I booked this hotel through Travelocity and was pleasantly surprised. I had arranged for transportation through the hotel from San Jose to Jaco and the driver was on time (we were exhausted as we landed at midnight and had an hour and half drive to Jaco). The hotel is very clean, large room overlooking the ocean, safe, friendly staff, polite and very helpful. The casino was good, small, quiet (which we didn’t mind at all). The restaurants, the coffee shop and the bar were all very well managed and clean. We stayed for 9 days 8 nights.
If I have to complain about one thing would be room service: the food came in takeout boxes, wooden cutlery. Nothing else. No table to eat on even though the room had ample space for a small coffee table between the two already existing queen Ann chairs. So we ate on the bed, suffered to cut our food with the wooden cutlery and didn’t enjoy the experience at all. Otherwise, we would return again for sure.

If we had booked through the hotel directly we could have got free breakfast (I think it was $25 each). Also might have got a balcony but the room was fine. At the edge of Jaco so we had a short taxi or Uber ride to get into town - about $4! Although I don't use the casino another guest commented that there was no way to get money! No ATM in the hotel. Nearest is in the center of Jaco. Tried various restaurants. Pool bar was very good - a bit slow but very nice waiters. Pools are lovely though a bit too warm. Very helpful concierge booking and changing tours. Thank you Aura.

Plenty of parking although the resort was kind of empty when I went.

Good: Beautiful room(condo) on high floor with nice balcony and view of ocean..can't say enough about that. A/C in room and premises was perfect. Walk out of 100° outside and immediately into cool resort interior..Plenty of pool chairs/umbrellas so unlike Aruba, I didn't have to get up at 4am to grab one. Again it was kind of empty but I think there's plenty to go around. Plenty of food options on site including Stanz? a slightly higher end dinner place. Most staff was consistent and diligent although some appeared to be dialing it in..can't say I blame them.

Dislikes: Bring your wallet! They nickle and dime you for everything. I was granted a late checkout yet they charged me $20 yet I spent thousands there🙄 You have to pay for drinks($15/each) while playing at their casino. So, you're putting $1,000s at risk and you're charging me $15 for a Vodka grapefruit? Seriously? It was kind of empty and I requested to extend my stay and the front desk woman gave me a ridiculous new quote..Went upstairs and re-booked on Expedia for 40% less..Seriously? They need savvy managers to intervene and override robotic front desk agents..very frustrating. All I could deduce is they don't really care if you revisit..$50 to bring up a guest with some lame reasoning..Seriously? All in all I enjoyed my stay but will be looking elsewhere if I return.

We truly enjoyed our stay and our first time in Costa Rico. The staff were so nice and made our stay pleasurable. Definitely will recommend this place to stay for anyone visiting. We took advantage of our 20% discount at the spa and it was fantastic. Live the property and the amenities.

Really liked the Mexican restaurants downstairs by the bar , breakfast buffet is also worth it . You can get coffee , juices etc and it comes with so many options for $20 per person it’s early tho from 6-10am
Would have like it to end at least an hour later .
Also the coffee shop the coffee was so good and so were their pastries
So convenient to have for early coffee sips for the early birds !

Beautifully clean room. Great view of the ocean and pool. Fridge should be cold when we arrive - so check before stocking! Heavy comforter for the bed but all we did, was turn the ac to a lower temp. A little out of the way but very quiet. We slept well!

Rooms were clean, staff was nice. The sliding glass door in the room had no lock and was difficult to move. The onsite restaurants and coffee shop had good food and coffee but we're pricey, as expected. There is no beach service or chairs on the sand. Expect services to end at the pool. The pool hot tub water temperature was the same as the pool. There is no outside fire pit to enjoy at night. I was chastised for bringing my own cooler down to the pool. There's a casino on site however I didn't participate and gambling. Uber is readily available for local drives.

Resort was wonderful! Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Property and facilities were immaculate. We stayed in an oceanfront suite and the room was huge! Lots of room and a gorgeous view. The pool was refreshing and had plenty of room and sun loungers. Restaurants had good food. There's a casino there as well, but we didn't go. Highly recommend staying here for a comfortable and relaxing vacation.

Front desk personal was very courteous. The doorman will always find you a place to park inside the hotel's premises, even when the hotel's parking lot is full. Expect Manhattan pricing on food, beverages and souvenirs. Easy access to the beach and they have security personal monitoring the swimming pool area. The only thing my wife and I found to be lacking was the service received from the pool bar. After 3 tries to sit down and dine there, we noticed that the waiters do not care to take our order. They prefer to talk to eachother and avoid eye contact with us so they dont have to come over, hoping we give up and leave. That behavior was towards tables of 1 to 3 people. The larger tables were taken care of, so unless you are dining with a bunch of friends or family members, good luck getting your order within an hour.......

This place has a 5-star location, staff and overall potential but only a 2 or 3-star management, upkeep and investment in the property…. The staff was super friendly, very outgoing and polite. The security team was understaffed but vigilant, the views of the ocean and surrounding area are stunning, the pool area is very nice, well maintained.

however….

The design in rooms clearly missed the mark between intent and the implementation. Kitchen drawers that don’t open or can’t open due to placement of fridge, (our room kept the silverware in a drawer organizer that sat on top of microwave), odd placement of wall art that looks like a college dorm room, bed frames that are too low to the floor, exposed water and drain access in utility/laundry areas….

Also noticed Insufficient parking for the number of guests, some patio furniture that seemed past its useful lifespan, limited choice and poor food quality in some of their dining options for a resort of this caliber and price, an underwhelming casino on site, poor onsite security protocols to prevent non-guests from accessing pools, public spaces and an elevator bank that operates independently of each other causing backups at key times in lobby or mezzanine floors.

The understaffed security and need to update security protocols should be a priority. A refresh of interiors and review of functionality of designs should be an area of focus as well.

We had a wonderful stay at the Crocs Resort! The property is beautiful, and the staff were incredibly nice and welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable, though the drawers didn’t close and stayed open, which was a minor annoyance but didn’t affect our overall experience.
The pools were amazing, and everything around the resort was well-maintained. One small thing to note is that the “happy hour” at the pool bar wasn’t quite what we expected. They were promoting BOGO drinks from 4–6 PM for 2 for $18, but when we went earlier the next day around noon, we found those were actually the standard prices, so not much of a discount.
Despite that, we had a very pleasant experience overall. The hotel is very clean, the atmosphere is lovely, and we truly enjoyed our time. I would definitely come back with my family!

I stayed here for a week and the resort it self was pretty decent the staff was decent wasn’t the nicer and or the most helpful had to pay 50$ per guest to even come over to my room or my hotel . There a non smoking property and we obeyed all the rules and smoked at the beach and off the property just like they stated and asked us to do . We had guest service come in one day and clean up our room and the package of cigarettes were in my dresser . I got left a note saying I’d had to pay 250$ if I don’t stop smoking it’s not allowed . Thought that was it then we’re walking down stairs and get chased down by 3 workes telling us we can’t smoke if we do we are gonna have to find another place to stay just made me feel extremely uncomfortable when I was doing everything they asked and still threatened us with no place . Besides that the stay was awesome place was very clean and workrs were very accommodating

no real craps table as advertised. number 1 reason i went there. We were there for my birthday. went down to the Italian restaurant to make a reservation and make sure there was room for us for a birthday dinner. They said there was. we said ok we will be back at 7:30. We returned at 7:30 and the restaurant had closed. Completely shut down. They allowed us to order Italian food, but we had to eat it in the Mexican restaurant while listening to Mexican music (normal not a big deal but this was supposed to be semi nice for my birthday). unacceptable. I don't care how dead you are if one of your amenities is a restaurant you keep it open.
Covid is over. it is no longer ok to just shut things down because it's slow!

The number of young ladies I saw with older males was appalling. Twice I watched staff let them up on the elevator. The are not likely minors but very close. Ruined my pool visit and I didn’t go back. On arrival you tried to overcharge me and I was not able to check out in local currency. Only USD. She said it was my card but 15 minutes later I bought my breakfast in colones. Food was mediocre. Room was nice.

We had a balcony room on the 6th floor. It was clean, big and beautiful with a comfortable bed. We used the hotel transfer from the airport which was great! We tried all the restaurants at the hotel. The food was excellent and the service was fine. We loved the pool and the beachfront! This is not a party place but relaxing and safe. We went on 2 excursions through the hotel- waterfall tour and Manuel Antonio NP. The hotel staff booked our excursions and they were fantastic! We also rode the horses in front of the hotel at the beach. It was also excellent! We had a wonderful time in CR!

First I get there and they say I can only have one room key and if I lose it I have to pay for a new one. Then I get in the room and their towels are paper thin, there was a place for a table to sit and eat but it had been removed. Staff was not friendly or pleasant, I did not feel welcomed. The pool and rooms were beautiful and well kept. Unfortunately the service was terrible amd the food at the restaurants were not good.
The lady at the front desk is extrodinarly rude. Actually the first unpleasant person we have encountered in all of Costa Rica... unfortunately had to deal with her several times and each time should stood chatting with the other ladies while we stood there waiting, then each time while dealing with us would pick uo the phone to make a call while we had to wait for a receipt or whatever we were asking for... then was very short with us and rude giving us what we asked for including just asking where things were... I definitely wouldn't go back just to not have to interact with that unpleasant woman!!!

We also tried a few items at a couple of the restaurants it very bland, overcooked and oddly presented. Also the restaurants must have cleared all their reviews to remove rhe negative ones as the now only have a few reviews for them...

I really enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the resort. The property is clean, modern, and visually appealing. Staff members were very friendly and professional throughout my stay. I loved that room service came every day and cleaned thoroughly, which made the experience feel comfortable and well-maintained. I also appreciated that from the pool area, you can walk straight onto Jaco Beach. Very convenient! It was a nice touch that I mentioned it was my birthday and upon checking into my room, there was a piece of cake waiting for me, and wine!

However, here are some downsides: The breakfast on the second floor switches to a buffet at a set price because of the number of guests in the hotel. I was told this directly by staff. I didn’t love that change, especially since the buffet food quality did not match the price. My daughter only wanted pancakes and eggs, and the pancakes came out cold and the eggs were watery with milk still coming out. Shoutout to Vanessa, who did accommodate us and only charged for what my daughter actually ate the two days following, (french toast and plantains). Her customer service was appreciated! We literally went to town to eat every day because of the food.

The slot machines in the casino only accept Costa Rican currency, which would’ve been nice to know in advance.

Food and drinks are NOT all-inclusive !!
