Hotel is in a great position in the centre, can be noisy but there is secondary glazing. Staff greeted me on arrival and promptly booked me in. Room clean, a bit dated , but pleasant. Shower/bathroom modern. Downside the room heating didn't work . Should have reported , but didn't. I will revisit.

Found the hotel in the centre of town, but drove around looking for the car park. Only found some awful NCBcar parks. Tried to phone the hotel but they didn’t answer. We were so stressed after a long g journey that we gave up and stayed elsewhere. I lost my money so I’m not happy. The booking said there was a car park, but we couldn’t find it. And what kind of hotel doesn’t take phone calls!

Good hotel at a great price. Not super-modern, but provided everything that was needed with really friendly staff.

Super comfortable bed.

Wifi was great in the lobby, but in my room at the far end of a corridor it was too weak to use for much - struggled to get 1mbps, which would have been a problem if I was there for business.
Similarly, hot water in the shower was fine when it arrived, but it did take some minutes. I imagine this is an end-room issue.

The location was great. The check in staff were fantastic. The rooms were clean. However this was all spoiled the next morning when we went for breakfast. It’s a buffet breakfast but with over an hour to go the team member refused to put out any additional hot food. When she eventually did she said we could only have 1 hash brown each etc. some other people came down for breakfast and asked only for the staff member to say that we must have eaten all the food as she just put some out. This was very embarrassing and I don’t know why she did it. If I’m paying £15 for a breakfast I will have 2 sausages and 2 hash browns without being made to feel awful. Also the bread rolls were hard as rocks.

Did mention to staff that carpets surely need washing, obvious and suspect stains on sofas , and noise level at night in corridors were over the top. Not sure if it is used as hostle for accommodation as drunks were having meetings in the hallways 😒 2am and also 3:30am. Nice staff and seemed they are trying their best.

The room was ok, staff when we arrived were lovely but the whole stay was spoiled with breakfast the next morning. The staff member was extremely rude, wouldn’t refill the food even though there was an hour left on it and when she eventually did bring more food out she shamed people for having 2 hash browns when people according to her only have 1. I could see this has actually upset some women on the next table also when the staff member shouted that they must have eaten all of the hash browns because she just filled them. I don’t think she understands how a buffet works. I didn’t see anything around a policy of limited items on a buffet breakfast and I’ve never had this at any other hotel buffet I’ve stayed at. For £15 you should be able to pick what you want. I was planning on giving a great review before this and it has totally spoiled our stay.

The room was lovely, the reception staff were great. Breakfast was extremely poor unfortunately. Hot plates were not kept topped up so hardly got anything and what we had was lukewarm and soggy.
Unfortunately an incorrect charge was taken from my card after my stay which I queried and the hotel admitted it was a mistake and it would be refunded. This has still not been refunded and has put me in some difficulty this week so I’m very upset about this.

PROS: the staff. Faith was a great face for thw property and checked me in efficiently and was very friendly and accommodating. Ice bucket ready
Paige was very sweet.professional and also went out of her way. She was always there for me with an ice bucket. (A big deal for me as there is no fridge in the room).
Oliver, i did not see as much, but was always pleasant.
Rene was very professional balanced with friendliness. He gave me the courtesy of asking about my stay and, more importantly, listened and took note of my concerns and suggestions. I hope that they are passed on and considered. Also, that i receive feedback regarding the issues having been addressed.

Cons: housekeeping was lacking in attention to detail but slso cleanliness. The lamp hanging over the bed was dusty. There were no facecloths in the bathroom for me to clean it and wipe down spills. They emptied the bins (which had no bags) and changed the towels. Other than that, there was no apparent cleaning or vacuuming. The rooms are small so there is not much space for things. I dod leave items on the bed, so i understand policy is not to make the beds. No problem. The wardrobe was a bit fusty, due to humidity, which did permiate clothing.
All of this was conveyed to Rene, who i am sure will have it in hand.
I forgot to tell Rene about the above sink light not working.
No phone in room ( not unusuL wirh motels)There is a switch to turnon power to heat and towel rack.

Excellent location: Situated right in Doncaster town centre, very convenient for shops, transport, and local attractions.
Privilege room assignment: Thankfully given a quieter room not facing the High Street, which helped reduce noise.
Room amenities:
Reasonable space.
Small fridge was a lifesaver during the hot August weather.
⚠️ Cons
Noise issues:
Hotel is surrounded by clubs and bars on the High Street.
Even in a quieter room, low bass noise persisted late into the night.
Tip: Request a room away from the street when booking.
Wardrobe design flaw:
Hangers placed above the fridge area.
No ability to move hangers to a more spacious section.
No suitable space for hanging longer garments like suits or dresses.
Bed accessibility:
Bed is unusually high.
Difficult for older guests to climb in and out comfortably.
Lighting inconvenience:
Bedside lamps have no switches.
No master control to turn off all lights from the bed.
Requires getting up to switch off lights manually.
Housekeeping lapse:
Body soap dispenser was empty during shower.
Requested refill took over 20 minutes with no action until chased.
Very disappointing response time, especially when tired and needing rest.
Basic amenities like soap should be checked and stocked proactively.

Great experience grom start to finish. Lucy was particularly helpful. The room was spotless, very comfortable bed. The breakfast...wow, what a fantastic choice. The hot food choices were freshly cooked and brought out, so thete wasnt piles of food out drying out under the hot plate lights. It was just a continued supply straight from the kitchen.
I would highly recommend this hotel. I look forward to my next stay here.

From the second you take your last look at your car in the dodgy car park to the moment you hopefully get it intact you cant relax.

As you walk up to the place you recognise that once upon a time this was a nice place and getting into reception its dated but acceptable. A warm welcome as well but when you get in the lift you know this isn't gonna be luxury. The walls in my room were damp and paintwork shoddy but by far the worst thing is the noise. From the many internal doors banging and the constant carry on from outside you wont get a wink, no a/c but opening a window isnt an option. Tv is tiny, no water in room, breakfast alright but wouldn't rush back.

The receptionist staff was friendly and the beds were comfy. Everything was within a ten minutes walk from the hotel such as nightclubs, bars , restaurants, wool market and shopping centre. Decorated in the reception to the horse racing. It also had 2 ways to have a shower and a bath with a radiators in the bathroom.

I couldn’t fault the staff, they were so friendly and helpful. As I am disabled they gave us a room near the lift for convenience. The room (318) was lovely and clean and they arranged a disabled seat and extra handrails in the shower. The room was incredibly noisy as every time anyone used the lift you could hear it in the room. The disabled toilet on the ground floor wasn’t working. Would I stay there again - yes but I would want a room a little further from the lift.

In general everyjing was good with this place, staff we met seemed friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable and provided everything needed for a relaxed stay. I had booked a Privilege Double room though as was visiting with my best friend and thought we'd enjoy a double bed each but also each others company. On check in though we were informed that the room wasnt available and so we had been given a double room each - which was fine but kind of spoilt our enjoyment a little and had no communications about it prior to arrival.

Location is very central and convenient to everything... Frenchgate car park is a little walk from the hotel and although have a deal with the hotel, the receptionist did not know the correct password for a discount and the ones she gave me didn't work.

Generally a pleasant stay overall though

The room was used more as a base as we had a day and night out planned. The room was surprisingly small but did what it was intended for. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and went out of their way to give directions etc as we tried to find club after club.

The location is fantastic, there's a pleasant reception area with a nice decor and a small bar.

I like this hotel. The breakfast was the happy type, with self service hot and cold available.

The power shower was super and the checkout time was just the best option available right up to 12.00 as ALL hotels should be.

The room, large size with the bonus of a lovely bed, pillows were terrible and no extras provided.

You could make own teas and coffee in room, 15 milk provided and reoccurring sugar was no issue.

Hotel next to a nightclub but little noise. Lots of areas to relax and enjoy the hotel mini break.

The staff should be given bonus as very happy and informative especially Ebony who told us all about the Yorkshire Park that we were visiting.

Check in easy and a breeze, I chose English as my preferred language as I was born in the UK.

Water with fruit pieces available at breakfast, I enjoyed unlimited butter. Temu ornaments in reception give an inclusive and homely feel.

Life very small but useful to get to know people on a more intimate level. Fast acceleration and access to floors without delay.

Overall, happy and delighted experience of the hotel facilities, joy from the staff and happy the guest who has the short or long trip.

Thank you to friends at Mercure Doncaster, the key cars was produced from wood grain material.

Only negative was the pillows disintegrated beneath your head.

Hash browns a bit dry but sausages were full of meat, especially the ones I had for breakfast.

13 out of 14 for this hotel. Happy to return.

Lovely hotel only issue we had was room not ready when we arrived at 3 was given key to room went up to only return to reception as the room wasn’t made up apparently all privilege rooms had been given new mattresses still in plastic but obviously they forgot we was booked in we received so much apologies from receptionist but manager didn’t have time of day for us kept sending hotel receptionist over waited about 30 mins to get in to room when in only one towel and no bath wash and button for toilet was still faulty we had reported it a few weeks before and still wasn’t repaired shame as the hotel had improved so much from previous years ago room 314 we was in so if in that please check it’s been repaired we had come for 2 nights but we left after one as the races had been cancelled we did ask if we could have a credit note they said no as it had to be cancelled midnight night before which isn’t going to happen we due check out at 11 and if you stay for 1 night you have til 12 to check out but no refund or reply to my email such as shame room is on front so if your not a party animal don’t stay here as thr pubs opposite are open til about 2 in morning through week later on a weekend they do have quieter rooms which they were going to move us to but that room wasn’t prepared either

Good value place to stay. Check in was swift and easy, once I’d found somewhere to park. Advert description says parking available but what that means is that there is an abundance of parking available in NCP type car parks within a 5 minute walk of the hotel. Room was clean, tidy, comfortable and well appointed. Evening meal was adequate and reasonable value but with limited choice. Breakfast was good value with something for everyone.
Music from a nearby bar was loud until quite late (11ish) but I was able to sleep through it. The bits that need updating is the entrance to the hotel as it’s tired looking and not very inviting. The steps in are broken with big chunks missing so first impression was not good. Stairway and hallway carpets were also old and looks really bad. I was pleasantly surprised at the room which made all the difference.

Because it was in the city centre it was very noisy until 4 in the morning, they provided ear plugs, which helped a little. It was unbearably hot. The bacon was hardly cooked, it looked as though it hadn't been near a grill so it was cold.

Rooms ok but hotel in general poor. Really bad smell. They said nothing would come off card as it was just a holding card but balance came off and I wanted to pay at hotel on day with different card. Very expensive and they said it was because of Dave weekend but there was no rave meeting. Room so noisy with outdoor partying on streets.

The worst problem was the noise from the clubs/bars nearby, severely disrupting sleep. The room was also dirty, stains on the bed linen, and problems with the shower and toilet. The nearby parking felt very unsafe. Staff very helpful, thank you, but the property was awful and the noise really impacted our trip. Not recommended.

Didn’t like that one side of the double bed was stuck against the wall. Wasn't clear from the pictures this would happen. Fixtures hanging off walls and a hole in bathroom door. Staff were friendly and helpful
