light and airy although the toilet was a bit snug. Breakfast was good. Overall a really good experience and excellent venue for the Winter Gardens and Shopping

Really not comfort..

The hotel is old old old and have a really bad smell when we check in and in the entire hotel as well.
The wifi password is a super weird long one but didnt even work still
The room is tiny and structure is weird. Your bed is next to the toilet sink which is not in the toilet…. And the sink make noise whenever someone use the sink in different room or different floor. So you basically hear everything.
The toilet is also very tiny, cant even fit in a single person. The loo is half step away from the shower. So you cant step out the shower without your body touch the loo. Which is very not hygiene!

But during our trip in blackpool we found that the whole town is full of old hotels so it might not be there problem only. Maybe the whole town is lack of tourist so its not updated. We also found it hard to look for a decent hotel when we book…

Side note, the hotel is refurnishing and said will be done by June 2022 so the hotel said there might be chance to guve us an old room (while the pics online show new room) but we went there at late june 2022. They are still giving us the old room and tbh theres not even much people staying in the hotel! Coz when we had breakfast, we only see one other person staying.

Well it was awful. I didn’t even stay. Arrived and was given the key to a dirty room, then another key for a dirty room. Then a key for a vile room. I ended up walking out and stayed somewhere else and requesting a refund. Looks NOTHING like the pictures.
