the woman working the front desk during my stay was very rude and unprofessional. this left a bad taste in my mouth which was a bummer because otherwise i loved the property, location, and hotel overall. my only other complaint is that the shower area/wall for the bathroom was completely see through in the center of the room so if you’re staying with friends or family they’ll be able to see you shower naked. overall it was nice but i wouldn’t stay again due to poor service and the weird clear glass bathroom area

The hotel is lovely! It is clean, feels very safe, and the staff is wonderful! It is located in a small neighborhood which I liked, but was close to everything with a short 10 min Uber ride. Some restaurants were within a 5-15 minute walk which were very good. While we were there, there was 1 issue with a water pipe. A bit of an inconvenience but did not last more than 1 day.

What a great find in a really cool part of Cape Town. Its close to everything and anything you need - Bree Street, Kloof etc and easy Ubers for longer distances. Staff were superb.

I really can’t comment on the above questions because I was there for a very specific reason and didn’t do anything touristy!

Unsatisfactory stay

Rooms are untidy, especially under beds- daily cleaning is not up to standard. Gowns and some towels were removed and not replaced during our stay.
Parking entrance and exit you need to press and there’s no sanitizer (exposure to COVID) same goes to lift.
Parking is not free for guests.

Lovely hotel but needs a refresh

I have stayed at the Cape Milner about 6 times . Hotel is lovely and the staff and service is great. My room was a suite on this occasion and it was tired and needs updating. The room staff had not cleaned the room properly and there empty water bottles on the balcony outside and No spoons in the room for coffee. I actually think the lower grade rooms are better /newer and so will just save the money and book a standard room going forward.

Lovely stay, great hotel, nice pool area and really helpful staff. We accidentally left our passports and extra cash in the safe. Everything was safe and sound at the front desk when we returned to pick it up two days later. Easy and cheap onsite parking too. Really great location, walking distance to excellent restaurants and BoKap neighborhood. If I am Cape Town again I will definitely stay here.

First class hotel with welcoming reception

From the moment we arrived at reception Lee could no of been more helpful and accommodating. The rooms a clean and well appointed, the location is good for table mountain.
Compared to other accommodation we have stayed at in Cape Town it gives good value for money,
Lee on reception was the best reception staff by far anywhere we stayed!

at book in was a member of staff whose first day at the job it was- no one to assist - but it was okay - I booked room with twin beds but were taken to room with one double/queen size- had to wait about 10 - 15 min before someone relocated me - when asked why they did not heck my booking - I received a very meaningless reply. breakfast was excellent - Coffee very very bad though - Coffee to me very important part f breakfast - I will not stay at Cape milner because of ghastly coffee.

Good looking hotel reception, restaurant, pool areas. Excellent breakfast. Super friendly helpful staff. Room was substandard. Extremely basic, lights not working, doorlock not working, cupboard handle falling off. We had workmen in and out of the room to repair things. Not impressed. The hotel itself is really lovely though, so if the rooms are fixed I would well recommended it.

Cape Milner is an amazing boutique hotel in an incredible city. The hotel offers nice big clean rooms with big bathrooms, an impressive included breakfast, beautiful little pool and even a free shuttle for transport around town.

NO WIFI !!

The hotel was excellent BUT the only reason it doesn't rate excellent was due to the lack of wi-fi as advertised...
Wifi is free but only available in reception. We joined a long queue at reception to query why there was not wifi access in the rooms. Everyday we were told it was a temporary fault. We queried again one evening and the night gentleman on the reception desk was very abrupt and obviously didn't understand getting wifi access. Apart from him and the lack of wifi the hotel, although a little out of town was excellent in every respect with wonderfully efficient and friendly staff. I'd definitely go back.

My reservation was a prepaid hotels.com one yet check-in staff insisted that I had to pay for my room which resulted in an annoyingly painful & prolonged check-in experience. My room however with it's balcony and stunning view quickly made up for this shortfall. Breakfast was average with all warm offerings being totally ice-cold (eggs, mushrooms, hash, tomato, beans etc). Various restaurants within walking distance was a total plus!

Nice average hotel. I had a room facing a busy road. The windows do not seal properly so quite noisy. Had to get housekeeping to change the bedding as it was dirty. Toilet keeps running water after every flush.

Super Staff at Hotel

Our stay at the Cape Milner was a joy because of the wonderful staff! Aladdin was so helpful - heard us talking about curry and shared his mother's recipe and bought spices for us. The night porter walked us to the street where we could find restaurants. We had trouble with the heat in our room at first - the engineer was prompt and fixed the problem immediately. I'd highly recommend this hotel to friends and I'd return with enthusiasm.

Very disappointing.

Hotel had no idea we were coming, despite booking & confirming a luxury room online. On arrival I was told that I had not booked!

It turns out that the expensive suites & the cheaper standard rooms have a fantastic view of table mountain. Much to my bemusement, the luxury suites all face the road behind the hotel, with a view only of the back wall, the trees and a few houses over the road. I find the view to be somewhat overstated and disappointing.

Breakfasts over the 5 days we stayed were all IDENTICAL. No effort to bring in variety. The range and quality was barely passable for the quality of the hotel.

A complimentary sliced fruit platter in our room was left by cleaning staff for 2-3 days until little small fruit flies gathered under the plastic. The plate was only removed once I called the manager on duty.

In the car park, some sort of goo dripped from the ceiling onto my car and windscreen. this was really difficult for me to remove.

The overall quality and friendliness permeates though out the whole hotel. From the moment we checked in till when we left every member of staff went out of there way to be helpful. the food in the restaurant was outstanding and the prices reasonable.I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone thinking of staying there.

Excellent service, lovely food and groovy decor made this a good choice.It's about 15mins drive (£5) taxi ride to the waterfront but a good spot for a business hotel. The pool was tiny and the bed so hard I had to sleep on my pillows otherwise I would have given it a 5 considering what good value it was .

Nice and confortable hotel. Road in front of the hotel a bit too busy. Nice pool and good service. However, during my stay woke up one night when someone got into my room although it was double-locked. Got really scared and called to the reception, they blaimed it was the housekeeping. Nothing was gone but still I would expect that the door cannot be opened when it is double-locked.

good hotel for the price, especially in off season

The staff are excellent and did a great job trying to make my stay pleasant but remember to bring your Expedia print out. I had opted for a upgraded level room but their records did not show it, until I produced my copy of the Expedia receipt.

The hotel is fine, it is an older Cape Town favourite, near the busy Long Street but without all the noise. Make sure to ask for a room away from the street corner as other guests have warned. Easy walk to many restaurants and stores and the hotel car service will drop you around town at no charge. The driver is a great guy and can offer useful tips.

The hotel staff was always friendly and willing to assist. The pillows were awfully hard on the first night, but after speaking to the concierge, the pillows were immediately replaced and every night after was comfortable. The food was delicious and the views amazing.

we had a very pleasant stay at the hotel, from the moment we parked our car outside the entrance, the hotel staff was already there to carry our bags. Very competent staff, they responded promptly to our needs and went out of their way to make our stay cormfortable. Hotel interior very modern, comfortable beds, flat screens and they even upgraded us to a suite without any charge. Overall, our stay was excellent and a big thank you to the Hotel staff. I will definately use The Cape Milner Hotel again.

Good stay

Very friendly staff and the room was spacious. Room 401 is a corner unit and then you have good views of the city and table mountain. The breakfast is excellent and on par with very high end hotels. Location is perfect for the city, but traffic can be very busy during peak times. I would stay at the hotel again, especially at the rate I received from hotels.com!
