Staff were very helpful! We had an issue with our door and helped us fix it and watched our room while we went out. They also allowed us to check in early which helped a lot so we didn't have luggage in the back of our car while in town.

The stay overall was OK there was some major issues such as the showerhead having no having showerhead. There was no hot water even after switching on the switch for hot water. It was made to be clear, that is a quiet place to stay, but it in fact was not ,you could hear a loud banging all night, dogs barking 24/7 which I know is not in their control, as paying guests you were made to feel as if you have no freedom to enjoy yourselves. yes it is cheap but you also get what you pay for and not having a showerhead is ridiculous as well as no hot water. We also were told we could not park there before check-in time which was 20 minutes before when we parked and we wanted to walk around Jaco. I don’t understand why as we’re paying customers. It’s OK for a night but need some serious upgrades in the room the ceiling fan also looked like it was going to fall the roof.

This is a very budget hotel.They do not supply hand towels, only 1 bath towel per person, no shampoo or conditioner, no blankets, no clothes hangers, etc. Coffee was good, breakfast food was limited. Unfortunately the owner was not welcoming at all.

It is adorable, neat and clean. It is on the dead end of a residential street, so it's very quiet. The grounds are beautiful, the pool is a nice size, and the breakfast is good. The best part is the staff. They are friendly, helpful and kind. I will definitely stay here again!

Cute little hideaway

This place was a bit unexpected, a little haven down a normal looking road. The room was clean and comfortable, only issue was the door was quite hard to lock and unlock. The staff were lovely, very efficient and helpful. The young lad when we arrived, showed us how to open and close/lock the gate and explained everything to us, thank you. The girl at breakfast was very nice, as was the breakfast

This was one of the oddest places we have ever stayed.

You must watch a video before you check in
They will not take your passport numbers from a photo in your phone
You have to wear a paper wristband during your entire stay at the property
The room was incredibly crowded due to the strange shape of the room
The beach club to which you are supposed to have access (a big selling point in the video) actually charges you to use their facilities
You get an email before you check in that it is not a sex hotel
Your room key also has a card to run the AC so you cannot leave the AC on if you are out of the room

Basically, their guests are treated as if they are teenagers who are not capable of making reasonable adult decisions.
The experience was strange.

Stay at Jaco Lodge

Good-sized room, nice touch with sink and cabinets. Wish there would be plates and cutleries, given the presence of a kitchenette. Very helpful staff. Be aware of potentially spoiled products during continental breakfast (I had 4 pieces of watermelon, all of which were getting bad). The setup of the hotel and the security around it was well-done. I would stay there again.

The shower had barely any pressure, and the water that came out was very hot. Considering Jacó is a very hot place it should be the opposite. Also, the breakfast options were terrible. All was offered was cereal, boiled eggs and toast, I had to spend my own money to get lunch in a restaurant nearby.

The hotel was on a resort. When I returned home at about 1:30am, the gate was locked. I couldn't get in. I rang the doorbell and tried to make noise to no avail. I ended up having to risk scaling a wall, to get into my room ! What would a reasonable person do - sleep outside on the street? What if I got hurt scaling the wall, or attacked by a secuity dog?

Oddly, in the morning my room was locked from the outside. (I had to use my keys to undo the 2 way lock. So if there was an emergency in my room - perhaps a power failure that would have prevented me from finding my key, it would have made a frustrating sliding door.

I assumed Expedia vetted the hotels they list, but was wrong. I want a refund.

It had no shelf for toiletries, door lock took 2 mins. to enter room, a magnet on your room key enabled the air cond. so it had to be off whenever you exited the room, the pool deck bounced like it was ready to collapse, the toilet handle had to be held down to complete a flush, the shower verve was not fastened at all, and you could see light thru the wall while showering, the room itself had no table to sit at, and there was no room to move around if your partner was asleep, I paid for 14 days, but left after 1 night, and they would not refund a dollar, No one in the area knew where it was, no signs on the main rd, none of the side streets had names or street signs., I had to spend another $1200, to get a satisfactory room nearby.
I was left very dissatisfied, I don't believe the place deserves even 1 star...

Everything looks really cheap, it is dark in the room and really small, the aircondition shines so bright in the night and you can't turn the light off, also we were freezing or sweating, the breakfast is so basic just white bread and marmelade or cornflakes with plastic cutlery (better to offer nothing in this case)

An oasis from the heat and crowds.

We booked for 1 night, then rebooked for a second. The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the region. The parking lot was small but under camera surveillance so gave a feeling of security. We enjoyed the pool and the quiet time it offered after the heat of the day. It seemed as if no question or request was too trivial for the staff to deal with efficiently and cheerfully. I would be delighted to stay here again.

My bed was uncomfortable, AC was blowing on my head so they stopped the movement of the direction of the AC to fix it, but later it was noisy. Their breakfast shouldn't be called breakfast, coffee was cold and I wasn't even late. I booked three nights there, but checked out first in the morning after the first night.

Arrived couple hours before check in but room ready. Knew would not be using room much other than sleeping so chose more for location and economy. Nothing fancy but room was comfortable. Staff helpful when I had problem connecting to the WiFi. User error of course. Made a request about something not in their policy, but we were able to work it out and make an agreement.

Sufficient for the price

Is a very small and quiet hotel, takes a lot of care for nature and in the small room available there is plenty of vegetation and details.
The room was small too and just fulfilled the needs, not recommended for exigent travelers or long stays.
On the other hand if the guest is aware of the limitations in the facilities available for sure won't be disappointed.

Stayed in Jaco many times. The Jaco lodge is just outside of the busy , party section of town. It is situated in a quiet neighborhood, only minutes away from bustling downtown. Good place to relax for a couple of days.

Bad location and hot.

The hotel was offset from the main road in a very bad neighborhood with rooster crowing in the morning. The air conditioner in the room is activated with the key that opens the door to the unit. When you leave you are forced to remove your key and deactivate the air conditioner. When I returned to the room it was about 120 degrees in the room, which took 1 1/2 hours to cool down. The reception desk was very hot with no air conditioning. The breakfast did not start until 8:00 in the morning and is only coffee, cereal and toast.

Nice location very quiet

This is a nice hotel, the rooms are independent cabins if you are obly staying for a night or two it's ok. If not you will not have enough space for luggage. The location is great because it is quiet and even though it's not beach front it is still not far away from everything you might need. One of the features I liked was the littlw fridge in the room where you can keep the drinks or fruit.

Nice hotel if you are staying a night.

If you can get over that you are staying in a little shed you can have a good time at this place. The staff really try hard to make your stay great. The grounds are kept up pool is a nice size but temperatures are to hot. Breakfast is good enough to get you going nothing flashy just the basics.

Wannabe Eco hotel, but falls short

Everything here is super cheap. The linens, the furniture, the TV (22\"?). The parking lot was so minuscule it was difficult to navigate through all the curbs. There is a farm full of roosters next door that start crowing at 3:30am. The only positives were the friendly staff and the little pool, which closed at 8pm. I would NEVER recommend this hotel.

Scaled down & Unique - site very well used

Spent two days here - Jaco is very hot and humid - name is a bit off for it is not a lodge but a few main buildings with about 8 small, close together prefab buildings (large garden sheds with tight quarters and a small bath ) situated around a pool - your key operates the AC unit, so the unit is very hot upon return and takes at least 1/2 hour to cool down. The pool is very refreshing. The place was kept clean & tidy and there was a limited breakfast made available.The place is pet friendly, Cats roam the property and one in particular loved coming into our cabina/shed and being friendly at the pool - I am sure they were clean but wanted to take no chances - could not use our pool towel after it nestled without washing - funny, about towels -theirs were made of polyester and would not dry anything - place was a bit hard to find, but was enough away from the crowds and noise of Jaco to allow a good sleep except the roosters in the morning announce themselves \"proudly\".

The hotel is pretty close to the main road 34 and only about a mile or less to the middle of town. The hotel staff was great, they have a beautiful pool, the room was neat and clean, but the bed to soft (needs better one). But ac works great, shower was nice. Would stay there again depending on the price of the room.

Expensive for what you get, Little bunkey with a bathroom and toilet that you can barely sit on without hitting the wall. I would not pay over $60 CAD for these accommodations again. I had a army of ants to kill before I went to bed. Breakfast was continental and was so minimum.

Little Cabins around a Pool

It was comfortable, but a strange little place. No one at check-in until 3 PM. So I sat around and waited until someone arrived. There were several people working around the place, but evidently they couldn't check me in.

Many of the cabins are little, vinyl sided sheds, it appears. They put me in a more conventional room however. Good air conditioning and Wi-Fi in my room.

Breakfast was between 8 and 10 AM. It consisted of bread that could be toasted, cold cereal, juice and coffee. They don't go all out, thats for sure. But for Jaco, it was the best rate I could find on Expedia without going to a hostel with dorms. So, as always, you get what you pay for.

Although the room was large enough, there was no desk and not even 1 chair inside the room or outside on the patio, so using our computers to book our next stay was very hard. Plus, the room was as dark as the inside of a cow ! I have never seen such dismal lighting. It was necessary to go out into the sun to see the time on my wristwatch. My wife had to shine her cell phone light on my face so I could see to shave. Of course they excused the bad lighting as part of their \"carbon reduction efforts\", but in reality they are just cutting corners to maximize profits. Economizing to the point of making a room unusable is poor management.

It's good enough for what you pay for it. One thing that really annoyed us was that people were building in the middle of the night. I got woken up by hammering that continued for hours. Also, nobody mentioned anything about a free complimentary breakfast when we checked in. We found out about that when we got back from having breakfast in town.

This hotel is best suited for a quick rest spot as it has no amenities. They use modified small garden sheds as rooms. The location is away from the downtown area and at the end of a dead end street
