The room was large and overlooked the pool. The ocean was in the other side of the door. You could the waves crashing. You could also hear the incredible loud trucks from the highway all night. Sounded like a helicopter landing just outside. The ants in the room and especially in the bathroom were a nice touch. Security was good as was the feee parking right in front. Breakfast was included but we couldn’t take advantage because it only started at 8 am and we had plans before that both days. The restaurant on site was nice and beautifully situated at the oceanfront.

We stayed at this hotel for 10 days and overall had a mostly positive experience. The staff were pleasant, and both reception and security were very helpful throughout my stay. The restaurant service could be a bit hit or miss, but the staff were friendly and accommodating.
One thing to note is that short-stay coach groups often seemed to get priority, so breakfast and the pool area can become incredibly busy and slightly uncomfortable if you’re not part of a large group or family. Weekdays are definitely better in terms of space and atmosphere.
The location is excellent, and the room was clean and comfortable, although the lamps in the room didn’t work at all.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel for its helpful staff, good location, and generally pleasant stay, keeping in mind the busy periods with large groups.

Loved the balcony as we sat out often. Music started too early in the morning. Not enough staff so to order food off the menu and ordering drinks took forever. Dirty glasses left on the bar counter during meal service. A pain to run a tab as they don’t ask you when checking in. So you have to give them your credit card at reception and first time at bar. Sitting on loungers you never saw a server asking you if you want something. Inefficiencies in dining room as tables never cleaned off after first sitting.

Their ad said pet friendly, so I paid for an ocean view room for two nights.
When I got there they switched rooms on me to a cheaper non-ocean view room because I had a dog. The girl said they changed their rules, but hadn’t change their ad yet.

We have stayed at this property several times and every time has been amazing. The staff is attentive and very helpful and the inclusive breakfast is great. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for a small boutique hotel rather than a large resort.

The property is incorrectly placed on the map by Expedia. This is actually located on Hermosa Beach so no swimming in the beach at all. It's too dangerous. The hotel main pool was under construction June 2025 so we decided to leave the hotel and go to one that was actually in SOUTH Jaco beach for friendly beach waves you CAN swim in.
The hotel did provide free drinks in the room mini fridge for the inconvenience of not having the main pool open. The drinks at the pool were reasonably priced. If you don't care about not being able to swim right at the hotels beach or the main pool (smaller pool was open) then this is an excellent hotel

Stunning beachfront restaurant setting. Enjoyed Warren’s hospitality. He is a class act and has a lovely resort. He’s updating the pools and I am sure that the rooms will also receive a facelift.

Terraza Del Pacifico was a fantastic experience. The suite that we got had a view right by the beachfront and the sounds of the waves was very soothing at night. The have a wonderful pool you can swim in if the waves are a little too intimidating. The beachfront itself is an enjoyable walk with a beautiful forest backdrop behind the hotel.
The restaurant at the hotel had fantastic food and quality service. The gallo pinto was the best I had during my whole trip in Costa Rica! The staff was responsive and assisted with anything.

Hotel and service were great, on site restaurant was very good as well. Front desk staff was excellent, especially both of the young English speaking young ladies! Both very helpful and friendly! I wish I could give Hotels.com the same review....why do they give you the number of guests that can stay in a room but not include an extra guest charge into the room rate? Very deceiving pratice that leaves the hotel staff in an uncomfortable situation having to explain! I'll definately visit this hotel again, but will book direct instead of thru Hotels.com

Hotel definitely had a certain charm and the front desk was particularly helpful and friendly! Down side is constant base music vibrations heard throughout the hotel and the continuous roar of truck traffic nearby. But still an enjoyable weekend getaway- just tone the music down a bit, please!

Loved the fact that the site resembled an older Costa Rican hotel with great amenities and on the ocean. What was bad was the truck traffic occasionally using air brakes at all hours. Also they obviously have staffing problems on the busy weekends with wait time for a drink at the bar exceeding 45 minutes sometimes and the bar manager not able to make drinks, instead watching the waiting customers. The help, excluding the bartender, who didn't speak English, were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is nice and the rooms are comfortable. The restaurant is right on the beach and the food is very good. The pool has a swim up bar and has a fun atmosphere. The staff are very nice. Unfortunately there is a place a little ways down the beach that hosted a large and noisy rave party on the night that we were there. The music sounded like it was in our room and did not stop until 4 am. We went to the front desk to see if anything could be done and there was nobody there. We would not stay there again in case in happened again.

Was a wonderful place to be. Ocean side and an awesome pool breakfast also include and it was very very good. Dancing lessons and live music on weekends. King bed was the most comfortable stay we had in weeks of travelling. Also booked 2 extra days to enjoy the ocean and just relax.

Beautiful hotel close to San Jose, good for family, couples. Lovely private beach, though not for swimming. Staff at restaurant and pool can improve customer service, they seem quiet unorganized and take way too long to serve a simple soda, it took around 2 hrs to get an order of nachos at the pool, it was not crowded at all. A part from this, the hotel is confortable, nice pool and beach.

This hotel needs serious management help. They have cesspools right outside the door of the rooms (the sewage smell permiates the room) . The restaurant is not organized at all, the restaurant was full at 8:45 pm, we only saw 3 people eating, everybody else was waiting for their food like us. We ordered one soup, and one pasta dish, and it took them one hour. BTW the restaurant advertised a 9:30 closing time. And a big factor is, no swimming at the beach (too dangerous)

I love this place because it is on the most beautiful, secluded beach. In the two years since I was there, they have really done a good job of remodeling.

Check in the guy was NOT friendly. Wanted a drink, the only place open was the restaurant, needless to say we ended going into town to get drinks. Could not get served. Trees where being trimmed and branches fell less than 1 foot away from us. The only friendly employees where at check out the security and the housekeeping staff.

The checking process was fast. They changed our room because the online information showed pictures of the front pool view and not the back building with no view of the beach. Make sure to request the building closer to the beach. Just know that you cannot swim on this beach due to rip currents. However you can walk and take the sun. It is a beautiful nature surrounded beach.

The resort didn’t look much like the photos. Under construction with no mention of this online. Looked like they started the construction and gave up, no one actively working on it while there. You couldn’t swim at the beach which also was not mentioned online. Online it said there was laundry service, this was not on site which we had planned on using, upon our arrival we were told it was in another town and very expensive. The swim up pool bar was only open the last day of our stay. Most staff were great, friendly, however some of the folks working the snack bar by the second pool were not very interactive. The beds were not comfortable at all. Hotel is also located very close to the highway and our room could hear the traffic especially the tractor trailer trucks riding their breaks downhill all hours of the night. The breakfast and sunset views at the beach were amazing. Overall it was okay but I wouldn’t book again.

The Location was perfect, service at the restaurant, housekeeping even parking was great. The only problem was the slow check in process. There was only one person at the front desk helping even though we could see other staff.
I first came here 17yrs ago and it's still a good deal.
They've added another building and a new pool but, there are a few closed sections that are eye sores.

Extremely gracious staff and a beautiful location. The outdoor restaurant serves really good food including a nice complimentary breakfast. Fresh fish and killer ceviche on the menu for lunch and dinner. The outdoor dining room is huge and the view is fantastic - right on the beach. In fact, a few small waves top the low wall at high tides. No swimming in the ocean (dangerous conditions) but the pool and swim-up bar were fab. We stayed at Terraza Del Pacifico on our way down to Osa and liked it so much we reserved a room for 2 nights on our way back to San Jose.

We loved staying at the Terraza del Pacifico. The hotel is clean and quiet. It's not fancy but it's comfortable with excellent AC and hot water. The front desk staff were especially helpful with all our questions; all the staff were friendly and professional. The beach is beautiful and unobstructed. You can't swim due to the strong rip tides, but it's fun to walk along the surf and watch the surfers, and we swam in the pool. The food is excellent, though a little expensive. The included breakfast is a great deal and delicious. If you have a car you can go to other restaurants in the area. We did not have a car; we took a cab a few times to Jaco, about 10 minutes away, to change more money and do a few errands. There is also a public beach in Jaco where you can swim. The vacation was very relaxing and fun. We would definitely go back!
