The hotel and location are amazing. The rooms are comfortable, clean, felt luxurious, and our park-side room had an amazing direct view of the park, where we could see a few of the animals, which was lovely. The staff were really friendly, welcoming and helpful. The cafes, restaurants and shops that are on the hotel’s doorstep are really nice and the whole area feels enclosed and a lovely place to stay, relax and explore. The park is beautiful and right next to the hotel - so perfect to stay if you’re going to the park. It’s an all-around great hotel to stay in for a night, or even for a full holiday! We will definitely be returning.

Hotel room was dusty, bits on floor, looking run down with paint missing. Not very big and no chair to sit on only low stool which I couldn't use due to being disabled. Lots of tea and coffee available. Breakfast was good.

I loved my 'mini-break' at The Hex Hotel. I was combining a day at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park and meeting up with various family members who lived near Rossington, so a 2-night stay was arranged. On both evenings I treated cousins to a meal at the restaurant, and the food was delicious, the staff were attentive and friendly. Also had breakfast there each morning, which was tasty and plenty of choice provided. The hotel room was so comfortable and roomy, and the bathroom had both a bath and a shower. I was also lucky and was upgraded to a room with a balcony. There's loads of parking, but it is a bit of a walk from there to the hotel reception area, then a further walk to the actual hotel. I can highly recommend a stay here. I'll definitely be booking again.

We had a family room which was lovely. We had a fridge which was good for storing snacks for our small grandchildren 2 and 4 years. One point. It is a family room but we could not access any of the childrens channels cbbc. The breakdast was delicious with plenty to choose from. Staff were very friendly

Having a fridge in the room and a kitchen at the end of the corridor was ideal when travelling with my 3 year old grandson. He loved spotting the dinosaurs from the window. Room was spotless and comfortable. Great service from reception and the staff at the Wild Bistro Cafe

It was a lovely room and the staff were great. My only criticism I have is I paid for a room with view of the park-i didn't feel this was fulfilled. I could see one enclosure but otherwise it was of the outdoor seating area, the park entrance and all the work that was been done. I would have also thought that when checking in I would be asked if I wanted to visit the park as there was no option when booking to add a park visit. The food was great, the staff were super friendly.

This hotel is awesome! Set in a great location. Everywhere was so clean. The room was perfect for a one night stay, with the amenities you require, all catered for. There is even a room adjacent to the lifts, for microwave or bottle warming. They really have thought of everything. Being required to tag in to gain access does give you a peace of mind that only guests may enter.
In the morning for breakfast, you can not loan. A great selection of everything required for a long day of walking around the awesome zoo next door

The Hex Hotel is a Basic hotel on the luxury side. What I mean is there are no frills but it is a great place to stay particular when visiting the Yorkshire Wildlife park. It makes the stay very pleasant being able to relax after your visit or before your visit to the park. Two nights is ideal visiting the YWP in the middle. If you are a YWP member you can visit for a short while on all days. I really like the hotel and always stay here when travelling to the YWP.
It is clean and spacious with friendly staff. The breakfast is wonderful with everything you could want, The eggs this time were a little like bullets but it may have been just my timing I guess not everyone likes a runny egg. Air conditioning in the rooms is a plus when hot such as at the current time.

A lovely place but unfortunately let down by rude staff, bad room placement and broken air conditioning.

There was a wedding taken place and the music went on into the night, between this and the broken air conditioning, our young baby was disturbed through the night. We contacted Gary the nightporter who was helpful and explained they knew it was an issue and to raise it with management the following day. We contacted management by email in the end as no one was available the following day. I was contacted by Vicky, who did offer a tokenistic 20% off on future bookings but implied I had lied about all issues and failed to respond when I queried her approach. Really disappointing, at over £200 a night - we got no sleep and our baby really didn’t enjoy the next day owing to his discomfort in the night.

A real shame that it could have been resolved so easily with effective customer service and a kind manner.

The air con wasn’t working on our first three nights but the last night (also the warmest night) it thankfully was fixed. It was much needed in the evening when the sun moves round.
The room was a good size and equipped with everything - kettle, good selection of hot drinks, hairdryer , iron and board, fridge and mini toiletries. The cleaning was done to a good standard. Our room overlooked the park, we saw the Lar Gibbons, Tapirs, Maned Wolves and Bush dogs at all times during the day. It was very special and a wonderful sight to wake up to.
Breakfast was delicious, a good choice at the buffet - fruit cereals, toast, crumpets, cooked breakfast and cold and hot drinks.
The staff were excellent, they were always polite and helpful, very friendly and welcoming!

Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, loved that there is an ice machine on each floor... only issue being that there is nothing to put the ice in to take it to your room. The room itself we likes alot it was very spacious and modern, the ac wasnt great as it wouldn't let you put the room temp below 19 degrees so didnt really do much. We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast... the main issue we had with this hotel is the distance from the car park to the entrance, it is way too far especially as my husband is in a wheelchair so took more than one trip just to get him and then all the luggage up to the room.

On entry of the Hex Hotel the car park is a short distance from the hotel entrance, there is no drop off point immediately outside the reception area, eg - if it was raining your items would be quite if not not entirely soaked. My advice is to park up first, sign in at the Hotel Reception and then collect a porters trolley for your luggage from the reception area. However if you are able to carry all your items in one go then great. Staff are friendly, polite and inform you are all the important notices to make your stay pleasing. Our room was a double, parkside, which was so nice to wake upto, it was clean, had all the ammenties required for your stay and I am very particular. However, if you are used to soft towels, please bring your own, these are very rough, in our eyesand the shower is fantastic. On our last night we had an issue with the safe, the number did not work, it continually kept asking for an ecode, at this point we contacted reception and someone came immediately to sort this out. They elementated all possiblities and unfortunately was not able to resolve this, due to be a fault on the safe, so there was 2 options - 1. remain in the room, as we were checking out the following morning, or 2. relocate to another room, but it was nice that the option was available and very apologetic. Excellent stay and would highly recommend.

Car park is quite a distance away. Then reception isn’t with the hotel, I was distracted and tired and missed the reception as I saw the hotel first, headed to that, couldn’t get in and then asked in the bar Reyes Pinter me back to the hotel entrance, it wasn’t u til some other guests arrived that they Pinter out the reception back towards the car park. Annoying when it’s raining as they are not next to each other. This needs to be made clearer.
Room was ok, a little more than a travelodge if I’m honest.room was actually cold, with solid floors and was woken up by people walking around in the room above. Who needs to be walking around from 2-5am!!!
Breakfast was ok, told to sit anywhere, yet the tables weren’t made up, no cutlery or condiments, all other tables had dirty plates and hadn’t been wiped clean. Would I stay there again? Maybe if little or nothing else was available, I go somewhere else if in the area.

Stayed here a few times, always pretty good, worth noting the car park is a bit of a walk away from reception which is in a seperate building to the hotel which is a further walk from reception so you will get your steps in. The rooms are well appointed with good beverages in the room, you have your own AC control and the beds & rooms are clean with a decent sized TV, WiFi is also good. The toiletries supplied appear to be good quality the shower is OK. They also offer family rooms as well as doubles as I found out on my last stay where my room had a bunk bed next to the door in - again point of note this configuration might not suit soem families as the door is easily opened from inside, the bunk beds are by the door and the view from the main bed is obstructed by a wall in this direction. I noticed the grouting in the shower was was a mouldy on this visit as was the shower mat which I reported. I have coeliac disease so cannot eat gluten or gluten-contaminated food so breakfast could have been a problem but the staff were excellent & the chef cooked me my own special plate rather than the buffet & even supplied gluten free toast - very impressed! Overall I recommend this hotel, it is good value and pleasant

However as a wheelxhair user the disabled car park needs resurfacing (it was quiet uneven to transfer in and out of the car).

There's also quite a dip in front of the entrance door to the rooms making it more difficult to bump over the metal entrance strip.

We booked a premium family room with a balcony (park view) and a twin (park view) Staff were amazing, I contacted them to request if both rooms could be close together. I got a phone call back from a lovely lady (I wish I got her name) to offer a room upgrade for Twin to a Suite. Unfortunately it meant being on a different floor so I politely declined. Upon arrival they had managed to implement an even better upgrade as it was only 2 doors away. Having an autistic son who likes to visit his Grampa, this made him very happy. Can’t thank you enough!

The rooms are always clean and bright. Love staying here, we always seem to get a balcony with a view of the Maned Wolves, which we love as they are quite active and playful. Got some great snaps and the children loved it! Food from the Bistro and evolution of was lovely and service both nights was spot on. This is an annual visit for us around Christmas and it’s amazing.

Excellent location for visiting Yorkshire Wildlife Park. There are many great amenities on the doorstep (restaurants, coffee, ice cream, shops, kids’ play facilities etc) and parking is free. Breakfast is pleasant with a suitable variety. All staff were so friendly and helpful! Check in was a breeze and restaurant staff couldn’t do enough. The cleanliness across the hotel, restaurant and Hive area was excellent. The communal ‘watering hole’ on each landing in the hotel was handy for use of microwave and cutlery (disposable).
The only downside for us was that we opted for a park view room and were facing a gravel path, an assembly point and empty field. With enough peering, the maned wolves were visible early on a morning. Slightly disappointing compared to what I imagine the view is from other rooms.
All in all, a lovely stay and we would return.

Decent hotel rooms. Weird place overall. Went for business night stop with no Knowledge of the wildlife park. You have to park a short walk away from the hotel reception building. Fine as was dry but needs cover for if v wet. Then that building is quite disconnected from the room building which is a walk through various other theme park and retail buildings. The connected restaurant is poor. Staff and room itself are lovely. But the menu and quality of food provided for a fairly premium price is really very ordinary.

We had a lovely overnight stay at Hex. We had a resort-side room and it was spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. It was so nice to wake up and see the bush-dogs, tapirs and maned wolf from our window! Breakfast is great too, with good veggie and meat choices on the buffet. Staff are friendly and attentive. Overall I think it’s good value and we’d happily come back.

The hex wildlife hotel was fantastic and when twined with the wildlife park that we could see out of our bedroom suit made a fabulous end to a most memorable break
Although all of the restaurants and reception were in seperate buildings it didnt impact our stay at all and the staff were excellent but the real joy of this sight is the park and the vast array of animals and our trip was made extra special with a meet and greet with the rhinos which was exceptional
The room was superb with all the space and facilities you need and a view over the park from our outside balcony with bush dogs and sea lions moving around made it a real treat to look out on

I stopped here very late for an overnight whilst on a long business trip and booked very last minute. The entrance is through a secure barrier and the parking was easy to navigate to. The greeting I received from the front desk was very welcoming and friendly and the location was amazing. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. I travel a lot and can honestly say its the best in room tea and coffee I have had for a long time. I left before breakfast was served but will definitely be staying here again as I'm sure it will also be amazing.

Brilliant overnight stay

We have a great overnight stay at the Hex Hotel, went for the wild live concert, everything was so well organised. Very comfy room with great view of the wildlife park could have watched the tapirs and bush dogs all night

The hotel looks very stylish and great it’s seconds from the wildlife park. We had a room facing the courtyard which was lovely. There was plenty to do and shops on site. We had the twin room with a travel cot and the space was enough. It’s very modern clean and tidy inside. Ot had a modern look and for the price felt like a bit of luxury. I love the Ben and pillows I’ve never had such a great night sleep in a hotel and I travel for work our grandson slept well
In the travel cot and a plus we were advised to bring our own mattress for it. TV was great as it had Netflix cable so we could log into our own account. Hot drink supplies were provided as well as a fridge. Seriously couldn’t fault the room, hotel or facilities. We opted for the buffet breakfast and so glad we did as it was delicious with a vast range of breakfasts products for anyone. Would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Great hotel and great experience. It was lovely waking up looking at the animals first thing in the morning with no other visitors around the park. The check-in process was nice and simple and the room was great for my family.
